Based on the 1980's film with my favorite famous couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.

Charlotte Von Eldritch née Magne is a young heiress who is not only unhappily married to an uncaring husband but has grown up constantly being pressured by her family to be "perfect" and having all her independent dreams of being a singer crushed by them which results in her being very snobby and mean. Though this behavior is just to mask her unconscious desire to be loved for who she is and her boredom with the life she's been pressured into living.

Alastor Devalcourt is a poor single father of four (two boys and two girls) who makes ends meat through taxidermy. In his youth he dreamed of having his own radio show while his wife at the time Mimzy dreamed of being an actress. Unfortunately while he put aside his dream to take care of their family, Mimzy walked out on them to become a burlesque dancer. He loves his children dearly but struggles with being able to both work to provide for them and to be there to parent them. To make matters worse, Katie Killjoy a man hating social worker is threatening to take the children away from him due to the fact that they have no mother and she believes men can't raise a family alone. (But she's all for women doing it)

While Charlotte is vacationing on a yacht her husband Sevithan hires Alastor to work on a shark he caught. For two days Alastor constructs the shark perfectly however before Sevithan can see it Charlotte notices some of her jewelry is missing and accuses Alastor of stealing them. When he denies it she not only ruins the shark taxidermy and blames it on him thus resulting in him not getting paid, but shoves him overboard. He gets out alright but loses his taxidermy tools in the water. Those tools cost him his entire life savings and there is only means of getting money so naturally he swears revenge.

Later that night Charlotte is on deck looking for her jewelry when she herself slips and falls overboard. The shock of the fall leaves her completely amnesiac and Sevithan callously abandons her to be contained at a psyche ward. When Alastor hears about her situation on the news he sees this as a perfect opportunity to not only make her pay for the money and tools she cost him but to also appease Katie's unreasonable standards.

He takes Charlotte home and convinces her that she is his wife "Charlie" and has her perform all the duties required of a wife and mother. (Although he doesn't sleep with her) Charlie has no memory but retains her haughty behavior and struggles with doing housework and attending to Al's rambunctious children but she eventually gets the hang of it. As she spends more time there her cheerful, music-loving, and sweet natured self that her parents forced her to keep repressed starts to resurface which allows her to grow to love Alastor's children and fall in love with Alastor who finds himself guiltily returning Charlie's love.
