Chapter 15 - Rescue Plan

In the previous chapter, Jerry and the group were reunited with Kindaichi. Upon they returned back to the hotel, they were noticed that the door was shutted down. But things are getting much worst when they learned that Mayumi was the one who was the responsible for the crime act, and her reason was to seek vengeance against Rika. Later, Rika tell the whole truth to Kindaichi about the secret relationship between him and Rosa (Black Masked Rose). Meanwhile, Rosa had finally learned that Mayumi had betrayed her, and she decided to helped Kindaichi and the detectives.

Will their rescue plan will be worked out? Will this is will be the second face off confrontation between Rika and Mayumi?

Kindaichi along with Tom and Rika, went downstairs, saw Jerry, Chazz, Miyuki and Inspector Kenmochi were waiting at the wall stand.

" Is everything were okay, pal? " Tom asked Jerry

" Of course, everything were settled. I had already called the other police forces for backup just in case. " Jerry answered in response

" That's good to hear, Jerry. Well done. " Kindaichi said

" Thanks, Master Kindaichi. " Jerry said with a smile on his face

But then, Akechi went downstairs.

" Are you feeled better now, Superintendent? Not bad, huh. " Jerry said, with impressive expression on his face

" I'm getting better, Mr Jerry. I will joined with you guys instead of sitting around and do nothing. " Akechi said to him

" But I'm afraid if Mayumi was trying to catch you out. I can't let it that to happened. " Rika said, with a little anxious expression on her face

He smiled at her, said " I know that you are worried for my safety but I was very more concerned is you, Rika. I don't want to let yourself involved too much. "

" I know that but... " Rika uttered, nodded her head

" You know what I was thinking that you two will getting married in the near future and besides, you two are quite so perfect for each other. " Tom said, with a romantic expression on his face, and he giggled

Their faces were getting blushed in full red.

" Haha!! I knew it! Maybe I will be one of your groomsmen and Miyuki will be one of the bridesmaids and even Old Man will be one of your major sponsor in the wedding. And also, Jerry will be the ring bearer. " Kindaichi said, with romantic embarrassment

" After all, once a lifetime that you will getting married in front of the altar, somehow it was so very romantic.. just like in a fairy tale story. " Miyuki said, act in a romantic manner

" I think I'll agree with you guys. After all, it will be a grandest celebration ever. " Kenmochi said, with a happy expression on his face

" I think I will gonna do all the wedding proposement. It will gonna be so special. " Jerry said to them, as the others did

" Oh, come on, guys. He and I were not ready for this kind of stuff. " Rika said

Chazz, stared at her, with an embarrassment on his face, and a little grinned expression " Why you mean that not ready, huh?... And besides, you two were became childhood sweethearts for a very long time. Things has been changed as time passed by and strived to move on to a new life. Don't be pretending in yourself that you are not ready for this. We are all believe in you and your deduction skills, Miss Rika. "

Everyone were smiled at her.

" Mr Princeton got the point there. " Kenmochi said

" After all, you are his only destiny lady, Miss Rika and it will never changed that way... from the very beginning up to the end.. " Jerry said to her

" Everyone.. " as she and Akechi looked at each other, paused for a moment

Then after that, he hold her hand, tightly.

" Are you really sure about this? " she asked

" Of course, I am. After all, I will never let you to be separated from me again... for real. Let do this but... after everything were all clear, okay? " Akechi said to her

" Oh... okay... " Rika uttered

And they hugged in embraced. But then, a familiar voice said, in an echoed manner " You two were so perfect for each other, detective lovers. "

They were surprised by the voice.

" No way... it couldn't be that... " Kindaichi uttered

The Black Masked Rose appeared before them, as thunder and lightning roars loudly.

" Black Masked Rose.. no.. Rosa Lilac?! What the hell are you doing here? Are you trying to kidnapped me again? " Kindaichi asked, with a shocking expression on his face

" No, I did not came here to get you, Kindaichi. I came to helped all of you to solved this case. " Rosa said in response, as she takes off her mask, revealed her real face to them

" Oh, yeah! You are the one who were responsible for murdering two guests here in the hotel, so surrender yourself right now and atone your sins. " Tom said, in a serious tone manner

" No, pal. I think she was very serious of what she had said. " Jerry said to him

" serious, you say? Look, she murdered two people and now you thinking that she was serious. Are you out of your mind? " Tom asked

" I think Jerry got the point. " Chazz said

" Even you are also believe this too, Chazz. It doesn't make sense. I don't want to hear some excuses from an evil masked criminal just like her. " Tom said, with a little impatient expression on his face

Kindaichi, went slowly approached to Rosa. Their eyes met with each other as they looked at each other faces, in a froze state manner.

He sigh in deep breath, and he said " I know it was hard to believe but... are you saying that you are serious of what you had said? I knew that you had murdered two people is because you wanted to bring me back... I don't think that you will gonna changed your personality after those years since I met you.. but somehow, I had learned to be accepted of what other people feel with. "

" The answer is yes. Somehow, I was feel guilty when I was been act so selfishly in order to get what I wanted but I had learned that someone will gonna betrayed me so that why I come here... to be reconciled with each other... and I know that you are still hated at me.. "

" I will never hated you, Rosa. "

" It is? "

" Of course, I will forgive you and sorry for what I did back then, cutting off your mask into half... "

" It was okay, Kindaichi. Don't need to be apologized to me. From this day forward, I will be always there to guide you no matter what it's takes... until the end... "

The two are looked at each other, in a romantic manner. Miyuki, was so very grateful that Kindaichi had been reunited with his first love of his life.

After their romantic conversation, Kindaichi said to her " Okay, you will gonna joined with us. And you are saying that someone had betrayed you? "

" Yes, I had learned the truth from the Puppeteer of Hell, Yoichi Takato. " Rosa answered in response

They were surprised of what she had said,including Kindaichi as well.

" He tells me that Mayumi Shikata had been betrayed me due to that she had finally give up her duties as my secret accomplice. Upon learning of her secret evil plot, I tried to followed her but she was too fast and so I changed my mind, came here to helped you guys. " Rosa said to them

" I think we need to act fast. I think Mayumi will be there any sooner. Let's go, everyone! We have to be ready. " Jerry said in a rush

The detective group, along Rosa, was now joined with them, going back to the Kyoto Hotel, to set up the secret rescue plan. The police forces, were on stand by, guarding the entire hotel while the others were went inside to rescued the trapped guests and the staffs. The detective group, were split up. Jerry, Kindaichi, Rika, Rosa and Akechi will be secured at the center front while Tom along with Kenmochi, Chazz and Miyuki came along with the other officers to rescued the guests and the staffs.

A few hour later, Mayumi had finally appeared before them, through swirling piles of red and black roses. She was wearing a different outfit this time, but still she was wearing her red mask.

" I had never expected that all of you had planned this whole thing against me. " she said, with amusement

" You evil traitor... " Rosa uttered, with an anger on her face

" I had never anticipated that you will gonna changed your mind, Rosa Lilac, to team up with those nonsense detectives punks. " Mayumi said to her

" You will be the one to paid for all the things that you had done with. After all, I swear that you will going down... into dead flesh. " Rosa said, with a gritted anger on her face

Mayumi, was just laughed of what she had said " You will gonna defeat me? Then go ahead and show what you got. "

Rosa tried to released her weapon from her pocket but Rika provoked her, stepped her aside.

" Miss Rika... " Rosa uttered

" Don't worry, Miss Lilac. Just leave this matter to me. Just stay behind and protect Mr Kindaichi, okay? " Rika told her

She stepped back away while Rika stepped forward in, facing at her.

" We had faced again... Rikako Kobayashi, my greatest arch rival and enemy, and of course, you had brought your only childhood sweetheart, the handsome superintendent. " with amusement on her face

The two were looked at each other, in different facial expressions. Akechi, was watching at her, was started to getting anxious.

When Mayumi sees Rika's facial expression, she said with strong amusement " I still remember that expression of yours... back when... when you were at Italy a few years ago... that you were trying to protect a gorgeous handsome young artist and singer, isn't that correct? "

Rika, was froze in silence, nodded her head.

" Do you mean she was referring to the case of the kidnapping and hostage attempt of the well famous Japanese young male artist and singer of the present century, Shino Rima? " Kindaichi wondered in a surprise manner

" Shino Rima... I still remember that person... he was been titled " the First Male Soprano Singer of the Century ". His songs were mostly more focused on types of love and some of them were famous on the song charts every year, placing on the top 1 to 10. He was a great singer. Also, he was been also called " the First Male Irene Adler of the century. " " Jerry stated

" I had already heard that issue case a year ago... but why Mayumi knows Rika was there? " Akechi wondered, with curiosity on his face

" Solving a case it seems. " Kindaichi said, correcting him

" But the question is... why? " Akechi wondered, in confusion and he thought on his mind " Don't tell me that you were falling in love to that guy from before? Don't ever do this to me, Rika... don't ever betrayed me... " with an anxious expression on his face again, as he looked at Rika, was still froze in silence, didn't make a move

(Flashback)

(Milan, Italy)

(Before she had reunited again with Akechi and the detectives)

A splendour concert will be held at the music hall stadium tonight, all of the greatest artists and singers from every continents were invited to performed on stage, including the well famous young male artist and singer, Shino Rima (Note: He has the same resemblance of the male main character, Yashiro Isana from another anime series, K Project). Rika, was still a police detective at that time, was there to attend and to watch the concert along with some other friends and fellow officers from Japan, who were among were huge fans of him. But somehow, fate has brought them to met with each other in personal.

The entire stadium was filled with people in every corners, some of her fellow officers were having a little chat conversation with Rika, was sit at the second seat in the fourth row while they are waiting for the concert to start.

" I'm so getting excited for this. Isn't it, Miss Kobayashi? " Amina Sakoto, the first commander in chief, asked her

" Yeah, it is.. " Rika muttered

" What with that facial expression of yours? Don't tell me that you are not interested in this, aren't you? " an another officer asked her, with embarrassment

" I didn't say that I'm not interested in some concerts stuffs and besides, I just came here to enjoy myself while we were having a day off today. " Rika said to them

" You are quite too serious that much, Miss Rika. That's the reason why you were rejected every men who were having a huge crush on you... is because you were the most popular female member in the entire police department. " Amina said to her

" Do you ever forgot guys, I had already have a childhood friend, got that? That's explained it why I turned down every offers from every men who had crush on me. So, just stepped aside for that and we have to focused of what we are doing here in Italy. " Rika told them

" Okay, fine. If you insist... ooh, the concert has been begun. " Amina said, shrugged herself

The concert has been begun. The first performer to be performed on stage is the well talented Italian male tenor singer, Rubrizio le Mardorf, who was singing his latest song titled " Rock Through the Skies ". The next performers to performed on stage was the American singing group, The Flyers, in which they singed their song titled " Go and Get Back " . As the concert went on, every artists and singing performers from every countries from every continents do their singing abilities (Arabian, Latin, Spanish, African, Taiwanese, Thai, Australian and Korean) at the center stage, in which the entire audience were happily amazed by their singing performances

That very moment, the moment that everyone were awaiting for, the singing performance of Shino Rima, the well popular male singer of the entire world.

As he stepped forward in to the center of the stage, he deep breath for a moment and then after a few seconds, he began to singed the latest song " Love At First Sight ", in which it was very popular in the music charts at that time.

As he sang the song, everyone were touched by the song, except for Rika, was more focused watching at the top rafters rather than him, in a serious facial expression. Somehow, she saw a mysterious shadow person was at the top rafters, holding something heavy on the hands. When Shino was almost reached to the final lines of the song he sang, the mysterious shadow person bring down the long iron bar, by removing off the tie of the rope down at Shino on stage, in which the entire audience were started to alarmed in panick. As the long iron bar was trying to hit Shino, Rika was suddenly stood up, rushed quickly to the stage and she helped him to avoid from hitting, in which the organizer, the staffs and the other performers were surprised of what they had saw. The long iron bar was fell down at the stairways, in which the audience were run away in panicked manner except for Rika's team.

Shino, was already safe, thanks to Rika. But Rika, saw the mysterious shadowed person had been run away from the top rafters. She tried to catch up the culprit but she failed and she went back to the stage.

The organizer of the event, named Kino Makutsu, went approached to Shino, in an anxious expression on his face " Are you alright, Mr Rima? "

" Yes, I'm fine, really. What was really going on? I don't really understand of what was really happened. " Shino answered, with a little confusement on his face

Rika, went approached to him, said to him " Someone will gonna threaten you, Mr Rima. "

Shino, turned his back, with a surprise manner on his face " Hold on... are you the one who had helped me out away from being hit by the long iron bar a while back ago? "

" Yes, I am. " Rika answered

" Wait... someone will gonna threaten me? I don't really understand of what you had said... I didn't do anything wrong to anyone else... " Shino asked her, with a stunning expression on his face

" Yes, Mr Rima. You didn't know that there is a person who will gonna threaten you life is because of your secret status as the most popular Japanese artist and singer of the century. " Rika answered him, in a serious tone manner

" Do you know who was the main culprit is? " Kino asked

" No, I think the culprit was a very dangerous one. It was very too hard to catch easily. " Rika said in response

" I see " Kino muttered, nodded his head

" By the way, who are you anyway? How did you know all of this? " Shino asked

" My name is Rikako Kobayashi, a police detective of the Japan Police Department." Rika answered, showing her police ID to them

Kino, was surprised, asked " No way! You must be the well famous female detective in the entire Japan, right? "

" How did you know her, Mr Makutsu? " Shino asked

" She was the one who had solved a well known case, in which it was named " The Case of the Disappearing Treasure of Kaiju Island " a year ago. She was the most strongest and bravest female member of the entire Japanese police department. " Kino answered in response

" No kidding me... " Shino uttered, then he looked at her for a moment

" I had came here to Italy along with my team is because we, every members from the police department were having a long week day off, given by our police boss inspector. We had been tired and exhausted from working everyday to served better the people in the public." Rika stated

" Surprising... " the other performers whispered to each other ears, in a low tone voice manner, were hiding from the red curtains

Shino, slowly went approached to her, said to her " Thank you for helping me back then, Miss Rikako. I'm so very grateful. "

" Your Welcome, but please, called me Rika for short, okay, Mr Shino? " Rika said, with a smile on her face

Then, the two were having a friendly relationship with each other although Shino didn't know that someone will gonna threaten his life as Rika said to him earlier because she knew his secret status as the well famous male artist and singer of the century. As days passed by, their friendly relationship was started to developed attraction towards to each other, in which Shino was started to fall in love to her at first sight.

(Flashback Ends)

(Back to the present time)

Rika, was still standing, facing to Mayumi, said to her, in a serious tone manner " I knew that you were the responsible for killing attempt at Mr Rima back when. I had watched you secretly from afar at all the times, Mayumi. You had no reason to fret it. "

" Make sense, I had do that such a thing is because... for payback.. "

Jerry, Rosa and Kindaichi were surprised of what she had said.

" for payback? What she was talking about?! " Jerry wondered, with a shocking expression on his face

This makes Rika was getting madder than usual, while Mayumi had only just laughed, in a maniacal manner. Akechi, was getting more anxious than ever for Rika, although he thought that she had already fell in love to an another man from before, but still, he still believes in her until the end.

While the confrontation was still continues on, back at the inside of the hotel, the other police forces along with Tom, Miyuki, Inspector Kenmochi and Chazz had finally found the room in which all of the guests and staffs were trapped by Mayumi, including their closest friends Tuffy and Jaden.

They opened the room. The police forces helped the guests and staffs to a safe place while Tom and the others helped their friends to get out of the trapped hotel.

As they brought out of the hotel, Jaden asked Chazz " Where was Jerry? I don't see him. "

" Don't worry. They were handling a criminal outside of the hotel, along with Kindaichi and the others. " Chazz answered

" They were going to track down the criminal, I'm so sure of it. " Tom said to him, insisted

" Oh, I see. " Jaden muttered, nodded his head

" Do you think cous will be fine? " Tuffy asked

" Don't worry, Tuf. He will be fine, don't worry. Boss Kindaichi was there with him along with Superintendent Akechi and Miss Kobayashi. But for now, we should bring you two to a safe place. " Tom said to him

" I hope so... " Tuffy muttered

And they brought them to the nearest inn house along with the other guests and staffs of the Kyoto Hotel, in which the detective group stayed permanently.

The secret trackdown against Mayumi has been begun. Rosa, was finally changed her ways, forgives Kindaichi and she joined with the detectives, in stopping her and to rescued the trapped guests and staffs of the Kyoto Hotel, including their close friends Jaden and Tuffy. On the other hand, Jerry, Rosa, Kindaichi and Akechi had finally learned that Rika had already met the well famous Japanese young male artist and singer named Shino Rima a few years ago at Milan, Italy, whom she secretly in a love relationship with him.

Will Rika can able to defeat Mayumi this time? Will this is will be the only opportunity for Rosa to strike her down? Will Rika can able to admit the whole truth to Superintendent Akechi of her secret love relationship with Shino from the past?
