Chapter 16 - Case Solved?

In the previous chapter, the detectives were fully ready for the secret rescue plan. That very moment, Rosa Lilac was making amends with Kindaichi, whom he had truly accepted her in his life despite of her greatest mistakes of the past. Later on, the team split up. Kindaichi along with Jerry, Akechi, and Rika had finally encounter Mayumi for the second time. She revealed that she had betrayed her as Rosa's secret accomplice. Also, the case of the attempted abduction of Shino Rima, a famous Japanese young male artist and singer, whom Rika encountered in the country of Milan, Italy two years ago.

Will Rika can able to defeat her once again? Will she can able to admitted the whole truth to Akechi, her only childhood friend and sweetheart? What will be their next move?

After that incident, Rika was started to investigate the case. The Japanese young male artist and singer, Shino Rima, was started to getting to developed interest at her for the very first time and having a friendly relationship.

Every day, while she was working at the crime scene, Shino was watching from afar, in inside the van, looked at her for a moment and after that, he was deeply fell in love to her at first sight.

His assistant manager, was sitting beside him, asked with curiosity " Uh, why are you getting fell over heels at her, Mr. Shino? It doesn't make sense of it... she was just an ordinary detective lady, you know that. "

" Even though she was just an ordinary detective, I wished she will be my first girlfriend... for all those years that I spent my whole life in creating music... I really wanted to... to experience of what's really love is.. I wanted to... "

During break time, Shino went down from his vehicle and he went approached to Rika.

" Um, Miss Rika. "

" Yes, what is it, Mr Rima? "

" Will you mind that.. come with me... to have dinner at the restaurant nearby, if you still have more time? "

" Oh, would I. " with a smile on her face

This makes his heart was beating faster than ever, as he was very grateful that she had accepted his request.

Later that night, the two were eating in a luxury restaurant.

While eating, Rika asked him " So... what you will gonna do next after your concert here? "

" Well... to compose an another music again, perhaps. And you? "

" After I had done here, I will be going back to Japan, to settled some other cases and stuffs. "

" I see about it. I cannot explained that you really are a smart detective lady after all. "

" It was my duty as a police member, to helped others who were trying to seek justice and to protect the innocents. "

" Oh, I get it. May I asked you for one favor? "

" Yes, what is it? "

" Will you... gonna stayed at the hotel for the night? "

" Yeah, but why? "

" Is because.. " holding her hand along with his, in which makes her to getting blushed in red and Shino went on "... is because I really wanted to spent more time with you... after you had saved me from brink of death... and since then, I had really developed in love to you.. even though I was a popular idol artist and singer. I really wanted to experienced of what really love is... you are the first woman who can able to understand me..."

Rika, was speechless, didn't know of what she will gonna say next.

Shino keep on " ... ever since I spent my whole life as an artist and singer.. I was been all alone.. until I met you, Rika. You are so very grateful to me. So, will you gonna accept my request? "

" Well.. uh... "

But her mind flashed, recalled of her childhood memories with her only childhood friend and sweetheart, Kengo Akechi.

After that, she said to Shino in a low tone voice " Well.. uh... thanks for your great offer, Mr Rima. But i'm sorry, I had already have a childhood friend of mine. "

This makes Shino's heart was breaked into pieces, was shocked in surprised of what she had said.

That very moment, Akechi went in, approached, saying " Oh, Rika. You are here in this restaurant too? "

" Yes, Akechi... it is... "

When Akechi turned his head, facing to Shino, said in a surprise manner " Ah, you must be the well known Japanese young male artist and singer, Shino Rima, isn't it? My name is Kengo Akechi, superintendent of the Metropolitan Police Department. I'm the childhood friend of Miss Rika Kobayashi. It was a great pleasure to meet you in personal. "

But Shino didn't responded, was still looking at him, filled with fury and resentment.

" Oh, pardon me, Mr Rima. " and he turned back his head, facing to Rika " So.. shall we headed back to the hotel? "

" Sure thing, no problem at all, my darling Akechi. " and she turned to Shino, said in a formal manner " Well, thanks for the dinner, Mr Rima. Akechi and I will gonna going back to the hotel. So, I'm headed off. Good night. "

Then, the two left, holding their arms together. Shino, was started to feel frustrated, furious, resentment and jealousy for the very first time in his life, thinking that his dream girl, Rika had already have her own special someone. But still, he was still fell in love to her but somehow, he had a secret plan on his mind, on how to make Rika fell over heels at him.

The next night, when the police forces were already left, Rika went to the room of the hotel in which she was staying at. But much to her surprise, Shino was standing beside the wall, wearing casual clothes, smiling at her, in which Rika was confused.

" Uh, Mr Shino. Why are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be asleep in your own room? "

" Well, Miss Rika.. you see.. " went approached to her, touching her cheek with his hand, and he leaned closer at her, said " ... I just wanted to spend time together... just the two of us. "

This makes her to be surprise, said to him in a serious tone voice manner " Uh, Mr Shino... I guess this is not a serious action, isn't it? Maybe I should bring you back to your own room. " trying to pulled him out

But then, he pressed her on the wall. He looked at her, in an unknown facial expression.

" Uh, what was the matter with you, Mr Shino? "

" Miss Rika... I can't let you go.. is because I had been in love to you so much from the first moment that I saw you in my own eyes... you cannot turned your back away from me... so please... just stayed with me... just for one night... please... "

They were having a few minutes of silence. After that, Rika close her eyes, saying in her normal voice " Mr Shino, listen. I know that you are a gentle and nice man but I'm sorry.. I cannot do that.. is because... I had already have my own special someone. He was the first man whom I met since childhood... but for now, I need to focused on my duties and responsibilities as a member of the police forces so that I will never abandon or to ignore it. And besides, I will never be totally involved with some other people, including idols just like you. Will you mind that I will sent you back t-"

And he kissed her on the lips, making her to be surprised, with her eyes opened.

" Why are you doing this? "

" Is because... I loved you so much... even though that you had already have your own special someone... somehow, I felt jealous when I see you hanging out with him. "

" Mr Shino... " as she looks at him

But that very moment, a bullet was trying to strike to Shino.

" Mr Shino! Watch out! "

She dodged him away, slipped on the floor and the bullet crashed on the cabinet.

" Are you okay, Mr Shino? "

" Yes, I'm fine. Thanks for saving me... once again... "

Rika stood up, went quickly to the window. She opened the glass pane, saw a mysterious stranger was been ran away.

" Is there's something wrong, Miss Rika? What did you see? " with nervous expression on his face

She turned her back, facing to him, saying " Mr Shino, I'm afraid to say this.. that someone will gonna kidnapped you in a secret manner. "

This makes him to be shocked in terrify " someone will gonna kidnapped me? by who? "

Rika, looked at the window, in a silent manner, with a serious facial expression.

" I had already know who was the person who was behind all of this... I knew it... "

(Flashback Ends)

(Return back at the present day)

" Heh, I never thought that you had figured it out, Rikako... you had already know my hidden motives... " Mayumi said, with an evil smirk on her face

" I knew that you wanted to kidnapped him back when... very much clever for a criminal just like you should do such a thing. I had learned that you had already escaped before I could track you. " Rika stated

" Well, shall do the game begin? "

" Fine then.. Mayumi. Soon you will be going down for real. "

Mayumi was just laughing of what she had said. When Rika was prepared to strike her, Akechi stopped her.

She turned her back, asked " What is it, Akechi? Why you want to stop me? Told you, this is my fight between her and me, got it? "

" Rika... are you saying that... are you truly in love to Mr Shino Rima, aren't you? " he asked

Miyuki enters in, was surprised of what she had saw.

" What was going on? Is the plan worked out? " she asked Jerry

" No, not yet, Miss Nanase. How was the other guests and staffs even my friends as well? " Jerry responded

" They are in the safe place, Jerry. Your best friend Tom, Mr Princeton along with Inspector Kenmochi had took care of them. The other police forces were secured the whole place, just to make sure that there will be no bad things to happen. " Miyuki answered in response

" Oh, I see.. " Jerry uttered, turned his back again, facing at them

Rika, had nodded her head, paused for a moment while Jerry and the others were looked at her.

" Miss Rika? " Miyuki uttered

" I'm getting nervous about this.. " Rosa said

After that, Rika replied back " Well you see, Akechi... the truth is that... I had already tell to him the whole love relationship of you and me... and I turned him away... even though that he was the one who have feelings for me... but still, my loyalty and strong devotion was still belongs to you, Akechi... forever for real.. "

" You really think so, Rika? But... he kissed you, right? "

" Is because he wants to accepted his feelings for me so that why he do that, but somehow, he accepted the whole thing. "

" Oh.. I understand it now... but I'm afraid that thinking that you were in a secret love relationship with him.. "

" Silly me, idols are been acted that way... and besides, I will never be totally involved in some of their own issues and problems. I owe you, Akechi... and nothing else.. "

" Rika.. "

The two were looking at each other faces. Everyone were acted in a romantic manner.

" How sweet... " Jerry said, with a sweet romantic expression on his face

" Miss Rikako was such a good example of a responsible woman. " Kindaichi said

" Yeah, I had agreed too, Hajime. " Miyuki said

Somehow, this makes Mayumi was getting far more jealousy in rage than ever it seems.

" I guess you are still devoted to him, huh? It will never happened that way, Rikako. " she said, with gritted anger on her face

" You wanted to fooled me by your evil instincts, Mayumi and besides, your evil goals had been over. Just surrender yourself if you don't want to getting killed by any weapons. " Rika said

Driven by insanity, she released a small knife from her pocket, trying to launched an attack at her but Rika dodges her weapon away, fell off on the ground.

" What the? " with shockness on her face

" Way the go, Rika! " Jerry said

" Thanks, Jerry. " Rika said, with a smile on her face

And she pointed her gun at her, asking her in a serious tone manner " Just surrender yourself, Mayumi. It was finally over. "

" Not quite " with an another gritted anger on her face

She rushed out, pushing her off and Mayumi grabbed Kindaichi hardly. She pointed her own rifle gun at him.

" Master Kindaichi! " Jerry shouted

" Hold on... what you will gonna do to Mr Hajime Kindaichi, Mayumi? Let him go. " Rosa said, in a demand manner

" No, please... just spared Hajime, Miss Mayumi. He doesn't do anything wrong. " Miyuki pleaded

" Don't make a single move, or else I will gonna killed him by my gun. " Mayumi said, in a demand manner

" Mayumi, are you out of your mind?! You are the one who had hated yourself, not the other people. You had made them suffered in pain... just how you trapped every people in inside the hotel.. is because you wanted to achieve your evil goals.. and to be happy in yourself... you are no more than a human... an evil monster... a monster! " Rosa stated

" You are talking too much, Miss Rosa Lilac. After all, you are no longer to be my accomplice... is because you wanted to protect the one whom you truly cares for all those years and somehow... "

She stepped away from them, jumped away and holding Kindaichi in her other hand.

" Meet me at the old Rose Hotel building in just one hour or else I will gonna finished off the grandson of the famous detective to death. " she said to Rosa with a burst of evil laughter and she vanished away, through red smoke

After Mayumi had vanished away, Jerry turned his head " So.. now what, guys? I guess our secret plan had been torn up. "

" Not yet... " Rosa uttered, walked slowly, nodded her head

" Miss Rosa? " Miyuki wondered

" Not yet... after all.. " turned her back, facing to them, went on " after all... I will gonna ended this once and for all. "

" Wait... are you really sure about that, Miss Rosa? " Akechi asked

" Of course, and besides... Hajime Kindaichi needs my help... I don't want to see him suffer again just like from the past.. this time.. I will never turned my back away... I must do this. " Rosa answered

" I see about it... you have a strong devotion in protecting the person whom you truly cared for. You have changed a lot especially in both of your heart and mind. " Jerry stated

" Thanks, Detective Jerry. " Rosa said, with a smile on her face

" Well, what are we waiting for? There is no time left. We have to get to the old Rose Hotel. " Rika said in a rush

And so, they began to walked, going to the old Rose Hotel building. Rosa, must faced Mayumi once for all, in order to saved Kindaichi from death.

The detective group had finally reached to the final conclusion of the case, that Rosa must stopped Mayumi once for all, in order to saved Kindaichi from death.
