Chapter 2
Standing in front of everyone, the two beings conjured a large screen, which showed various images of the galaxy.
"To start from the beginning, my companion and I have brought you all here from across time and space for a mission of great importance," Temporal spoke first a commanding tone.
The "guests" looked at him with stunned silence. No one said a word.
"I know this is hard for you all to believe, but it's true you." Magus stated.
"But time travel is impossible! Many scientists say that it can't be done!" Juno responded incredulously.
"What you say is true Captain Eclipse. There is no device that can allow mortals to do this, but for beings like us...well, it can be done," Temporal replied.
"Now if we may continue," Magus said, as he showed them the places they were picked from.
"Senator Amidala is from the time when the Empire came to power, not long after her passing," Magus continued, as the fall of the Republic and Palpatine naming himself Emperor of the galaxy flickered across the screen.
"So you'er saying that she died," Starkiller said, pointing at Padme. "Then how can she be alive now?"
"I was able to revive Senator Amidala by healing her body. I then had to reach out through the Force to bring her soul back to rejoin the body," Magus stated to Starkiller.
Hearing this was too much for Padme, who began to cry. Temporal saw this and created a cloth for her to wipe the tears away. Padme accepted the gift and calmed down after a moment.
"As we were saying," Temporal said as the image on the screen changed. It now showed Ahsoka, Rex and Bo-Katan on the run from Bounty Hunters. "The three of you are from five years onward,"he said.
The image then changed again. It showed Starkiller, Kota, Juno, and a strange droid fighting against groups of Stormtroopers.
"You three were from the time of the Rebellion in the early years of its war against the Empire."
This got the attention of Chewbacca, who was surprised to hear they were part of the Rebel Alliance. He wondered why he hadn't heard of them before.
"There was a rebellion fighting the Empire?" Rex asked curiously.
Juno stepped forward next to the screen to address the question. "Yes, it was formed by a group of senators, military officers and others who opposed the Emperor's evil. Both General Kota and myself were there for its formation."
"Captain Eclipse is correct, the Rebel Alliance would go on to challenge the Empire for many years. In fact, Chewbacca here was a key player during the war," Temporal added.
Everyone turned their gaze toward the Wookie. Chewie felt uneasy with so many staring at him, but he decided to speak anyway. Most of the group did not understand his language, except for Ahsoka, who translated for them.
"He says that he fought alongside the Rebels in many battles, including their victory at the Battle of Endor, was it?" she translated to which Chewie nodded yes at this.
"At this battle, both The Emperor and his second in command Darth Vader were killed."
A look of shock came over the faces of those who couldn't believe it. The Emperor and Darth Vader had died in the future; how this happened wasn't said, but for those present it made them feel better knowing that those two were gone.
Starkiller was quiet as he processed the information that the man who had brought him so much pain was dead. He had wanted to be the one to end Vader's life, but now that would never happen.
Seeing this Juno came back over to him and sat next to the man. She placed her hands on his, which got Starkiller's attention as Juno offered a smile which made him feel better.
"After the death of the Emperor, his forces would begin fighting each other becoming Warlords instead of officers," Temporal said as images of the Imperial forces fighting among themselves filled the screen.
"During this time the rebellion would form a new government called the New Republic. With their forces they focused on fighting one warlord before taking on the next."
A battle was shown as starfighters and warships battled in space over a planet that looked familiar to Padme, Ahsoka, Rex and Juno.
"What you are seeing is the New Republic taking the planet of Courscant from the Empire," Magus said with a smile, as as a flag was raised which had the symbol of the Rebellion on it.
"So Courscant is free of the Empire's control? Thank the Force," Kota sighed with relief.
"After this came the challenge of setting up a new government during a war, while dealing with enemies both new and old," Magus said.
The next image showed an alien man. He wore a white uniform with gold pads on the shoulders. His skin was light blue, his hair dark blue, and his eyes glowed red.
Chewbacca roared in anger at seeing who it was. This startled the others, but once he calmed down, he spoke about this person. Ahsoka once again served as his translator. "He says that this man is called Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the Emperor's most skilled officers who nearly defeated the New Republic."
"That is correct. in fact he's in this room...over in that medical tank," Magus said as he pointed behind the group.
Everyone went over to the tank. Thrawn's body floated inside. Using the Force, Kota sensed that he was alive which made him frown.
"Why is there an Imperial officer here and why did you save him?" Bo asked looking at the two.
"We brought Thrawn here as he is needed for the mission. He has the experience that is needed."
"So, he has some insight of sort?" Padme asked, looking at the floating alien.
"Yes, now please sit down everyone," Temporal spoke in a loud tone. They did so as the image changed to that of a man in black attire. He had light blonde hair, blue eyes and a stern yet welcoming face.
Padme was curious as to who he was as did Ahsoka and Rex, but Chewbacca smiled at seeing the image of his friend.
"The man you see before you is the one who brought back the Jedi Order: Luke Skywalker," Magus said with a smile.
Time stood still for Padme. She couldn't believe this-the man on the screen was her son, Luke. Here he was, all grown up and a Jedi just like Anakin.
Ahsoka and Rex were both in shock at this. They wondered who this person was, but they felt that Padme might know.
Walking towards the screen, tears ran down Padme's face. She wanted to touch the image, but the woman knew it was impossible..
"Senator, is there something you would like to tell us?" Rex asked. Turning around, then wiping away the tears before taking a deep breath, Padme spoke. "I suppose there's no way to hide this...the man before you is my son Luke. His father was Anakin Skywalker."
This news was surprising indeed. Ahsoka and Rex always knew their was something between the two, but never asked about it. Chewbacca couldn't believe that the woman in front of him was Luke and Leia's mother, but he did see a resemblance between the two.
Bo-Katan, Juno and Starkiller didn't say anything as they didn't know who it was that Padme spoke of, but Kota looked concerned at this.
"So I take it that you and Skywalker were in love Senator?" Kota asked.
"Yes it happened before the start of the Clone Wars. Afterwords the two of us decided to marry in secret."
"That was a dangerous thing for you both to do. The code forbids love as the council saw it as a distraction and a way to the Dark Side," replied Kota.
Juno and Starkiller were surprised at this. Jedi weren't allowed to be in love? What kind of rule was that?
"I am aware of this, General Kota, and so was Anakin. But when I discovered that I was pregnant, he was happy to know that he was going to be a father."
"Did anyone else know this?" Ahsoka added.
"Just Obi-Wan, Master Yoda, and Senator Bail Organa. They were present for birth of Luke and Leia."
Hearing that name got Juno's attention. "You mean that Leia Organa is your daughter?"
"You know Leia?" Padme asked looking at the blonde woman who nodded back.
"Yes, she's a good friend of mine. Leia is or was a key player of the Alliance. We worked together several times on missions."
Ahsoka and Rex were in shock again, not only did Anakin have a son but also a daughter as well.
"As I was saying before," Kota spoke, getting everyone to look back at him, "You two broke the code, which would have seen Skywalker leave the order," he said in a serious tone.
Padme thought she was going to have to defend herself, but then she saw Kota's expression change. "But given from what we've been told, your children helped bring down the Empire and restore the Jedi Order."
"And from what I've experienced in my time, love can be a strong motivation that can help during difficult times," Kota said before looking over to Starkiller and Juno. Both were surprised at this as they blushed then looked away.
This made the others chuckle, as Padme went back to sit down. With everyone seated, the Observers continued. "As you just heard, Padme's children have played key roles in saving the galaxy, many times in fact."
"Luke would train a new generation of Jedi Knights, while Leia became the leader of the New Republic for many years, Her children, like their uncle and grandfather, became Jedi themselves."
Padme didn't know how much more she could take. First she learned that her children had followed in her and Anakin's footsteps, but now she had grandchildren as well.
An image showed three children appear, two boys with brown hair,one girl with the same colored hair but it was long, like Padme's. Seeing this, she looked at Magus who spoke again.
"The three you see here are Jacen, Anakin and Jaina Solo. They are your grandchildren, Senator."
Seeing them made her feel strange as first, but a smile formed as she watched the three first play with each other, then walk over to two people who hugged them. One was a man who wore a black vest, white shirt, and dark blue pants with a blaster holstered on his right leg.
The second was a woman with long hair like Padme. She wore a robe of white, red and gold, and her face looked calm as she smiled at the children.
"The man with them is their father, Han Solo, a skilled pilot and former smuggler. The woman is your daughter Senator Amidala: Leia Organa Solo," the female Observer stated.
Again, she was silent at seeing what her daughter looked like, all grown up and with her husband. It made Padme happy and sad at the same time.
"So this Han Solo is Leia's husband. That means you have a son in law now," Ahsoka said with a chuckle.
"It would appear that way. I wonder how he and Leia met?" Padme repiled.
Chewbacca stood up and walked to over to Ahsoka. He whispered a few things to her, then went over to Padme.
"Chewbacca says he is Han Solo's closet friend and co-pilot of his personal ship the Millennium Falcon. He also knows Luke, Leia and their children. They consider him to part of the family."
Looking at the him, Padme smiled at Chewbacca who then hugged her. She returned the gesture, happy to know that someone here knows her family.
"Not that this is isn't interesting to hear, but so far you've talked about Senator Amidala's family for the last few minutes. What does this have to do with us?" Starkiller stated, trying to get the conversation back on track.
"He's right. You two said this was about some kind of mission, so what is it?" Bo added.
The others nodded in reply as they looked at the two beings who knew that it was time to tell them.
Chewbacca let go of Padme then returned to his seat as the Observers made the image change again.
"Very well. As we said before, the New Republic and remaining Imperial forces continued fighting until both sides agreed to peace after 19 years of war," the woman said as the group watched a man in a grey uniform sign a document with a tail alien who looked like a giant bird.
"Following this, the galaxy entered a period of peace for a time, as people and aliens worked together on various planets helping each other."
Knowing that the war was over brought a smile for those present. It seemed like it was a dream for some.
Then they watched as the screen expanded around them like a hologram. The current image showed a planet that was unfamiliar to most, as they saw a farm with fields of crops being harvested by worker droids and a female Devaronian who drove a floating tractor.
"This planet is located in the far outer rim. It has been five years since the treaty was signed and for many a time of tranquility."
Once the droids were done in one area, they moved on to the next, and the driver followed. As the work started, one of the droids looked up. The Devaronian looked as well and her face changed to one of shock. Four meteors crashed down out of the sky into the surrounding area. Clouds of dust, dirt and crops flew into the air. Upon seeing this the woman used her com link to call for more droids and to bring a water tanker as she saw a fire starting.
The group wondered if this was what the two beings wanted to show them. Some were puzzled by this until they saw what came next.
As the droids used the hoses from a water tanker to put out the fire, they saw the meteors started to shake then break open. Something unusual crawled out of the rocks. It was a tall alien wearing armor that looked to be made of some kind of rock-like material. It had an unusual skin color, a sloped head with markings on the face and two eye sacks colored blue.
In its hand was a snake-like creature that moved wildly until is straightened into a staff of some sort. The alien walked towards the droid, who asked the being if he was alright. The alien responded by bring his weapon down, chopping off the droid's arm, then destroying the rest of it.
More aliens appeared and they charged forward, attacking the other droids and the tanker. The aliens spoke a language that was hard to understand for those watching.
Up in the sky, more meteors came down and strange looking ships appeared. They began firing weapons that destroyed areas of the planet. Soon fire and smoke surround the land as the Devaronian woman began to run away from her home as the aliens destroyed it.
The screen then returned to normal size following this. No one said a word. They were shocked and confused as to what they saw.
"What you have seen is the reason we pulled you from the timeline: to help save the galaxy from this terrible threat,"
Magus stated breaking the silence.
"And what is the name of this threat?" Ahsoka asked.
Looking at the group, Magus replied, "They are called the Yuuzhan Vong!"
