Chapter 4
(Myrkr Space)
Floating above the planet was a massive Yuuzhan Vong Worldship. To those who had never seen one before, they would assume it was a large asteroid or broken pieces of a moon. Expect that this ship was alive, but very old.
Inside one of the sections of the ship, a bright light appeared in a vacant area in which the rescue team appeared. With them were eight Battle Droids, four MagnaGuards and five BX Droid Commandos. The Battle Droid were armed with E-5 Blaster Rifles, while the five commandos had Vibroswords equipped to their backs. Each of the Magnaguards carried a tall looking weapon which ended in a electric bulb, which Ahsoka and Rex recognized as Electrostaffs. These were the preferred weapons used by the guards.
The group took in the area of the ship, which looked strange to them. It was made of plant, rock and some type of coral-like substance, which reminded Rex and Ashoka of the insect hives on Geonosis.
"Well, now that we're here, how do we find the strike team?" Starkiller asked.
"I guess we start by looking around," Ahsoka responded, as she wiped some sweat off her face.
"And try not to attract the attention of the Vong or those Voxyn," Rex added.
Chewbacca agreed with Rex, then took the lead with the others, as the droids followed along. It felt strange for them to be in a ship like this, As they walked, they noticed some parts of the wall and floor moved.
"This place is creepy," Ahsoka stated, to which her comrades nodded in agreement. As they continued walking, they reached a junction that connected to another corridor. Suddenly Chewbacca held up his hand and growled something.
"He says there's someone coming," Ahsoka translated. She and the others took cover behind whatever hiding place there was.
Seven Yuuzhan Vong warriors, all holding ambistaffs, walked past the group. One of the warriors held in his hand a strange looking object that looked like a plant or blob. They saw the object move as it transformed into a head of a Vong officer. Seeing this freaked out the four, and it made Ahsoka feel sick.
The head told the leader something that was difficult to make out, but one of the words he spoke sounded like "Jedi", to the group. Afterwords, the head disappeared as the plant changed back, and the warriors continued onward down the junction, seemingly unaware of the hidden intruders watching them.
"What the heck was that thing!" Rex asked, looking confused at what he just saw.
"I don't know, but it seemed to be a communication device of some kind. I heard the head mention 'Jedi,' but it sounded different," Ahsoka responded.
"They must have located the strike team, which means they're calling in reinforcements," Starkiller guessed.
Chewbacca growled at this, then continued to follow the group of warriors from a distance. His comrades fell in line behind him, walking at slow pace to make sure that the warriors ahead didn't hear them. Things went well at first, but when they came to another junction, they saw the warriors were gone.
Before anyone could say anything, Ahsoka and Starkiller felt a presence watching them. Looking around the two saw nothing. Then they looked up and saw something crouching on the ceiling.
Above them were two Voxyn, who glared at the them before releasing their claws. The two monsters pounced down, trying to pin down their prey, but both Force users were able to jump back to safety.
Grabbing their lightsabers, Ahsoka's white blades came to life as did Starkiller's blue blades, both took a defense stance.
The two Voxyn growled at their prey, then lunged forward at the newcomers as blaster fire began. One went for Ashoka, Chewbacca and the B1's, while the second set its sights on Starkiller, Rex and the other droids.
Blaster bolts hit the first monster who winced in pain, then began to make a noise like it was sick, which made Ashoka wonder why. Then she saw it spit some kind of brown mucus at her. Using the Force to hurl it away, it landed on the wall to her left which started to burn away. Seeing this made her realize what it was.
"It shoots acid mucus, watch out!" she yelled in alarm before dodging another attack. It missed her, but it hit two of the B1's, who moaned as they melted away. Grinning at destroying two of the droids,the Voxyn jumped forward. Ahsoka rolled past it and was able to cleave off two of its legs on the right side.
Dropping down with a thud, the Voxyn winced in pain, but was able to stand on its remaining legs. Then a barrage of green bolts were unleashed as Chewbacca used his long gun to attack the monster. In response to this, several gobs of mucus were launched at him. The Wookie tried to dodge them, but one them hit his arm, which burned away his fur as Chewie howled in pain.
Seeing him hurt angered the Jedi woman, who used the Force to lift up the monster up as she hurled it back and forth. The Battle Droids fired their rifles at the Voxyn who roared in pain. Then raising her weapons, she threw them at the creature which resulted in it being cut in half.
The two pieces dropped to the floor as blood surround the remains of the monsters. Breathing heavily, Ahsoka calmed herself down, then went to check on Chewbacca.
Down the other way, the other Voxyn continued its dance with the other two men and droids, as they moved around it before attacking then dodging. The monster soon caught on and began to hurl several mucus shot around the area. One of the BX Commandos was hit, but it still moved while the acid burned away its torso. One of the other mucus shots hit Starkiller's tunic armor, which made the man scream. "Agh, it burns!" he yelled in agony.
Snarling at seeing its prey in pain, the Voxyn moved to attack, but was forced back by Rex who rammed into it using his armor. Then, with his jet pack, he was able to carry the monster up in the air. Once high enough, Rex turned off the jets as he and the Voxyn started to fall. Using this to his advantage, he fired his blasters at the underbelly of the monster. As the ground grew closer, the jetpack turned back on as Rex floated above the floor, then moved out of the way before his enemy landed hard with a thud.
However, Rex saw that the Voxyn wasn't dead, as it snarled in anger at the clone solider. Seeing this, he continued to fire at the creature as it charge forward and knocked him down. Before it could end him, the Voxyn was stopped by the Droid Commando it hit earlier. It used it's vibroblade to pin the monster down through the floor before shutting down.
Roaring in pain, the Voxyn snarled at the others while trying to free itself. As it continued, two of the Magnaguards came forward and struck the beast with their staffs. Bolts of electrical energy surround the Voxyn as it roared in pain.
Then Rex heard a sizzling sound as he saw the blade fall off from where it had been placed. "It's using it's acid inside itself to melt the blade," he thought, as the monster started to free itself despite the Magnaguards attempts to shock and kill the creature. As it got closer, the Voxyn was ready to hurl it's mucus again, it stopped as another blade was hurled right into its head. Blood poured from this spot as it dropped dead. Seeing this the Guards stopped as they rejoined the other droids.
Looking back, Rex saw Chewbacca had been the one to throw one of his Wookie swords at the creature. "Thanks for that," Rex repiled as Ahsoka helped him up.
Saying something that sounded like your welcome, the Wookie came over to pull out his sword. Ahsoka and Rex went to check on Starkiller who was hurt but able to stand, Minus the lose of his tunic which melted away.
"Are you alright?" Ahsoka asked as she checked him out.
"I'll live, thanks," he responded, getting back up. "So any idea where those Vong went?"
"I'm not sure, but if we reach out to locate the strike team, that might tell us where to go," Ahsoka suggested.
"Just be careful you two. We don't know if there are any more Voxyn nearby," Rex cautioned. Both replied they would be careful of this. Reaching out with the Force they focused on trying to find the others. At first there was nothing, then sensed a group of individuals on the other side of the ship.
"Found them!" both said then took off with the others following them. "I hope the others are on their way," Rex stated as the ran.
"If I know Juno and Kota, they're coming," the man in front of him replied.
(Space)
Far away just outside the Myrkr system, a fleet of the ships the time travelers had chosen were floating among the stars.
Standing on the bridge of the lead Destroyer Guardian, General Kota took a deep breath as he found himself back in the real world and onboard a ship that he never imagined commanding.
His new senses allowed him to see things more clearly as he saw the three woman coming his way appearing as silhouettes of light to him. Beside them were the various tactical and engineer droids at the different stations.
"General, are you okay?" Juno asked him.
"I'm fine, just getting used to this new form of seeing."
Hearing this made Juno, Padme and Bo wonder what his ability was like. But before they could ask anymore questions, a protocol droid approached the four. It was colored red with white markings.
"General Kota, our ships report they are ready to make the jump to Myrkr. Shall we give the order to move ahead?" the droid asked the General.
"Wait! Given the size of our fleet, we should only take a small group of it to Myrkr," Bo said, cutting off Kota's response, then continued. "If we show up with all our ships, we would be letting the enemy know about the size of our strength."
"She's right," Padme said next. "It would be wise to send the rest of the fleet to the rendezvous point. This way we won't lose all of our resources at once."
"Hmm, I agree with you two. All right then, will take the Guardian, the Orion, Corvette's, Light Cruisers and two Control Ships with us. Send the orders to the others ships, um..." Kota said, unaware of the Droid's designation.
"K-4TS is what I'm called, sir."
"I see, thank you for letting me know." After this the General turned to await for their departure, while the women made their way to the turbolift. Outside the ship, the fleet broke off as the orange Star Destroyer along with its dark blue counterpart and support ships jumped to hyperspace. while the remaining ships went off to await them at the rendezvous location.
It took several minutes for their lift to make it to the lower level. Once it stopped, the three walked towards the hanger and into the large space where several ships were waiting for them. There were also numerous Vulture Droid Starfighters who walked on their legs while looking at the new arrivals. Two of the woman noticed one of the ships next to theirs was a N-1 Naboo Starfighter, considered to be a classic by many.
"I take it the yellow one is yours, Senator?" Bo asked with a smirk.
"It is and please call me Padme, Ms. Katan," she replied back with a slight smile.
"Now, now, ladies, let's get ready," Juno stated as she saw PROXY come over to her.
"Ah, Captain Eclipse, there you are. Could you tell me where we are, where is Master Starkiller, and who these two women are?" the droid questioned, noticing her companions.
"It's a long story PROXY. I will explain both where's on the ship. This is Padme Amidala and Bo-Katan Kyrze. Ladies, this is PROXY. He's a holodroid and companion of Starkiller," Juno responded as she introduced the droid to the two women.
After this, Bo walked over to her ship while Padme went to change into her pilot's uniform. Once dressed, she saw a Astromech droid approach her. It was a different model than her old droid, R2-D2; the head had a cone-like shape, but with the point cut off. It also had green markings on its panels and dark green paint on its head. The droid beeped, saying that he was going to be her copilot in the N-1.
"I see, it's nice to meet you," Padme responded before the droid continued. "R4-LK, that's interesting number, hope things go well for us," she answered then walked with him to their ship. Once inside, she started up the systems, then heard a voice from the Destroyer's intercom.
"All hands, we are about to enter the Myrkr system. Prepare for battle," said a mechanical voice.
The blur of hyperspace vanished as real space returned, and the Droid Starfighters took off as soon as they received the order.
"Alright, let's go," Padme said as her ship rose upwards then moved forward out of the hanger. The Rogue Shadow and Bo's fighter followed suit.
Outside, the fighters flew out of the Destroyers and Control Ships towards the massive Worldship that floated above the forest planet. Flying alongside Padme were Vulture Droids, Tri Droid Fighters and Hyena Droid Bombers. Taking the lead along with her comrades, Padme checked in.
"This is Royal One, standing by."
"Copy Royal One, this is Shadow Leader standing by," Juno replied.
"Satine's Blade, standing by," Bo added.
"This is the Guardian. We acknowledge you will keep the Vong busy as long you can until we hear from the rescue team," Kota spoke from the bridge.
"Understood General. May the Force be with us," Juno said as she lead the charge in their first attack on the enemy.
(Yuuzhan Vong Worldship)
In the command center of the Worldship, numerous Yuuzhan Vong officers were monitoring the living systems of the different areas and also checked for the Jeedai team. As they looked, a small peep went off from one of the screens. An officer came over to investigate, then got the attention of his superior.
"Sir you must see this," the Vong said in a gravely voice.
"What is it?" Kar Malesh, the commander of the Worldship replied.
"Our sensors have detected a fleet of vessels approaching us."
Kar thought it was an error of some kind, then when he looked out at space, he saw there was indeed a fleet of ships coming their way.
"Launch our Coralskippers and Assault Cruisers, destroy those mechanical machines!" the commander ordered as the others scrambled to their consoles.
"Shall I inform Executor Nom Anor of this sir?" one of the subordinates asked.
"NO, I don't need him knowing of this. He has his own mission and this is ours," Kar barked, then turned to watch their ships head out to confront the enemy.
"This is a good day for us. The gods will be pleased by our victory," the Commander said to himself with a wicked grin.
