Chapter 6

(Space)

Juno watched as strange looking ships were heading their way. The scanners showed what looked like odd colored fighters, with several cone nozzles in the front. Then it showed what looked like a scorpion in her opinion, but it was wide and also had numerous nozzles on it.

"Do you see what I see?" Bo asked over the comm channel.

"I do, those small ones must be Vong fighters, the bigger ones like some kind of cruisers," Juno repiled.

As the ships got closer, Juno gave the order for the Droid fighters to attack. The Tri droids flew ahead, firing their lasers which missed the enemy. This surprised the three pilots, and they soon took evasive actions flying around or over the incoming ships. Several of the Droid fighters were smashed to pieces by the enemy who fired some kind of substance that melted them away.

The same thing happened again as a blue like goo landed on the front hull of the Rogue Shadow, causing damage to it.

"It's some kind of acid that's tearing through our armor!" PROXY reported.

"Increase power to the shields," Juno responded, then turned the ship around and began firing the laser cannons at the enemy. Like before, they missed again, which caused her to wonder why.

"They must have some kind of defector shield on those fighters," she pondered.

"I've noticed that too," Bo responded while she was in pursuit of two enemy ships from behind.

"The Droid fighters have missiles equipped with Buzz Droids, maybe they take down what these things have?" Padme suggested

"Worth a try," said Juno.

She sent the order to three Vulture Droids off to her left, and they fired two missiles at the Vong fighters which exploded into small fragments that landed on the enemy ships. On the hull of one, the Vong pilot saw small looking mechanical things crawl over its ship, then start to tear pieces of the ship off.

Moving the craft left and right, trying to shake them off failed as the Buzz Droids soon swarmed the cockpit. Unable to see the pilot soon crashed into one of the Vongs cruisers

"It worked Padme, but let's make sure not to use up all of the Buzz Droids!" Juno remarked.

"I agree, those cruisers are coming in range. Look's like it's Kota's turn," Padme said as she saw their forces approaching the fleet.

The Star Destroyers began firing turbolasers as did the Light Cruisers, Corvette's and Control Ships. While some struck the hull of the Vong cruisers, the other shots missed. The enemy reacted by firing what looked like rocks that were propelled by hot orange plasma. Striking the underbelly of the lead Destroyer, the ship shook from the impact as alarms sounded.

"Breach on the lower levels." one of technician droids responded.

"Seal off those levels and try to avoid whatever they're firing at us!" Kota ordered, as one of the light cruisers was destroyed.

"Get the rest of our ships out of range from their attacks!" He ordered.

'I hope things are going well for you Starkiller.' the older man thought to himself.

(Yuuzhan Vong Worldship)

Following the two Force users, the rescue team had been lucky as they had not run into any Yuuzhan Vong warriors. As they moved everyone felt the ship shake. Touching the walls of the massive vessel both Force users could sense the battle going on outside.

"Looks like Kota and others have arrived," Starkiller smiled.

"Good to know, and now if we can find the strike team, we can all get out of here," repiled Rex.

They moved on for a bit until coming to a dead end. Looking around to the right, Chewie saw what looked like a lift with a black stone on a pedestal. Gesturing to it, the Wookie walked on to the lift first and the others followed him. Pressing the stone, the platform rose up towards the higher levels of the ship. Once it reached the highest level, everyone stepped off on to a walkway that was against the wall to the left.

The group moved forward in an uneasy silence. After walking for some time, Starkiller stopped as he felt something. Placing his hand against the wall to his left, he reached out to the Force to understand what it was.

"What is it?" Ahsoka asked.

"There's something on the other side of this wall, I can feel it," he replied.

Coming over to him, Ahsoka did the same thing as she reached out, and on the other side she sensed a group of beings all of whom were strong in the Force. This made her smile a bit but then she sensed a feeling of danger as well.

"We found them," she said calmly.

"And they're not alone. I can feel the presence of many Voxyn as well," Starkiller added with a frown. "Let's get them out of there."

Rex and Chewbacca placed several explosives on the wall. After activating the timer, the group retreated to a safe distance as the bombs went off.

The explosion sent off a cloud of black smoke as a large portion of the wall was blown inward, the pieces falling into the levels below.

Clearing away the smoke, the four peered inside to find what looked like an arena. The place looked circular with several levels spreading out, and all around the place were Yuuzhan Vong warriors and many Voxyns fighting against a group of Jedi.

From their view, it was hard to see what the group looked like, but Ahsoka and Starkiller sensed danger from this area and they also felt one of the Jedi was close to death.

"We need do something and fast!" Ahsoka cried.

"I know what to do," Starkiller answered. Then he came over and whispered his plan to Ahsoka, who then nodded in reply.

"Okay got it," she said as he walked back to get some distance.

"What's going on, what's the plan?" Rex asked.

"You'll see," she said. A smile formed as she asked the two stand back.

Below in the arena, the Jedi strike team were holding their own against the overwhelming attacks from both the Vong and the Voxyn. One of the members, Jaina Solo, fought on as she brought her blade down against the Vong's ambistaffs and the limbs of the Voxyn.

She was tired and her body ached from the constant fighting. Nearby, her brother Anakin was feeling the same as he held his own. But he too was in serious pain, and she felt his presence getting weaker. This mission had been his idea and it had gone wrong. Many members of their team had been killed or gotten separated. It felt like this was the end for them.

Pushing with the Force, Anakin slashed left and right with his blade, cutting away arms, legs and everything else that was in his path. Then he found himself knocked back, with a Vong warrior standing above him, ready to bring down its staff.

Before this happened, Anakin saw that time was moving slower, as the warrior had stopped. He noticed the same thing happen to the others, and feeling a strange presence, the young man found himself being lifted up into the air out of the arena.

The same thing occurred to the other Jedi who looked puzzled at this strange feeling. Once high enough they were pushed back against the far walls, and it felt like a someone was holding them in place.

Something powerful was then felt as everyone saw what looked like a man fall down towards the arena. 'What was that?' The Jedi all thought together as they watched what transpired.

As he got closer, Starkiller called upon the Force as he gathered up energy first. Then he unleashed blasts of Force Lighting, which shot downward. As time resumed, the Vong and Voxyn were surprised to see that the Jedi were gone. Then hearing what sounded like a storm, the aliens looked up to see blasts of blue lightning rain down on them.

The attack struck everywhere, and the warriors and monsters writhed in pain as the energy moved around them like serpents of rage. Getting closer, Starkiller intensified the attack, which soon made the enemy start dropping one by one.

As he descended, Starkiller was able to use the lighting as an anchor to help him slow down. Once he was above the enemy, Starkiller ceased the attack then moved forward with his lightsabers in hand to strike at a high speed.

Within minutes, all remaining enemies were cut down, leaving only the remains of death. Starkiller breathed heavily for a minute as he looked around at the carnage. Calming himself, he deactivated his sabers then began to jump out of the arena. He used the force to pull out a large piece of the arena to create a platform.

The Jedi who watched this were amazed and shocked at what they just witnessed. One man had killed over dozens of Yuuzhan Vong warriors and the Voxyn like it nothing. They also felt how strong this stranger was in the Force. His prescence was like that of their leader and teacher: Luke Skwalker.

But before they could continue to wonder, they saw a floating platform rise up as the stranger brought it towards them. They felt themselves loosened from their grips as they were lifted on to the makeshift platform. Afterwords everyone watched as their rescuer lifted them up towards an opening where another stranger was waiting for them, and she used the Force to pull them towards her.

One by one the Jedi got off the platform, then saw it fall downward onto the arena below. The strike team breathed heavily looking both tired and confused as to what just happened.

"Are you all okay?"

Jaina saw a alien woman a few years older then her had been the one to ask this. Standing behind this person was someone who looked like a Stromtrooper, but the armor was a different design. She also saw several types of Droids that looked different any others Jaina had seen.

"We've been better, but who are you people?" she asked, looking at the strangers. Jaina then felt that this woman was strong in the Force, which made her more curious as she knew every Jedi in her Uncle's order and never recalled meeting this woman.

Jania then froze upon seeing someone standing next to their rescuer: it was a Wookie who looked her father's late best friend that died two years at the start of the war.

Seeing his sister looked shocked, Anakin turned and was also stopped at what he saw. The others reacted this way as they saw the Wookie approach a member of their team, who was the same species as him who stood still like he had seen a ghost.

After few minutes of speaking in grunts and growls, the older Wookie embraced the younger one who cried in joy at seeing his uncle again. Then Chewbacca came over to Anakin who stared at him.

"Ch...Chewie is that you?" the young man asked, on the verge of tears.

The Wookie nodded at him and bent down to hug him. Unable to say anything Anakin embraced him.

"Anakin what are you doing! That's not Chewie, it could be a Vong agent wearing a ooglith masquer!" Jaina responded looking concerned.

Hearing this made the Wookie feel sad. He had forgotten that it had been sometime since they last saw him. It would make sense that she would think that he's a enemy in disguise.

Coming over to her, Ahsoka put her hand on Jaina's shoulder "I know you think that he's not who he says he is, but this is Chewbacca. If you don't believe me then trust with the Force."

Taking in these words, Jaina did just that, as did the others who closed their eyes and breathed slowly. Sensing the presence of the four strangers, everyone could feel the light side surround the them, and a familiar sight from the Wookie.

Memories suddenly came to the young woman as she remembered all the times that Chewbacca had saved her, Jacen, Anakin and there family many times from various enemies. Seeing this brought tears to her eyes

Opening their eyes, everyone couldn't believe it, but the Force didn't lie as they looked Chewbacca who smiled at them then came over to Jaina who started at him "I...I don't know how this possible, but," she tried to speak but couldn't as she hugged him.

Watching this, Anakin tried to get back up to go over to his sister. But he had trouble from the wounds he sustained earlier. Noticing this, Rex came to his aid. He pulled out a medical capsule and applied some bacta gel to him and helped bandage the cuts.

"There you go, that should hold for now," Rex said.

"Thank you, um...," Anakin answered, somewhat awkwardly.

"I'm called Rex, and that's Ahsoka and Starkiller," the solider repiled, then gestured to his companions.

"I'm Anakin Solo, the one with Chewbacca is my sister Jaina, and others are Alema Rar, Lowbacca, Tahiri Velia, Tekli, Tenel Ka, Tesar Sebatyne and Zekk." Hearing this was a surprise for Rex, as this young man was Padme's grandson and the young woman was her granddaughter. But he kept his reaction down as not to draw attention.

He also noticed that several of the Jedi were young, not one of them was a adult. And they were a mix of different races including Twi'lek, Barabel, Chandra-Fan, Wookie and Human.

"How did you find us?" Anakin asked, getting the clone's attention.

"We were sent to rescue you. We also know about your mission to destroy the Voxyn Queen, did you mange to destroy her?" he responded.

"The Queen escaped before we could get to her, and two of our team members are missing. They might have gone after her," Anakin answered.

"Hold on, how do you know about our mission, only the Jedi Masters and our parents are aware of why we're here," Jaina responded looking puzzled.

"That's going to have to wait. For now, we need to get you and everyone to safety," Starkiller responded to her with a stern look.

While she wanted to continue this conversation, Jaina decided to wait for the time being "Okay fine, but once we are out of here, you will tell us what we want know!"

"Good, now who can stand?" Ahsoka asked next as she saw four of the nine raise their hands "You four help those who can't out walk, while we handle the enemy."

"You heard her, let's move everyone!" Anakin stated as Rex helped him stand up then was given over to Tenel. Alema helped Tahiri, Zekk got Jaina and Tesar used her strength to aid Lowbacca.

They then followed their rescuers as the large group began to look for a way out of this nightmare of a ship.
