Chapter 9

(Millennium Falcon)

Far away in another system, the Millennium Falcon was flying away from Coruscant, as the capital planet of the New Republic had fallen.

In the cockpit, Han Solo began to plot in a course away while Leia was checking the ship's systems. She then stopped, which made her husband look at her.

"Leia? Something wrong?" Han asked.

"I'm not sure, but I feel that something has happened," she replied with a look of puzzlement.

Han wondered what that meant, but he decided to hold off on asking as he input the coordinates to a jump point away from here. Within minutes the blur of hyperspace appeared, Han then went back to check on Luke and Mara.

Among them was R2-D2, a few soldiers and a young boy who looked like Anakin. He was by himself as his mother and sisters had been left behind on Coruscant during the attack.

It's possible that the boy would end up with the Refugees, which would be dangerous as the Yuuzhan Vong targeted those escaping during a battle.

"How you two doing?" He asked his brother and sister in law.

"Okay so far, but I'll feel better once I see Ben again," Mara replied with a slight smile. Han knew that she and Luke missed their infant son, but the young Skywalker was safe with C-3PO and Lando, who were taking him to the base at Eclipse.

"So where are we heading?" Luke asked him.

"We're going to a jump point first, then off to Tatooine to make repairs. I've got a friend at Mos Eisely who can help us out."

This surprised the two to learn they were going to Luke's home planet, as he hadn't been there in many years.

"You sure that's a good idea? How do we know there aren't any Peace Brigade members there or that your friend can be trusted?" Mara questioned.

"First of all, we won't land in the space port due to the high activity there." Han replied. "Second, we will be sure to be careful in case the Brigade is there. And third, my friend is a good guy. I meet him long ago with Chewie, and he owes me," Han finished with a serious look.

Taking in his words carefully, the two agreed with him, then they went up to check on Leia while Han went to the galley to make some food for the long flight.

In the cockpit, the two found Leia in a meditative trance. Not wanting to disturb her, the pair waited until she opened her eyes on her own.

"Everything alright Leia?" Luke asked as he and Mara sat down.

"Well...I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with the kids and their mission." she answered.

"Mmm...If something happened to them, we would have sensed it. But I'm sure they're okay, after all they are Jedi," Mara said.

"But even in these times, being a Jedi is dangerous given how the Vong are hunting us. And worse, Tsavong Lah wants Jacen most of all," Leia replied, thinking of how her son who was the most wanted man in the galaxy.

"I know it seems bleak, but we've been through worse before and have come out strong, and so will they" Luke reassured her. This made Leia feel better for the time being.

"Hopefully we will hear from them soon, til then we must be patient," he said then went back to the hold, leaving Leia and Mara alone to talk with each other.

(Guardian)

Emerging from hyperspace after several hours of travel, the surviving ships found themselves near a large nebula of purple and pink gases in the far outer rim. As they got closer, they soon meet up with the rest of their fleet. Once the ships scanned the area and found no signs of any enemy vessels, the repair crews began their work on the areas that had taken damage.

Inside the meeting room, the time travelers were discussing the events of their first mission. Ahsoka spoke of her group's encounters with the Yuuzhan Vong, the Voxyn and the general layout of the Worldship.

Rex, Starkiller and Chewbacca added their input as well including the way the Vong fight, the living weapons used by the enemy and so on.

Padme went next, speaking of the unusual way the Vong ships were able to alter the space around them. She also spoke about the weapons their ships used and the damage sustained in the fight.

"We lost 3 Lightcruisers, One Corvette, 49 Vulture Droids, 26 Tri-Droid Fighters, 13 Hyena Bombers, making it a total loss of 92 ships in almost two hours," Juno stated, bringing up the losses on her datapad.

"Two of the Frigates took damage as did one of the Droid Control Ships, but they can be repaired. This Destroyer and the Orion were hit hard," K-4 added, looking at information from a screen.

"Our fighters also took a beating, but can still fly for now," Padme said, then looked over at Rex. "How's the strike team doing?"

"They got hurt badly, but are being treated. All of them will make a recovery in time," he replied, then took a deep breath as he looked back at Padme. "Also, three of the Jedi we rescued happen to be your grand kids Sena-I mean Padme," Rex said, correcting himself.

Padme was surprised upon hearing this. She turned to Chewbacca who nodded yes to her. A part of her was happy to know that her family was onboard this ship. Once things were done here, the Medical Bay was Padme's next stop.

"That reminds me, if the other Jedi ask us anything, tell them to wait, for now," Kota stated with a firm look.

"General, Padme's granddaughter insisted that she be told who we are when we got to safety. And I told her that would happen," Starkiller replied back to him and the others.

Sighing at this, Kota wished he had been told this before. They needed to figure out what to say when they meet Luke and the other Jedi, but he realized speaking to Padme's grandchildren was the first step in gaining help in this new era.

"Alright then, Ahsoka, Chewbacca and you will go with Padme to talk to her family. I suggest you four practice what you're going to say first," he said to the three.

"While they do that, I'm going to work on fixing the Rogue Shadow," Juno said as she got up to leave.

"I'm going to do target practice," Bo added as she put a helmet on then went on her way.

"I'll start making a report on the enemy for future use," Rex stated next.

"I will be in my quarters." the Jedi Master said last as he and K-4 left the room.

Once alone the four remaining members began to talk about what they where going to say.

(Medical Bay)

After six hours of medical attention, Jacen, Jaina and Anakin were placed in one room together where they could recover.

The three of them were resting on the beds wearing blue medical gowns while their clothes were being fixed and washed. They were enjoying the peace and quiet after their life or death encounter on the Worldship.

But the silence was short lived. The door opened and Ahsoka, Starkiller and Chewbacca came in carrying trays of food.

"We thought you might be hungry," Ahsoka said, placing the trays down on the desk to their right.

At first the Solo's tried to get up, but Chewbacca told to them to stay on the beds as they need to rest.

"I forgot how protective you could be," Jacen said. He remembered when Chewie would guard him and Jaina when the two were younger.

Chuckling at the remark, the Wookiee then asked them which trays of food they would like. Jacen chose the one with the Bantha Steak, while Jaina and Anakin picked the Nerf Sandwich.

After eating for for a bit, the three looked at their rescuers.

"So now that we're safe, can you tell us how you knew about our mission to Myrkr, and how your group manged to get on the Worldship?" Jaina asked.

Looking at the each other, the three knew it was time to tell them.

"Okay, before we tell you, what we are going to say may seem hard to believe," Ahsoka said before taking a deep breath.

"Chewbacca, Starkiller and myself are time travelers. We were pulled from across time and space by two powerful beings called the Observers, along with several others to help end the war against the Yuuzhan Vong in this time."

Silence fell upon the room. The Solos were shocked, and their eye's widened by what had been said. The three travelers waited quietly, as they could see it was going to take time for the young Jedi to process this information.

After five minutes of silence, Jaina broke it by speaking first.

"Forgive me for being to direct, but that's harder to believe then seeing a Hutt lose weight!" she said, a little annoyed. "Even if we did believe what you're saying, time travel is impossible."

"That's exactly what one of our comrades said. While no technology exists that can send a person through time, it can be done by beings of great power as we were told," Starkiller replied with a serious look

"By these Observers? Who are they and why would they send you?" Jacen questioned as he was interested in learning about these beings.

Ahsoka answered this by telling him and his siblings about what they had been told before, how the Observers watch over the different aspects of life itself across the universe, their rule of never interfering with those on the mortal plain and how they said that the Jedi and Sith of old would want them on their sides.

She told them of the where she and the others were pulled from with her, Rex and a friend of theirs coming from five years after the Empire was created.

Starkiller went next as speaking of how he and his companions were from the early years of the Rebellion.

Chewbacca spoke of how he was saved from Serpendal two years ago before it's moon crashed into the planet.

(They left out Thrawn for the time being as they didn't know where he was)

"And that's how we came here," Ahsoka finished, looking a little exhausted as she went to get a glass of water.

Chewie then asked them if they believe them now?

"Well it's still sounds hard to accept, but anything is possible, I guess!" Anakin replied. He then looked at the Wookie.

"Chewie...I never got to say this, but I'm sorry for what happened on Serpendal," the youngest Solo stated with a sad look.

Jacen and Jaina had a feeling that their brother would want to talk to him about this, after they learned that Chewbacca was alive.

The lose of their father's oldest friend was hard for their family, especially for Han who blamed Anakin for Chewie's death. This lead him to a dark depression for awhile as Han distanced himself from everyone. It took time, but Han was able to forgive his son.

Seeing his sad face, Chewbacca sat down on the bed which made Anakin look up to at him, then saw the Wookiee speak for a bit in grunts.

"(Anakin. I don't blame you for what happened, my life debt to your father is not only meant for him, but to those he cares about including you, Jacen, Jaina, Leia, Luke, Mara and even those two droids. I am proud to have you part of my life and would do anything to protect you and the others!)" he said in his own words.

Hearing this made Anakin tear up knowing that Chewie didn't hate him for what happened. He wiped away the tears as the Wookiee give him a hug.

Outside the room, Padme had been listening in on the conversation. She started to feel sad at what she just heard and learning what her grandson had been through. Originally she was going to introduce herself after Ahsoka and the others had told them about who they were. Padme decided that now wasn't the time, as they were dealing with Chewbacca's return.

Jaina sensed this, which puzzled her, as this new presence felt similar to that of her mother. Ahsoka also picked up on this as well as she felt Padme leave.

Before Jaina could ask what she just felt, Ahsoka excused herself as she went after Padme. This left Jaina to wonder what it was that her new acquaintance had gone after?
