Pure Intentions? Chapter 44

A/N: I would like to apologize for the extremely long hiatus in updating this story. I've been dealing with serious writer's block and stuck on how move this story forward. We've reached a turning point in the story and I haven't been able to make up my mind as to whom I want to focus the next chapter on. This has made it very difficult for me to write as it has impacted my inspiration. I've had all these thoughts in my head, but finally decided to just sit and write and see where the story wants to take me.

I recently watched Netflix Part 2 of Revelations. Personally, I found things that I loved and hated about the series. However, I did find that it reawakened my zeal to write about this fandom. I was particularly happy to see that the show touched upon Teela's background history and relationship with the Sorceress as my stories focus highly on this 'secret'. I had wished that there was more interaction between Adam and Teela perhaps beginning to explore a romantic relationship, but alas that's what these stories that I write are for.

I'd like to dedicate this chapter to a dear friend's husband that recently passed. K.F.D you know who you are. I hope you find comfort in reading this chapter as a means of lessening your burden.

Adam knew that he couldn't take Trap-Jaw's assault for much longer. Exhausted from lack of sleep, his breath catching within his broken ribs, and fear for Teela's well-being were taking a toll on his strength. The prince knew that unless there was some outward intervention, he would be losing this fight. Anger the likes he had never experienced before exploded within him, causing a surge of new adrenaline to flood his vessels. Struggling against his captor, Adam let out a loud growl as he forcibly buckled his hips thus dislodging Trap-Jaw from atop. With lighting speed, Adam quickly reversed their positions pinning Trap-Jaw beneath him. Looking wildly around him, his blue eyes landed on a loosened rock laying beside the Gar's head. Picking it up, Adam raised it high over his head preparing to smash Trap-Jaw's mandible with it.

Suddenly, a bright celestial light accompanied by a thunderous boom engulfed the cell causing everyone to lose sight in front of them. Closing his eyes and covering his ears to protect them from the loud noise, Adam slipped off of Trap-Jaw. Sitting beside him he cradled his head as he took in several much-needed deep breaths and tried to bring inner balance to the commotion the explosion brought him. After a few quick breaths, the prince opened his eyes to peruse his environment and to discern what had caused the massive explosion.

To his astonishment, Trap-Jaw was no longer lying on the floor. Rather, he was trussed up against the wall, his arms bound above his head by thick magical bonds, his metal jaw lying broken by his feet. Turning his head, Adam saw that Beastman was in a similar confined state on the other side of the cell.

Rubbing his eyes to clear them from the continued brightness in the room, Adam then crawled to where he knew Teela to be. Reaching out to her, he scooped her up into his embrace before finally raising his head to see who or what 'saved' them.

The prince stared in awe at the sight before him. A winged woman with long red-hair floated on the precipice of the cell, her long billowing wings clasped in front of her. Adam recognized the color of the hair to be a descendent of his love; however, he didn't recognize who was standing before him. Behind the mystical mage, Adam could make out the floating red robes of his Trollan friend, thus the prince knew that this was a friend rather than foe. Seeing Orko there, boosted the heir's spirits. He didn't need to know who the other entity was to know that this was the rescue he was just praying for.

Feeling confident that he and Teela were no longer in harms way, he turned to gloat at his once captor's. Turning behind him, Adam noticed that Count Marzo and Stephania were frozen in place. Skeletor was floating mid-air caught in an impenetrable bubble that Adam knew was created by non-other than Orko.

Speechless, Adam watched as the winged woman directed her magic toward the filming equipment that were still rolling. Without uttering a verbal spell, the disguised Sorceress emitted a powerful beam-like light from the center of her forehead obliterating the cameras one right after the other.

Frozen in place, Skeletor had no choice but to watch as a magic wielder he was not familiar with foil his fun. Shooting successive magical beams from the palm of his hands, the owner of Snake Mountain attempted to escape his prison, but to no avail. His own magic would turn inwards attacking him causing massive burns on his own body. Deciding he wasn't inclined to self-injury, Skeletor accepted his fate. This winged woman was definitely a more well-trained and stronger mage than he was. Perusing the prison cell and taking in the now melting metal rods of what used to be his cameras, Skeletor decided it was time he high-tailed it out of there.

With a quick glance around him, he took in Marzo's and Stephania's startled gazes as they remained frozen in place. True to his selfish nature, Skeletor did nothing about the condition of his teammates. Beginning to utter a disappearing spell, Skeletor stopped mid-sentence as the winged woman unclasped her wings creating a vortex around her, debris loosening from the grimy walls and floating outwards of the cell. As the walls began to fall apart, humanoid shapes began to appear. Before long, all of the Rock People's children filled the cell.

This winged creature had just found the missing children. At this, Skeletor snapped his fingers to open his own dimensional portal inside of his bubble, giving him his much-needed escape.

With Skeletor gone, Trap-Jaw and Beastman tied up against the walls, and Marzo and Stephania frozen only Evil-Lyn remained free. Taking off her black spiky headpiece, she bowed low in deference to the magic wielder now standing in front of her. Skeletor may not have recognized who this was, but Evil-Lyn sure did. There in the cell, having come to save Teela and Prince Adam was none other than Queen Veena herself. Having spent many years studying all of Eternia's formidable magic users, Evil-Lyn was sure to recognize the first Sorceress of Grayskull. Knowing that she didn't stand a chance fighting against Grayskull's former Queen, Evil-Lyn awaited her arrest. She didn't have long to wait. She felt the cold hard shackles bound her wrists and legs together that were produced by Orko's magic. As soon as she was hog-tied, Evil-Lyn felt herself disintegrating into individual atoms as Orko had also uttered a decomposition spell, her essence being sucked into the vortex created by Queen Veena. Within seconds, the cells that used to make up Evil-Lyn's body floated harmlessly into the night air.

When Evil-Lyn disappeared, Queen Veena turned her eyes onto Count Marzo and his nefarious daughter. With a winded kiss from the disguised Sorceress's red lips, both Stephania and Count Marzo began breaking into a million little pieces which quickly joined Evil-Lyn's particles in the night air.

Once the cell was devoid of all the evil warriors, Orko turned to Adam and brandished the Power Sword. Without any words, the Trollan handed Adam his sword and wordlessly watched as the prince gingerly laid Teela down. Hiding behind the disguised form of the Sorceress, Orko waited for Adam to say the words that would transform him into the most powerful man in the universe.

Raising the Power Sword high above his head with what little strength remained in his battered body, Adam stared at Teela as he yelled "BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL". As soon as the incantation left his lips the heavens above thundered as streaks of lighting beamed all around Snake Mountain enveloping it in a brightness the likes the Dark Hemisphere had never experienced before. Adam stood in the midst of the lighting storm as a beam zigzagged directly toward his path. Making contact with the tip of his sword, the lighting quickly spread down the blade and traveled toward Adam's hand. Feeling the first burn of power, the prince knew it wouldn't be long before his entire body transformed as he wielded his ancestor's power. In front of Teela, Adam transformed into the powerful He-Man, defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull. This was the first time that Adam transformed into He-Man in front of Teela. With the transformation complete, the prince grabbed the sword in his mighty fists in front of his chest as he proclaimed, "I HAVE THE POWER". As soon, as He-Man uttered those words, the winged woman collapsed to the floor transforming back into the Sorceress of Grayskull.

Adam know knew that the woman who had come to their rescue was none other than the Sorceress of Grayskull herself. Adam knew that Teela-Na had once again made the ultimate sacrifice. She jeopardized her own life to come save that of her daughter's. Knowing the real reasons the Sorceress had given Teela up, Adam marveled at the lengths a parent would go for their offspring. He knew there was no greater love than that between a parent and their child.
