Chapter 11:
*Still Flashback*
He slowly let himself kiss me back as my lips pressed against his as if it would save me from whatever danger was lurking. He pulled away and glanced around, probably checking for the nurse, which made me giggle! He would just act all smooth and carefree, like it was perfectly fine to be making out on the floor of the hospital wing. "Get back in bed Phoebe, now." he said, trying to get up, but I held him down with all my might.
"I like it down hereeee…with y-you." I hiccupped and then looked up at him with the best puppy-dog face I had in me. I couldn't understand why I was acting like this, but it was fun. His eyes softened and he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before wrapping me in his arms. "What are you doing to me?" he mumbled into my hair and then picked me up and put me into the bed again.
I snorted when he let me go, leaving me to sit in the bed like a child who was just in trouble. I crossed my arms and pouted as he continued to look around and stare at me every once in a while. "What the hell did that crazy lady give you?" he asked himself and I shrugged, then it hit me. The burn was back and my head was beginning to hurt, every ounce of pain was back and surging throughout my body. "Sirius!" I cried out and he got up and came over, worried for me. "What is it?" "It hurts!" I cried, tears falling already as I wriggled around, trying to get it to stop hurting.
"Stop moving girl!" a voice came and the nurse was back, holding a wand, flicking it toward me. My body stopped moving and I felt the pain starting to fade and slip away. The nurse turned to Sirius and snapped at him, "I thought I said for her not to move! The medicine doesn't work if she is moving!" Sirius looked sad and clearly still worried for me, which made the nurse stop her scolding and look between us. She sighed and waved her wand, which made a pop sound, then a house elf was there.
"Would you mind getting them some tea and snacks?" the elf happily nodded and then vanished with another pop sound. I couldn't move my body at all, so I just stared at the ceiling. I was so scared the pain would return if I moved or even spoke, so I laid there silently. The nurse said the elf would get us food, that she would be back in a few minutes and for me not to move at all. She lifted the spell on me, but I listened hard this time and didn't move my body anymore, only to breathe.
"Phoebe? Are you alright now?" Sirius asked and I didn't reply, too scared the pain would come back. He moved closer to me and I met his eyes as best I could. "Talk to me…" he paused and looked back to where the nurse left. "Or do you think the pain will come back?" I blinked for yes, and I guessed he understood cause he sighed and shook his head. "I'm sorry that you was in such pain Phoebe, if I had listened and just made you stay still.." he trailed off and I felt bad for him, but wasn't about to move.
I wanted to go to him, but wouldn't, I just watched him from the corner of my eyes. "I have to go now Phoebe, I have to get to class." he stood up and looked down at me, "I can come back later if you would like. Blink once for yes, twice for no." I blinked once and he grinned at me. "Then I will be back later." he quickly leaned down and pressed his lips to mine as softly as he could, making my heart skip a beat. "Until later Phoebe." he breathed against my cheek and then disappeared.
*End Flashback*
I snapped out of it and blinked a few times, unable to tell where I was. I walked around a corner and saw I had been sitting in a crevice, thinking about the past…once again. I heard students talking and whispering to each other and saw Harry, Hermione, and Ron walking down the hall to their class. I followed after them, silencing the others as I walked to catch up. Hermione suddenly spoke to them in a hush tone, then turned and entered the library.
I decided against talking to Harry in front of his friends and stopped following them, instead heading back to my room. I let out Rain and then curled into the bed, I didn't feel like doing anything, there was no voice I heard, there was no Chamber of Secrets, I would have found it in all my days of searching when I was a student here. I had read the legend in Hogwarts, A History, just like everyone else, except I was determined to find it and show everyone that I was useful.
I drifted off to sleep, dreaming of my younger years, running and searching every room and pathway to find the Chamber of Secrets…yet found nothing. I awoke to the sound of Rain pecking at the window, which I had meant to leave open for her. I let her in and climbed back into, seeing it was dark outside and I should get some more sleep. I tossed and turned for a while, then finally sleep took me and I had no more dreams of the past.
I woke up early, letting Rain out and leaving the window open this time before getting dressed. I wore a simple green gown, a split to the knee and long flowing sleeves that made me seem like a great and ancient witch, which made me smile. I pulled my hair up into a tight ponytail, in case a teacher needed some help and put on some high heels. I tied a chain around my hips and let it drape down, then put my wand in it to hold.
I left the room and saw students already up and moving about, heading for their classes. I caught the bushy hair of Hermione and the bright red hair of Ron before I saw Harry, they were headed to History of Magic class. I followed and slipped into the room as the lecture began. I was so bored, I hated this class when I was here and I still hate it. Hermione raised her hand and everyone looked utterly amazed.
She asked about the Chamber, which Professor Binns quickly dismissed, however, the girl was very forward and finally got him to agree to speak about it, seeing his classroom at full attention for the first time. "You all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over thousand years ago - the precise date is uncertain - by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age. The four school Houses are named after them: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclas, and Salazar Slytherin. They built this castle together, far from the prying Muggle eyes, for it was an age when magic was feared by the common people, and witches and wizards suffered much persecution." He said and I realized I might learn something I didn't know back then, after all, Binns was the oldest teacher I knew.
He continued his story, saying a rift between Salazar and the others made him leave the school, but he was thought to have built the chamber before leaving. Hermione asked about what was supposed to be in the chamber, but Binns didn't really answer her question. He suddenly got angry with all the questions about the chamber that he was yelling and telling them it was only a myth. I left the classroom and walked down to the Grand hall, hoping that someone else might know something.
