Chapter 54: Sirius's Home

Too soon summer was over and school would be back in shortly. Remus and Sirius had spent most of the days talking with Dumbledore about the order and what plans we needed to make. He told me that I would be a part of the mission to recover Harry from his uncle and aunt's house with Moody and some others, while Remus and Sirius were to do other things. "You'll bring him to my family home Phoebe. I'll be waiting for you." he had whispered into my hair as we said our goodbyes. I wished he would stay with me, that our missions would be together. I felt something in my heart that nothing was going to be the same this year. My mind raced with thoughts as I met up with Moody, Tonks and the others.

I waited outside while they brought him out, he hugged me before Moody told us to get ready. "Phoebe, what's going on?" "Shh, we are taking you somewhere safe. Stay close to me Harry." I told him and we took off on our brooms, he flew as well as James did, it was amazing that they were so similar. He did as I had told him and stayed close, and we arrived without losing anyone. Moody opened the secret door and they went inside, I paused. This was where Sirius had grown up, this was his family's home. Until he ran away to live with James and his family. Knowing that your own family hated you because you didn't believe the same things…and then coming back to the very place where it started…how could he stand to be here?

I shook myself and entered, seeing Harry heading up the stairs at Mrs. Weasley's prompts and I entered the kitchen, seeing the rest of the order waiting already. Sirius and I met eyes and he smiled, I returned it and took my seat beside him. The meeting went on for a while before Molly said she needed to feed all of the kids, we wrapped it up and Sirius asked me to come with him before we went to dinner. The room was covered with a portrait of a family tree, the many limbs with pictures and some were burned away. "This is my family tree Phoebe." he began to point his family out, I searched and saw a burned face with his name under it. "My mother did that." he explained as I ran my fingers along the spot.

"How are you back here? Knowing the painful memories." I asked, running my other hand along his arm, he sighed and shrugged. "Yes, it's annoying. But if it helps the order…I'll bare it. It's the only thing I can do…stuck in the shadows. Unable to help with anything else. I'm useless." "That's not true my love." I told him and pulled him away from the paintings and into my arms. He hugged me tight, as if I gave him safety in this horrible house. "You are far from useless Sirius, believe me." I ran my hand up his shoulder and around his neck, pulling him into a gentle kiss. "Oh! Sorry!" we broke apart and turned to see Harry standing in the doorway.

I released Sirius and he smiled at Harry, who was just stunned with shock. "Ah, yes. Some explaining to do." he ushered him away as I looked back at the photos, so many of his family, some burned away like his. I noticed a branch with Regulus painted under it, seeing the image of someone who bared a similar look of Sirius. I traced my fingers along the brush strokes when I heard a voice behind me. "His brother…" I turned and saw Dumbledore walking in with a smile on his face. "I see. Where is he?" "He's dead…" he breathed and I looked down, it would seem almost all of Sirius's family was gone as well.

Dumbledore and I talked for a bit before Sirius returned and joined us. "Ah, I was just telling Phoebe that I believe it to be best that she remain away from Hogwarts this year." I looked at Albus and shook my head, "And I was saying that to better protect Harry, it would be better if I was at the school. The order is not capable of doing that." "But because of your…connection with the dark lord, being so close to Harry may put him into more danger." I blinked, was that possible? Could I be endangering Harry by being close to him? I was still in my own thoughts when Dumbledore left and Sirius took my hands, pulling me out of my mind.

"Hey, it's okay. Dumbledore will be there to protect him, as well as the other professors. Harry will be safe. You and I can help the order in other ways. Lots of different ways…" he began to kiss along my neck as he spoke, different ways coming to me in a wave of naughty thoughts. I moved and sat on his lap, pressing his face into my chest as he moaned and dug his fingers into my back to hold me closer. I suddenly noticed how exposed we were and pulled back, making him look at me. "Somewhere…more private?" I asked and he smirked and nodded, pulling me by the hand up the stairs.

We entered a room and I saw tons of Gryffindor posters and flags, as well as motorcycles and muggle posters. It was for sure a teenagers room. Sirius closed the door and locked it with a click as I muffled the room with a spell and barrier so no peeking was possible from anyone. Before I could lower my wand, Sirius had moved and pressed his chest against my back, kissing along my neck as he undid the blouse I was wearing. "I believe this is in the way. Better be rid of it." he laughed as he popped the last button and tugged my shirt off, undoing the clasp to my bra in the front as I felt his growing member press against my butt.

After we finished we were laying in his bed, a warm red blanket covering us as we panted. I was listening to his pounding heart as I laid against his chest, feeling so happy in this moment, nothing would ruin this. I wouldn't let it. "Dear god woman, you are amazing. I can barely keep up." I laughed and looked up at him, replying, "I wouldn't say that. That was quite a ride…no pun intended." we laughed together and I sat up, wrapping the blanket around me as I looked at him. His face was flush and his hair was a mess, but this man made me so happy and made me excited for the future.

I leaned over and kissed him gently, loving how we felt together, he seemed much more healthier now. Our kiss deepened and he rolled us until we toppled off the bed with a thud and I laughed as he groaned and propped himself up. "I believe we may have gotten carried away." he said and I smiled at him, rubbing my hand along his beard and pulled his face to mine, pausing to whisper, "Then let's get carried away again." I closed the distance and we made love again and again.

Finally we were both completely exhausted and on the floor of his childhood room, using his teenager bedding to cover ourselves as we began to doze off. "I love you so much Phoebe. You are the love of my life. I want to spend everyday with you, making you happy." he smiled as he shifted and I curled into his arms and smiled. "Sirius…" "Hmm?" he blinked and glanced at me as I closed my eyes. "I…want to…marry you." I mumbled as I drifted into sleep, not hearing if he said anything.

When we woke up, there was a banging on the door, telling us that dinner was finished and to come down with everyone else. We dressed and went downstairs, seeing the table already set and everyone beginning to fill their plates. I sat beside Sirius, my leg brushing against his under the table as we ate happily as a group. "Oi, Phoebe, there's some dust on your face." Bill said and I blushed, quickly using a napkin to wipe my face as Sirius's hand ran along my thigh. Once everyone had finally finished, we were all stuffed and Sirius asked Harry if he had any questions about what had been happening since Dumbledore told us not to tell him anything over the summer.

Molly objected almost instantly and her and Sirius began a very heated argument about what was best for Harry, Lupin and Arthur popping in and out for a quick moment. "He's not James!" Molly had raised her voice and Sirius's fist tightened. "I'm perfectly clear on who he is, Molly." and then she implied something along the lines of him being an bad godfather. Finally she huffed, saying she would be overruled anyways, saying Dumbledore has Harry's best interests at heart until Sirius cut her off. "He's not your son." "He's as good as. Who else has he got?" she retorted and Sirius shot back, "He's got me! And Phoebe!"

"Yes, the thing is, it's been rather difficult for you to look after him while you've been locked up in Azkaban, hasn't it?" Sirius began to rise from his chair and I grabbed his forearm, meeting Molly's gaze. "And what of me? What is my wrong doing in not being there for Harry? Or do you forget that I'm his godmother, just as Sirius is his godfather. Lily and James chose Sirius and myself for Harry, to keep him safe and watch over him. If you're going to take shots at Sirius, you better be prepared to take them at me as well." my voice was calm and her eyes shifted between Sirius and myself. "Phoebe, in all honestly, you have been a determined woman…and yet you have no been there for Harry. He didn't even know you were his godmother until he was a teenager. You could have written to him and helped in protecting him from the moment you seen him at the school. Yet you did nothing."

"Molly, you're not the only person at this table that cares for Harry." Remus said and looked at us, "You two, sit down." his eyes begged us to do so and I pulled Sirius back into his chair, his face white and my hands shaking at Molly's words. I had failed Harry as his godmother, I hadn't been there for him in his younger years, Dumbledore and the others had told me it was best for him to remain at his aunt and uncles, that it was safer. I wanted him to be with me, but they made me see sense. Molly had no idea how hard I fought to keep Harry with those that cared for him. But I trusted Dumbledore. Molly ordered her own children to leave and finally after fighting it was only her youngest, Ginny that was forced to leave.

I stood up myself, I didn't need to hear this, I already knew it anyways. I looked at Molly and shook my head. "Harry, I will see you later. I have some things to take care of." I patted his shoulder and gave the room a quick wave before giving Sirius a small wink as I left. I went back to his room, looking at the things he had from when he was a teenager. There was a photo of him and James from time at James's family house and he seemed so happy. I knew he missed James and Lily as much as I did, I could see why he felt so at ease around Harry, he was like his father in many ways. But I wasn't like Sirius, I knew that they were truly gone and only their son remained, Harry was his own person and I needed to be there for him from now on.

It was a while before Sirius opened the door and I was lounging on his bed, flipping through a magazine about Motorcycles. "My My, such a beautiful woman waiting for me in my bed. How lucky am I?" he asked as I closed the door and bolted it shut, redoing the spells from earlier. I chuckled and laid back, stretching so that he could admire my curves and body as he came closer. "Phoebe…don't do that." he growled and I looked up with a smirk, "Or what?" I teased and he jumped on the bed with a creak and pinned me under him, one hand holding me in place and the other sliding under my shirt. "Or you will had to be punished." he answered and I leaned up, nipping his neck with my teeth, earning a groan from him. "Very well." he said and conjured some ropes with his wand until I was tied with my hands above my head and my legs were tied to the bottom post. "You've been a bad girl. I've gotta teach you a lesson."
