Toru waited until the last day to turn in her internship paperwork. She didn't want her classmates to switch who they were interning with to work with her or do any research on the agency she had chosen.

"Who did you end up choosing, Bakugo?" Jiro asked the desk beside her. It was before class and everyone was chattering excitedly about their pick.

"Best Jeanist." Bakugo said casually. "He was the pro with the highest ranking that sent a request for me."

Best Jeanist should annoy him. I heard he tries to dictate how his sidekicks dress and look, and how they act. Perhaps it will make Bakugo angrier at heroes going there. Toru listened.

"I chose Death Arms! He's pretty tough-!" Jiro smiled.

"Don't care." Bakugo shrugged.

"I care, Jiro!" Toru enthusiastically told her. "Death Arms is a really good pick for you, I think!"

"Who did you guys end up picking?" Jiro asked the people around her.

"I wanted to end up at Bolt's agency with Kaminari, but his mom didn't send a request for me. Rude." Sero joked.

"She doesn't even know you, buddy! And why do you want to work with my Mom?" Kaminari complained.

"She's tough and I thought I could joke around more with a friend." Sero sighed. "I still kind of want to be with friends so I chose an agency in the area. Sticky Traps!"

"That's great! But I doubt my mom will give me any free time. She's a slave driver…" Kaminari complained.

"I ended up going with Medusa's agency." Shoji replied slowly. "She's apparently very good with mutant types, like me. She apparently faced a lot of discrimination in her youth due to her snake hair picking fights with other people and turning them to stone. But I'm hoping she's a really nice person underneath that tough exterior!"

Ojiro gave a sympathetic look. "Good luck, buddy…." He didn't really believe it.

"I'm uhh going to end up at Gran Torino's!" Midoriya said nervously.

Gran Torino? Never heard of him. And he wasn't on the agency list either….Midoriya didn't get any offers so how did he end up with him? It was a bit of a mystery.

"What about you, Hagakure?" Jiro asked as people offered each other congratulations.

"You did figure something out, right?" Shoji asked worriedly.

"If you haven't decided you could go to the Agency I chose, Flash Bulb." Ojiro offered.

Toru waved her hands to indicate she was shaking her head. "I ended up choosing His Purple Highness."

"Huh…? Why?" Shoji looked a little confused.

"Turns out he's based in Kamino and I've heard Kamino has a ton of shopping! Ahh I'm so excited! I love shopping!" Toru giggled, saying something shallow, and very stereotypical.

Jiro frowned. "…Unfortunately, that kinda fits you…But internships are a big deal. Don't you want to choose someone based on strength instead of location? I mean it's not like we're going on vacation."

"Nope! I just really want to go to Kamino! I was watching this television program last night that was talking about it's amazing night market!" Toru shook her arms excitedly. "It's a sign! I gotta go!"

Jiro sighed, giving up on trying to convince Toru out of it. Everyone seemed to believe for a second that Toru was just the type of girl who cared about shopping only.

"How shallow…" Bakugo said under his breath.

Sero was snickering. "God, you're so fun, Hagakure! I also chose based on location! Let's breeze through this internship together!" He stuck his arm out waiting for her to get up and high five him.

Before Toru could give him the air high five Aizawa opened the door to start class. Everyone stopped gossiping as class began.

"If you haven't yet handed in your internship paperwork, please pass it up front." Aizawa requested.

Everyone passed their papers to the front. Aizawa collected them.

"I hope you all thought hard about who to intern with. It might benefit some of you to intern with someone outside your comfort level." Aizawa told them, his gaze flickering to Uraraka and Bakugo. "Internships will start Monday and last the whole week. Remember to pack everything you need because you won't be returning home after each workday. The person you're interning with should arrange somewhere for each of you to stay." Aizawa looked like he was trying to remember something. "And remember, you're all not licensed yet, so you won't be participating in any battles. Stay safe nonetheless."

He set the stack of papers on his desk and continued on with class.

Aizawa was in the staff room during the lunch break. He was flipping through the internship paperwork making sure all the students had handed in their pick before the day ended so he could badger anyone who still needed to hand in paperwork.

The small feeling that something was wrong was still gnawing at his stomach. Iida's choice to intern with Manuel was still in the back of his mind.

"Making sure all the students turned in their paperwork?" Snipe asked.

"Yeah." Aizawa responded, continuing to flip through things. He shook Iida out of his mind. His finger froze as he stopped at Toru Hagakure's agency choice.

His Purple Highness's Agency

His face grew cold.

He put the paper's down. "Vlad, you were in charge of putting together the first-year agency picks, right?"

Vlad was drinking a coffee with a cute lunch box sitting on the table next to him and looking out a window. He was startled by the sound of Aizawa's voice, shaking the table with the cute lunch box and almost dropped his coffee but managed to catch it.

"Whoa! Yep. That was me. Why? Is it not up to your precious Class A's standards?" Vlad mocked. "If you might remember, you were too injured to read through the agencies that had requested UA interns! So, I did it all myself. I threw in all sorts of agencies since Class B wasn't going to end up with as many offers as the famed Class A." He glared at Aizawa wondering if Aizawa was going to pick a fight with him for throwing in some duds.

Aizawa's hands were now trembling. "Did you not do any research on some of the agency's histories? These agencies-"

Vlad King set down his coffee by the cute lunch box and crossed his arms. "I did do my research. I didn't need to heal from being beaten up by the league of villains after all."

Snipe looked worriedly as things started heating up. "Uhh I don't want to be here if there's going to be a big argument." He quickly ducked out of the staff room.

"I threw some duds in there to keep Class B smart and on their toes. It's to encourage them to research things. Are you questioning my choices? Is it not good enough for the spoiled Class A?" Vlad hissed clearly mocking Class A.

"No…It's…" Aizawa took a deep breath and tried to calm his breathing. "Why did you put His Purple Highness's agency on the list? UA hasn't sent students to that agency for years. If you had looked through UA's blacklist, I'm sure you would have found that one. If I had known, it was on the list I would have instantly shot it down."

Vlad blinked. "That agency wasn't on UA's blacklist. What are you talking about?"

It…Wasn't on the blacklist? What…Does he mean? A student died there…Of course it should be on the blacklist…Aizawa gulped. Perhaps it had been enough years that UA had forgiven and forgot. It wasn't the pro's fault anyway.

Vlad's desire to compete with Aizawa seemed to calm down a bit. He looked like he was trying to remember all he knew. "I don't think I've ever seen that agency send us a request for interns in the past…" He looked thoughtful. "They didn't seem all that popular, but it didn't seem bad. I put it on the list to sort of fill it out. And UA's standard is to approve most agencies."

"UA hasn't had any students intern at that agency in 13 years. You shouldn't have auto approved every agency that sent mail, you should have done some research before putting my students in a potentially dangerous situation." Aizawa scolded.

Vlad frowned. "Well now, back up buddy! If you really think that agency's not good enough for your students, you don't have to go all papa bear. You just gotta hope that none of your students were stupid enough to choose the agency that wasn't very popular. If they were, don't blame me for your students' actions." Vlad's temper was rising.

All Might opened the door to eat lunch in the faculty lounge with Present Mic, and Cementoss.

"Actually …Um…I think I'll eat in the lounge!" All Might decided, seeing Vlad and Aizawa glaring at each other. He didn't want to get in the middle of a fight between co-workers.

Cementoss gulped. "I'll second that." He rushed out.

Present Mic just looked confused and sat down to eat. He wasn't about to let some drama and tension ruin his lunch.

"It's not on my students to know who's dangerous and who's not! It's UA's responsibility to protect the students, and that means us teachers!" Aizawa's voice was rising louder.

"I agree!" Vlad shouted back, "But there's nothing dangerous about my list that I compiled! I got them all approved with the Principal and His Purple Highness, I'm sure it's perfectly safe and I think you're just angry because he's not good enough for Class A's high standards!"

Present Mic spat out his drink. "Wait, wait His Purple Highness? Is he THAT guy? You know the pro you interned under in your second year?" He started hurriedly wiping up the mess he had made with his spit.

Vlad stopped shouting. "You interned under him?"

Aizawa sighed. "Yeah. Yeah I did." He glared at Mic. He didn't particularly want people to know too much about him.

"Did….Did one of your students choose him as their agency?" Present Mic asked. He gnashed his teeth worriedly.

"Yep." Aizawa said worriedly.

"Can you ask them to change their choice?" Present Mic asked.

"Whoa, hold up. Listen, I don't think it's a good idea to force a student out of their choice just because you have personal beef with a hero." Vlad argued.

Aizawa sighed, but he couldn't respond and say that wasn't the reason why.

"Personal beef?" Now Mic's voice was rising. "My main man doesn't just have personal beef with him! Oboro died interning with him so don't you dare call it personal beef—" Mic was yelling.

Vlad instinctually covered his ears to protect himself if Mic started activating his quirk. Aizawa, knowing Mic tended to have a bit of a temper started looking at him to cancel his quirk before Mic destroyed the entire room in his anger.

"I didn't know someone died there! I AM SORRY!" Vlad shouted back trying to make them hear him over Mic's loud yelling. "If I had known I wouldn't have put him on the list!"

The door opened and the principal walked in. Mic calmed down.

"I heard there was quite a lot of yelling happening in here!" Principal Nezu greeted. "Snipe and Cementoss are hiding in the hallway practically terrified." He laughed, "What has happened? Might I remind you that you are all professionals."

Vlad was looking apologetic, and Mic was looking like he was ready to fight. Aizawa tried to be the responsible one and look professional.

"We were….having an argument about the first-year internship agencies. One of my students applied for His Purple Highness's and with the history behind it-"

Nezu just stared blankly. "I don't see the problem."

"If someone died interning in an agency, shouldn't we try to prevent students from going to that agency in the future?" Vlad piped up trying to get back on Aizawa's good graces. "When I turned in the agencies to you for approval, I didn't hear anything about this Oboro guy—"

Aizawa shot a glance at Vlad but looked a little thankful that Vlad was trying to make amends.

Nezu looked thoughtful. He bounced his way over to his chair. "It is true that a UA student died interning under His Purple Highness 14 years ago."

Vlad looked horrified.

"But UA students are always getting into dangerous situations. We are training heroes, and heroes sometimes die. Coddling our children won't make a strong force of heroes in the future. And that incident was 14 years ago. Don't you think heroes can grow and change and redeem themselves over time?" Nezu asked.

"Well yes...But!" Aizawa frowned.

"He is still a hero. And Oboro's untimely death wasn't his fault, just like it wasn't your fault, Aizawa." Nezu reminded.

Aizawa's hand shook but he gave a small nod.

"It was a villain's fault." Nezu reminded. "But I took the incident into account when looking at the paperwork. This time should be different from your experience, Aizawa. First years, for one thing, don't have the licensing to battle, so they won't be in a dangerous situation."

That calmed Aizawa down a little.

"Not only that, but did you know His Purple Highness hasn't applied with UA for interns in the past 13 years? If he sent a request after all this time, he might be trying to confront the past and grow from what happened. You and him both should try to break free of the past instead of letting it shackle you." Nezu tried to advise.

Aizawa seemed to be holding onto his words. "I…I didn't know that…And you're right, as usual."

"But he's dangerous! He's proven himself unable to protect his interns!" Mic insisted, holding onto his anger longer.

Nezu shook his head. "As teachers of UA, it's our job to give our students plenty of opportunities and choices. If a student has a bad experience with a hero, it will help them learn from their mistakes in the future. That's why I approved him, to help our students learn. And he's probably learned too! There should be nothing to worry about." Nezu kicked his feet playfully. "It would be cruel of us to take our student's choices away and ask them to change their pick."

Aizawa tightened his hands into a fist and nodded.

"Out of curiosity which of your students picked him?" Nezu asked.

"Toru Hagakure." Aizawa replied.

"I'm sure she'll be fine." Vlad tried to reassure. "Class A is a strong bunch of students! Have faith in your students…"

Aizawa shook his head. "She's my weakest student." He admitted.

Nezu looked like he was thinking about something. "Well! We can just hope she gets what she wants out of this internship! And that nothing bad happens!" He got up out of his chair and walked up to Aizawa and pat his leg as if to sooth him. "Don't worry! And no more yelling please!"

Aizawa nodded, but even though Nezu had tried to dispel his worries he still felt all over his body. The fear and grief he had experienced had never left him and it was being repeatedly slapped in his face thanks to Toru's choice. He felt himself nodding despite how cold his entire face felt.

"Yeah. We won't." He agreed.

Nezu smiled and left. "It's safe to come in now!"

And with that there was no chance of changing Toru Hagakure's paper.

Monday came, the day the students would be off to do their internships. They all gathered at the train station holding their hero costumes in a metal suitcase, along with a second suitcase of their personal items.

Do I really need a whole metal suitcase for what's just gloves and boots? It seemed a little silly that each student had a suitcase of the same weight and size. Some of them had bigger pieces to their hero costumes and yet they had to fit it into the suitcase, and some of them had less pieces.

"I'll miss you, Toru, Tsuyu!" Mina cried giving her friends a hug. She was fake crying. "I hope we all get a lot of experience and have a great time!"

"I'm really excited for my internship, personally! It makes all my sadness about losing at the sports festival seem meaningless because I found a really good place!" Tsuyu sounded proud.

"I'm so excited too! It's been my dream to visit Kamino for a while!" Toru said singsongly. "And Aoyama told me the hero I chose was sure to help me learn how to be flashy and the center of attention. It's something I really need to work on since I got no offers at the sports festival!"

Tsuyu nodded. "I'm sure you made a big enough splash at the sports festival…" She tried to reassure.

"Bring me back a souvenir. I've heard the shops there are fun!" Mina requested.

Aizawa glared at them, trying to get them back to listening to his safety lecture with the rest of the group. "I know it's your first big trip, but please say your good-byes after I've finished talking."

"Yes, sir!" They all agreed. Other people were talking amongst themselves too, and they quieted down as soon as Aizawa gave that warning.

Toru noticed Aizawa's gaze lingered on her just a little longer than normal. He must be looking at Iida. She decided. Iida was standing behind her as he sort of swayed back and forth with the group. He was clearly not all there, and she could understand Aizawa being worried.

His brother just announced his retirement and there's been a sort of darkness to Iida the last few days. He hasn't been his usual class rep self, so Aizawa's probably keeping an eye out for him. Toru observed. He wasn't filled with his usual energy.

Aizawa's hand was in his pocket all casual like, but Toru could notice a small tremble on his arm. His shoulders didn't look as relaxed as normal, and he was clearly quite tense.

Aizawa finished up talking about safety protocols. "You all have your costumes, right? Remember, you aren't allowed to wear them in public. Don't drop them or anything."

Not that I'd want to. Toru thought to herself.

"Yes!" Mina bounced eagerly and agreed, holding her suitcase above her head.

"Speak clearly! It's Yes sir, Ashido." Aizawa reminded.

"Yes sir…." Mina was less excited after being scolded.

Aizawa seemed to be finding his groove and his arm was shaking much less. "Make sure to mind your manners with the heroes at your internships! Off with you now!"

Everyone started dispersing.

"I can't wait!" Toru said pretend excitedly.

Kirishima also looked excited. He nudged Tokoyami's shoulder. "Tokoyami, you're going to Kyushu, right?" He must have taken an interest because Kyushu was far.

Toru inserted herself into the conversation. Mostly to get information on who people were interning with.

"Kyushu, huh? How fun! Who did you get?" Toru asked trying to be the bubbly excitable girl she was supposed to be.

"Hawks." Tokoyami said briefly. Hawks was pretty high on the hero scale! He was the third ranking pro hero.

So, a pro with a higher ranking took note of Tokoyami and not Bakugo? I'll have to keep my eye out on Tokoyami. "Sounds fun!" Toru said. "I went with His Purple Highness."

"Haven't heard of him." Kirishima shrugged. "Like the name though. Sounds manly!"

Tokoyami ignored him and frowned. "That's far away from where I'm going. Do you really have time to be chatting with me?"

Toru fake gasped. "I guess not! I lost track of time. I was just so curious what had you going so far! Gotta run!" She waved. "Have lots of fun, Tokoyami!"

Tokoyami smiled at someone wishing him fun. "You too."

She ran to her station to be on the train for Kamino. She noticed Aizawa watching her run.

That's strange…I'm nowhere near Iida. Why's he looking at me? Was he suspicious of her? No, nobody should have any idea the league was based in Kamino.

Toru acted casual and went through the ticket gate, pretending she hadn't seen Aizawa staring at her.

Let's see how long it takes for His Purple Highness to just set me loose so I can hurry up and go to the league. Toru reminded herself.

Aizawa was inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. He wouldn't be in Kamino and he wouldn't get in the way of her plans.

All Toru needed to do was ensure the pro hero she had signed up with was as disinterested in her as possible and hope that nobody from Class B had applied to the same agency.

I split this chapter up into many pieces too. My youngest sister wanted to edit this because she was mad at my use of commas. Her additions to the story itself included Vlad King's lunchbox and Kirishima's existence. Kirishima is her favorite character and she gets personally offended when he is not in a chapter. She's like "Where is Kirishima?"
