(A/N) We'll see what's going on with Hitoshi next chapter. For now, the almost fulfilling of a tag I've had up there for ages.

They didn't end up actually sending Hitoshi back to the foster parents, especially not with the fever he developed over the few days they'd been at Toru's house. Toru's mom kept him home from school, despite his protests. Momo suspected there was another reason she was keeping him home besides the fever, although that was a bit part, but she couldn't know until tomorrow, in all likelihood.

She made it through most of the day, then she was called to Nezu's office.

While Momo wouldn't say she was anxious to be called to the principal's office, and in the middle of the day too, she was certainly on edge. She didn't know what it could be about, they were still a week away from the Sports Festival.

When she knocked, then entered, she found All Might and Nezu inside. She blinked, entering, then closing the door behind her, "Is there something wrong?"

"No," Nezu replied evenly, pushing a teacup towards her as she settled into the open chair across from Nezu, although tilted to face All Might. It had to be something involving All Might or he wouldn't be in here, maybe it was her request for a costume change? She was pretty sure anything would be better then her current costume one.

"If you wouldn't mind," Nezu said, looking at All Might.

Momo watched rather awkwardly, sipping at her tea, as All Might spewed steam everywhere, and abruptly shrunk in on himself, shrinking down into a skeleton of a man that Momo was almost 85% sure she'd seen around campus a few times.

"This is my...true form, if you will," All Might said, coughing a few times. Momo offered him a tissue. He took it gratefully. "Ever since my fight with a particular bad guy, my health has been declining."

That must be why he stopped appearing in public quite as much. Made sense. Why he wasn't retired yet didn't quite make sense, especially when he awkwardly pulled up his shirt to show off a horrific scar.

"I'm missing a lung and my stomach," All Might said somewhat sheepishly. "But that's not what we're here to talk about."

Momo inclined her head. "If you don't mind me asking, what are we here for?"

"My quirk, One for All, has a very specific ability," All Might began. Momo's mind raced, putting any and all pieces together she could. She was here, they were telling her this, either there was something specific about the quirk that required another person, or they needed someone to either carry on the legacy, or possibly the quirk itself… Momo's train of thought derailed instantly.

"It can be passed on," All Might finished a moment later.

Momo blinked. She'd been right. They intended to ask her to take on All Might's quirk. She...wasn't quite sure what she thought of that in all honesty, on one hand she was well aware that she had a versatile quirk already and could likely keep One for All safe in the case someone figured out she had it, on the other, was she willing to take that mantle on herself. Was she strong enough to bear that heavy title, to carry on the mantle All Might had taken upon himself from his mentor.

"Were you prepared to take that mantle?" She asked before she could stop herself. "Did you ever regret it?"

All Might looked indescribably tired. "I will admit that I have regretted it. I still regret it sometimes. But I look at all I've managed to accomplish, and I think it was for the best. The world would have been a worse place had I not."

Momo had to agree, had to admit that all All Might had done, was definitely for the better. He'd saved so many people, done so much to give hope to so many people. "Was it worth it?"

All Might looked confused. "Did I not just answer that?"

Nezu made a slight noise, and All Might and Momo glanced at him. "I believe she is asking whether the injuries you sustained were worth it. Whether the emotional and mental toll was worth taking the quirk."

All Might took a moment to consider it. "I believe it is worth it. While the injuries are terrible and hurt to this day, I'm making the world a better place. I'll leave a legacy behind, and that I think is well worth it. As for the toll, I suppose it is. My mentor, Nana, was the seventh holder, and while holding this burden took her from me far too early, has taken more people then I like to think about, it allows me to hold a little bit of her with me all the time."

Momo considered it. Clearly All Might thought it had been worth it for him, but was she willing to take that risk? Was she willing to put Hitoshi, just barely in a stable home with Toru and her family, Toru, one of her first actual female friends, and Mash, one of the only male friends she'd had that didn't judge her for any clothing choices.

Was she willing to risk them for the chance at saving thousands of people?

Momo needed more time to think, she had to consider all the alternatives. "Why did you pick me? It can't just be because of my quirk."

Nezu steepled his fingers? Toes? Whatever. "I suggested you to Yagi because I believe your intelligence and common sense would be a great asset to the hero community. You're a good strategist, and with any luck you'd understand that punching isn't always the way out of every situation."

Momo swallowed a grin when she realized Nezu was calling out All Might.

"In addition," All Might added, clearing his throat, "I believe your heroic spirit would be a great asset to the hero community as the symbol of peace!"

As the symbol of peace? Could she really do that though? She'd grown up with all attention on her, grown up surrounded by cameras and people who wanted to know what it was like to be the child of the Yaoyorozu's.

Previously she had sort of only wanted to reach maybe the top twenty, enough to provide a good living, obscure enough she wouldn't have eyes on her every move. She'd thought that was her only option. Then she entered UA, and their teacher was an underground hero, someone out of the spotlight completely. Sure she'd have to work a lot harder to make a living, but it wasn't like she didn't have savings just from being given an allowance regularly enough she didn't know what to do with it.

Now she was being told that should she accept this, she pretty much had to be a spotlight hero. And the number one too. In the end she probably didn't really have a choice. She was being offered this power, and the more people that knew about it, the higher the risk was. If she turned it down, someone else had to be told about it, with the same risk that they would also refuse.

Well, she supposed that made her choice. "I accept." She said quietly.

"Go ask the support department if you would like a costume change," Nezu said, a glint in his eyes. "They'd be delighted."

Momo blinked. "Ah, alright. Thank you."

"Of course," Nezu replied. "I'd get going."

Momo inclined her head and quickly left.

While she had intended to change her costume at some point, Momo had to admit that she hadn't thought it would involve facing down the massive door to the support labs. Nezu had apparently known she was thinking about changing her costume, and had suggested asking the support department. They'd get it done faster then just putting in a request, which might not even get her what she wants. So here she was, not even half an hour after school had ended.

She knocked on the big door, then carefully swung it open, poking her head in before entering fully.

A pink haired girl was bent over the leg of a red haired girl who was lounging on a sofa and looking at her phone. The red-head glanced up and waved. "Hello."

"Ah, hello, are you a support student?" Momo asked, shifting slightly.

"Nope, just here for some tests. Mei's the support student in here right now. The other's won't be back until school tomorrow."

Momo walked over hesitantly, trying to see what Mei was doing. "What tests?"

"Eh, mostly just how much electricity my leg puts out," she shrugged. "Tamako Hogo Uzu, nice to meet you. Tamako is fine."

"Momo Yaoyorozu," Momo replied, bowing politely. "I don't believe I've seen you around?"

"Yeah, I'm a second year. Based on your hesitance in here you're a first-year?"

Momo nodded sheepishly.

"Thought so. First years are the most likely to not just kick the door open and walk in here."

Behind them, the door was kicked open, and Momo jumped. She moved aside, glancing back towards the door and finding a dark berry red-haired teen striding in.

"Tamako, you're late," he said, sitting, or rather almost flopping down on the arm of the sofa.

"Well excuse me for not really being able to disturb Mei," Tamako replied easily, waving an arm at her leg. "Give her a moment she should be almost done. Yaoyorozu, this is Kamisori. He's got a music-based quirk."

Kamisori waved, then patted a large black box strapped to his back. "I play the trumpet!"

Momo glanced at the pink-haired girl, who she was assuming was Mei, based on the lack of anyone else in the room, and figured she was probably close to finished. "Why are you measuring how much electricity your leg puts out? Do you have an electricity quirk?"

Tamako shook her head. "Nope, my quirk is called Glitch actually, and it doesn't have to do with electricity."

"She's got a prosthetic," Kamisori said, grinning. "A wind/lightning one."

Momo blinked. What? Weren't prosthetics usually made of metal and plastic? She voiced that thought.

"It's from a specialized prosthetic clinic in our city," Tamako explained. "One person can bend elements into shapes, and the other can 'seal' things into their shapes. Together they make functional prosthetics that last basically forever. Unfortunately, unless you're done growing you have to go in and get it renewed each month." She shrugged. "It's a good prosthetic though. I'd say well worth the trouble."

Momo still hadn't seen the prosthetic, so she took Tamako's word for it. "Okay."

"So what're you in here for?" Kamisori asked. "If you don't mind me asking."

"You're good," Momo replied easily. "I came to ask about redesigning my costume. I've been meaning to for a while."

The pink one, who Momo'd almost forgotten about, looked up immediately. "Oooh? New hero costume?"

Tamako somewhat gently pushed Momo to the side, then almost appeared to 'glitch' out of reality, then 'glitch' back in next to the door. "And that's my cue to leave! Bye!"

Kamisori ran out after her, yelling something about not using her quirk to do that. That explained why her quirk was called Glitch though.

Momo didn't have time to go on a long mental rant however as she was almost immediately accosted by the pink one. "Mei Hatsume at your service! Just Mei is fine for the pretty lady!"

Momo flushed at the compliment. "I'm Momo Yaoyorozu, I came to request a costume change."

The girl's hands were already moving even as she stared at Momo. "Do you have your original? Or was this a it was destroyed so I need a new one kind of situation."

"I didn't bring it, but I do have it, yes." Momo settled on. "I just need it redesigned. It really needs to be improved."

"I can do that just fine!" Mei said rather loudly. "So, what's your quirk?"

(A/N) We have a Mei. This absolutely didn't have any foreshadowing for Hosu. Nope. Not at all….. *suspicious looking anywhere but at you*.
