(A/N) Sports Festival finally! Took a while to get here huh. I skipped through it a bit cause I really really didn't like doing it, so I just got it done quick as I could. A bit long but I'm sure you don't mind.

The Sports Festival was here and Momo wasn't the only one anxious about it. Midoriya was muttering frantically about something, Kouda looked supremely uncomfortable and was fiddling with his hands, and those were just the big ones. Everyone except Todoroki and Bakugo were doing something that showed they were anxious.

Momo was particularly anxious about it because she still hadn't gotten her quirk under control, and based on the best guess from extensive testing by both Power Loader and Recovery Girl, there were probably bits of her quirk she still had to discover.

She'd found a notebook then attached a lock to it with some of Mei's help. So now she had a locked notebook only she had the key to. She didn't write anything specific in it, but she did keep notes about the new effects on her quirk.

So far she had the three crystals they'd discovered written down along with the effects, followed by something Recovery Girl had checked for that apparently was just something that happened because of a previous user with a mutant type hidden quirk.

Turned out that yes, Momo did have it, so now her system for using up energy resembled a sled dog more than anything else. The basic result was that Momo needed to eat more meat and protein to fuel her quirk. And the rest of her body.

It was a serious boost to her stamina, which was helpful, although her mother was disappointed to receive an email noting that Momo would require even more calories in primarily protein.

But here they were, the Sports Festival. What they'd been waiting on for two weeks, ever since Aizawa had announced it.

She'd already made her choice to stick close to Hitoshi, since he wouldn't have too much of a problem with her if she couldn't get her quirk to work with her,

They were herded out onto the big field, and Bakugo was sent up to give a speech. Momo sensed this would go badly.

It did, of course, and Bakugo just straight up announced he intended to win. Momo sort of wanted to beat him now so she could tell him that no, he hadn't won. But she wasn't that mean or petty, and with her quirk acting up unpredictably, she likely wouldn't manage to beat him. A nice dream anyway though. And it couldn't hurt to try. She would try her hardest, and she would at least make Toru's mother proud, even if her own would be annoyed at how unlady-like the fighting was.

The first round seemed to be some sort of obstacle course, probably designed to weed most of the people out. A good idea, of course, they could probably only have so many people in the second and third rounds. It just meant Momo and her friends had to get through this obstacle course. They had to.

They helped each other best they could, clustering around Hitoshi, who was doing his best, and kept looking at them like they were insane, probably since he thought they should leave him behind and go ahead. They weren't going to do that of course, what kind of friends would they be if they did?

The second round was something apparently called a cavalry battle. As Momo knew what a cavalry was, an armed force of horse riders, she was concerned about how this was supposed to go down. They were ordered to choose groups of four, so naturally she, Hitoshi, Toru, and Mashirao immediately gathered together as a group. It was in their best interests anyway. With Mashirao's tail providing defense, he had the back, and Hitoshi was the rider, as he was light enough not to be too much of an issue, and Toru and Momo had higher stamina then he did.

"I'd better be able to refuel after this," Momo groaned, feeling her stomach complain loudly. "I'm starving."

Toru handed her a protein bar, grinning like she was in a secret exchange or something. "Thought you'd run outta fuel and picked this up from Mom!"

Momo smiled at her, relieved, and grabbed the bar, eating it in three bites. Upside to Consume, she could consume meats and fats and immediately turn them into energy and creations. Downside, it happened quickly and she ran out of it pretty quickly if she didn't have enough. "Thanks Toru, I appreciate it."

"No problem!" She chirped. "I hope it can last through this round so we can grab you some food."

"Me too," Momo sighed, nodding. She wasn't sure it would, but she could hope. "So what's our plan?"

"Defend our team, and grab any headbands we can," Toru said, shrugging. "Not sure what else we can do."

They made it. They made it through the battle with just enough points to continue on. They'd all be fighting in the next round. As there was a break to redo the arena, and Momo took that chance to find a good place to consume as much protein she could manage for the battles ahead.

The place was nice enough to let her take extras with her, so she could have extra fuel for when she inevitably ran out later.

So, fully loaded up with hopefully enough extra food to get her through the battles, and happily full from her meal, Momo settled in one of the waiting rooms to, well, wait.

Todoroki came in a moment later, oddly enough, sitting down across from her and steepling his fingers.

Momo paused reviewing her compounds that were most fit for battle to raise an eyebrow at him. "Is there something you wanted?" She asked after a moment of silence.

"I am here to challenge you," Todoroki decided, narrowing his eyes. "I am the son of Endeavor, All Might seems to have taken an interest in you. I will defeat you without using my fire."

"Your loss?" Momo replied, utterly confused. "Is there a particular reason you refuse to use half of your quirk? It's rather like me refusing to make metals or something."

Todoroki stared at her for a moment, then promptly dumped his entire backstory on her. Momo was left reeling with the knowledge that Endeavor was apparently a child abuser. Joy. Why exactly had Todoroki dumped this on her? Was it just because she'd asked? How long had he been waiting to do that, to tell someone what was going on in his house.

"You should tell Aizawa," Momo decided finally. "He got Shinso out and into a better home, he'll make sure you get out too. And the school has Nezu on their side, they wouldn't lose a court case like that. As your class president, I suggest talking to Aizawa."

Todoroki considered it. "Do you trust him?"

Momo made deliberate eye contact with him. "Farther than All Might could throw him. With this anyway."

Todoroki gave a quiet huff at the metaphor. Momo counted that as a win. "I'll consider it," he decided. "Maybe."

"That's all I can ask for," Momo replied. "Good luck. I hope to meet you in battle."

Todoroki looked vaguely constipated. "You as well?"

"Are you asking me or telling me," Momo said, giggling quietly. "I believe you have one of the first fights."

"Of course," Todoroki replied, hurriedly getting up and leaving like he was allergic to good wishes.

Momo giggled and shook her head at his retreating back before going back to going over the compounds she might need.

Shinso had been beaten by Midoriya, although no one was particularly surprised at it, Shinso had put up as much of a fight as he could even when he was entirely outclassed in hand to hand combat.

Todoroki neatly froze poor Sero in a glacier, not giving him a chance to put up any sort of fight. Momo almost felt bad.

Toru was taken out by Kaminari when he shot lightning across the entire arena, electrocuting her and almost Midnight too.

Poor Iida was subject to being Mei's test dummy then won when she stepped out of bounds when she was finished showing off her tech. Typical Mei. Poor Iida though.

Ashido beat Aoyama, her maneuverability and acid too much for the very sparkly teen.

Momo herself was up against Tokoyami. She dodged Dark Shadow, pulling a floodlight out of her stomach and shining it at the quirk, making it wince and retreat. She went after Tokoyami himself next, keeping the floodlight on him so he was blinded and pushing him out of the arena.

Quick, strategic, and she only had to make one thing, albeit a large and complex thing. She was still blinking some blind spots out of her vision from the bright light though, so perhaps she should've made some sunglasses to keep the light from affecting her. Either way she had a bit until she fought again, so she'd be fine. She'd just rest, eat a bit, and wait.

Mashirao came into the room a bit later, flopping down in the seat across from her.

"Hard fight?" Momo asked, amused, pushing one of the boxes towards him. She could spare it fine. She could always grab more after the fights.

"I'm going to have so many bruises," Mashirao groaned, picking his head up and opening the offered box. "Oh nice, where'd you get this?"

"I'll show you after the fights are done," Momo said, smiling as he started devouring it. "Did Recovery Girl get to you?"

"I didn't break any bones and while I'm sore I'm not going to die anytime soon, so I decided not to check in with her so I'm not overly tired." Mashirao shrugged, and Momo had to admit it was wise. "Uraraka, the gravity girl, she's fighting Bakugo right now."

"I bet that's quite the fight," Momo replied, humming. "Bakugo doesn't strike me as the type to wait and hesitate because he's fighting a girl."

"Is that good or bad," Mashirao asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Depends on if Uraraka is looking for a good fight or if she just really wants to win," Momo said, smiling wryly. "Not that I doubt her abilities, but should she really wish to win, having Bakugo underestimate her and hesitate and hold back is best for her and the fastest path to winning. If she wants a fight and Bakugo's the only one who won't hold back from hitting a girl, then it's good."

"Fair," Mashirao agreed. "Can't decide whether to bother being concerned about Uraraka or not."

"Don't bother," Momo decided. She'd seen the girl practicing fiercely. "She wouldn't want it."

(A/N) I'm just done with this, end my suffering. The second round is Midoriya versus Todoroki, Kaminari versus Iida, Mina versus Momo, and Ojiro versus Bakugo. Third round is Todoroki versus Iida, and Momo versus Bakugo. In my opinion, if I didn't need Bakugo in first place on that pedestal Momo would be in first place. She can have first place next year. Anyway, the Fourth round is Todoroki versus Bakugo with Bakugo winning. See you next time!
