Ch 3 "The Reunion"

A flood activity enveloped the GSA Spaceport. Squads of GSA soldiers guarded the perimeter.

Rose pulled her Overdrive Jeep into the docking bay of Hangar 541. Amelia's face lit up in the passenger side.

Before her eyes, a mixed group of Pink Rangers stood gathered around the hangar, conversing intensely.

Rose and Amelia exited the Jeep to enthusiastic greetings from the other Rangers.

Rose recognized every face from the Overdrive databanks. And within moments, she introduced Amelia around to everyone:

There was Jem Stone, the Pink Turbo Ranger. Next up, Cassie Chan, the Pink Space Ranger. Alongside her, was Dana Mitchell from Lightspeed Rescue. Behind her, stood Karone, Pink Galaxy Ranger. After her, was Jen Scotts of Time Force. Sydney Drew from SPD was there too. Vida Roca was representing Mystic Force. Mia Watanabe was still the Pink Samurai Ranger. Let's not forget, Emma Goodall from Megaforce. With Shelby Watkins from Dino Charge. And last but not least, Sarah Thompson was representing Ninja Steel.

"You guys are all Pink Rangers too?" Amelia gestured around. "What's going on here?"

Karone leaned in closer. "We were all assembled by a veteran ranger," she added helpfully. "Our leader for this mission."

"Leader?" Amelia asked, partly to herself.

As if an answer to her inquiry, a tall blonde-haired woman appeared into view. She wore a motorcycle-style jacket and dark denim jeans.

Amelia nudged Rose. "Who's that?"

Cassie came up behind her. "That's Katherine, the Pink Zeo Power Ranger," she added a smirk. "She's a legend."

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," Kat began warmly, to the assembled group of Pink Rangers who were huddled around her.

"The call sounded urgent," Jen responded.

A few heads nodded in agreement.

"I was hoping this day would never come," Kat announced to the group. "Karone has recently tracked down the whereabouts of Xadeena, Lord Zedd's younger sister."

"Are you kidding?" Vida said, disbelieving. "Lord Zedd has a sister?"

Kat managed a small nod of her head. "And like Zedd, she can be a very dangerous individual," she went on, "for years, she has been hiding out on Zedd's Otherworld, amassing his power. She has finally regrouped her forces on Jupiter's moon," she paused for emphasis. "preparing to invade Earth."

Fresh murmurs of disbelief greeted Kat's latest assertion.

"Jupiter's moon?" Amelia stepped in. "So how are we supposed to get up there to stop her?"

"In this," spoke Karone. She fished a remote out of her back pocket, pointed it at a wall, and pushed a button. Behind them, a pair of gleaming metal doors slid apart, revealing a giant, circular spacecraft. All eyes turned up to see it looming before them. It was unlike anything they had ever seen before.

Karone stood in front of it, facing the group. "I present to you Astronema's Dark Fortress," she announced to all assembled. "Fresh out of the Mirinoi Museum, it is one of the most formidable ships in the galaxy."

Amelia could not keep the wonder out of her voice. "Morphenominal."

Jem stepped forward and rubbed her hands together hungrily. "Aaaaaaall right!" she said.

"You guys," Kat called out to all assembled. "This is a very dangerous mission," her voice became serious. "But I can't force you to go. This is a decision you will have to make on your own."

Amelia stepped bravely forward. "I don't know much about Jupiter or this Dark Fortress," she responded with certainty. "But I will go where I must to protect the earth."

Rose nodded agreement. "Count me in."

Sydney Drew straightened up. "Me too."

Dana Mitchell drew herself up too. "Rangers together," she said, rounding out the team.

Other heads nodded enthusiastically.

Karone was most pleased. "Then it's settled,"

Katherine almost smiled too. "Let's do it guys." With those words, the fourteen women started for the loading ramp.

But Mia felt something gnawing at the edge of her mind, something that had been there for hours. "Why only Pink Rangers?" She asked.

Before Katherine could answer, a voice sounded from behind: "Because... too much pink energy is dangerous."

With a whirl, everyone turned to the sound of the female voice. Standing before them was the Original Pink Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.

Kat tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear as memories of her younger days flowed through her like water through a stream. A tidal wave of emotion hit her once she realized how much she'd missed her old friend.

Kat's lips curled into a soft smile. "Kimberly..."

Kim shrugged, grinning. "What can I say? It's great to be back."

Kimberly and Katherine clasped hands.

"Alright," Karone said. "Let's do it."

Then, together, fourteen Pink Rangers made their way towards the Dark Fortress.

Inside the main control room for Hangar 541, a tech turned from his console to the blonde-haired officer passing close behind him.

"Ma'am, we have a sanctioned departure from Bay 2."

Colonel Kendrix Morgan halted, turned, and stared out of the sweeping port overlooking the hangar. At the far end, a group of Power Rangers could be seen boarding an entrance ramp of a spacecraft.

Kendrix nodded approvingly. "Retract the skylight doors immediately," she said.

"Right away, Ma'am." replied the tech.

Overhead, enormous skylight doors slid apart.

Through the sweeping port, Kendrix tossed Karone a farewell salute. Karone tosses one back.

Karone hit a wall panel after her companions have boarded her vessel. The loading ramp behind them rose and the lock sealed up. A low whine rose from the rear of the craft. Seconds later, at the stern of the spacecraft, long quiescent engines flared to brilliant life. Fully powered up now, it slowly rose through the skylight and soared into the bright blue skies of Earth.

Seated at the controls, Karone spun it around and accelerated, blasting away from Earth at full power.
