Chapter 1: The End of a Long Trip.

Karkat sat in the meteor with his associates, sitting next to Dave, while the others were standing by, talking to one another. "So, Karkat. Are you sure we are goin' the right way?" Dave asked him. Karkat nodded his head. "I'm certain, Strider. Sollux and I had made sure everything was correct, from distance to speed. We should be fucking fine." Karkat answered, while crossing his arms.

Dave nodded his head, before diving his head back into his phone. Karkat looked over at Feferi and Eridan, who were talking to one another about something that he could care less about. His eyes then glanced over at the fridge that was stuffed with his ex-moirail, Gamzee, and then looked over at the others who were just gabbing around about nothing in particular.

The meteor was just buzzing with chatter about random topics, some about the new place they'd land on, some about… Quadrants as uncomfortable as that made some people. Karkat sat there, thinking about how different things could be in the new place. He was hoping that it would go with little to no bumps. He was soon tapped on the head by Terezi, with her cane.

He looked up at her. "What is it, Terezi?" He asked grumpily. "Karkat, how much longer will we be in this… Thing? Some of us are getting antsy." She asked, while crossing her arms. Karkat looked at Dave who just shrugged at him. "I'm not exactly sure Terezi. I mean, its going to take a fucking while you know." He gruffed. Terezi turned her lips into a small pout, but shook her head.

Karkat could care less if some of the people were getting antsy, it could've been worse; they could've all been slain in the accident that would've been known in their old home world. Before Karkat could dive back into his thoughts, Terezi spoke up some more. "...Karkat, do you think that box there will contain Gamzee long enough? And how long do you think his pies will last him?" She asked, while looking behind at the chained up fridge.

Karkat wasn't sure how to answer that question. He may be a leader, but even leaders don't know everything. "Uh… I think it'll hold up. And if he's smart enough, which I HIGHLY DOUBT, he will eat as needed." He answered, while looking at the fridge as well. While the two of them spoke, Equius was over by Tavros, helping him with his legs. "Low blood, I order you to stop fidgeting around so much." He ordered, while looking miffed.

Tavros couldn't help that he was jumpy, Equius freaked him out, and he was quite strong. He didn't want his new legs to get broken by Equius' strength, but he also didn't want him to mess up his legs either; so he did his best to keep still. "Don't expect ToreadorDumbass here to keep still. He's such a wriggler." Vriska said cruelly, while glaring at him with an evil smile.

Tavros frowned at Vriska's words, feeling hurt by them, but unfazed. He was used to her tauntings, but that doesn't mean they don't hurt each time she says them. Equius could see the sadness in Tavros' face, and he decided to help him in his own special way. "Vriska, I must kindly ask you to leave." He said, while staring up at the standing woman. She looked down at him, sticking her tongue out at him.

"Why Eq? You stickin' up for this loser?" She asked, while gently giving Tavros a kick at his tailbone region; causing him to squeak painfully. "I am NOT sticking up for a mudblood like him, I only ask because you will make me mess up my work. And simply, I just do not like you." He said sternly. She pouted, and walked away from the both of them. Tavros looked at Equius, wondering if what he said was true.

"Lowblood, staring is considered rude, you know." Equius said, while continuing his work. Tavros looked away, but then mouthed the words 'thank you' to him. Equius caught it, and gave him a nod. Bolt after bolt, nut after nut, Equius was almost done with his legs. Tavros was very excited to finally have his legs fixed after Vriska's LAST 'prank'. Once Equius was done, he assisted Tavros up so that he could try out his legs.

Meanwhile, Aradia was sitting and talking with Rose and Kanaya. "My goodness Aradia dear, were you alright after that?" Kanaya asked, looking worried. Aradia just chuckled. "Hehe, yeah! I mean I won't lie it HURT, but I am a-okay!" Aradia answered, while giving a thumbs up. Kanaya looked relieved, with a smile. "Oh that's good to hear! I'm glad you made out alright." She said warmly.

Rose smiled softly herself. "Yeah Aradia, we don't wanna lose ya! I mean, you're good with cards, surprisingly." She said while giving a small chuckle. "Oh you're still going on about that? Don't let 'Pora over there hear that. He'd have my head for sure!" She cackled heartily. The ladies all giggled at her boldness, and the fact she won against Eridan in a card game three times.

Eridan could hear the laughter, and he immediately scowled at the group across the room. "Oh Erifin, what's the matter?" Feferi asked, while looking at her grumpy Moirail. He looked at her, and tried to play it off as just… 'Nervousness'; but Feferi was no fool. She could tell something was up with Eridan. "Oh come on Erifin. Somefins wrong." She said, while pouting.

Eridan gave a small sigh before answering her. "Wwell Fef… It's just that I can hear her laughin' at me. I knoww she is." Eridan answered, while crossing his arms. Feferi rolled her eyes, realizing what he was talking about. "Oh Erifin, are you ever going to stop glubbing about her? She only won three times." She said, while crossing her legs. Eridan scowled, but gave another sigh.

He knew that she was right, so he tried his best to forget, and relax. He might as well, can't fight on this asteroid that's on its way to a new destination, what would be the point? Eridan decided to focus on something more important; his flush crush Feferi, and how he could make her his matesprit. He felt his Lusus' breath near his neck, and he gave Skyhorse a small pat on the nose to comfort him.

Back with Dave and Karkat, Dave was trying to spit hot fire for Karkat, until a small shake had disturbed everyone on the asteroid. Everyone was of course concerned about what that shake was, as was Karkat. He stood up, and looked at Sollux, who had dropped to his knees in utter exhaustion. Soon, the asteroid started to hurl towards whatever sorry planet that was in its path.

Meanwhile on Earth… An adult ginger colored squirrel woman was sitting in her home, monitoring her charts, and astral scans. "Mmm… Nothing wrong here… Everything's good in New Guineasburg, Hm! Seems like everything's all good aroun-'' She started, before getting interrupted by a loud siren. "WARNING WARING, CLASS A ASTEROID IS HEADING TOWARDS THE EARTH!" The alarm rang out.

The ginger woman spat out her coffee, and immediately called the mayor's office. "Pick up pick up!" She chattered nervously. The mayor picked up the phone, answering it swiftly. "Yes Ari what can i-" He started out, before Ari interrupted with utter urgency in her voice. "Mr. Hellworthy we have a SERIOUS EMERGENCY! A Class A asteroid is heading towards earth!" Ari spoke swiftly, while keeping her eyes on the approaching mass.

Mr. Hellworthy's eyes widened, and he immediately pushed the statewide panic button. Once pushed, alarms and sirens began to go off all over town, alerting citizens of Ashton of an impending danger. Everyone started to rush and hurry about crying and screaming for their lives. Ari quickly hung up, and she had seen that the asteroid would be crashing into the town within 45 minutes.

Everyone gathered around at Town Hall, scared, panicked, and in fear of their lives. Ari was there with a screen. There were frantic voices everywhere, demanding answers, and asking every question in the book. Soon three women stepped up to the stand with Ari, a purple jerboa, a demonic looking version of lady one, and a maned black leopard. "E-everyone, e-everyone! H-hello?" Ari choked out, trying to gather the townsfolk' attention.

Nobody was listening to her, they kept screaming questions, and demanding answers. Soon, a loud roar came from the leopards' throat, commanding their silence. A hush grew over the crowd, suspense thick in the air. Ari stood close to the mic, and cleared her throat before speaking up. "E-everyone, I have very unfortunate news. There is a Class A asteroid heading towards us, and… We only have… 39 minutes till… Major destru-ction.." She choked out.

Everyone got even more worried. "What will we do?!" A person asks. "How can we keep ourselves safe?!" A possum woman asks. "Can't we use the bomb shelters?!" An elf man yelled out. Ari's face just welled up with tears, as she hid her face into Samantha's chest. "N-now listen, I'm sure there is a way we can get through this without getting hurt… I'm just not sure what it is yet." The jerboa woman said.

Everyone was still freaking out and crying; fearing for the end of Ashton. "Can't we just hide in Hellfene? Won't that be enough?" Someone asked. The demonic jerboa shook her head no. "No, that won't be enough, and there isn't even enough room for ALL of Ashton to run into there." She answered. "But its HELLFENE! How can there NOT be enough space?" He asked.

She stepped closer to the mic, growling. "Because we are asking at LEAST 1.4 million people to step in there to hide. Thats TOO many people at once you peabrained fucker!" She hissed at him. The guy must've got upset, cause he got up there and tried to hit her, but the woman sucker punched him clear across the stage. The leopard calmed down the demon, before turning her attention towards the frantic crowd.

Women and children stood there crying, and panicking, while the men were yelling in anger and fear for their lives. She covered her face with her palm, letting out a small sniffle. "W-we're gonna be alright, aren't we Sammy?" The purple woman asked her. She didn't respond, she only shook her head 'no' in response. The demon looked at her sibling, before dropping her head low.

Meanwhile, back on the hurdling asteroid, everyone was panicking, and crying. Feferi was trying to keep her lusus calm enough, so that it wouldn't make ANY noise. Karkat grabbed hold of the exhausted Captor, and shook him. "SOLLUX, WAKE THE FUCK UP YOU DUMBASS! WE NEED YOUR FUCKING HELP!" He yelled. Sollux didn't respond, he just slumped limply in Karkats' hands.

He dropped him to the ground, hyperventilating, red tears rolling down his cheeks. Dave held onto Karkat, softly sobbing in fear of his life, and everyone else's. The fridge was knocked over, and the chains came off with a loud rattle. Gamzee had rolled out of the fridge, and onto Sollux's unconscious body. Karkat looked at the sprawled out Gamzee on the floor.

Gamzee opened his eyes, sitting upright. "Hey Karbro. What's with the miraculous ride my brother?" He asked confusedly. Gamzee looked around, seeing everyone freaking out. "I know what to motherfuckin' do." Gamzee said, while getting up. He wobbled back and forth, heading to the passed out Sollux on the floor. As he reached him, he whispered something into Sollux's ear.

Back on Earth, everyone was just as frightened as the Asteroids occupants. The giant space rock was moving fast, and would make an impact in only a short time now. The women stood there, crying. "...Ladies I feel like we've finally met our match…" The purple woman said, while sitting down. The rest of the women followed suit, softly sobbing and holding on to one another.

To everyone's shock and utter surprise; before the asteroid could crash… It stopped! In mid air no less! The women looked up, seeing the Asteroid hovering over town eerily. "W-what on Earth?" Samantha mumbled, while standing up. Ari's eyes narrowed at it as she also stood up. "...It wants to land! Someone, or something is controlling it!" Ari said, while shaking Samantha rather hard.

Samantha got back onto the microphone. "Everyone! You need to move from where the asteroid is! An unknown force is controlling it; and wants to land it SAFELY. MOVE NOW!" She hissed. The townsfolk did as they were told; moving off to the side, making sure there was enough room for it to land safely. "You realize we'll have LOTS of repairs to do on those buildings right?" The demon asked, while looking sour.

"Relax sis. We've had to rebuild over years after a few disasters, so this is nothing new. At least there are NO lives being taken." The purple woman said to her apparent sibling. "Yeah I know; but still! You know Suki and I gotta rebuild that shit!" She hissed to her sister. "Hey, act right! We possibly have company if that thing lands well enough." Samantha said, while giving a soft snarl.

The demon just rolled her eyes at Samantha before returning her glance at the possible invaders. The asteroid slowly started to descend down to the Earth's floor, crushing any tall buildings first, then the mediums, until finally; the small ones. It finally made a touchdown with the Earth's soil, now gently resting. Everyone breathed a small gentle sigh of relief, the women nearly fainting from the extreme emotional distress from earlier.

A hush fell over the crowd as the asteroid sat there in utter silence; not even moving. The women stood there, looking at the giant rock in utter fascination. Nobody even dared to move in fear of something going wrong, or a possible explosion. There wasn't any movement at all, not even a sound… Everyone stood there for a moment, wondering what was going to happen, who or WHAT was going to pop out.

For a solid hour the asteroid didn't move. There STILL wasn't any movement to speak of, so the women told everyone to continue on with their lives, or head home; and they would figure out what to do with it. "...I say we blow it the fuck up." The demon says, while glaring down the large mass. "No no no Innot. We will NOT blow it up. Who knows what there is to be discovered!" Ari chattered.

The woman called Innot sneered at Ari's retort. "Ah come on! TJ we can blow it up right? I mean come on!" Innot hisses. "I'm sorry sis, we can't. That asteroid hovered. That means there's someone inside controlling it, and that ALSO means they could be in danger. Or they could also be dangerous. But we won't know until it opens up on its own. For now, we gotta block it off to the residents of Ashton." TJ answers.

Innot calms herself, looking a bit miffed. "...Fine. I'll call up Suki. She'll help with barricades, and shields." Innot says while grabbing her phone. "I'll talk to the mayor about possible new residents if it goes well, and if it goes bad, then new prisoners." Samantha said, while standing up. "Hey hey hey, we need someone here to make sure the thing doesn't break open with nobody around." Innot barked.

Ari raised her hand. "I'll do it. I'm already wired on coffee anyways. I'll keep a good eye on it." She says while standing up. "Great. Glad we have that settled. Ari? Want anything? Snacks? Drinks?" TJ asks her. "No thanks, I already ate." Ari swiftly answers. "You sure? I don't mind grabbing some extra snacks." TJ says. "Yeah, I'm good. Don't worry about me, just worry about everyone else." Ari replies.

With that, everyone split up in different directions. Ari took her phone, and sat herself comfy next to the mass. She scrolled around on her phone out of pure boredom, catching up on some comics she liked to read. After what seemed like an hour, Suki had come over to put up a few structures as TJ instructed. "Hello Ari, Suki is here to be putting up barriers for giant rock." She said, while dropping a few large planks.
Ari made a noise of acknowledgement. "Oh, and Suki brought you food and drink." She adds, while gently handing her a lunch container of food, and a soda. "A-aah… Th-thanks Suki. I appreciate it." Ari says, bewildered. When Ari opened it, it contained a corn dog with chili cheese tots, and a side salad. The drink that was included was an orange ginger soda, which was still cold.

Ari looked up to Suki, who began to start doing some work. She softly smiled, and began to eat. She nibbled there and here; but mostly the salad, and sipped the soda. "This is pretty good Suki, did you make all this by scratch?" Ari asked curiously. "You better be believing it! Suki use only freshest ingrediyenty!" Suki answered. Ari noticed she used the Russian word for 'ingredients' instead of English.

She had almost forgotten that Suki was Russian. With her stress it's kind of hard to remember these sorts of things, but she's sure Suki didn't mind. She didn't pick apart whatever she said, because that'd be rude; and just overall not good manners. Suki couldn't help that Russian was her first language; and was then forced into speaking English. Ari found herself dipping into her thoughts until there was a STRANGE noise.

It was the asteroid! It was making the strange noise of crackling and creaking. It was opening, and opening slowly! "O-oh sheeit!" Suki swore in utter surprise. "O-ooh crap! I gotta call TJ!" Ari said, while standing at attention to grab her phone. As she's dialing the number, it was fully open now. And then… There was a gruff sounding voice that came from the dark. "...U-uh.. Hello? Where the fuck are we?" A male asked.
