A/N: The rumors are true: I am alive and I am back. I still love these two idiots, as it turns out! I still have a lot of fics planned for these two, especially after IF. Which I loved, by the way.

That being said, heads: this chapter has some light sexual content in the beginning. Read at your own risk.

It isn't going to take much longer for Neil to come undone under her touch, of that much she's certain. With the grip on her hips tightening, he leaves fresh and angry bruises on Eva's soft skin, eager for more. Slow and steady, he drags it out as much as possible, teasing her.

And, deciding she's had enough of it, Eva places her hands over his, stopping his movements. It's easy to push and pull him around, and before Neil knows it, she's holding his hands in hers and placing both of them on the bed. Over his head, pinning him there as she picks up on the pace.

"You're no fun," Out of breath, Neil complains, and Eva can't keep herself from laughing, but in the end, she isn't doing much better. Pressing her lips against his, Eva's movements are rougher, faster, and harder, leaving no space for the sort of teasing Neil's so fond of, and, groaning, it doesn't take much longer for him to come.

It isn't until a beat later, until after both of them have managed to catch their breaths that Eva slides off him. With a kiss on his cheek, she makes herself comfortable by Neil's side, eyes closed as she gets off her high, exhaustion creeping into her bones.

The thought of giving in to sleep is tempting, but there's a voice on the back of Eva's mind telling her to at least brush her teeth before doing so, and, in the end, she isn't strong enough to resist it.

Opening her eyes again, it isn't long until the sight of Neil getting rid of the same condom both of them had used moments ago catches her off guard, distracting her. It doesn't bother her enough to say something about it, it isn't like Eva's trying to be discreet about it either, and at that, she can't help but make a face at him.

And it isn't long until Neil's catching onto it. "What did I do?"

"Nothing," She tries, not managing to even as much as convince herself, and it isn't a surprise when Neil doesn't buy any of it. With that thought in mind, Eva finds herself explaining it further. "That one isn't for that. It's for, I don't know, paper."

When Neil doesn't move from his spot, she continues. "The one you're thinking of is in the bathroom."

Deciding to take another look inside it, in the end, Neil concludes there isn't anything special about it. It isn't any different from the other trashcans he had seen before, and, at the thought, he can't help but say. "I hate to break it to you, Eva, but this is just a trashcan."

She doesn't notice at first, but Eva finds herself laughing before she can stop herself. "Shut up."

"You're ridiculous," He scoffs, laughter getting caught in his throat as he does so. Neil reaches out for the blanket he and Eva had kicked off her bed moments ago, right before she climbed on top of him. It isn't until a moment later that he's coming back up, completely pleased with himself, a triumphant smile spreading over his face as he says. "Hah, found it!"

"Y'know," One beat later, Neil starts. "It is your fault."

Confused, Eva tilts her head to the side. She doesn't say anything and waits for him to continue, but in the end, he doesn't. Instead, Neil opts for settling on the bed, making himself comfortable by her side before draping the blanket over both their bodies.

And, once done, Neil leans to her, leaving a brief peck on her lips. There isn't much space for either of them, Eva notices, but it doesn't seem he minds, but then again: neither does she. It's nothing but an excuse for her to hold him closer, even if she can feel her neck and her back complaining in the morning.

Those thoughts on her mind, she curls up around him before resting her head on his chest, and, for a moment, Eva tries to figure out if there's a specific, erratic pattern to his heartbeat, but in the end, she doesn't find anything. Neil's heartbeat doesn't sound any different from the ones she's heard before.

For once, for one night, Eva decides to take it. There isn't much of a point in spending much time thinking about it.

"It shouldn't be so close to the bed," Half asleep, Neil continues. It's clear he's just as exhausted as her, the long day catching up to both of them as they come off their high, and yet, Eva can't resist the laughter that escapes from the back of her throat, and neither does he.

"C'mere," Cupping his cheek, Eva presses her lips against his. It's nothing but one, two gentle pecks at first before she deepens it, Neil kissing her just as much, and, in the end, it's enough to shut him up and for both of them to let it go before he breaks it apart.

Warmer and much more comfortable, his hand finds itself on her lower back, rubbing circles there, and it isn't long until his fingers are brushing against the skin of Eva's hips, and Neil doesn't need to be able to see them to know he's left some bruises there. His touch doesn't do much to soothe them, but Eva certainly doesn't mind having him being so close as the comforting silence envelops them.

It isn't long until her breathing is quietening. When he ceases the movement of his hand, she's almost out, and she can barely hear him when he whispers. "… Eva?"

In the end, it isn't as if Eva's much better than him. "Neil."

"You aren't sleeping."

"And neither are you," She says, and it isn't until a moment later that her mind comes to the natural conclusion. With an apologetic tone, Eva lifts her head, before continuing. "Am I hurting you? This isn't uncomfortable, is it? I can-"

He doesn't let her finish, no. Instead, Neil cuts her off by placing a kiss on her forehead, and it's enough to assure her. "It's fine, dear. Stay."

"Okay."

It isn't long until sleep returns and claims her. Eva doesn't dream much of anything, and it isn't much different from the nights before.

When Neil comes to, it's to Eva's cold and dark room, and it doesn't surprise him to see her hogging the blanket to herself, her back turned to him. He doesn't need to see the hour to know it's later than it should be, and, that thought in mind, Neil doesn't think twice before getting up, and grabbing his glasses on her side table before trying to find his clothes as quietly as possible.

It doesn't take long for Neil to find some of his clothes, the ones he had gotten rid of in her room, and he's about to put his underwear on when Eva opens her eyes, and he can't believe his luck for a moment. Sure, Eva could sleep through the end of the world most of the time, but the moment he's out of the bed, she's opening her eyes and stretching, eyes on him. Confusion written all over her face for a moment.

And it isn't until one moment later that it sinks in. "Are you trying to sneak out on me?"

"Uh, no," There isn't much of a point in lying to her, of that much Neil's certain, but in the end, it's out there before he can stop himself. "You are awake, aren't you?"

"You're an idiot." She scoffs, before continuing. "I thought you had stopped doing that."

"And I thought you were sleeping," He says, even if it isn't the smartest choice. "We're even, right?"

"Shut up," Eva retorts. It isn't the first time she's told him to shut up that night, but this time around, there isn't any humor or fondness in her tone. "And I was. You're loud for someone that's trying to sneak out."

Before, it had been one of the reasons had been the one sneaking into his place more often than not instead of the other way around. Eva was quieter, more discreet, and it wasn't unusual for Neil to wake the whole house up whenever he tried.

A beat later, Eva adds. "And you know that doesn't make it any better."

"I- Eva," Whining, Neil drops his underwear on the floor once again, and Eva doesn't even as much as flinch, let alone react, but then again: whining has never worked on her before, and the outcome isn't any different this time around. "There's work."

When Eva doesn't say anything, he finds himself saying. "I need to be up early tomorrow."

"… So do I," Eva replies, and lifting her head up, she squints, looking at the clock on her side table. "Neil, please. It's three in the morning. Stop being a moron and come back to bed."

"… Are you sure?"

"Wouldn't have offered if I weren't," Turning herself to face him once again, Eva says. She places her head down on the pillow again before closing her eyes one more time, trying to get some more sleep, Neil or no Neil by her side.

And yet, Eva can't help but find herself saying. "I mean it. Stay."

Although the thought of going home and sleeping in his own bed had been tempting moments ago, nothing could be more tempting than being welcomed into her bed once again and Neil decides not to tempt fate once again.

In her bed once again, comfortable, Eva doesn't think twice before wrapping her arms around him, and, at that, he doesn't think twice before kissing the top of her head.

"But to be clear," He says, part of him sure Eva's half asleep once again. "This is your idea."

"I can live with that."
