(A/N) And we attempt a Rescue. Momo is smart. Be like Momo. Don't pull out an IV line the second you wake up, wait for a nurse to come in and do it for you.
Momo awoke in the hospital and the first thought was 'How dare they.' She consciously hushed her thoughts and tamed the immediate anger. That wouldn't help her now. Now, it was time to capitalize on the tracker she'd made Awase weld to the Nomu.
She properly opened her eyes and sat up, noting the IV line in her arm, which was already starting to bruise again from the power of black whip. It bruised her arms when she didn't use it and gave her hairline fractures when she did. She could never win with this quirk could she. Not for the first time she wished she could turn it off.
But she didn't have the time or ability to afford the anger at the moment.
Since she did have a modicum of sense, she pressed the nurse call button to see if they could get the IV out so she could produce the thing that would find the tracker and give it to the heroes.
Nintaimi entered, which Momo realized was slightly odd since this wasn't the Hosu hospital.
"Oh hey again Ma'at," Nintaimi greeted, smiling. "If you're wondering, I transfer around hospitals based on which ones need me at the moment."
Momo assumed she got the question a lot, and accepted that. "I need to see Eraserhead. I have something that can help with the retrieval of Shinso and Bakugo." It stung a bit calling Hitoshi by his last name, but there wasn't a guarantee she'd know him by anything other than his last name.
Nintaimi carefully took out the IV, putting a small bandaid with a smiling All Might on it over where the needle had been. "Your teacher is here, he's briefing some other pro heroes on the situation as well as Detective Tsukauchi. I can take you to them."
"Please do," Momo said, bottling every emotion she could up for now. She could release it later. When she didn't have a friend to rescue.
The teachers were gathered in a small room that looked like it was meant for this sort of thing, with a table and chairs, although no one was using them.
Nintaimi coughed lightly to draw their attention, stepping aside to allow Momo to walk farther forward.
"Why are you out of bed?" Aizawa asked suspiciously.
"She's cleared to leave whenever," Nintaimi added so Momo didn't need to answer. "The real question is why are you standing up and walking around? Sit down."
Aizawa sat down.
Momo was impressed for a few seconds before she recollected her thoughts and spoke. "I had Awase weld a tracker to one of the nomu. I can make the tracer for it so you have a location."
"We think we have a location, but that will help cement it if nothing else," She assumed he was the Detective Tsukauchi Nintaimi had mentioned since he was the only one not in costume. And the only one she didn't recognize.
She did, however, notice All Might, inching away from Nintaimi, which was hilarious. He must know her or something.
She apparently noticed this, and he froze when she turned to look at him. "Ah, Yagi. How nice to see you. Sit down or I will sit you down myself. I know full well you're going to participate in this and I will not have you dying after the effort I and the other doctors that worked on your lung and chest go to waste. Sit down."
He sat down, the same expression as Aizawa, a mixture of embarrassment and some sheepishness at being scolded by the doctor. Except he was more expressive because trying to read Aizawa was like reading a brick wall sometimes.
Nintaimi nodded, satisfied. "Ma'at, you're free to make one thing, but afterwards you have to eat at least your body weight in preferably protein. I'm not kidding."
That sounded amazing. Momo's stomach growled at her, apparently choosing now to express its displeasure at her.
She created the machine to track the tracker and offered it to the detective who took it.
"Thank you. Now maybe listen to the doctor," he advised.
"Make your friends do it before saying that to a kid who does listen to me," Nintaimi sniffed, frowning at All Might, who shrunk in on himself a little bit.
Momo resisted the urge to laugh at them.
"Now if you'll excuse me and my current favorite hero because she listens to me, we need to get Ma'at food."
Nintaimi steered Momo out and into the hallway, kicking the door shut behind them. "Alright kid. Cafeteria. Let's have you consume roughly your body weight in food."
"Yes please," Momo agreed as her stomach growled loudly at her again.
With a large amount of food consumed and packed away for energy, Momo was feeling much better. The food had helped a bit with lessening the anger she had quietly bottled up in the back of her mind.
Then she remembered what Nintaimi had said while steering her out. "Why would I be your favorite hero? I'm not even a hero yet, I don't have any kind of license?"
Nintaimi hummed, working on some paperwork she'd collected from a desk they'd passed on the way over. "You'll get your license first try I'm sure, and you're my favorite at the moment since you're listening to me without me having to threaten you beforehand. I had to carry through with a threat or several on both Yagi and Aizawa. I have them better trained now, but it still takes some threatening."
"Oh. You call them by their last names? But you call me by my hero name." Momo swallowed one more bite before she spoke, and pushed her empty plate away. She was good for now. The plate joined a somewhat precarious stack of other empty plates.
"I usually use hero names as a mark of respect," Nintaimi said, finally looking up. "I use yours because you've given me no reason I shouldn't respect you. It anything, there are few to no heroes I respect more, especially since you dealt with your first death in a remarkably healthy fashion. You aren't self injuring or participating in stupid behavior outside the norm for a hero class. Plus you listen to the doctors and waited for me to come take the iv out instead of pulling it out yourself. So yes, I respect you quite a bit. I'm sure that respect will only increase when we inevitably work together when you graduate and become a hero full time."
Momo was probably blushing, and she did her best to ignore it. "Thank you, that means a lot." And it did, although it was a bit amusing and slightly nerve wracking to know she was more respected by Nintaimi then All Might and their teacher. But also hilarious.
"Now Yagi and Aizawa on the other hand," Nintaimi said, shaking her head disappointedly.
Momo full on giggled at her tone, ducking her head in a vague effort to hide it.
Nintaimi laughed too. "When All Might finally retires, or maybe when he dies, I will start complaining about how bad of a patient he was. If he's not number one the hero commission can't stop me."
Momo giggled harder, her shoulders shaking with it. It was amusing if nothing else to know that All Might, perfect shining symbol of peace, was absolutely hated in the medical world for his pathological inability to rest when he's been injured.
(A/N) This derailed slightly, but I'm not mad. Nintaimi takes exactly no bs and isn't afraid to threaten the number one hero if he dares question the authority of the doctors trying to care for him. She has worked with Aizawa and All Might in her capacity as a hero before, although more often with Aizawa since she specializes in abuse and trafficking cases. Both as a hero and as a medic. Also somebody save me from the rescue bakugo arc I don't know what I'm doing.
