(A/N) *I don't know what I'm doing save me*
Kirishima came into her room a little bit before visiting hours were over, followed quickly by Toru, Mashirao, Iida, and Todoroki.
"We need to help rescue Hitoshi," Toru said firmly at Momo's curious glance. "The teachers and several pro heroes are going, but they can't help him much, not when he's so terrified of them."
She was right of course, no matter that the heroes were there to save Hitoshi and Bakugo, Hitoshi wouldn't particularly appreciate being stuck around the heroes with nothing to use to protect himself. Nothing to hide behind.
"And I really wanna help my Bakubro," Kirishima admitted somewhat sheepishly. "And help you get your friend back."
The 'getting their friends back' proved to be harder than it looked. Momo didn't know who the villain was, but once All Might arrived to start yelling at him, that was cleared up really quick. All for One. The inverse of One for All.
The amounts of power they were throwing around was terrifying, more than Momo had seen in one place. This was probably why the original fight between the two wasn't at all in the media. Seeing this kind of power? Civilians would doubt that the heroes could do anything against that.
They had to hope it'd work out anyway. For now, they were all huddled behind a collapsed wall waiting for a good time, and any sign of Bakugo or Hitoshi.
They waited for several minutes until Momo spotted the whirling black portals from the USJ.
"Get ready to run," she whispered to Iida, Kirishima, and Mashirao. They'd be going in to get Hitoshi and Bakugo out in the confusion.
"I'll give a sign," Toru whispered. She was going to warn the pair so they were ready to go. Hopefully, no one would notice her. She was invisible and Momo just hoped it'd work.
Sure enough, the villains appeared, and with them, Hitoshi and Bakugo. Neither were restrained, although they were surrounded. Hitoshi was looking around warily, although not focusing on the villains.
Toru had presumably slipped away, and Momo saw Hitoshi flinch in surprise then relax. Bakugo looked like he was probably making some angry noise, but the villains didn't even seem to notice. That was good.
Momo pulled up her shirt, focusing on the purple kind of crystal, the largest one she could make.
It landed in her hands. It was heavy, but Momo had figured that would happen.
Bakugo made deliberate eye contact with her, and his lips drew back from his teeth. He nodded to her, shifting to be ready to run.
"I'm back," Toru whispered in Momo's ear.
Momo stood up, then threw the large crystal at them like it was a basketball.
The fractures she'd placed strategically in the crystal made it shatter when it hit the ground about in the middle of them, sending the purple crystals everywhere.
The villains screeched as their quirks went haywire and stopped working. Iida, Kirishima, and Mashirao ran out of cover, gesturing to Hitoshi and Bakugo. Mashirao roundhouse kicked the blond weird villain from the forest, sending her to the ground.
Momo leaped in too while the boys ran for safety. She'd stay here just in case, to make sure they could get away.
One of the villains looked to be charging their quirk, and Momo let her anger wash over her. They were not getting to her friends. Not now, not again.
A staff fell from her arm into her hand, tipped with a purple crystal.
One jab right in the chest cut their quirk off quickly, and Momo swiped their legs out from under them in a move she'd learned from Mashirao.
One quick strike to the upper arm and ribs and they were out for the count.
Momo turned her attention to the others, spinning the staff in her hands. "Who's next."
The media was here. Momo had left the villains to the police, and had retreated back with Toru to a position to keep themselves out of the news. They weren't in their hero uniforms after all. Shouto had run after the other boys once he realized Momo had it handled. Maybe there had been a little bit of her shouting at him to go after them and make sure they were alright.
All Might, now deflated and standing triumphant, pointed in her direction(which was somewhat near a camera) and said something almost too low for her to catch. "You're next."
"What does he even mean by that?" Toru muttered, scoffing.
"He means me," Momo said quietly, her heart sinking slightly. "He shouldn't. I shouldn't be a symbol of the peace."
"Well there probably shouldn't be," Toru pointed out. "One symbol can't be everywhere. One hero can't do everything. And did you hear Nintaimi's complaining? Putting that much on one person just leads to pointless suffering for them."
Momo just hummed to show she was listening, eyes focused on the fallen villain. He'd done so much, orchestrated so many things.
Could prison even hold him? Even Tartarus, how much could it do to hold a villain that had been around for centuries and had more quirks in his grasp then there were people in Japan?
"Besides, people need breaks sometimes," Toru continued, still talking, slightly oblivious to Momo's thoughts going in darker directions.
How many quirks did the guy have? He had to have at least a few healing and longevity quirks, so even if they did put him in Tartarus, he could probably just wait until the prison was dust around him.
Could they afford to let him just sit in prison? A prison that might not even hold him?
"Give me a second, I need to check something," Momo said to Toru when she paused her rant to take a breath.
"Be careful," Toru replied, resting a warm hand on Momo's back.
Momo carefully approached the prone villain, the medics warily approaching him behind her. All Might was being cared for off to the side, so no one was really there to bear witness.
He had probably thousands of quirks, and included in those had to be at least one long life or immortality quirk.
A purple crystal fell out of her arm into her hand. She could only hope this would take him out for longer, if not outright kill him.
It was wrong, and she knew it would haunt her for years to come, but when it was a supervillain that had done all of this damage, almost killed All Might, killed the successors before him… It was worth it. It was time to end his reign over the Earth. And with AFO hopefully gone, the world could move on. It was high time it did.
Momo knelt next to the prone villain, partly to show the medics it was alright to approach and check him over before he was sent to Tartarus, and partly to tuck the purple crystal into AFO's waistband.
AFO twitched, although clearly wasn't waking up as he didn't move again.
"He's dead?" One of the medics reported, looking up in confusion. "Something must've happened that killed him. Maybe that last hit was too much for him?"
It was only from years of practice schooling her face into the right expressions that kept Momo from smiling. It was over. She watched as his body seemed to degrade before their eyes, scaring the medics into backing off. It was over. He wouldn't be able to hurt anyone ever again. Now? Now they just had to destroy what was left of his empire. And Momo had every intention of making sure it was eradicated once she graduated and could focus on it full time.
For now she had to go make sure Hitoshi was alright. She could deal with her first intentional kill later.
When she looked over at All Might, he was staring at her oddly. She tilted her head at him and he shook his head. She shrugged and left to where Hitoshi was being bundled into one of the ambulances. Her friend needed her. That was all that mattered now.
(A/N) Okay so no joke, I had so much trouble writing this chapter I'm surprised I finished it before today at all. I'm still not quite sure about it, but oh well, it's the closest I'm gonna get. I have learned my lesson and will not be doing this arc again. Honestly I would've scrapped it but this was the vitally important arc to close this off, so I couldn't. I promise this fic will end with why I promise I'm not bashing the teachers, it's just people making bad choices and not realizing consequences.
