(At the School)

(12:45 PM)

Bexley was woken up about fifteen minutes later. She heard the door opening and she opened her eyes. Turning her head towards the door and she sees her big brothers coming through the door.

She got up from the chair and went to hug her brothers. "You okay, baby girl?" Soda asked, hugging his sister. "I'm fine, Soda. But Pony's sick. H-He's got a fever of 101.4. I hadn't left his side." Bexley explained. Soda and Darry went to Pony's side and so did Bexley.

Soda kneeled down next to his baby brother and shook him by the shoulder. "Pony? Can you wake up for me, hon?" Soda quietly asked, brushing back Ponyboy's hair. Ponyboy flinched at Soda's touch as if he didn't recognize his hand.

"It's alright, Pone. It's Soda." Sodapop said, speaking in his comforting tone. Ponyboy reached out to find Soda. Soda grasped Ponyboy's cold hand. "Soda?" Pony said, his voice hoarse from coughing constantly.

"Yeah, I'm here." Soda said, still brushing his hair back. Ponyboy leaned against the comforting hand. The fourteen-year-old Greaser opened his eyes, wincing at the bright light. It was so bright that his head was pounding heavily. Bexley and Soda were right next to him while Darry was talking to the nurse.

"Can you walk to the car, Pony?" Sodapop asked. Pony nodded, making him wince from the pain in his head. Sodapop put a hand behind Pony's back and Bexley took him by the hand. However, the second he started to stand, his knees instantly buckled from underneath him.

Sodapop caught him before he could hit the ground. "Easy, Pony. I've got you." Soda said, picking his baby brother up bridal style. Darry walked back over to the trio. "Bexley, you need to go back to class. We'll take care of Pony." Darry says. Bexley had no issue with going back to class, just as long as her twin brother was home safely.

"Okay. I'll see you guys later." Bexley says. She gave them a final hug goodbye before they left with Ponyboy. Bexley wanted to go too, but she knew she had to finish the school day before going home to see if Ponyboy was okay.

Bexley had her next class with Ponyboy, and he had the seat on her right side behind her. Every so often, she would glance back behind her to look at the empty desk. Yeah, he was taken home but she was still worried.
