Bexley trudged down the streets, carrying a blade in her back pocket just in case she encountered any socs. The whole walk, she couldn't stop thinking about Ponyboy. Seeing him getting that sick sent her in a state of shock.

Seeing him like that always upset her. It was because Ponyboy was not only her brother but also one of her best friends. Seeing him in pain like that upset her more than words could express.

She was even on the verge of crying. Even the look on her face showed it. She made her way to the park and sat down by the fountain, the very fountain that the Socs tried to drown Ponyboy in.

Pulling her knees up to her chest, she started to sob in her knees. She just wanted Ponyboy to get better. So why couldn't she bring herself to be there for him during this time? She didn't know.

"You okay there, little sister?" Two-Bit said, startling the young she-grease. She looked up and saw Two-Bit standing less than a car length away from her.

Two-Bit might've not been great in school or anything but Bexley knew that he was smart enough to see if one of his own was hurting. She couldn't hide her feelings from him.

"N-No…" she sobbed. Two-Bit sat down next to his sister-figure, ready to lend an ear. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, scooting closer to her.

"Tell me what's goin' on. I'm here to listen," Two-Bit said, his tone more serious than usual. Bexley leaned against him and continue to cry.

"Easy there, little sister. Tell me what's wrong." he asked, rubbing her shoulder. It took her a few minutes to calm herself down before she could tell him.

"It's about Ponyboy, huh?" Two-Bit asked. "Y-Yeah… he's not doing well, Two. He threw up badly earlier and I… I had to get out. I couldn't risk having a panic attack in front of him." Bexley admitted, trying not to bawl again.

Two-Bit rubbed Bexley's arm comfortably. He usually wasn't good at comforting people as opposed to Kathy. But his efforts seemed to be working.

"It's gonna be okay, little sister. Just remember what I said before. You guys will help him through this. Pony is a tough kid and he will make it as long as you guys will take care of him." Two-Bit said, hugging her tighter.

"You guys know that I'm here for you guys if you need someone to talk to," Two-Bit said. Bexley felt calmer now and she was subtly surprised that he was able to help her through this.

"How are you so good at this, Two?" Bexley asked, pushing back from the hug. "Don't ya know me, little sister? I can be serious when I need to be," Two-Bit smiled, patting the girl on the shoulder.

"Yeah, it's easy to forget that you can be when you act silly all the time," Bexley said, chuckling a bit. "Oh, stop. You're gonna make me blush," Two-Bit chuckled, gently waving a hand with the other on his cheek.

Bexley couldn't hold back a laugh. "That's what I was wanting to hear," Two-Bit said. "Yeah, that felt good." Bexley asked, "And I thought you were helping your mom with something?"

"Yeah, I did say that. Needless to say, I got some dough out of my efforts," he gloated. "You actually picked things up? Hope your mom didn't die of shock," Bexley jokes, standing up to her feet.

"Nope, not yet. It has yet to happen," Two-Bit answered, standing up by pushing down on his knee. "I'm gonna head home. Darry's probably worrying about me," Bexley said, feeling better enough to head home.

"Alrighty, I'm gonna head down to Buck's. Gonna put down a few," Two-Bit said, giving her a two fingered salute, "Remember what I said now!" "Okay, I will!" she said, running backwards for a bit before running in the direction of her house.
