AN: Greetings everyone!

This has been something I've wanted to do for sometime to flesh out my Freedom and Magic series. This story would basically answer questions like "What is the military structure like?" "How does the army organise its men?" and so forth, due keep in mind that I'm not someone with military experience and what I've written is both my reasoning of how my military would look and what I've gathered from sites that have answers to questions like "How long does a soldier serve?" and what not.

In any case I hope you enjoy this arguably short chapter as its more a introduction chapter then anything, nevertheless I hope you enjoy!

Command structure

The Auroran military during peace and war time is under the jurisdiction of the ministry of defence under the command of the supreme commander, those who run the day to day operations are in the High command which is a council of military leaders from all branches from the army, Air force, Navy, Marines and SDF.

When it comes to the positioning of these forces they are divided into what are called "Regional Commands" which are a step down from the High command and are responsible for the management and organisation of the various units under them in a specific region.

These Commands include

Northern Regional Command

East Regional Command

South Regional Command

West Regional Command

There's also a fifth Regional Command known as the Training Command Which handles the day to day strategic needs of various training units under its command.

Recruitment

The Auroran Armed Forces are a volunteer service which accepts those at or above the age of 18, training depends on the service but all five divided their training regimes into three phases which again depending on the branch could last from a month to ten weeks.

Through a recent addition the military has enabled those who have a desire to enlist but have a physical disability to have prosthetics as well as having special mental programs to help those with more mental disabilities integrate into the military.

Service Life

Depending on the branch, unit and general situation of both the individual and the nation, a soldier could be serving in the military for two to six years with two weeks of leave six months after deployment again depending on the branch of the military. A honourable or dishonourable discharge could result in the soldier's retirement happening sooner.

Strategy

The Auroran military by the end of the war with the Coalition of Ordered Governments, had developed a force based around high quality training and equipment using the vast recourses of the Republic Mainland to build and maintain such a high geared force.

Because of the independent nature of the FRA's military branches, all five are expected to work to gather to maximise combat performance. As such each branch (in particular the Army, Marines and the SDF) although having similarities in doctrine are all geared towards combined arms warfare unlike the COG which put much more emphasis on its army then any other branch.

AN: And that's that yes I know its short but this is my first time trying to make a military thats both practical and original.

If you have any questions then ask them in the comments PLEASE and then i'll answer them in the next chapter.
