Chapter Five: In Which Hypocrisy Is Trashed

"But I gotta tell yeh, I thought you two'd value yer friends more'n broomsticks and rats. Tha's all."

"You are one to talk!" Harry exclaimed, "Remember first year? Remember Norbert, Hagrid? I would have thought you valued our lives more than you being able to raise a dragon! We had to get rid of Norbert so you wouldn't get in trouble! We took the heat, so you wouldn't! We lost all those points for Gryffindor and our reputation with the people we live with! For you, Hagrid! We did it for you!"

There was a long silence.

"If she'd just get rid of that cat, I'd speak to her again!" said Ron angrily. "But she's still sticking up for it! It's a maniac, and she won't hear a word against it!"

"Ah, well, people can be a bit stupid abou' their pets," Hagrid said wisely.

"So it's perfectly fine if Hermione's stupid about her pet but I can't be stupid about mine?"

There was a long silence.

AN: Hagrid was being a hypocrite in the first one, so Harry points it out.
