Hello, my friends, I am back with another chapter of Black Roses. The last chapter was a good one, it was a chapter I had to rewrite it a couple of times in order to get the right feel for it. Several questions were asked. One of them is something that was answered in the first chapter.
To christianlukebustillo- I'll be going in the anime version of Black, not the manga. Hence in the anime, he doesn't go Super Saiyan, not sure why, but I think it fits him. (Though that doesn't mean Super Saiyan Black doesn't look badass either).
That's the only question I'll be answering, why? Because I don't want to give too much information. I like to keep it close to the chest, you all understand right?
Now with nothing else to say, lets get on with this chapter.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything of DBZ/DBS or RWBY so please support the official release.
The room was quiet, the faint sounds of snoring were the only thing that resonated in team RWBY's room. Yang was close to falling off her bed. Blake was sleeping on her side, Weiss was sleeping on her side facing the wall, and Ruby was sleeping on her stomach facing the window.
Then, quiet taps were heard coming from the window. The taps were closer to Ruby's bed; thus the redhead was able to pick up the noise. With a groan, Ruby slowly opened her eyes. Lifting her head up she looked around seeing everyone still sleeping. The tapping sound was then heard again.
"What the," She forced herself up and hopped off her bed. She reached over to the curtains and pulled them to the side. The light of the moon nearly blinded her. After rubbing her eyes for a second, she looked around the window, wondering where the tapping sounds were coming from.
Not seeing anything, she was about to close the curtains again that was until she saw a hand wave from outside. Blinking out confusion Ruby slowly opened the window enough to stick her head out. When she looked to her right she was surprised to Black on the edge of her dorm's window. "B-Black?" She questioned, "What're you doing here?"
Instead of explaining, Black answered with, "Change and follow me." He then jumped down.
"…Huh?" Ruby was absolutely confused. Not bothering to think about too much, Ruby quickly changed into her Slayer outfit. She then opened the window again and hung out, still holding on to the edge of her window she slowly closed it. She made sure her teammates were still sleeping. "Okay, now," Ruby looked down, she saw Black on the ground waiting for her. She kicked off the wall and went straight down. She landed with minimal sound.
"So, where we are heading?" She asked.
"Come," Black said, causing Ruby to sigh. She followed him to the shipping hanger, they boarded a ship back to Vale. After landing the two walked down the street. During their walk, Ruby noticed how quiet the streets were, she was so used to hearing the cars and people that the quiet kinda creeped here out. She noticed Black stop, looking ahead she saw that they were in front of Vale's wall. "Umm, Black, what're we doing here?" She questioned, usually they just take city gate.
Without giving Ruby a response, Black jumped up and skipped from one to building to the next, making his way up to the top of the wall. Reaching the top, he looked down and motioned her to follow. Ruby scratched her head; she still had no clue what he was up to. Lowering herself a bit. She mimicked the same moves and made it to the top. Just after she looked up to see him, she witnessed him jump off the wall, "Wha?!" She quickly jumped off as well.
When she landed, Ruby saw him run into the forest, "Hey wait up!" Chasing after him. Finally catching up and now running alongside him, she questioned him again, "Where are we heading?"
Her question was countered with another question, "Your specialty is speed, right?"
"Huh?"
Black turned his head to her, "Try to keep up snail." Soon after, he skipped ahead and continued to skip from one place to another. The new speed he was going shocked Ruby. Though her shocked expression morphed into an annoyed one after hearing him call her a snail. She let out a small growl before activating her semblance. Bursting into petals, Ruby's speed increased greatly, but even with the help of her semblance, she was barely able to catch up to him. "How is he so fast?!"
She pushed herself further, her speed now blowing the trees she flies past. She was going so fast now Ruby was barely able to keep her eyes open. Then suddenly Black stopped and raised his hand. Ruby's eyes widen, her sudden halt caused her to lose her footing and fall forward. Ruby rolled past Black, before crashing into a tree.
Hearing the crash, Black turned to the girl. Ruby's eyes had swirls in them as she was upside down. She let out a groan and then shook the dizziness away. She looked up to see Black staring down at her with an expressionless look. A nervous smile spread across her face. Her smile then changed into a shocked one and her face turning beet red when her blouse fell down. She quickly pushed it up, her face slowly looked back up, only to see he wasn't there anymore. Instead, Black was seen walking off. She sighed in relief. Ruby was glad he didn't see.
Pushing herself up to her feet, she jogged ahead till she was walking alongside him again. As they continued to walk Ruby looked around, it was nothing but trees here. She noticed that the faint morning light was becoming visible in the sky.
She didn't even bother to check what time they left. Must've been around five in the morning or something. "So Black, since we're not going to be running anymore. Mind telling me where we're heading?" She asked once again.
The ex Kaioshin stopped in his tracks and turned his head to face her. "We're going to get you the help you need." Was all he said before walking into a set of tall bushes. Ruby stood there confused, unsure at what he meant. She'll probably find out once she gets there. Following into the same set of bushes she saw him walk into. Pulling herself through the thick bushes, she managed to make it to the other side. But as she exited the bushes, her eyes widen in astonishment at what was before her.
In front of Ruby was one of the most beautiful sceneries she's ever seen. A small clear stream slowly flowing down, with flowers by the edges of the stream. The trees surrounding the area let it enough light in, making the place look almost majestic. The sounds of the morning birds chirping around them brought a peaceful feel to the area. "Whoa, this place, its-its amazing." Ruby kept looking around in awe.
"It is, now sit down, its time to get started." Black said, already sitting down next to stream.
"Get started on what?" Ruby asked while taking a seat in front of him.
"We're gonna bring out your Ki."
Ruby was surprised, "B-but you said that you weren't going to help."
"That is true, but throughout this week I have noticed you haven't progressed at all on your own." Hearing this caused Ruby to look down. "There is no need to feel down about it. Your lack of progress does not mean you do not have the potential to. But merely means you're going on it the wrong way."
Ruby looked back up, "What, but I have been doing it the same way you said to do it."
"You have, but you do not understand what you're looking for, the distractions of the school and your frustrated emotions are impeding you from fully concentrating within yourself. That's why I brought you here." Gesturing to their surroundings, "Shall we begin," Ruby hesitated with her answer, before giving him a nod. Black held his hands facing up, "Place your hands over mines."
Ruby did as she was told, resting the back of her hands on top of his. "Close your eyes and relax." Ruby followed Black's actions, then proceeded to relax. Letting the sounds of forest, animals, and the flowing stream fill her ears. "Now, I am going to let my ki flow through my hands into yours." Just like he said he would, Black's ki surrounded his hands before traveling into Ruby's. It was a strange feeling, having such power flow through her hand. "Open your eyes now."
Ruby did so, floating in her hands was an orb made of Ki. Her eyes shined in amazement, she's seen the orb before but seeing this up close, it felt warm and powerful, but also, comforting. Just as the orb appeared it disappeared. Ruby blinked her awing stare away before looking up at Black. He removed his hands and crossed his arms. "Now that you have experienced Ki first hand, remember the feeling of what you felt and search it within yourself."
Ruby looked down at her hands, "Search the same feeling, within me." She closed her eyes and concentrated. The wind breezed through her, her ears being filled with the sounds around her. "Relax and concentrate." She searched within her, finding her Aura reserves and now searched past it. "Remember the feeling…remember." As she continued her search, she able to finally see something, it was the same warm feeling she felt before. Reaching for it Ruby slowly began to bring it out.
Black eyes narrowed sensing Ki gather in Ruby's hand. Her energy slowly forming a small orb. Bit by bit the orb grew larger till it was the same size as a normal orb. Black smirked, "She finally did it," As Black was about to tell Ruby of her success, he senses something abnormal causing his eyes to peak with interest.
Ruby who was still concentrating within herself was happy that she found her Ki reserves, now she just hoped that she was able to bring out her Ki into her hands as Black and Jaune did. Opening her eyes, she expected to see an orb in her hands, but what her eyes found was a couple of flowers beneath her hands. Blinking in confusion Ruby lifted her head, her eyes slightly widening in surprise. She was no longer in the forest, but instead, she was in a field of flowers.
"What the…" Getting up from the floor she took a look around, only to see endless fields of flowers. As she was looking around her eyes caught a trail. She walked over to the trail and started her way up. "Black!" Calling out her friend's name. looking for any sign of him. "Where am I?" She openly asked herself. Still walking down the trail she noticed that in the field it had batches, each batch was a different type and color then the next. They were all beautiful.
Continuing on the path she admired every flower she walked by. Pinkish purplish Anemones, Yellow Lilys, Blue Irises and-. Ruby came to halt at the next batch. In front of her was a batch of White Roses.
Ruby stood there, staring at the batch of White Roses. Oddly enough the more she stared the more of her mom's face came into view. Ruby closed her eyes and gave a deep sigh, then a sly smile formed on her mouth.
She gave a quick glance to the next back only for her eyes to immediately face it again. A surprise expression fell upon her face. Next to the White Roses was a batch of blooming Red Roses.
Her eyes moved from the White Roses to the Red Roses. White Rose was her mother's symbol, and to see her symbol of a Red Rose next to her mother's…was it a coincidence. Yea, it had to be, there was no way this meant something, she was just over thinking it.
Ruby laughed at herself, her eyes landing back at blooming Red Roses. Her smile slowly disappearing. But…what if she wasn't…
Suddenly a faint whisper was heard, making her jump a bit. Looking to the direction of where she heard the whisper, Ruby was surprised to see that she had reached the end of the trail, and a couple of steps away was a single Daffodil and underneath it was a white—wait no, a silver feather.
For some odd reason, she could not look away from the feather. Her legs began moving on their own, slowly taking her closer to the feather. Her head began feeling fuzzy, the closer she got. The soft whispers became more frequent.
Black's eyes narrowed when he began to notice the inside of the orb swirling with a silver light. A faint glow seeping from Ruby's closed eyes.
Now closer to the feather, Ruby unconsciously reaching an arm out. She didn't know why, but she felt so…attracted to it as if she was meant to touch it.
"What?" Black watched as the yellow orb replaced by now a silver one with energy continuing to swirl inside. A faint glow seeped from Ruby's closed eyes.
Now in front of the feather, Ruby fell to her knees. The whispers louder than before. She reached for it.
The glow from Ruby's eyes became brighter, and the energy within the orb grew stronger. Black was astonished by what was happening. He gasped when he was picking up something familiar.
Ruby eyes lost their shine and began glowing. Her hands' mere inches from touching it, then suddenly, a hand grabbed her by the shoulder, "Not yet." A soft voice said.
Ruby gasped her eyes shooting up blinking a couple of times, in front of her was Black now. Seeing that she had her eyes open, Black rid the look he had morph into a smirk. "Congratulations Ruby, you finally achieved the first step of Ki control." Ruby's eyes moved down to her hands; a smile spread across her mouth. In her hands was a yellow orb, her ki. Not being able to contain her jo she jumped up to her feet and screamed. "I did it!" Her sudden scream scared some of the birds away.
Realizing how loud she screamed just now, Ruby covered her mouth. "Sorry," She whispered. Black just glared at her. He then hung his head down with a sigh. "It was to be expected." Ruby flashed him an innocent smile. She took her seat in front of him again and placing her hands in front of her. "Shall we continue?" He asked, her answer was a smile and nod.
Back at Beacon, two swords clashed with one another. The wielders of those swords belonged to Jaune and Pyrrha. Faint sparks appeared as the two tried to push the other back. Jaune smiled, and Pyrrha smiled back, but then her smile turned into a smirk. She crouched down and swiped Jaune off his feet. She expected him to fall down but was surprised to see him retract his shield and use his now free hand to catch himself before twisting his body around and pushing himself up, back to his feet.
Pyrrha stopped questioning Jaune astounding physical improvements and focused on training him. Don't get her wrong, she still curious what kind of training he did with Black.
Pyrrha rushed at him, she spun and swung her sword around, Jaune gave a small hop back avoiding the sword. Pyrrha followed up next by up cutting Jaune with her shield then kicking him in the chest.
Jaune's back hit the floor before rolling himself back to his feet. He sprinted full speed at her. Pyrrha barely had time to lean back away from Jaune sword. The blond teen was hoping for her to dodge. Jaune spun around on his foot, bringing his shield around. Pyrrha's eyes widen and raised her shield, Jaune slammed his shield into hers, the strength behind the swing sent her crashing into the wall.
Pyrrha lifted her head up, and rushed at him, jumping up and switching Milo into its spear form and firing it at Jaune. Arc raised his shield and blocked the spear. Pyrrha caught Milo and rolled past Jaune and turned around switching Milo back to sword form then swinging it up knocking Jaune's shield away. She then proceeded to strike Jaune with various attacks. Jaune did his best to dodge and block them with his sword.
Jaune gritted his teeth as he was forced to twist his body to the side after Pyrrha threw her shield at him. He then charged at her once again with his at his side, Pyrrha doing the same. His picked up Pyrrha smirking at him. He gasped when he felt something hard hit the back of his head. The shield Pyrrha threw had ricochet once then another time till it hit Jaune. Having lost his balance Jaune was barely able to maintain his footing as he was running forward.
Pyrrha took this opportunity to aim Milo at the ground and switch it to spear mode, firing it at the same time, propelling her up. Raising both feet, she slammed herself into Jaune's chest causing him to fall back and hit the ground. Milo switching back to sword mode, Pyrrha brought it forward and aimed it at Jaune face.
"Looks like I win again Jaune." She said with a smile.
Jaune let out a defeated sigh, before laughing softly. "Man, three months and I'm still nowhere near as good as you." Pyrrha offered him a hand which he gladly took. Bringing him up to feet, Pyrrha then handed him his sword. "Don't be discouraged Jaune, you've greatly improved compared to day one."
"Yea," He scratched his head, a little embarrassed by her praise. It was true though. He has improved a lot, both in his swordsmanship, physical strength, and agility. But even with his new strength and stamina, it was still quite exhausting swing his sword and shield around. Not as much as before but still enough to tire him.
"I think we should start heading back, the others should be waking up right now." Pyrrha said.
"Right," The two head back to the school, and like Pyrrha has said their team and friends were already awake. As they got closer, the pair noticed a worried look on their faces. "Hey guys, what's wrong?"
Weiss was the first to speak up. "Ruby wasn't in bed when we woke up, and she left her scroll here."
"Same with Black," Gohan added.
Jaune had an idea where they could be, but he can't tell them. "It's odd you know, those two missing at the same time." Nora started to question, "Oooo, what if they're secretly dating?!"
Three heads picked up and looked at Yang's direction whose eyes were lowly glowing red. "T-That's ridicules, Ruby would never date a guy like him."
"Oh, how would you know?" Nora pressed on, "Opposites tend to attract."
Weiss tried to keep her composer up. Thankfully Blake was there to intervene. "So, like you and Ren?" She smirked.
The ginger blushed deeply, and shook her hands in front of her, "We're not together together, we're just friends!"
Blake chuckled, "Relax, I'm only kidding."
"Still we don't know where they are." Yang's voiced out, a bit of seriousness in her voice.
Jaune picked this up quick and quickly thought of a way to cover his two friends. "Um…I actually have an idea where they might have gone." All heads turned to the blond.
Yang grabbed him by the collar, "Where!?" Surprising the others.
"I-I don't know where exactly. I only saw them walking out the school with a bunch of tools and Ruby carrying Crescent Rose and Saber Rose." He explained.
"Ruby probably dragged Black into one of her weapon testing and improvement projects. She had me work with her once too." Weiss added. Yang wasn't fully convinced though, narrowing her eyes at the blond boy in front of her.
Seeing the fear in Jaune face, Gohan stepped in. "Come on Yang, take it easy on him." Gripping her shoulders, trying to pull her away from him. Yang kept her stare on him for a couple more seconds before sighing and releasing him. A smile formed on her lips while rubbing the back of her head. "Sorry about that Jaune, I kinda get carried away when I hear things about a guy interested in my little sister."
"N-no, I get it. You're just filling your role as the older sibling." He nervously responded.
"Jaune are you okay? You're sweating." Pyrrha pointed out.
"Must've been from our training. I'm gonna take a shower. Excuse me." And bolted in his dorm.
"Ruby wasn't kidding about Yang being overprotective of her. It almost looked like she was ready to clobber him for answers." Both Weiss and Blake thought. Feeling bad for Jaune.
Back in the forest, small boulders were being blasted at. "HA!" A ki blast was fired at the boulder again causing it to break into small pieces. Ruby bent down and rested her hands on her knees, breathing quite heavily. Drips of sweat falling down her chin. "Again." Black ordered.
Ruby forced her arms up, hands in front of her. She focused her ki to her hands and then. "HA!" she fired a ki blast at another boulder, shattering it like all the others she shot at.
Black watched from the side. Noticing the exhaustion in her eyes. Her body barely slightly shaking. She was reaching her limit. "I think we should end it here."
Ruby's head perked up. "Huh? Why?"
"You're reaching your limit of how much Ki you can dispense from your body. Any more and you'll collapse, and I don't feel like carrying you all the way back to the school." He said, getting ready to head back to the academy.
Ruby, on the other hand, didn't want to leave just yet. In fact, she wanted to keep going. "No, I want to keep going!" She shouted, before looking back at a pair of boulders. Raising her hands in front of her again, "HA! HA!" This time she fired two blast mere seconds apart. The blast connected with the boulders, this time it caused a small explosion and wave of dust to blow their way.
Black had turned around to see the explosion. He was surprised to see that the attack power behind those two blasts was stronger than the ones she previously fired. He looked at the head, to see that she was still standing.
Energy gathered again in her hands and fired another blast. The same amount of power as last time. It was quite impressive that she's able to dish out that much power with her body about to collapse.
She fired again. Black narrowed his eyes as she fired yet again. "If this keeps up she'll end up using her up her own life energy." He walked over to her as she fired yet again. Her reluctant of giving up is admirable, but also annoying.
Ruby was about to fire another blast, till Black grabbed her wrist and lifted her up. Her feet dangled in the air, showing the clear height difference between them. "What're you doing?" He questioned, "I told you we're ending it here."
"I-I have to, keep going, in order to catch up to Jaune." She tried to remove his grip on his wrist.
"Huh?" Black oddly looked stared at her.
"I missed a whole week from training because I was trying to bring out my Ki. So now, I have make up for all the lost time." She kept trying to remove his hand but couldn't.
Black released her, letting her fall on her bottom. "Is that truly why you're excreting yourself this much, to catch up?"
Ruby looked up at him with a determined look. Black just rubbed his temples and sighed. "Well, if that's why you're pushing yourself then you have no need to." Ruby cocked her head to the side with a raised brow, hinting that she didn't understand. "Jaune stopped his training until you were able to bring out your Ki. In other words, he wanted to wait for his partner."
Ruby was surprised from hearing this. She thought he would've been days ahead of her. Instead, he waited for her. "Oh." She picked herself up. "I guess we can go back th-."
"Ah?" Black stared with a blank look as Ruby fell face forward with a thud. Looking down at her unmoving body, Black processed what just happened. "Did she just." He let out a frustrated sigh. Why him?
Ruby groaned, her eyes slowly opening to see that the trees were moving, or more so she was moving. She was being carried over someone's shoulder, noticing that the person's back was wearing a familiar gray gi. "Black." She questioned.
"Oh, you're awake." He responded.
"Have-have you been carrying me this whole time?"
"I have."
"But you said you wouldn't."
"I said it in an attempt to persuade you in stopping your actions." He answered. A blush crept across Ruby's face as Black continued to carry her. "Um…you know, you could put me down now."
"You used a lot of your power up back there. You need time to replenish your energy. You'll fall if I put you down now." He explained.
"No, I think I can walk on my own now. Really." Black stopped and looked back at her for a second before complying. As soon as her feet touched the ground Ruby was barely able to keep herself up and fell to her bottom. She tried to stand back up but fell to her knees.
"You certainly have it under control." He sarcastically said, crossing his arms in the process. Ruby laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her head. Black rolled his eyes and picked her up again.
The rest of the way was quiet. Mainly because Ruby wasn't sure what to say in her position. They finally reached the city. Ruby thought maybe Black would put her down her but he didn't. Passerbys gave them oddly stares. Ruby face turned red under the stares while Black just simply ignored them. They boarded the airship back to Beacon.
The pair continued to receive stares from people. Ruby tried her best to ignore them but the embarrassment was just too much. "Um, Black. I think you should put me down."
Black looked over his shoulder, "People are staring." She said.
Black glanced around, seeing people turn their heads away. His head turned back to Ruby. "I don't see the problem."
Ruby sweatdropped, "O-of course you don't see it."
Black could clearly see that Ruby was flustered by the stares. "Very well, once we get to the school I'll put you down." Thankfully for Ruby, she didn't have to wait long. The Airship landed on Beacon's docking bay, the doors opened, letting everyone off. Black was the last to get off and just like he promised he placed Ruby down. The Redhead wobble in the spot a bit, luckily Black was there for her to use as support. "Are you sure you can stand on your own?"
"Y-Yea, I just need some time to wake my legs up." With each step, Ruby took she was able to get more feeling in her legs again. It felt weird to be honest. Being able to barely move because of her lack of energy. It wasn't like Aura where when it's all depleted from your body you don't collapse, you'll just won't have something to protect you from hard hits anymore.
"Ruby?" A voice said. Looking ahead the pair saw Weiss and Blake walking towards them. "Oh, hey guys." Ruby weakly smiled.
"Are you alright?" Blake asked, noticing Ruby's legs shaking.
"Me? Yea, I'm good. My legs are just a bit weak right now." Both Weiss and Blake blinked a couple of times. "Huh? HUH?!"
Both Black and Ruby were confused and surprised by their reaction. "Ruby Rose how could perform such an indecent action! You're only sixteen!" Weiss yelled, her face all red.
Black and Ruby stared at weirdly. "Indecent?" Both of them unfamiliar with the word.
"We expected you to be more mature Black then give into your instinct." Blake said glaring at the ex-kaioshin.
Black and Ruby looked at each for a second and then turned back to their two friends, and tilted their heads expressing their confusion. "Huh?"
"What're you guys talking about? Black and I were training." Ruby said.
"Jaune said he saw you two walking off with your weapons and some tools. We all assumed that you were having Black help you test your weapons. But I don't see either of you carrying your weapons." Weiss pointed out.
"Jaune probably said that to cover us. But we don't have our weapons so that goes against what he saw. Think Ruby think." The redhead tried to come up with an explanation. Fortunately for her, Black was there to step in. "It's because she noticed that some of the paint on Crescent Rose was coming off and left it off at a paint shop to get it repainted. As for me, I left Saber Rose at a weapons shop, so that they could find more types of dust ammo that I can utilize for it."
"Then why are Ruby's legs wobbly?" Weiss asked.
This time Ruby stepped in. "It's because we were practicing a combo move and I kinda overused my semblance." She clarified.
Weiss squinted her eyes at her. Again, Ruby was able to keep her poker face up due to the fact that Black's gaze is heavier than hers. Weiss's eyes moved to Black and of course, her gaze had no effect on him.
"I-I guess we might've jumped to a conclusion a little to fast." Blake says, looking away while rubbing her arm.
"Yes. It would seem so." Weiss closed her eyes and sighed, "I apologize for accusing you both of doing such salacious actions."
"Uh, it's okay." Ruby unsurely said.
The bell rang signaling students five-minute warning before class starts. "We should start heading to class. Especially you two." Weiss pointed at the pair. "You both missed two classes already. You both being leaders shouldn't be skipping class for any reason." The heiress scold.
"S-sorry, we'll show up." Ruby nervously said.
Weiss turned and walked away. Blake smiled at the redhead. "It's good to see you're okay. We were a little worried. We didn't know where you have gone. But after Jaune told us that you were with Black, we were a little at ease."
"Sorry, I should've told you guys where I was going." Ruby apologized.
"It's okay. We should go or else Weiss will come back to scold you again." Blake said before walking ahead.
"Yea, ok." Ruby and Black followed the faunas. Along the way, Ruby turned her head to Black, "Hey Black, do you know what indecent and salacious mean?" She whispered.
Black stared at Ruby before giving his answer to her. "I don't know. It's my first time hearing such words."
"Oh,"
Blake was able to hear what they were whispering thanks to her cat ears. She sweatdropped at hearing Black's answers. "He's not just oblivious, I think he might be just innocent minded as Ruby too."
Raven was found sitting on one of the pillows in her tent. Faint red like flames escaping from her closed eyes, as she quietly meditated. Small crystals of ice floated around her. Each shard letting out a small glow.
Her meditation ended with the sound of footsteps coming to her tent. The flames from her eyes faded as Vernal entered the tent. "Mam, the new settlement is halfway finished."
Raven opened her eyes and stood up. "Have the men checked if for any surrounding Grimm?"
"Yes, just a couple Beowolves and some creeps. All were taken care off. We'll have patrols running a perimeter check every thirty minutes."
Raven walked past Vernal and opened the entryway of her tent, closing her eyes to mask the annoyance of the light hitting her. "Good, we should start sending informants to nearby settlements. Have them gather information on trade routes, defenses," Opening her eyes again, "And local huntsm-." Raven stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes widen in shock. Before her was the Kingdom of Vale, all of it destroyed, fires everywhere, as the skies were covered with dark clouds, lightning flashing everywhere. She noticed a light coming from behind her. Turning around her eyes were met with a burning school of Beacon Academy. Her eyes widen in horror as she witnessed bodies on the floor belonging to students, her brother, Tai, Ruby, and… "…Yang?" The lifeless body of her daughter brought despair to her, she took a step forward, but just as soon as she did something pierced her body causing her body to arch back. Raven screamed in pain, she looked down to see a pink energy blade had stabbed through her stomach.
Raven slowly looked back at her attacker only to see Vernal standing there with a confused expression. "Mam' are you alright?" Her companion asked.
Raven stared at Vernal for a couple of seconds then turned to her tribe who were also staring at her weirdly. This glimpse of weakness, did they see? Raven turned back to the tent and walked past Vernal not before telling her, "I'm fine, get everyone's to assigned roles. I don't want anyone just standing!" Vernal remained in her place still surprised at her leader's outburst. It wasn't like Raven to lose her cool. So, what happened? Did it have something to do with her suddenly stopping in her tracks and remaining motionless?
When Raven entered her tent she held her head in exhaustion, her breathing a bit faster than normal. "What the hell was that?" Was that a vision or just some sort of unrealistic imagination of hers? Raven coughed a couple of times, covering her mouth she let the last cough out. After being done with that she looked down and noticed faint blood on her glove. "Blood...?" She quietly questioned. Her eyes narrowed and quickly unsheathed her sword and swung it to her left, stopping only centimeters away from Adam's eye.
"I see you never let your guard down." He commentated.
Raven eyes turned into a glare, her teeth clenched together. "You!" She stomped towards him and grabbed him by the collar. "What did you do to me?!"
Adam remained silent, letting Raven continue. "Something just happened to me! I saw things! I saw-."
"The world on fire." Silent filled the tent. Raven eyes were filled with a mixture of surprise and confusion. "Di-did you also,"
"I did." Adam said. Raven let go of him and took a step back. "What are we seeing? Why are we seeing these things?"
"I don't know, but it must have something to do with when we touched the sealed doors in the cave. As to what we were seeing, it could be visions of what might take place in the future." He explained.
"Seeing the future. You know how ridiculous that sounds."
"I do, yet we can't deny what we saw. Not just to what happened to the world but to the people in it as well." Raven looked away with a frown. Remembering the lifeless body of her daughter. And all those she knew. "There is something odd I noticed though." Her attention was brought back to Adam. "Your vision came with some effects didn't it?" Adam asked, glancing at her hand where she coughed the blood into.
"I was, stabbed by a blade. Not a normal one, but one made of energy. Like-."
"Ki," Adam finished her sentence. Wondering how he knew what she was going to say she waited for him to continue. "I only fought one person that had the ability to convert their Ki into a blade." Raven's eyebrow rose, realizing who he was referring to. "You think he was the one that will cause the things we saw?"
"It would not be surprising to me."
Raven crossed her arms. "Why is that?"
"Because during my partnership with him I've seen him have a hatred view of both humanity and faunas. He spared no one in our missions." Adam looked down. Remembering the slaughtering Black would do, all while having that sadistic grin on his face. He would never admit but Black truly frightened him. "But then again, it could be Salem's doing. We already went up against a Grimm that was able to produce its own Ki. I would not be surprised if she managed to create a creature that is able to manipulate it into a blade as well."
Raven's eyes fell to the floor. If what Adam was saying is true, that it could be Black or Salem that are the cause of her vision then…
Damn, neither was good. Her fist clenched tightly. Adam noticed this. "I think it's best we keep this between us. For time being we should just act normally." Adam said, turning to take his leave.
"And if Black is the one in our visions?"
The bull Faunas stopped in his tracks. "Then I'll stop him."
"You'll stop him? Sorry, but you're not exactly Saiyaman."
"I might not be but," Adam glanced over his shoulder. "I am quite adaptable."
And cut! Boom there you go, folks, chapter 22. I hope you liked it. I know it's kinda short chapter compared to the previous ones, I wanted to get this out because I have to reread my entire story careful and re-note some important parts I've written because these next coming chapters I have to be careful on how I will place them in the RWBY story with the dance infiltration and Breach events coming soon.
Oh for those who are waiting for Chapter 3 of Saiyan Instincts it's already in progress. It'll most likely be done a couple of days before chapter 23 of Black Roses is posted.
Whelp I'll see you guys next time, PEACE!
