Hello my friends, I am back with another chapter of Black Roses. I'm glad you guys liked last chapter, throwing in some Ruby x Black teases in there. As well as introducing two new characters. To be honest, I got the idea of Eby from a movie, and how she looks like was thought up by my little sister. Eby isn't going to just side character, she's going to play an important role in this.

Cbustroyer: No, no other characters from DBZ or DBS will appear in the story. For now…
Gamer of Action44D: Yes, Adam does wear a mask to hide the Schnee brand but remember we or should I didn't know that until it was later revealed in the fight between Blake and Yang vs Adam and I had already revealed Adam's face in my story. Red-orange eyes instead of the light blue ones and of course no brand.
Well, that will be it for the questions, don't want to give away too much. So now, why don't we get on with the story.

An explosion of dirt burst up into the night sky. Trees crashing down, loud clashing sounds. Birds flying away from the destruction.
"GAAAH!" Jaune crashed into several trees and rolled across the floor. Ruby jumped back with gritted teeth bruises on her cheek and some parts of her training clothes held rips. A hand reached out and a ki orb was shoved into her face. An explosion followed suit, blowing Ruby back. Her body landed next to Jaune. Their bodies twitched in pain. Mustering whatever strength, they had left they pushed themselves back up. Panting, they raised their eyes.
Black slowly made his way to them. The two teens lifted their hands and together they fired a ki wave. Black skipped towards it and then quickly slid under the attack. A shocked look appeared on their faces.
Reaching their positions. Black raised his fist and nailed Ruby in the gut causing her to cough, and eyes to widen. He spun around and elbowed Jaune in the face, he reached over and grabbed him by the collar and lifted him over and slammed him to the ground. Jaune cough, feeling the air leave his body.
Black tilted his head to the side, dodging Ruby's fist. He lifted his arm up and off backhand her. He spun around and kicked her in the rib. Ruby's eyes widen and raised her arm up in time, but the force in his leg was too much. So, her body went shooting into several trees.
Black leaned his head back, avoiding Jaune leg. Landing on his feet Jaune spun around and charged at him. Throwing a barrage of fists at the ex-kaioshin. Each of his attacks was blocked and easily avoided. Jaune threw one final punch which was caught in Black's grip. Pulling forward, Black used his free hand placed it on Jaune stomach before firing a large blast.
Jaune came flying from the attack, crashing into a boulder and flipping in the air, then landing on his back.
Black stood straight up. Senses picked up something coming and quickly raised his hands, catching Ruby's fist and arm. His feet digging into the ground as he was pushed back a bit from the force Ruby collided with him.
Ruby growled as used the strength in her legs to push him back. Black grunted as he had to use a little more strength to keep her still. Having enough of this stalemate, Ruby raised her knee. Black pushed away from her causing her to miss. But Ruby wasn't done, as she hopped off her other foot and aimed a high kick to Black's head. The ex-kaioshin ducked under it and was crossed his arms when Ruby brought her other leg around and kicking him back.
Black landed on his feet and looked up in time to see Ruby running at him with a fist thrown. He leaned away from it and threw his own fist. Ruby quickly ducked and caught herself with one hand and the other aimed a ki orb to Black's abdomen.
Black used his leg and kicked the orb away, then grabbing Ruby's leg and throwing her. Ruby flipped herself to land on her feet and skidded across the ground, turning back towards her opponent.
Black skipped after her ready to throw his attacks till from the corner of his eye he saw Jaune from the side. Abruptly stopping, Black leaned back avoid Jaune's fist. The blond teen having missed his attack quickly turned and raised his leg, forcing Black to skip back.
Suddenly, Ruby flipped over the blond and came dive towards him. Black crossed his arms and blocked her dropkick but was still slammed to the ground. Raising his leg, he kicked the redhead off him and flipped back to his feet.
Black raised his forearm to block Jaune's punch, and countered with his own, to which the blond caught in his hand. The two continued to exchange blows, leaving a trail of dust. Both countering each other's attacks but not being able to land a decisive blow. Then Jaune went for a for blow to Black's face but was not quick enough as his fist was caught in Black's grip. The ex-kaioshin used his other fist and uppercutting Jaune. He followed it up by grabbed Jaune by the face and slamming his head to the ground.
Jaune felt his head go fuzzy for a second before regaining his senses and bring his knee to his chest and driving it to Black's gut. The attack surprised him and caused him to let go and push him up a bit. Jaune quickly used his hands to balance himself and brought over his other leg and kicking Black across the face. Black's body flew across the ground before hitting the ground.
Jaune Arc flipped himself back to his feet and skipped back to create some distance.
Black slowly pushed himself to his feet then turning his head to Jaune. A small scratch was visible on his cheek. Jaune felt amazed that he was able. A smile formed on his lips. But Jaune small parade was short-lived as he saw Black glaring at him.
In a blink of an eye, Black skipped towards him. Jaune quickly crossed his arms to block whatever attack was coming at him. But was unfortunate to have Black slip through his defenses and heavily gut-punching him. Jaune's body was lifted from the ground, in his shocked state he was not able to evade the next punched which hit him across the face. Jaune was sent flying back. Black appeared behind Jaune and swung his leg, hitting the teen in the back. The impact was incredibly hard that caused a small shockwave and Jaune to cough up saliva. His body crashed into several trees before rolling across the floor.
Jaune twitched in pain, his arms shaking as he tried to push himself back up. Only for him to collapse again. As he was heavily panting, his's ear picked up the sound of nearing footsteps. Glancing over his shoulder he saw Black calmly walking towards him.
Jaune finally managed to sit upon his knees. He then twisted around and hurled a ki orb at him, unfortunately, it was merely slapped away by Black. Stopping two yards away from the tired teen, Black narrowed his eyes. "You call that an attack? That was pathetic."
Jaune lowered his head down and started chuckling, causing Black to raise a brow. "It wasn't meant to hurt." Jaune gave a weak smile. "It was meant to distract you a bit longer."
Black gasped and with surprised eyes, he turned around to see Ruby holding a large ki orb, "HAHHHH!" She hurled the powerful orb straight at him. Black prepared himself to knock it up back but suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around him. "What the!" Glancing back, Jaune had jumped at him to hold him still.
A large explosion followed next as the orb collided with the teens. Ruby had to shield herself with her arms from the strong gust of wind blowing the dirt and dust all around.
Ruby kept her eyes on the spot. She saw that the attack hit, and she put everything into that orb. She hoped she'd at least hurt him a bit. Her half lid eyes stared forward, her breathing was heavy, and her body threatened to collapse from exhaustion due to that last attack.
The smoke finally settled, and a dark figure could be seen. When Ruby was able to register who it was, she nervously laughed. "Man, I thought that would work."
From the smoke, Black stood, holding Jaune by the collar. His back held burn marks. Black had managed to spin himself and Jaune around which caused the orb to hit Jaune instead of himself.
Black abruptly dropped the blond teen. He lifted his hand and dusted off his gi. "Quite the attack you did there. Too bad it failed."
"Heh, what part did we mess up?" Ruby asked.
"The part where Jaune was too weak to keep a hold on me. Maybe if you would've thrown your attack sooner, I might've been in trouble. Might've." He empathized.
The two stared down at one another. Ruby's vision was beginning to go blurry. Black was able to sense her weak state but kept quiet about it. "Bring it," Ruby said, slipping into her fighting stance.
Black did nothing for a second but complied and slipped into his own. The two then darted towards each other fist pulled back. And as they neared one another, a white aura formed around Ruby's fist catching Black's attention. Suddenly Ruby's vision went dark and she lost consciousness. Black's eyes slightly widen and slowed himself down and caught her in his arms.
Black gazed at Ruby's head resting on his chest before closing his eyes and sighing.
Ruby's twitched a bit before slowly opening. "Ugh…" She groaned as she sat up holding shaking her head to rid some of the dizziness still present. She felt a cool breeze and made her shiver a bit, upon look around she noticed that her surroundings had changed. She was now at the edge on a cliffside. "…Wha- how did I get here?"
"You're awake." Black's voice says.
Looking behind her, Black was sitting on a rock with a book in his hand. "You lost consciousness during our spar." He stated.
"Oh, sorry." She rubbed the back of her head with an apologetic smile.
"Don't be. You've exhausted yourself way beyond your limit. I was surprised you were able to generate that much power in your last attack. It proves your making progress, as is Jaune." Remembering the two blows the blond teen managed to land. His thoughts also went back to the aura that formed around Ruby's fist. Somehow, she managed to convert Ki to her fist in that last attack. While it wasn't that strange energy he was hoping to witness again, it was still impressive that she was able to do what she did.
Ruby caught sight of the book he was holding and noticed it had no title on it. As a matter of fact, it didn't look like a book at all, actually, it looked very familiar. "Hey, that book, isn't that…"
"Yea, it's one of Eby's drawing books." He lifted for her too see.
"You took her book?" Ruby questioned with some surprise.
"I forgot I had it on me." He corrected. "I was planning to return it this morning to her."
"She'll probably be happy once she finds out you had it and she didn't just lose it." Ruby said, "Hey you think I could I take a look?" Black handed her the artbook. Flipping through the pages Ruby was once again astonished by the talent Eby had. Each drawing was carefully drawn with such care and precision. Such an amazing kid, to think she's an orphan.
The pair have been recently visiting the little Faunas girl for the past couple of days. Each time they did Eby opened up more to them. She would tell them about her dreams of exploring the world and helping people. She was surprised to hear when Eby said she like being in the outdoors more than in the city. Wonder who that reminded her of.
As her thoughts were on Eby and the orphanage she then remembered something. "Umm Black, I've been meaning to ask." The false Saiyan's attention turned to her, "Does Neo know about your father's death?" A questioning look came upon him. "Well, it's just that I remember the first time we met her, the two of you talked as if your father was alive. But on that night on the rooftop, you said he was killed. So, I was just wondering, does she know?"
A whole silent minute passed. Then, Black began to mentally bang his head on a wall. "I slipped up again!" He completely forgot about that conversation. For Omi's sake he's losing track of all these lies he's been saying. Mentally pinching the bridge of his nose Black felt Ruby's eyes still on him. Damn, he had come up with something quick. Thinking fast and carefully Black thought of an explanation. "She does, we just didn't like people knowing because then they would pity us and that annoyed us."
"Then why would you two want to go separate ways, wouldn't it be better if you both were to stick together?" Ruby asked.
"Maybe, but we would attract less attention. Plus, we would most likely be at each other's throats if we did travel together." Black added., hoping that would suffice of an explanation.
Ruby sweatdropped at the last part. "Well, they do tend to fight a lot." Her expression went back to normal when she asked something else. "Didn't you feel lonely though?"
"Lonely?" Black questioned.
"Yea. With your father gone and your sister going somewhere else. Didn't you feel lonely at all?" Black blinked with some surprise. It was supposed to be a simple question, yet it hit him more than it should have. For some reason, his mind wandered to his time on earth and the other universe. But why? He wasn't alone during those times, he had his counterpart with him, Zamasu. He wasn't alone at all, right?
Seeing the conflicted look in his eyes, Ruby immediately dismissed the questioned. "S-Sorry, you don't have to answer that."
Black glanced at her then moved his eyes to the ground. "You dumbhead! Why'd you have to ask him something like that. You should've known that would be a personal question." Ruby scold herself as another moment of silence befell the two.
"Your fighting stance." Black finally said, changing the subject. "It's like mine." Eyes moving to her.
"Oh, yea." Ruby started, glad that the silence between them was over. "I don't really have my own and I don't really know any good ones. So, I decided to copy yours, it looked simple enough." She rubbed the back of her head as she explained.
"It is. But your posture is kinda wrong." Black got as did Ruby. "Look at me." Ruby watched closely as Black slipped into his stance. "Lower yourself a bit, keep your legs slightly bent, one arm at your side, and the other bent in front of you." Ruby awed at his stance it looked pretty flawless. "Now you try." Ruby did as she was told and tried to mimic his stance.
Black looked at Ruby's stance. It looked better than before but… "Don't lower yourself too much, and don't have your legs too far apart from each other." Using his hands, he raised her up a bit and maneuvered her legs in the correct position. The whole time, Ruby's face was extremely red. Feelings hands on her hips and thighs made her feel really embarrassed. "Your arm is too close to your face." Grabbing her arm he attempted to move it but felt some resistance. Noticing that she was slightly shaking Black raised a brow. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Huh? Oh, y-yea I'm fine." What's wrong with her. Black is trying to help her and she's getting all embarrassed about him touching her. She needed to get her act together. She relaxed herself a bit, letting Black guide her arm away from her face.
Black took a step back as he gazed at his handy work. Ruby's stance was now completely flawless. No more openings. "You'll need to memorize how to get into this stance on your own. I won't always be around to help you fix it."
"G-Got it." A groaning sound came from the side. Looking over, Jaune was beginning to wake up and just as he was the light of the sun was beginning to make its appearance. "We should start heading back." Black said.
A rumbling sound came from Ruby's stomach causing her face to redden again. "Guess I'm kinda hungry." She said with an awkward laugh. "How about some breakfast?" She suggested.
"Sure."
Meanwhile at Beacon two students were already awake. "UGH!" Yang skidded back, then falling to one knee. She wiped the dripping blood from her lip and smirked. "Is that the best you can-." Yang immediately raised her arm to block a kick, then raised her hand to catch a punch. She went for a counter and threw her own fist, to which her opponent ducked under it. As her opponent was down, he swiped her off her feet and kicked her in the gut.
As her body was sent back, she spun sideways and landed on her feet. Firing her gauntlets down at her side, Yang went shooting towards her opponent who was Gohan. As she neared him, the hybrid readied to block an attack but was surprised when Yang fired her gauntlet down flipping over him. He went for a fast kick behind him but was surprised when he hit nothing. Yang had fired her gauntlet again, maneuvering her body to side left. As soon as her feet touched the floor she skipped over and threw a fist. Gohan barely having any time to dodge could only raise his hand catch her fist. He pulled her to the side and used his other hand to slam her to the ground. Unfortunately for him, Yang wasn't about to give just yet as she also pulled him to the ground, they both rolled across the floor with both trying to gain the upper hand. Finally, Gohan managed to get on top, holding on Yang's wrist of one arm she had tried to hit him with and the other pinned above her head.
The winner of this spar went to Gohan.
Yang grinned, "If you wanted to get down on me you should at least take me out on a date first."
Gohan blinked before realizing the position they were in. "Ah! He quickly jumped off her. "S-Sorry! I swear I wasn't trying to do anything weird."
Yang giggled at his reaction, "Relax Gohan, I'm only teasing you." She said, now sitting up.
"Oh…Right." He said, rubbing the back of his head, clearly embarrassed. He's never going to get used to her teasing.
Someone clapping caught their attention. From the spectator's seats, Neo was seen sitting. "Oh hey Neo. When'd you get here." Yang asked clearly dismissing the fact that someone was watching them fight without them noticing.
Neo raised her hand and showed her five fingers, signifying that she got here five minutes ago. She then raised then crossed her arm with a smug smile from this action Yang somehow knew what she was getting at. "Oh, so what if something did happen? Would you have stayed and continue to watch?" Yang said, hand on hip.
Neo approached the stage and shrugged then smiled smugly again. Emphasising that she might've. Meanwhile, Gohan turned slightly red as he had a feeling, they were talking about the thing that happened between him and Yang.
Neo pulled out her scroll and showed a picture of Black. "Have you seen my brother?" Yang assumed was what she was asking. "Mmm, Nah, I haven't seen him. Gohan, have you seen Black?"
"No, he was gone when I woke up." He informed.
Neo silently sighed and gripped her chin in thought. He's most likely with his little girlfriend, Red. Remembering a couple of times she's seen them together. "Actually now that I think about it, Black has been disappearing a lot in the morning lately."
Looks like she's gonna have to be the older sister and cover her little brother. After typing on her scroll, she handed it to Yang. "Yea, Black and I have been going out in the morning. Last time we saw each other was five years ago, so you can guess we've been doing a lot of catching up. We also have a little one on one matches too."
"Oh, that's nice to hear. I've been wondering where he's been wandering off too." Gohan said after reading the scroll.
"Who wins?" Yang asked, referring to the matches Neo and Black have.
Neo gave her a look that read, "Who do you think."
"Have you checked the library or the courtyard. Black's usually at either of those places." Gohan budged in, handing Neo's scroll back. In big letters, she typed, "No I haven't. Thanks for telling me. I'll go check if he's there." With that Neo proceeded to the door.
Yang stared at Neo's leaving form. If she's truly Black's older sister, then that means she must be a hella a lot stronger and faster than him. "Hey Neo," Yang called out. "Wanna have a one on one between us older siblings?"
Neo's face held no expression for a moment, then her lips curled into a smirk. A little note fell on top of Yang's head surprising both teens in the arena. Gohan didn't even see nor sensed her move to leave that note. Grabbing the note, it read. "Maybe next time blonde." When Yang looked back up, Neo was already gone. "Heh, I'll hold you on to that." Yang grinned.
Neo walked away from the combat arena and tried messaging him again, in hopes that he might finally answer. Scrolling up to see all the messages she'd sent him. What's the point of him having a scroll if the guy never uses it. Adam has been meaning to speak with him for a while and Neo hasn't had the time to go look for him due to several loose ends that needed to be taken care of within the White Fang.
Such an annoying organization. She sometimes wished things would go back to normal. Before the White Fang, before that bitch Cinder. Damn her. Maybe after this whole thing is done, she'll kill her and her two annoying underlings. Then she and Roman can finally go back to being just the two of them against the world. Maybe…Black could join them. Don't get her wrong, he does get on her nerves but he's more reliable than anyone else, plus its fun to mess around with him. Her little brother's reactions are the best.
Realizing what she just thought Neo shook her head and rubbed her temples. What is she thinking, this whole family thing was something Roman made up and it was starting to get to her. Black would never stay with them. He's probably going to go off an-. Her thoughts were interrupted by the feeling of her scroll vibrating. Thinking it was Black she looked down at her scroll only to be disappointed that it wasn't, instead it was from Cinder. Informing that there has been a slight drawback to their plan for the party night.
Curious to what this drawback was, Neo headed back to their dorm.
Upon entering the dorm, she was met with Emerald and Mercury already present within the room. Of course, the pets wouldn't be so far from their master.
"There you are Neo. I assume you read my message." Cinder asked, her answer was a simple nod of the mute's head. Cinder looked out the window. "There has been a minor obstacle that has been revealed. It would seem that the information given to us about the firewalls within the CCT system proved to be inaccurate. In other words, our little virus would be ineffective. So, a new virus needs to be made now, and my…associate can make the virus needed for this plan to be successful. There is only one problem." Cinder paused for a moment and turned towards Neo. "We need a copy of that firewall and the only way of getting it, is within the CCT's mainframe."
"Sounds easy enough," Mercury commented, being laid back as always.
"In normal circumstance, it would be, but with Ironwood now here, security has been doubled. Getting there would most difficult. That's unless your Neo." Cinder said with a smirk. "It wouldn't be your first time infiltrating a highly secured building like this now would it?"
Neo placed her hands on her hips and flashed a cocky smirk.
"Emerald you'll need to acquire a scroll that will grant Neo access to the lower levels, it'll most likely be in the hands of the head of security. After that, I'll need you to accompany Neo and use your semblance to make her invisible to everyone." Cinder explained.
"Use my semblance on that many people?" Emerald spoke.
"Is that a problem?" Cinder questioned.
"No Ma'am." Emerald quickly said. "I'm just not looking forward to the headache I'll get later." The mint girl rubbed her head.
"You'll do fine." Cinder reassured.
"What about me? What's my job?" Mercury asked.
"You'll be the distraction; in case things go south." Cinder answered.
"Sounds fun."
"Any questions?" Cinder asked when she received nothing she smiled. "Good. We'll carry the plan out tomorrow in the afternoon, right before classes are done. When the tower is the busiest." Emerald nodded, Mercury gave her a thumbs up and Neo well, Neo was glad that this talk was finally over. She didn't like the woman giving her orders, but today she'll let it slide since she gave her a fun task to do. Infiltrate CCT tower. It'll be like the old days when she would infiltrate Atlesian bases, only this time she won't be leaving any bodies…maybe.
Back with Black, Jaune, and Ruby, the trio was walking down the street after a nice breakfast. Moans of pain came from Jaune as he held his side and slightly limped. "Isn't Aura supposed to heal wounds?" He questioned.
"Yes, but it also depends on the severity of the injury." Black explained, "You took a Ki attack head-on with no Aura, it'll take some time before you're fully healed."
"Heh, sorry Jaune." Ruby apologized rubbing her arm down.
"It's fine, I kinda had it coming. Still, I wished my Aura would just heal me already. It hurts walking around like this." Jaune said, groaning when he felt a slight sting on his side.
"No pain, no gain. As they say." Black commented, which caused Jaune to groan even more.
"I-I'm pretty sure you'll feel better once you get some rest." Ruby reassured, patting him on the back, causing Jaune to wince. "Oh, sorry, sorry." Ruby backed away.
"I'm fine like you said. I probably just need some rest." He said. Suddenly his scroll rang, reaching into his pocket he pulled it out. It was a message from professor Ozpin inform his team to gather in his office. "Damn, guess rest will have to wait."
"Who was it?" Black questioned.
"It was from Professor Ozpin. He wants my team and me to meet him in his office." Jaune answered.
"Ooooo, sounds like you're finally going to go on your first mission." Ruby stated.
"You think so? Aren't mission supposed to given to second and third years?" Jaune said, a bit skeptical of being sent on a mission. "Well if it is, I hope it'll be an easy one." He smiled. "Whelp, I shouldn't keep the Professor waiting. I'll catch you guys later." Jaune waved before running back to Beacon.
Now Ruby and Black were all alone again. "So…there's a pretty good hotdog stand in Vale central. Wanna go grab a bite?" Ruby asked.
Black raised a brow, "You're still hungry?" Ruby let out an awkward laugh. "Very well, but first I'm going to give Eby's book back to her."
"Oh, why don't we invite her to come along with us!" Ruby suggested.
"Sure, but we're not going to the arcade, you and Eby both drained me of my money last time." Ruby let out an awkward laugh, "Yea sorry about that. But hey, we had a lot of fun, right? Now come on, Eby's waiting for us!" Ruby grabbed him by the hand and pulled into the direction of the orphanage.
After a good run, they arrived at the orphanage. They saw several children playing in front of the building. Ms. Cassidy was by the door watching them. When her eyes caught sight of the two teens she waved. "Hello Mr. Black, Ms. Ruby."
"Hi, Ms. Cassidy. How's Eby doing?" The crimsonette asked.
Ms. Cassidy smiled. "Oh, she's doing well. Did you want to see her?"
"Yes, I have something I would like to return to her." Black said.
"Oh, how nice of you. She's up on the roof. The girl loves to draw from there." Ms. Cassidy said. Black nodded his head and up the building, "The stairs ar-." Her words were cut off when Black suddenly jumped all the way up to the roof. Ms. Cassidy was deeply surprised while the children playing were all in awe at how high he jumped. An awkward laugh came from Ruby. "We also wanted to ask if Eby could come and grab something to eat with us."
Ms. Cassidy blinked her surprise away and smiled. "Why of course she can go. Just remember to bring her back before dark."
"Will do Ms. Cassidy." Ruby promised to the surprised the older woman, before jumping as well.
Ruby the edge of the building and pulled herself up. Up ahead, Black was handing Eby her notebook back, the girl thanking him in returning it to her. When her eyes spotted Ruby a happy smile formed on her lips. "Ms. Ruby!" The little girl ran up to the huntress, stopping in front.
"Hey there Eby. How's my favorite little faunas girl." Ruby cooed, playfully squishing Eby's cheeks.
"I'm doing fine." Eby giggled.
Ruby attention went back to Eby. "So, Black and I were going to go get some hotdogs over in Vale central, we wanted to come." The faunas girl nodded her head. "I would love to." The girl said.
"Great, let's go," Ruby and Black proceeded to walk to the edge of the building ready to jump down but stopped when she noticed Eby not following them. Instead, Eby was fidgeting with her fingers and seemed a little nervous about something. "Eby, something wrong?" Ruby questioned.
"Um, well I just wanted to ask…can I…piggy ride one of you?" She shyly asked. Black and Ruby between themselves wondering if they both heard the same thing. "It's just that I saw a family do that and it looked kinda fun." Eby's ears folded back when Black approached. She was surprised he turned his back to her and squatted down. Ruby gave her a smile and nodded her head.
Hesitantly she approached the man and wrapped her arms around his neck. From under Black lifted her up with his arms. "Are you okay?" Receiving an okay nod from the faunas girl Black looked forward towards Ruby. "Shall we get going?"
"Yea, but how about we go on a different route." Ruby suggested.
"Different route?" Eby questioned. Ruby's head turns towards another building, with that one look Black understood what she was getting at. During Eby's confusion, Black and Ruby ran to the edge of the building and jumped. A surprised look fell upon her face at how high they went. The duo landed on top of another building and ran up to the edge of the building and jumped up again and again. Ruby took a glance to see Eby's face, what she saw brought a smile to the crimsonette. Eby felt like her body was flying. "Haha!" Her laughter could clearly be heard by the two teens.
"You having fun Eby?" Ruby asked.
"Yea!" She said with such joy.
A smirk formed on Black's lips after hearing the tone of her voice. When he landed on top of another building, he used more strength in his legs and jumped even higher this. Ruby looked up with surprise but when she could how much fun Eby was having Ruby chased after them.
Some of the citizens looked up in awe at how high Black and Ruby were jumping.
Black glanced at Ruby whom in return gave him a smile which caused the false Saiyan lightly flush red and advert his eyes away from her. Unfortunately, that moment of distraction caused him to miss his footing on his next landing and slip off the edge. "Whoa ahh!" Eby screamed.
"Eby!" Ruby stopped in her tracks and ran to the edge. Leaning over, relief washed over her when she saw that Black caught himself between the walls of the two buildings and with his tail wrapped around Eby's ankle. Surprisingly the faunas girl wasn't frightened instead she was giggling like she found the whole falling off a building funny.
Black was glad that he caught Eby, more surprisingly with his tail caught her. He still has his struggles in control this Saiyan tail of his but right now it seemed that he had the hang of it. Ruby jumped down and landed underneath Black and Eby. With some concentration, he had his tail release Eby. The scythe wielder caught her and placed her back on her feet. "You okay?" Ruby questioned.
"Yea," Black dropped down next to Ruby. "What happened?" Ruby questioned him.
"I lost my footing."
"Really, you never lose your footing."
"There's a first for everything. Black quickly answered walking away trying to forget of what just happened. "Now come on we're here already."
Eby looked at Ruby for answers but all the crimsonette offered was a shrug. They followed Black out the alley and walked down the street to the hotdog stand. Eby stayed close to the two teens as she was receiving looks from a couple of humans. Ruby didn't seem to notice but Black did and would glare at whoever looked badly at her.
There was a short line at the Hotdog stand when they arrived but after a good wait, they made it to the front and ordered their food. "This is a…hotdog?" Black eyed the food in his hand. It consisted of a bun with a sausage. Was something so simple actually good?
Glancing at Ruby and Eby he saw the pleased looks on their faces. His eyes turned back to the hotdog in his hand. The pizza from before wasn't that bad. With some hesitation, he took a small bite. He hummed in delight at the taste, it was good. "Hey, Black did you put any sauces on yours?" Ruby asked.
"Sauces?"
"Yea ya know, Ketchup, Mayo, and Mustard." Seeing the sauces she was talking about he poured one of each onto his hotdog and tried it. Black's eyes widen. "It's even better than before." He couldn't help but just shove the rest in his mouth. Giggling caused him to stop what he was doing. "I'll take it you like it huh." Ruby said with a smirk.
"Yea, it was good." Black said, whipping his mouth with a napkin. His stomach growled which caused his face flush. He growled from embarrassment. Damn this body and its growing needs. Black's stomach growled again. "I thought you might still be hungry so here." Ruby said, handing him another hotdog.
"Thanks…" He says before eating it. The trio ate their fill of hotdogs with Black eating more to satisfy his increasing Saiyan appetite. Like any other day, they spent their morning with Eby drawing some flowers, animals, and Ruby who posed for her. She managed to convince Black to pose for Eby today. Later they visited an aquarium, Eby was mesmerized by all the aquatic animals in the big tanks especially the sharks, Ruby too. Strangely enough, all the sharks would swim away whenever Black got close. Ruby joked around saying that it was probably because how scary he looked.
She wasn't entirely wrong though. The sharks were afraid of him but not by his appearances but by the frightening aura that came from him was.
Finally like all other days they end up back in the arcade which is unfortunate for Black. He sighed at seeing all the Lien in his wallet now gone.
"You're not going to beat me this time!" Eby said.
"We'll see about that!" Ruby retorted. They were currently playing on a dance machine. Black could that they were having a lot of fun. Maybe it was worth it using up all his Lien again.
The dance machine beep alerting that the match has ended. "Yes, still unbeatable!" Ruby shouted, pumping her fist in the air.
Eby slumped down in defeat. "Aw man," Ruby ruffled her head and smiled brightly, "Better luck next time." Eby looked up and returned the smile. They got off the machine and headed back to Black and drank some juice. "Even though I said no to the arcade, we still ended up coming here." Black mumbled.
Ruby giggled. "Sorry, I promise I'll pay you back."
Black sighed and got up from his seat, "It's fine." He turned his head towards Eby, "Ready to go?"
"Yea," The trio finished up their drinks and headed out the arcade. As they were walking down the sidewalk Eby caught sight of a ride-on car left to a dumpster. The faunas girl walked up to the toy car and inspected. "What'd you find?" Ruby looked over Eby's shoulder to see. "Oh, it's one of those ride-on cars they sell for kids."
Black stood next to Ruby, "Ride on car?"
"Yea, I wonder why it been thrown away it looks fine." Ruby scratched her head.
Eby took a seat in the car and turned it on. Pressing the pedal, the car moved. "It moved!" Eby exclaimed.
"Hey, that's great. You wanna drive it back home? I'm sure the other kids would like to play with it too." Ruby said. Eby smiled and nodded her head and then proceeded to drive it up the sidewalk. The two teens walked behind the moving car as Eby happily drove it. Suddenly the car stopped at the edge of the road. "What happened?" Ruby asked.
"I don't know, it just stopped for some reason." Eby said, turning the car on and off while pressing the pedal. "Maybe the battery's dead?" Ruby walked over to the front and opened the hood of the toy car and unplugged the battery.
She opened the battery box and examined it. "Mmm…yea the battery is pretty drained. If I had some lighting dust I could juice it up again." Just then Black pulled out some lighting dust rounds from his pocket. Ruby looked at him weirdly. "Why do you have ammo in your pocket?"
"Why do you always carry a bag of cookies with you." Black countered.
"Touché," Ruby said. As the teens were working on the battery, Eby was patiently waiting in her seat. Just then someone accidentally bumped the car causing it to slowly roll. "Eh? Mr. Black, Ms. Ruby I'm rolling down the road." Eby said, sadly her voice was a bit too quiet as it could not reach Black and Ruby's ears. "Mr. Black, Ms. Ruby. I need HELP!" Eby's voice finally reached the teens. Their turned toward the sound of her voice only to see her down extremely fast onto incoming traffic.
A moment of silence befell them as they stared at Eby's fading form, they looked between each other then back to Eby, then to each other then finally realization hit them like a meteor. "EBY!" They both screamed before chasing after her.
Eby was screaming for her life as she turned the wheel to dodge the incoming traffic as well as pedestrians. Tears gathering at the corner of her eyes.
Not far behind her, two blurs raced down the street. Ruby and Black running as fast as they could while at the same time avoiding from crashing into anyone or anything "How could you not see her rolling down!" Ruby yelled.
"I could ask you the same thing!" Black shouted back. Eby screams caused them to run even faster. "Eby we're coming!" Ruby yelled. She couldn't use her semblance otherwise she might blow everyone in the street away. Their eyes widen when they saw Eby heading into an intersection.
As if like some god was watching over her, Eby managed to evade every vehicle crossing the road. Ruby and Black entered the intersection and jumped, slid, and flipped past all they could. Right before exiting the intersection they were met with a bus crossing in front of them. Black jumped and flipped over it while Ruby charged towards it and slid underneath it.
They quickly regained their footing and continued the chase. Eby neared the end of the road. The faunas girl desperately looked for a way to save herself. Her eyes caught sight of a ramp to up ahead that led would send her flying into an alley. She'll most likely end up crashing into some garbage, but it beats crashing into a building.
Using the steering wheel Eby steered the car to the ramp and ramped off it. Her eyes widen when she saw someone had walked in front of her, "WATCH OUT!" She tried warning the person, but it was too late and crashed into the person and into the pile of trash. A loud crash was heard from the alleyway causing some passersby to stop and see what just happened.
"Eby!" Ruby and Black had finally caught up and desperately searched for the little faunas girl. "Eby! Eby where are you! Howl if you can hear me!" Ruby shouted.
Eby pushed out from some trash, swirls in her eyes. Ruby rushed over to her and held her in arms. While Black kneeled next to her in worry. "Eby! Oh my oum, are you okay!" Eby pulled away and shook her dizziness away. "That…was kinda fun." She admitted with a smile. The two teens sighed in relief.
"Ruby?" A familiar voice said.
Turning around they found that the voice belonged to her sister, "Yang, what're you doing here?" Eby quickly hid behind Ruby before the new individuals could see her.
"The gang and I were looking at some dresses to get for the upcoming dance." The brawler said. Allison walked into view with a grin along with her was Gohan and Sun. "Yea, we made sure to buy something very sexy for you." She winked causing Ruby's face to flush red.
Yang snickered and lightly elbowed her faunas friend. "Don't tease her. Don't worry Ruby I got you a very cute one." The blonde reassured.
Black's head turned to the two males. "You both went along?"
"More like dragged into it. Kinda reminds me the heavy shopping I would have to do with mom." Gohan quietly said the last part to himself.
"Yea, it was either this or go with Neptune to get some tuxes." Sun said. "I like the guy, but he gets annoying when it comes to class and fashion."
The brawler then remembered someone. "Oh, by the way, have you seen Weiss? She was walking ahead of us." When Black heard this, he walked up to the pile of trash and lifted up a box which revealed the head of a very anger Weiss. Black stared at her for a second before slowly placing back down. "DON'T JUST COVER MY HEAD AGAIN!" Weiss yelled, bursting out of the trash.
"There she is," Allison announced.
"Oh, hey Weiss," Ruby waved. "Why are you covered in trash?"
"Why am I covered in trash? Did you not see someone crash into me!" Weiss's yelling caused Eby who was hiding underneath Ruby cloak to shake in fear. Yang's eyes saw the shaking in Ruby cloak. "Hey Rubes, there's someone hiding under your cloak?" Yang pointed.
"Hm? Oh, this is Eby." Ruby lifted her cloak a bit. She noticed that Eby looked scared. "Hey it's okay they're nice people, trust me." Eby looked up Ruby who just smiled at her then turned her head towards Black who gave her a reassuring nod.
Mustering up some courage Eby leaned out from behind Ruby. "H-Hello…"
Yang and Allison's eyes widen when they saw her ears and eyes. "She's a faunas." Yang squatted down. "Hey, I'm Yang and this here is Allison." Pointing back with her thumb.
"Yo," Allison waved.
"I'm Gohan." The Saiyan half-breed introduced.
"And I'm Sun, like the sun-sun." Pointing up to the sky.
Seeing the kind smile of Yang and Gohan, Eby felt a bit relaxed, even more, when she saw that Allison and Sun was a faunas like her.
"So, this is where you've been going off to lately huh?" Yang said.
"Yea, sorry for not telling you. It's just Eby is pretty shy and scared of meeting new people so we didn't want to scare her by bringing you along." Ruby explained.
"Na, it's cool," Allison said.
"Completely understandable," Gohan added.
Eby felt her fear come back when she saw the Schnee's gaze on her and hid behind Ruby again. Weiss noticed this and wasn't that all surprised. It didn't help she was also screaming a second ago too. "I…I'm sorry for crashing into y-you…" Eby managed to say. Weiss sighed, "I accept your apology." She let a smile form on her lips. Eby saw this and hesitantly walked out from her hiding again.
"You're really cute Faunas, did you know that." Weiss's words caused Eby's face to lightly flush red. "T-Thank you." She said while fidgeting with her fingers.
"Who knew the ice queen had a warm heart," Sun jokingly said.
"Hey," This caused everyone to laugh minus Black and Eby who was still a bit nervous around new faces.
A question popped in Weiss's head. "Wait, what were you doing that caused her to crash into me?"
Black's eyes widen and diverted his gaze from the three. Ruby rubbed the back of her head and awkwardly laughed. "Well, you see umm…"
Weiss looked between the two and then to Eby, then to the now broken ride-in car, then to the street behind them. Her expression turned into one of shock and anger when she put the pieces together. Hopping she was wrong, she asked. "Was she going down the street in that wasn't she."
The two teens tensed up. That alone was enough to answer the Schnee's question. "Are you kidding me! How can you both be so irresponsible! She could've gotten hurt!" She scold.
"Wow, that's almost just as bad as what I did to Ruby." Yang thought.
"But she's fine, see." Ruby said, Black lifted Eby up into full view. The little faunas girl smiled reassuring the Schnee that she was indeed okay.
Weiss looked between the three and gave a heavy sigh. "Oum help us if you both ever become parents." She said to herself.
"Huh?"
"Nothing," Weiss waved off. "Just be more careful next time."
"We will." Black said, placing Eby back down.
"So, where you guys headed now?" Allison asked.
"We were on our to drop Eby back home." Black answered.
"Mind if we tag along?" Yang asks.
"Sure, the more the merrier," Ruby said, and with that, the teens headed out the alley towards the orphanage. Ruby talked about the things they've been doing with Eby. She talked about the amazing drawing the little faunas girl can do to which Eby ended up showing. The drawings, of course, blew their minds. Sun tried getting Eby to draw a picture of him, even though she felt a little at ease that he was a faunas she still felt a little nervous of the monkey boy. Black saw this and used to his tail to pull Eby close to him while glaring at the male faunas. Sun gave a nervous laugh before raising his hand in a calming manner and slowly back away.
Gohan chuckled at this. Who knew that Black could be so…protective. Kinda reminds him of some of the dinosaur parents from back home.
"So, uh guys, I been meaning to ask. Have any of you seen Blake around?" Sun asked, gaining the attention of the girls.
"Blake?" They all looked up in thought. "No, we haven't seen her." Yang answered.
"Wait a minute. Is that why you tagged along with us? Were you hoping to see Blake?" Allison burst with laughter. "Oh man, you're definitely head over heels for her." She said, continuing with her laughter.
"Hey come on."
"Well, now that I think about it. She has been disappearing a lot lately. Especially at night." Ruby admitted.
"Maybe she's just getting a snack?" Gohan suggested.
"I doubt that. Blake isn't like Ruby." Weiss said.
"Hey,"
"Well, why don't we ask her when we see her? She's bound to come back to the dorm." Yang says, before patting Sun on the shoulder. "Don't worry Sun we got you're back."
"Speaking of disappearances, Pyrrha suddenly had to go with Ren and Nora in the middle of our study." Gohan said. Remembering that they got up and said they had to go all of a sudden.
"Oh, that was professor Ozpin calling them to his office. Jaune told us. I think they're going on their first mission." Ruby said.
"Hey that's great, it's about time JNRP had their turn to shine." Yang says.
"Mrs. Ruby did you go on any missions too?" Eby questioned.
Ruby turned to the little faunas girl. "Hm? Our teams went on a joint mission together a couple of months ago." Pointing to herself and Black.
"What was it like?" Eby asked, wanting to know what a mission of a Huntress and Huntsmen were like. Unfortunately, that question brought some unpleasant memories "What was it like?" Ruby repeated the question aloud. The teens all looked at one another as they were unsure how to answer that.
Yang couldn't even come with any positive word to describe the missions. Images of what happened to the folks of that village caused her to scowl at the ground. Ruby and Weiss were also quiet as they thought back to that powerful Grimm looking Knight they fought in the cave and all the Grimm that came from it later. Allison was able to recall some of the things that happened that day from Alli's memories, even she wasn't sure what to say. Gohan was still bothered by the fact he failed to those people from that horrible fate.
Seeing their reaction left both Sun and Eby confused. "Um, you don't have to answer that if you don't wa-."
"-It was boring." Black finally said. "Our assignment was to guard a large convoy of supplies from Vale to one of the neighboring villages." The teens all turned their heads to him. Black gave them all a look which they quickly picked up. "Yea it was pretty boring. Don't get me wrong it was good that we were helping transport those supplies but nothing happened during the trip and it being our first mission well, it was kind of a letdown." Ruby added to the lie.
"But if nothing happened isn't that a good thing? It means you came home safe right?" Eby's words surprised the crimsonette as well as the other teens. Ruby let a smile form and ruffled her hair. "You're right, the important is that we came home safe." Eby returned the smile.
"Speak of safe, I hope team JNPR are doing okay." Gohan said.
"They probably got the same boring mission as we did. I'm sure they're fine." Allison reassured him.
"GAH!" Jaune hit his back on the ground before flipping himself to his feet and stabbing his sword to the ground in order to stop himself from skidding back. Pyrrha rolled across the till she stopped next to him. She slowly pushed herself up, her body held cuts and bruises as did Jaunes with some blood leaking down his temple. Both were heavily breathing.
"This…this isn't good." Jaune said between breathes. His eyes looked to the side to see Ren was who still down on the ground. A heavy stomp brought his attention back to the source of their state of being.
In front of them was someone who wore black Grimm like armor, in one hand it held it a large greatsword, and in the other, it was holding an unconscious Nora by her neck. In front of them was none other than the Grimm Knight.
And cut, sorry that took so long. Was really planning on finishing this up last week but with the new semester, I kinda got sidetracked, sorry. Anyways, I hope you guys like the Chapter gonna speed things up a bit but not too much to make it feel rushed.
