They were exactly the type of people Daniel had avoided in school.
The tough guy that was too macho for his own good. The kind that ruthlessly picked on the 'geeks'. The rebel that got all the girls.
The tall, leggy blonde who, with one smile, could convince anyone to do anything. The type that was popular and a teacher's pet. Beautiful and perfect.
The massive, silent type that could crush you with his pinkie finger. The sort you didn't mess with because you couldn't be sure where his loyalties lay. Different and intimidating.
On the surface, perhaps that's what they appeared to be. But there was so much more to them than that.
Jack, though rough and tough, was fiercely devoted to his friends. He'd discovered scientists weren't so bad, while Daniel had found a friend for life. And if he wasn't mistaken, he was the one getting all the girls now.
Sam was beautiful and practically perfect, but was in no way self-centered or egotistic. She had a heart of gold and never gave anyone grounds to say one slanderous thing about her. He and Sam connected on so many levels that Daniel had officially adopted her as his long lost sister.
Teal'c was a bit scary…ok, really scary, if you didn't know him. But once he was your friend, you could never doubt his loyalty. Daniel had probably never met someone so noble. Even though he was responsible for Sha're's fate, Daniel could hold no grudge against Teal'c.
