(A/N: Okay, so we're at Chapter 2 of this fic! I still can't believe I'm writing another chapter story for Mario! Let's start this chapter!)
The following morning, after discussing everything with Mario, Luigi, Daisy, and Toadsworth, Peach called up Beanbean Castle and told Queen Bean that she, the Mario Bros., her cousin, Daisy, and Toadsworth were all going to come for a visit. (A/N: When Peach told Toadsworth that she had already called Queen Bean, she lied. But you probably already knew that.)
"Really?! That's great! Our kingdom has been at peace ever since Cackletta's defeat! If you come here, I'm sure you'll have a more pleasant time, since Cackletta, or Bowletta, won't be able to ruin things for you like last time." Queen Bean said upon hearing the news.
"I'll let you know when we're on our way, but that won't be for a few days." Peach said.
"Okay." said Queen Bean.
And of course, Queen Bean let everyone in the castle know about Peach's plans to visit right away. Prince Peasley was happy with the news, but when Lady Lima got the news, the first thing she asked was, "Is Toadsworth coming with them?"
"I do believe Princess Peach said he was coming with her group." Queen Bean said.
"Great! I really want to see him again! I can't wait." said Lady Lima.
A few days later, Peach called Queen Bean to let her know that she, Mario, Luigi, Daisy, and Toadsworth were on her airplane, ready for take-off.
"We'll meet you at the airport!" Queen Bean promised.
During the flight, Toadsworth was daydreaming about seeing Lady Lima again, but Peach was busy reading The Complete Idiot's Guide to The Beanbean Kingdom.
"Any particular reason why you're reading that book, Peach?" Daisy asked, curious.
"To see what I missed out on during my initial visit to the Beanbean Kingdom. And from what I've read so far, I missed out on a lot of interesting things." Peach replied.
"She did." Mario said. In fact, he and Luigi told Daisy what happened last time, but they kept it quiet so they wouldn't disturb Peach.
Several hours later, Peach's plane landed at Beanbean Airport, and sure enough, Queen Bean, Prince Peasley, and Lady Lima were there to greet them.
"I wanted to come back and replace my bad memories of this place with happier ones." Peach explained to them as she got off the plane.
"That will be easy enough. I'm sure you've been told how things have been better here since Cackletta's defeat." Prince Peasley said.
"She already knows about that. I told her when she called and told me that she and her friends were coming here." Queen Bean said.
"Okay, then." said Prince Peasley.
After claiming their baggage, the group followed the Beanbean monarchy back to Beanbean Castle, and while Toadsworth and Lady Lima were glad to be picking up where they left off, Peach asked Queen Bean if anything really good was happening in the Beanbean Kingdom.
"Oh yes, apart from the fact that you and the Mario Bros. are here, the biggest thing to happen since Cackletta's defeat is that Prince Peasley has found himself a girlfriend." Queen Bean said.
"And it seems that things are getting pretty serious between the two of them." said Lady Lima.
"Really? You found someone to love, Prince Peasley?" asked Peach, looking over at the prince, who was blushing like mad when he heard Queen Bean and Lady Lima mention his girlfriend.
"You... might say that..." Prince Peasley replied. He was embarrassed, but not that bad, because they hadn't mentioned this in front of his lady friend.
"That's a yes!" Toadsworth grinned.
"In fact, she's a student at Woohoo Hooniversity, having enrolled after Cackletta's defeat. But the students are all out on holiday now, and I took her back to her home in Beanbean Castle Town a couple of days ago, so you should be able to meet her during your visit here." Prince Peasley said to the group.
So the group asked Prince Peasley to tell them about his love interest on the way back to Beanbean Castle. And he did. It turns out that the prince had been at the Hooniveristy the day it reopened, allowing new students to enroll. That was how Prince Peasley met her. She was a Beanish girl named Peanelope (A/N: I got her name from the Peas-in-a-Pod toy from "Toy Story 3". One of the peas was named 'Peanelope', and I thought it was a cute name. Also, Peanelope is my OC.), and she was looking for where she needed to go in order to enroll. Seeing that she was lost, the prince took her by the hand and politely led her to the line of new students who planned to enroll, and he stayed with her in the line, keeping her company as she waited for her turn to enroll at the Hooniversity. They got to talking as they waited, and by the time she had enrolled at the Hooniversity, they were like old friends. From then on, they got to be more than just friends, too, as Prince Peasley would visit her on the weekends, and even take her home when the students were on holiday.
When they got back to Beanbean Castle, Peach's group found out from the guards that they were going to meet Prince Peasley's girlfriend very soon.
"Are you saying Peanelope is here in the castle right now?" Prince Peasley asked.
"That is correct, Your Highness. She came here to see you, but you, Queen Bean, and Lady Lima had gone to the airport." one of the guards outside the castle said to the prince.
"But we allowed her in to wait for you, since she is your girl." said the other guard.
"How nice! Now our guests can meet her right away!" said Queen Bean.
They walked into the Great Hall, and that's where they found her, standing around, waiting patiently for her beau to return. For a Beanish girl, Peanelope was kind of pretty, with long blonde hair she wore in a high ponytail, a long-sleeved purple top, a black, knee-length skirt, and black ballet flats.
It made Peanelope happy when she saw that her boyfriend had returned to the castle, as she greeted him with a big hug, which he gladly returned. Then, when he informed her about the guests being with him, she was more than a little surprised when Prince Peasley introduced her to the guests in question, and them to her, and the guests were very famous people, but then again...
"Sometimes I forget that my boyfriend is a member of royalty." Peanelope said, feeling a little shy as she curtsied to the guests.
"I understand exactly how you feel, Peanelope. My girlfriend, Daisy, is a principessa, a princess, but I almost always forget that fact whenever I see her competitive streak, which comes from her tomboyish nature, get the better of her." Luigi told her.
"I'm glad to know I'm not alone." Peanelope smiled.
"It's okay, sweetheart. But remember, you're pretty famous yourself, in the eyes of those who live here in the castle." Prince Peasley said.
"I'm just you average student at Woohoo Hooniveristy, nobody special. You know that." Peanelope reminded him.
"You are special. Remember, it's thanks to you that the Beanstar is more safe than it was before." Peasley reminded her before they shared a kiss in front of everyone else, which made Peach and Daisy go, "Awww..."
"I knew they were gonna do that!" Peanelope exclaimed, suddenly breaking off the kiss. But Peasley smiled at her and pulled her back into the kiss. She didn't complain; she answered his kiss.
"You guys actually changed the Beanstar's security system?" Luigi asked, surprised.
"Yes. And we had to. It needed to be changed in the worst way." Queen Bean replied.
"Va bene. That's good, because I thought that having bad plumbing was a rather stupido way to keep that thing safe. What's it like now?" Mario asked, intrigued. (A/N: Don't we all agree with Mario on this one?)
"Yeah, can you tell us?" Luigi asked.
"We will. Let's go to the castle's sitting room, and we'll talk about it there." said Lady Lima.
"Capital idea!" Toadsworth said.
A few minutes later, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toadsworth, Queen Bean, Lady Lima, Prince Peasley, and Peanelope were all together in Beanbean Castle's sitting room, drinking cups of tea and talking about the Beanstar's security.
"It was all Peanelope's idea. When she found out about the castle's bad plumbing and why it was so bad, she had some words to say about it." Queen Bean said.
"Not bad words, I hope?" Peach said.
"I only said that there are other, more practical ways to keep the Beanstar safe. It didn't seem fair, nor was it right, that everyone in the castle all had to put up with bad plumbing just to keep the Beanstar safe from evil hands." Peanelope explained.
"She was the one who brought it up, so we asked her for some ideas, and she gave us one that was so good, we could just kick ourselves for not thinking of it sooner." said Lady Lima.
"What was your idea, Peanelope? It has to be awesome if the people in the castle felt like kicking themselves for not coming up with it in the first place." Daisy said.
"Well, first of all, the castle plumbing had to be replaced because it was really bad. After that was done, we were able to work on my idea. My idea was to have the castle handymen build a secret compartment behind the back wall of the cabinet under Queen Bean's bathroom sink. That's where the Beanstar is now, and that wall is blocked off by the Queen's bathroom stuff." Peanelope explained.
"Oh, I say! That's a simply superb idea you had! You're a bright girl, Peanelope!" Toadsworth said, getting a smile from the prince's sweetheart.
"And even if a bad guy does find out where the Beanstar is hidden, they'll have to say a password to gain access to the Beanstar's hiding place. And as you might have already guessed, Peanelope is the one who thought of the password. Didn't you, sweetheart?" said Prince Peasley, giving his girlfriend a loving smile.
"Yeah, I did." Peanelope replied, smiling back at her royal beau.
"So, what's the password?" Peach asked.
"Uh-oh, I was afraid of someone asking that question." Peanelope thought, blushing madly. She looked away shyly and mumbled, "You... really don't want to know that."
"Actually, I'd like to know." Luigi said.
"Trust her, you do not." said Prince Peasley, putting an arm around his red-faced girlfriend's shoulders.
"The password can't be all that bad." said Toadsworth.
"Oh, but it is." said Lady Lima.
"It is?" Toadsworth asked.
"Yes." said Lady Lima.
"Can you give us un suggerimento? You know, a hint?" Mario asked.
"Let's just say... you have to... verbally demoralize yourself... to find the hiding place." Peanelope said, still red from embarrassment.
"You mean, you have to say something bad about yourself just to find the Beanstar?" Daisy asked.
"I mean something really bad. As in... some of the 13 bad words that shouldn't be said are in the password." said Peanelope, now shaming Mario's hat. (A/N: Use your imaginations, readers!)
"It was pretty bad, but it's actually a good idea. If Cackletta knew what the password was, she'd never say it. Not when it means saying horrible things about herself." said Queen Bean.
"So the password makes getting the Beanstar not worth it to villains..." Peach said.
"That is clever!" said Daisy, getting a slight smile from Peanelope and making her furious blush go down a bit.
They continued to talk about affairs in the Mushroom and Beanbean Kingdoms, and Queen Bean also learned where Daisy was from.
"It probably wouldn't hurt to try and form an alliance with your kingdom as well." Queen Bean said to Daisy.
"I'm sure my parents would like it, since this kingdom and the Mushroom Kingdom get along so well. Plus, we have an alliance with the Mushroom Kingdom. But that happened when my mom's little sister got married to the King of the Mushroom Kingdom." Daisy said.
"That's right. Daisy's parents are my aunt and uncle. I'm sure they'd be willing to form an alliance with this kingdom as well." Peach said.
Although Queen Bean, Prince Peasley, and Lady Lima offered to let Peach and her group stay at Beanbean Castle during their visit, everyone but Toadsworth decided to stay at the Little Fungitown Embassy instead. And, as you might have guessed, Toadsworth was not at all happy with that idea.
"No, Princess! Please reconsider going to Little Fungitown! You'll have to go through that place filled with horrible monsters, and then you'll get captured by those... things again, and..." Toadsworth started, but Lady Lima gently interrupted him, saying, "Actually, Toadsworth, the monsters in Teehee Valley and everywhere else in the kingdom have disappeared since Cackletta was defeated. It's safe now."
"Really?" Toadsworth asked.
"Really, really." Lady Lima replied.
"Okay. Never mind. You can go." Toadsworth said.
"Don't you want to come with us, Toadsworth?" Peach asked as she, Mario, Luigi, and Daisy got ready to get up and start making their way to the Little Fungitown Embassy.
"No. I'm staying right here at Beanbean Castle, where at least I know I'm safe." Toadsworth said.
"Are you sure you'd rather stay here, than join us?" Peach asked, making sure.
"Positive. I'm going to stay right here." Toadsworth said.
Peach knew there was no point in trying to make him go when he refused to budge.
"Okay, if you want to stay at Beanbean Castle, you can. But we'll come here every night for dinner if that's okay." Peach said.
"That will be quite all right." Prince Peasley smiled.
"Have fun!" Peanelope called to the group as Lady Lima showed Toadsworth to a guest room he could stay in.
"If the monsters were still there, we could've warped to Little Fungitown by a pipe, just to be on the safe side." Mario said to Peach as they left the castle.
"I think we'll take the warp pipes when we go sight-seeing. But I think it'll be healthy for me to go through Teehee Valley again to get to Little Fungitown, since Lady Lima said that it's safer now." Peach said, taking Mario's hand.
"Taking the warp pipes to the different places sounds like a plan, and if Teehee Valley is safe now, I guess it couldn't hurt to go through it." Luigi said.
"I wouldn't mind walking to the different places that we're going to see, like we're doing now." Daisy said as they walked to Teehee Valley.
"If we did that, we would be tired out by the time we reached our destination." Mario said.
"Oh... Good point." Daisy replied.
Sure enough, they didn't see any Gritty Goombas hanging around Teehee Valley as they began their journey through it. Mario, Luigi, and Peach all let out inaudible sighs of relief upon realizing this.
"Good. It seems Lady Lima was right, for I was hoping I wouldn't see any of those... things around here." Peach said.
"What things? Peach mentioned them before we left, and I kept meaning to ask, but..." Daisy started.
"Gritty Goombas. They'd grab Peach, tie her up, and carry her off to their hide-out, where they'd do a stupid dance as they guarded her." Mario said.
"And we had to work fast to rescue her. Goodness knows what they were planning to do to her!" Luigi said.
"I shudder to think." Peach said.
"I know. I'd never forgive myself if they... did something to you before we showed up." Mario said, giving Peach a hug to help her feel better. Peach gratefully returned the hug.
"Did you kick their sorry butts?" Daisy asked.
"Of course we did! No one kidnaps my girl and gets away with it!" Mario said.
"Good for you!" Daisy said as a flattered Peach gave Mario a kiss on the cheek, which made him blush.
They got through Teehee Valley with no problems, and there was no tree-monster hanging around when they got to the Little Fungitown Lift.
The Toads that greeted them were even more surprised than they were the first time, because even though they'd heard that Peach and the Mario Bros. were coming again, they didn't expect to see that Princess Daisy had come along with the group this time!
And after they checked in at the Little Fungitown Embassy, they dropped off their suitcases in their rooms, then decided to go for a walk around the town and see the sights. They even went to the arcade, where the proprietor rewarded them with normal items instead of Invincishrooms whenever they got a super-nice score on the games they played.
That night, Peach and Daisy got in their beds in the room they were sharing at the Embassy, and Daisy asked Peach, "So, Peach, how did you enjoy your first day back in the Beanbean Kingdom?"
"It turned out to be quite a day, and I'm glad to be back here. Also, from what I've seen, things are going to be a lot better this time." Peach smiled, before asking her cousin, "How about you, Daisy? Are you liking what you've seen of the Beanbean Kingdom so far?"
"I'm liking it a lot, Peach. But I'll have to see more of this place before I can give you a completely honest opinion." Daisy said.
As for Mario and Luigi...
"Bro, do you think this visit to the Beanbean Kingdom will be a lot better than our initial one?" Luigi asked Mario before turning out the light in their room.
"Sì, because today has been a good, interesting day, and Cackletta and Fawful aren't here to cause mayhem. The rest of our days here should be a lot of fun for us." Mario said as he closed his eyes and let sleep claim him.
So now our friends are in the Beanbean Kingdom, and this visit is off to a pretty good start! What will happen next? You'll have to stay tuned if you wish to receive the answer to that question!
