"Thank you for saving me." Said by a strawberry blonde hair woman wearing a laboratory white coat. She's standing and not facing the person she's talking to.
"Sayonara." She coldly added and walk towards the door.
He wanted to follow her to ask her one question; Who are you? but unfortunately he can't do it. He's frozen standing and he don't know why he can't move his feet forward.
He tastes a salty drop water that's coming from his left eye and He knew from that moment that he is dreaming again.
Shinichi open his eyes and wipe off the tear on his cheek. He sat down on his bed and sigh.
"It was her again..." he whisper.
It's been a year since Shinichi's having a strange dream about that woman and the worst thing was he didn't know who's the woman saying goodbye to him. He doesn't have any idea who it might be.
One time he asked his bestfriend Heiji Hattori if he knew a woman with a strawberry blonde hair but Heiji answered him saying no. Heiji asked him why but Shinichi didn't open up about his strange dream.
Shinichi closed his eyes and shake his head. He might be the greatest Detective in Japan but why can't he solve his strange dream? Why can't he figure out who might be the woman who always appeared in his dream?
His phone suddenly rings and that made him back to his senses. He open his eyes and grab his phone, He saw the caller's id and answer it.
"Where are you Shinichi?" Asked by his girlfriend. In her tone he can tell she's upset.
"I just woke up."
"So you really forgot our date don't you? I'm here at the place we decided to go and you're always not on time!" Ran complains.
"Oh! Uhh... I'm so sorry. Wait me inside the restuarant and I'll be right there in 10 minutes." He said and without waiting her response he immediately ended the call and prepared himself.
30 minutes later He finally arrived in the Restaurant, he sees Ran with a frown on her face. Shinichi gives her an apologetic look and sits down across her.
"I didn't know there will be a traff-"
"I don't need to hear your excuses this time." Ran looks straight in his eyes. There's a tears forming in the corner of her eyes but she's trying her best not to let it out. If only her eyes can talk it will say that she's exhausted from all of it.
Shinichi knows to himself that he's not the boyfriend Ran deserves. He knows everybody wants Ran and he's too lucky that Ran choses him, he appreciates it. Though he felt guilty for making her wait on their dates and not to mention he always ruin their dates. Because everytime they're together a crime always shows up and it's hard for Shinichi not to take an action, he's a detective after all.
He didn't know how to make it up to her and they always argue about it.
"I'm sorry." Is all the words he can say.
"I can't do this anymore Shinichi." She said.
He didn't respond not because there's nothing to say, he already see this coming. Ran is exhausted from this kind of relationship and he don't want to beg for another chance. He didn't deserve another chance. Ran stand up and get her things, he watches her walking away and left the restaurant.
After getting dumped, Shinichi walks in the dark street on the way to his house. It's very quiet and peaceful at night and he likes it, it makes him calm somehow.
He stop walking and see himself standing outside Professor Agasa's resident.
'Why am I standing here?' He asked himself.
He stares for a while and he felt something unusual. He felt like he have a fond memories in that place with someone whom he's really close with but he just can't tell. He thinks maybe because Ran and Him used to play in Agasa's place when they're younger. He sighed and ready to go when he heard a foot steps walking behind him.
"Hey Shinichi." The old man said.
Shinichi turn around to face Professor Agasa.
"Hi Professor Agasa! Good Evening." He smile.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well... all I know is that I'm walking on my way home and my feet brought me here." Shinichi chuckles.
"Is that so?"
"Yes Professor."
"I see. Anyway good night Shinichi." Professor smiles and open his gate to head inside.
"P-Professor?!" Shinichi calls out.
Agasa looks at him. He know Shinichi since he was younger and Agasa knows everything about him, even being Conan Edogawa before.
The two of them went inside at Professor's house, Shinichi comfortably sitting on his sofa and Professor prepared a food for him.
"Your house is so neat Professor!" Shinichi compliments.
Professor chuckles.
"Do you get a maid?"
"Ofcourse not. Ai kun just help me to clean and organize everything here."
"Ai kun?"
Professor reaction suddenly change, he laughs nervously.
"A-Ai Kun is a relative of mine Yes!"
"Ai..." Shinichi closed his eyes and trying to remember something.
Professor Agasa's telephone rings and Shinichi suddenly open his eyes, Professor is glad that his telephone rings to interrupt Shinichi's mind. Agasa excuse himself to answers it. Shinichi watches the old man talking on the telephone. His eyes wander around and sees a picture in a frame displayed on the table. It's Professor with 5 kids, Shinichi stands up to take a closer look but Professor suddenly approach him.
"S-Shinichi? I'm sorry I'm not trying to be rude but you need to go home now, I need to rest now since I'll be waking up early tomorrow for the convention."
Shinichi thanked him before he headed outside.
'I'm sorry Shinichi but I already promise to Ai kun that I'm not gonna mention about your past.' Professor thoughts.
The truth is... Shinichi lost his memory about being Conan Edogawa, he didn't have an amnesia but when he took up the aptx 4869 that will bring him back to his normal life he suddenly can't remember what happen when he wakes up. Professor Agasa was the one who observed him because Ai already left Japan. Ai warned Professor about the side effect of the drug she made and according to her that it's better to resume his life without remembering the awful event that happen to him which was him shrinking in a 6 years old body.
Before leaving Japan she thanked Professor for all the kindness he did and made him promise that he'll never mention to Shinichi being Conan and Ai's existence.
She also explained to Professor that she didn't intend to lost his memory about what happened, it's just the side effect of the drug that she discovered when her Aunt Mary took it first.
"You two broke up?" Heiji asked.
"Yeah like two weeks ago." Shinichi smile.
"I'm so sorry to hear that."
"I'm fine really."
"You don't feel sad at all?"
"A little bit but I think it's for the best of us."
"Why you didn't pursue her anyway?"
"Actually I don't wanna think about love. I should focus on college."
"Wow." Heiji laughs.
"I've been distracted so I think I should focus studying. I almost fail a major subject."
Heiji chuckles.
"If you say so."
Shinichi continue strolling on his laptop.
"Hey Kudo."
"Yeah?" His eyes are glue on screen.
"Where are you planning to go in college?"
"Hmmm... I would love to go here." Shinichi shows his laptop screen to his bestfriend.
"London?!?"
"Yeah!"
"Why?"
"Because I wanted there."
"Why?"
"I don't know to."
"What about here? Are you trying to avoid Ran?"
"Ofcourse not. I just wanted to explore so I'd like to study abroad."
"Ohh..."
"Sorry I didn't told you earlier about my plan."
"It's understandable." Heiji smiles.
Months have passed by, Shinichi finally arrived in London and went to the apartment he rented. It's not a big nor a small one, the apartment has a simple style and very neat surrounding. He started to unpack his things afterwards he sit down on his bed.
"Classes started in one week." He sigh.
He feels bored alone in the room but he convinced to himself that he'll be used to it. He's not even planning to party and have friends. He's here to study and that's all.
The next day Shinichi went outside and sees a coffeeshop nearby. He went inside the shop and order a de caf coffee, he sits down and reading a newspaper but he heard a women chatting loudly that caught his attention. He sees a black short hair woman who have a green eyes laughing loudly and a red hair woman who's laughing also. And there's a woman in the corner who is a blonde hair with a turquoise eyes. Shinichi's staring in the blonde woman when the blonde woman eyes met his gaze. Shinichi suddenly look away and drink his coffee. His heartbeat is racing fast and he's sweating.
'Her eyes looks familiar... did I seen her before? Maybe... not?'
He sighed and continue reading. The three women didn't stay in coffeeshop as they headed outside, He watches them walked away.
Not so long ago Shinichi's walking back to his apartment.
A week later, Shinichi went to the university. He successfully found the classroom and there's a few people, he sits down in the middle.
"Hi?" A blonde man said with a British accent.
Shinichi looks at him.
"Hi." He said.
"I'm Matt. What's your name?"
"Shinichi."
"Wait what? Shinichi? You mean you're Shinichi Kudo! the famous highschool detective from Japan?!" He said too loud and everyone looks in their direction.
"Uhh... yeah but you don't have to say it out loud." Shinichi feels shy.
"C'mon! you're a legend! So that's why you really look familiar because you're Shinichi Kudo that I saw on the internet." Matt smiles.
Matt sits next to Shinichi.
"So... we're friends now ok?" Matt chuckles.
Their Professor comes in and everyone's sit properly and becomes quiet.
"I'm Mr Elgort and I'm your Math Professor." Mr Elgort said.
Shinichi can tell he's a strict teacher and he doesn't mind it at all. Mr Elgort started writing on the white board when someone knocks on the door. Everyone in the class looks in the doorway's direction except for Shinichi.
"You must be a new student?" Mr Elgort asked.
"Yes Sir. I am very sorry for being late." The girl politely said.
"If you do this again don't expect me to let you inside my class. Understand?"
"Yes sir."
"You may come in."
The girl went inside the class and the guys in the room started whispering how gorgeous she is.
"Before you take your seat, introduce yourself."
"I am Shiho Miyano. I like reading alot of interesting books. I also like science and animals. It's nice to meet all of you."
Shinichi suddenly looks at the girl who's talking in front of the class.
"Ok Miss Miyano. Please take your seat now."
She started walking towards the second row and sit down. Shinichi can see her from where she's sitting. The class started and he can't stopped staring at her.
"Hey Shinichi..." Matt whisper.
Shinichi looks at him.
"Yeah?"
"I notice that you keep staring at her." Matt pointed at Shiho.
"She's really gorgeous right? Is she your type?" Matt asked.
Shinichi started to flush but he shake his head side by side.
Weeks later...
After class... Shinichi headed alone to the cafeteria to eat and Matt followed him. They sat down in the corner of the room. Matt keeps chatting about random things but Shinichi seems distracted, his eyes was staring in a certain person. Shiho and her friends walks pass by them to exit the cafeteria and Matt looks at Shinichi.
"So therefore you're not really listening to me huh? Coz you're busy staring at Shiho." Matt gives him a teasing look.
Shinichi chuckles.
"It's not what you think."
"Don't deny it Mr Detective, I can see it in your eyes."
"No. I'm serious I just felt like I've seen her before but I can't just tell where was it."
"Then why don't you just asked her directly?"
"How can I ask her when her friends are always around her?"
"You wanna talk to her in private?"
"If it's possible..."
"Ok." Matt stands up.
"Hey where are you going?"
"I'll distract her friends go get your girl!" Matt smiles and runs before Shinichi say a word.
Shinichi sighed.
The bell suddenly rang and its time for the students to go back to their classrooms.
Shinichi decided to skip class since his class is not a major subject, he went to the rooftop and sitdown. He gets a notebook and pen and started sketching.
"I was wondering if my friends are right... that I have a stalker." A sweet and familiar voice said.
Shinichi stopped sketching and look at the woman who's standing in front of him. She bend her knees, her hands are resting on her knees as well. She stare directly in his eyes like searching for an answer. Her face is so close to him that can almost reach his nose if she move a bit. He felt his heart pounding and sweat on his forehead are starting to form. His cheeks are turning red as fire and he can't move on his position.
"Uhh... h-have w-we..." he's nervously stuttering.
"HEY YOU TWO! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?" Someone yelled at them.
Shiho stands up properly and looks at the faculty teacher who yelled. Shinichi's staring at her and he's feeling deja vu.
"Go back to your classes now!" The faculty teacher commands.
Shiho walks downstairs and He still staying there.
"Mister would you like to go back to your class or let me take you the Principal's office?"
Shinichi looks at the faculty teacher and without saying words he started running downstairs to chase her but unfortunately he can't find her.
When the class ended Shinichi and Matt are walking on the way to their apartment.
"Did you talk to her?"
"I was actually gonna ask her but a faculty teacher caught us so no luck."
"That's very unfortunate."
"I know."
Matt reached his apartment and say his goodbye to Shinichi. He's now walking alone going to his apartment when he saw a park. He stop and find a bench to sit. He sits down and get his notebook and pen and continue sketching.
"You like sketching?"
Shinichi immediately look at his back. Shiho is standing there, she sits down next to him and look at Shinichi's notebook.
"You suck at it."
Shinichi looks at his notebook and she's right though... she giggles.
"Sorry I am very a straightforward person." She smiles.
Shinichi looks at her wordlessly.
"Do I have dirt on my face?" She curiously asked.
"None."
"Then why are you always staring at me?"
He look away.
"Tell me... are you stalking me?" She asked again.
"Why would I stalked you, I don't even know you."
"Maybe that's the reason why you're stalking me..."
Shinichi looks at her again. She's smiling at him. There's something in her eyes that made Him wanted to know her more. He felt like he knows her but he actually didn't.
Shiho looks away.
"I feel weird when you're around to be honest." She said.
Shinichi's eyes didn't left his gaze on her.
"I'm not a stalker." He said sincerely.
"Honestly there's something I wanna ask you..."
She looks at him.
"Are you gonna confess your admiration on me? I think it's pretty early to confess." She joked.
Shinichi chuckles.
"What? No..." he smiles.
Shiho laughs as well.
"But I like to know you more better." He whispered.
"Pardon?"
Shinichi smiles.
"I feel like I know you. Have we met before?"
"Maybe? I don't know."
"I see." He looks disappointed. Maybe he didn't really know her. And he met alot of people so maybe he thought he might've met her before but he actually didn't? Alot of questions keeps popping on his mind and unfortunately he doesn't have any answers for it. He didn't speak for a while and Shiho feels awkward so she decided to break the silence between them.
"Hey..."
"Yeah?" Shinichi finally back to his senses.
"There's a nearby fastfood chain here... would you like to go with me?"
"So you're actually asking me on a date huh?" He teased and smirk after.
"You wish! I just forgot my wallet."
The two of them are laughing together.
Shinichi offer his hand to handshake.
"I'm Shinichi."
Shiho gladly takes it and shakes it.
"Nice to meet you Shinichi. I'm Shiho." She gives him a very warm and friendly smile.
Years have passed by...
In Japan.
Professor Agasa is cleaning on his yard when he saw a car stopped in front of the Kudo mansion. He sees the maids are taking off the bags on compartment and Shinichi went out of the car. Shinichi noticed the old man so he walk towards his place and greeted him.
"How are you Professor? It's been so long since we see each other." Shinichi's smiling.
"I'm very well. How are you? I thought you'll never coming back here in Japan."
"Well... my wife actually wanted to visit here so who am I to disobey her?" He chuckles.
"A wife?"
"Hey Professor you sounds like you're not believing that I have a wife."
"Hahaha! No Ofcourse not. I was just surprised I guess when I actually shouldn't. Ran also got married two years ago. All of you are growing and following your own dreams." Professor smiles.
"Oh so you met your wife in London?" Professor asked.
"Uh...y—"
"Honey!" A sweet voice calls out.
Shinichi and Professor looks at the same direction and Professor can't believe it's her!
Shiho is walking towards them and look at Professor.
"Honey this is Professor Agasa. And Professor, this is my wife. Shiho." Shinichi introduced them.
Shiho smiles and Professor smile as well and nods.
"Oh. Professor Agasa if you would like to join us on dinner later? we'd like to invite you." She said.
She have a good feeling on the old man although she hadn't met him.
"I'd like to join you on dinner." Agasa happily said.
The couple excuse theirselves and now walking towards the mansion. Professor smiles while watching them together.
'I'm so happy even you both couldn't remember anything that happen in the past... you both still met by destiny.' A tears of joy fell on his cheeks. He instantly wipes it and headed inside his house happily.
