Hey guys! Welcome to the eighth installment of my 'Under the Mistletoe Series Part Two'
What is this series? Well, around this time six years I got the song 'Holly Jolly Christmas' stuck in my head and wrote eleven drabbles based on kissing underneath mistletoe, and each one was for a different ship. This year I decided to do a Part Two and really challenge myself by writing something for each day from 1st-25th December. So twenty five ships, all kissing under mistletoe, like my own personal advent calendar as it were. Each one can be read alone. I know that not everyone is going to want to read every fic in the series, but I hope that you find them all enjoyable regardless, I know I certainly had fun writing them.
This is my first fic where this ship is in the spotlight rather than a background ship. This is set for AOS but with an AU of Sulu being single. Hope you like it ^_^
Enjoy, much love xox

Lieutenant Sulu and Ensign Chekov occupied living quarters on the same deck, and were often on shift on the bridge together, so it was not unusual for them to meet at the turbo on their way to the bridge.
This morning was no different, both men showed up at the turbo lift on their deck at precisely ten minutes to the start of shift. They wore the same black and gold uniform, except that Sulu had a silver ring around the end of each sleeve to show his rank. Chekov's hair was an unruly nest of gold curls, while Sulu's was cut short and straight.
They greeted the other on sight, and immediately Sulu noticed something different about Chekov's attire.
"Hoping for someone in particular to kiss you Pavel, or just anyone?" Sulu teased as they waited for the turbo lift to arrive, his expression was unreadable.
Chekov seemed startled by the comment, "Huh? What are you talking about?"
Sulu pointed to the little piece of plastic plant pinned to his command gold shirt, "You have mistletoe pinned to your shirt..."
"No, it's holly, for Christmas spirit, like the Captain said," Chekov defended as the doors opened and they entered the empty lift, "Bridge," he told the lift while the doors closed behind them.
"Chekov, I'm telling you that's mistletoe, holly has red berries. I know my plants," Sulu corrected him with a smirk.
Chekov swore in Russian.
"So I guess that means that you weren't waiting for anyone to kiss you...?"
Chekov smiled shyly as he quickly glanced at the other man, "I didn't say that. Do you think that it will help?"
"I don't know, depends on who it is you want to kiss you," Sulu shrugged trying to be nonchalant about the whole thing.
"I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens," Chekov announced as the lift came to a stop and the doors opened.
It was time for work after that. The shift was long; they gallivanted across a few hundred thousand miles of space to investigate a distress call that had turned out to be a fake. Then they just monitored the vast expanse of space around them as they awaited their next orders from Starfleet. By the end Chekov was stifling yawns, and still no one had kissed him.
Sulu and Chekov finished shift and entered the turbo lift to head back to their quarters before dinner.
"Are you going to wear that to the mess hall?" Sulu inquired, motioning to the pinned mistletoe.
"I don't think so, it didn't seem to help," Chekov shrugged, hiding his disappointment.
"Oh? You've only been on the bridge though, and your options are pretty limited there," Sulu tried to be supportive.
"Yes, well, if it didn't happen on the bridge, then I don't believe that the mess hall will help," he sighed and removed the pin from his shirt, "it was a mistake anyway."
"Pavel," Sulu said softly, and as Chekov looked up at his friend, the Lieutenant kissed him gently.
Four arms wrapped around two bodies, and their lips moved together, everything else was forgotten until the lift stopped and the doors whooshed open. Someone cleared their throat and they jumped apart bashfully.
After exiting the lift, Chekov was the first to speak, "What took you so long?"
Sulu laughed, "I didn't think that Jim would appreciate it if we started making out on the bridge in the middle of shift."
"What about this morning?" he demanded.
"Didn't want to have to wait until the end of shift to kiss you again…" Sulu punctuated his words with another lingering kiss, "Would you like to join me for dinner in my quarters?"
"Would I!?" Chekov's face lit up, "Just let me get out of my uniform and I'll be right over."
"I can't wait," Sulu grinned, "and Pavel, you don't need the mistletoe anymore."
