CHAPTER 6
BEFORE THE PARTY
Alya had come over to try on her dress so Marinette could adjust the dress.
Alya had only seen sketches but never knew how it was coming along. "So, you're done?" she asked excitedly.
"Yup" Marinette confirmed "it wasn't that hard since no one else wanted me to make their costume." She said a little sadly.
Alya gave her a sympathetic look until she saw the dress.
"OMG! Mari! Your amazing!" squealed Alya once she put on her dress.
It was a dark green with layers on the bottom growing darker. She had a shell shaped handbag and a mask like the real one. She also had a poncho instead of a hood in a light green on her shoulders. The top had a simple carapace pattern and a belt with a turtle shell pin in the middle.
"Great it fits! Now let us do your hair and pick your accessories" said Marinette excitedly. She walked over to drawer and grabbed a box of random accessories she made over the years. (Idk if she has this).
"Well, it needs to green, and turtle patterned." Said Alya practically.
Marinette pulled out a bunch of accessories in green while Alya looked through them.
Once they were done, Alya had a simple green bead necklace, green earrings, and a clip with a turtle all from what Marinette had made. They had also dyed the tips of her hair in a temporary green.
Alya twirled around and looked at a mirror. "Girl! This is incredible!" she gasped striking a pose
Marinette clapped her hands and smiled. "Glad you like it" she said enthusiastically.
Alya turned her attention to Marinette and said "Your turn" finishing with a sly grin.
She then pushed Marinette into her closet where she knew her dress would be. "Don't think of coming out without your costume!" she yelled.
Marinette sighed then let herself giggle while she changed.
When she came out, her hair was still in their usual pigtails, but she had small cat ears that were attached to a headband that camouflaged to her dark hair. Then she had a plain black mask on and a chocker with a small bell dangling from it. Her dress had was a bright green and black with a black string crossing the front.
Her dress was just grazing the floor and was a shimmery black with light green lace and pawprints at the bottom.
Alya squealed when she saw her. "Girl, you look amazing!" she cried "But" she added shaking her head "Can we try letting down your hair?" she pleaded.
Mariette rolled her eyes playfully but removed her hair ties. Alya then pushed her to her vanity and took out a curler.
When she was done, she fingered her chin and said "Better, but I feel like were missing something" she said fingering her chin. T
rixx flew out and around Marinette, "Looks good to me" she declared. T
ikki flew out and said, "You're missing the tail" She pointed to the back.
Marinette twisted to see, then said "I made a tail, but I don't remember where I put it" she said sheepishly rubbing her head.
Tikki giggled and flew through the doors of her closet and busted out with two belts. One was plain black the other with a string of light green pawprints.
"Here you go" she said putting them in Marinette's hand.
"Thanks, Tikki!" Marinette smiled. She then took the pawprint belt and fastened around her waist. She took the other one and looped it around like how Chat Noir's costume looks like.
Alya clapped her hands enthusiastically "There! Now it looks right!" she cheered. Marinette blushed and picked up a purse with pawprints on it.
"Let us go?" she asked "Let us" answered Alya hooking their arms together. The kwami's flew into their bags and they shuffled down the stairs.
WITH THE BOYS
"Nino! hold still" said Adrien trying to fix on the fox ear clips on Nino.
"Why do we need this?" Nino complained.
"Well, they are kind of necessary, and you should be glad you barely have hair!" said Adrien reflecting to Rena Rouge's humongous hairdo.
Nino gulped while Adrien got the ears into place. Both were designed by Gabriel, (not happy about making them look like his enemies but Adrien pointed out that his schedule was free).
Nino was wearing a deep orange suit with a simple white tie. His cape was designed to look like the real thing except darker. The boys messed with some orange hair dye that he could wash off later. He also had a simple orange mask and a gold chain around his neck.
He reluctantly put his cap on his bed. (They decided that it would be better to dress at Nino's house).
Adrien wore a black suit, with a red shirt and a simple red and black tie. He had tousled his hair making it look wilder and wore a red and black spotted mask.
Plagg flew out. "Looks good kid" he said "Kind of simple but then again who likes too much of things" he said decidedly.
Adrien chuckled and said, "Glad you like it".
Nino glanced at the clock and jumped to his feet. "Time to go!" he called out. He raced out with Adrien at his heels.
ONCE THEY GOT THERE
"Wow" whispered Adrien.
"Yeah" replied Nino in awe.
The courtyard was flooded with soft blue and pink lighting and had cut out masks on each pillar.
The stage had bows across the front and on it was principal Damocles with a mic. "Welcome one and all to the celebration of our school's anniversary. We have Miss Marinette to thank for all the decors and preparation. However, she chooses to stay in secrecy behind her mask. So, carry on and enjoy the party." he finished grabbing his cape and flapping it while leaving. After he left, everyone started to relax and sat down to eat. (From the Dupain-cheng bakery of course).
"Should we grab a table?" asked Adrien.
"Yeah sure, Alya insisted we stay secret like the real heroes" Nino chuckled.
"Didn't she say she would be Carapace?" Adrien reminded, but Nino only wagged a finger and pointed near the buffet table where you could see dozens of girls dressed up the superheroes. "Oh, I guess we weren't the only one," said Adrien.
"Well, we need to take some food! I am starving and the dudettes pastries are the best in Paris!" said Nino running to the buffet table.
Adrien chuckled and picked up his stride after him. He and Nino were almost there until he felt something (or someone) bump into him.
He turned around and saw a girl in a Chat Noir style costume. "I'm so sorry!" she squeaked rubbing her head "My friends had pushed me too hard" she said glaring at a girl in a Carapace themed costume who only gave a cheeky smile back.
"Let me guess, your Mister bug?" said the turtle girl. "O-oh, well I guess so yeah, since he's the boy version of Ladybug" Adrien rambled.
"Awesome, well at least now you've got a partner" She laughed and put a hand on her friend's shoulder. "You can call me…uh…" the turtle girl muttered while her friends chuckled and extended a hand forward.
"Hi! I guess if your Mister Bug that should make me Ladynoir?" she said shaking his hand.
"Haha, I guess so" he replied. "So, would you like to eat with us?" he asked like a gentleman.
"Um, who is 'us?" she asked looking around.
"Yo, my dude, don't just disappear on me like that" said a boy in a fox costume. "Oh! Don't tell me you left me to talk with some ladies" he said walking over to Alya. "How do you do? My name is…uhhhhh" he paused.
Marinette and Adrien looked at each other and laughed hard. Nino looked at them confused while Alya playfully rolled her eyes. "Well, Foxman, we were just about to grab a bite, care to join?" she said teasingly to Nino.
Nino smirked, "Why of course" he said hooking arms with Alya.
Their friends watched them leave and looked at each other. "Well, shall we dine?" Adrien asked with a wave of his hands.
Marinette laughed and took his hand. "Why yes, we shall" she said dragging him towards their friends.
After eating Adrien stood up and asked, "Care for a dance?" to Marinette.
She giggled and nodded before striding with him to the dance floor.
Nino made a motion to dance with Alya and she gave a thumbs up in response before they both laughed and walked towards the dance floor. It was a fast song playing so the four of them just went wild with their dance steps.
At some point Adrien bumped into a girl wearing a for costume. "Oh, excuse me" said Adrien being the gentleman he is.
The fox girl giggled "No problem, I'm Volpina, nice to meet you" said the girl and gave a wink.
"Volpina? Oh no I bumped into Lila" thought Adrien recalling the fake name Lila had given herself.
"How would you feel about a little dance? I bet you could show me a bunch of moves" said Volpina batting her eyelashes.
Lila had a bunch of rules to follow, but as Volpina she could do whatever she wanted if she didn't get in trouble. Because no one would know that it's her. And this bug boy was so sincere and gentlemanly how could she pass up. (Now why did the good ones all have to like Ladybug?)
Adrien was about to answer when Ladynoir stepped in. "Hey, we were going to grab a drink, are you coming?" said Ladynoir before shooting a glance at Volpina "Unless you have plans with…her of course" she added.
"Oh no, did I interfere with something? I'm so sorry, I just came here by myself and had no one to talk to so I just wanted to make a friend" said Volpina giving a fake sigh.
Adrien almost felt bad for her, but Ladynoir seemed to be quite the opposite. "Oh, well why don't you talk with them?" she said pointing to who she thought would be Rose, (pig costume) and Alix (bunny costume).
"Oh well, that's sweet of you but I don't think I know them" said Volpina trying to be casual.
"Well, we don't really know anyone except the people we came with, that's the fun of the ball" replied Ladynoir coolly.
"Yeah but-" Volpina started before Adrien cut in.
"Oh well, I think I know them so you would be in good hands, I promised my friend not to leave him so I think me, and Miss cat over here will get going" he said hooking arms with Ladynoir and leaving Volpina in the crowd.
Once they were somewhere isolated Marinette spoke up "Miss cat? Who is she? As far as I know I'm Ladynoir" said the cat girl pulling her arm away once they were outside.
Adrien just smirked, "My apologies Ladynoir, I just know that girl and we better stay away" he said turning more sincere.
"You're telling me" Muttered the girl before correcting herself "I mean! She just had a bad feeling to her! Like with the costume and the sweet talk, not that all foxes are bad! Like your friend! He's cool! They're cool! Awesome even, like Rena Rouge! Rena Rouge is the coolest!" rambled Ladynoir.
Adrien chuckled because the flustered girl reminded him of Marinette. "Well, I prefer Ladybug" said Adrien gesturing at his costume. "I guess you like Cat noir though am I right?" he said teasingly.
"Of course! He's seems like an amazing partner, and he is just so sweet" said Marinette sighing at the remembrance.
"Really? well I doubt he's that great, since Ladybug keeps rejecting him" said Adrien trying not to wince.
Marinette felt the same without him knowing before saying "Well, maybe she has a reason to. I mean she can't enjoy rejecting her partner, who is probably her best friend, all the time" she said wistfully.
"Sure, I guess" said Adrien not to convinced.
Marinette just looked down at her skirt "I was actually thinking of dressing up as her, but I don't think I could pull it off" she said chuckling a bit.
"No! I bet you would be a stunning Ladybug!" said Adrien complimenting her.
She laughed louder before saying "Yeah well, the costume is a but complicated anyway, I would have a yoyo and have spots on-WAIT NO!" she yelled frantically before there was a flash of pink light.
Adrien blinked at the brightness and put his hands in front of his face but when he put his hands down instead of his new lady cat friend, there stood a devastated Ladybug.
Guys I'M SO SORRY! I lost motivation the last months I haven't been posting but I'm back with A LOT of new ideas. Don't think I'm quitting this! You probably have noticed the HUGE changes I made by combining chapters and it was harder than I thought! Again, I'm sorry to my old readers, if you're still here I hope you know I won't give up just yet. To my new readers, lucky you for not having to wait so long. Now here is a question, I have no idea what I should name Alya and Nino in their opposing costumes. So, if you don't mind giving me names for a boy fox and a girl turtle hero?
