Team seven and team eight with their perspective jonin sensei's was now continuing their way to wave country. when Naruto suddenly launched his kunai, almost killing a white rabbit,
"get down" Kakashi said as he gesture the genins to protect Tazuna
WOOSH-WHOOSH- WHOOSH- WHOOSH- WHOOSH- THUNK!
The group looked up to see a large zanbatou stuck in a tree with a man standing on top of it. Said man was shirtless, with two cameo style armbands and pants. His face was half covered in bandages up to his nose and his head band was tilted slightly like Kakashi's, except not covering his eyes, holding up spiky black hair. The symbol of Kiri displayed on the head band with a slash mark running across the center.
"Well, well if it isn't Hatake Kakashi," The man said, in rough sounding voice.
Kakashi stood up and glared at the man. "Momoichi Zabuza, The Kiri No Oni. I never would have expected someone like you to be working for scum like Gato."
Zabuza shrugged, "It pays the bills. Besides, it's all worth it if I get to fight an opponent like you. You know back when I was in Kiri, you were listed as an A-rank ninja with a kill-on-sight order in our bingo book. Hatake Kakashi, the man who copied over a thousand Jutsu."
Kakashi sensei was that famous!!? Naruto thought.
"Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, why don't you hand over the old man and I'll let you and your genin squad go," Zabuza suggested. while finding himself stuck in a tree
"Tree binding death technique," Kurenai said taking Zabuza off guard
"Look at what we have here, another jonin of konoha Yuuhi Kurenai B-rank ninja the genjutsu mistress of konoha " Zabuza said as he break Kurenai's genjutsu
"I'm sorry but you know we can't do that," Kakashi glared at the missing ninja. "It wouldn't look very good for Konoha if we just let you have him without even putting up a fight. Kurenai I can handle Zabuza go and help guard tazuna" Kakashi said making Kurenai nod and went to the bridge builder
Zabuza shrugged, "That was very arrogant, saying you can take me by yourself. Don't say I didn't try diplomacy first." Grabbing onto the hilt of his blade, Zabuza kicked off the tree. He landed on the lake a little ways away, and made a hand sign. "Let's see how well you can do Kakashi, Kirigakure No Jutsu (Hidden Mist Jutsu)."
A thick mist spread across the land, blanketing the already misted area so heavily that no one could see more than a few feet in front of them.
"Defensive Formation team 8 team 7"Kurenai ordered to genin squad, causing them to surround Tazuna in a frontal formation with Naruto and Kiba as the point, Shino on the left and Sakura on the right. Sasuke and Hinta on the back
"Zabuza is a master of the Muon Satsujin Jutsu (Silent Killing Technique), if you're not careful you'll be dead before you even know it. Protect the bridge builder and leave Zabuza to me…" Kakashi turned back towards the lake and began to lift his headband. "It looks like I'm going to need this."
"Ah! The Sharingan," Zabuza voice came from within the mist, his outlined form barely even visible. "It's an honour to be facing it so soon."
How did Kakashi-sensei get that! Sasuke thought in shock. Only members of the Uchiha clan - my clan, can have the Sharingan! Could he…
If Kakashi is using the Sharingan then Zabuza must be really strong. Kurenai thought to herself, Damn, I wish I had gone over that Bingo book Anko gave me! At least then I would know a little bit more about this guy.
"Still we both know that the Sharingan is useless if you can't even see," The mist began to thicken, even more, making Zabuza disappear completely.
Damn it, this mist cuts down the Sharingan's effectiveness.Kakashu cursed, trying to peer into the mist.
"Eight points…" Came the disembodied voice of Zabuza, causing the genin and Tazuna to freeze as an intense killing intent filled the air. "The liver, lungs, spine, clavicle vein, jugular artery, brain, kidney and the heart. Now, which one shall I choose first?"
This…this killing intent,Sasuke thought, struggling to breathe against the killing intent the two jonin were producing.
'Is this what a high level battle between two jonin is like? This suffocating feeling…'Shino began bringing a kunai to his throat. I don't think I can take much more of it!
"Shino Calm down!" Kurenai said as she noticed the trouble her genin were having. "You guys start pushing chakra to your circulation to counter the killing intent"
Shino and the rest seemed to calm down,
Zabuza appeared right in the midst of the genin and Tazuna. Just as he was about to cleave them all with Kubikiri Houcho however, Kakashi appeared right next to Zabuza and stabbed him in the gut, only for the Zaubza that he had stabbed to turn into water.
"Mizu Bunshin (Water Clone)!" Kakashi exclaimed right before Zabuza appeared behind him and cleaved him in half, causing Sakura to scream. However, much to Zabuza's surprise, Kakashi turned into water as well.
"It's over," Kakashi said as he appeared behind Zabuza and brought a kunai to the other ninja's throat.
"I see," Zabuza chuckled as he turned his head to look at the copy ninja. "You created and switched yourself with a Mizu Bunshin when you made your speech didn't you? That eye of yours is quite impressive; however…this battle is far from over!"
Zabuza swung his sword arm around, forcing Kakashi to duck under the powerful swing. Planting his sword into the ground, the mist ninja used the leverage it granted him to launch a powerful kick in Kakashi's face.
Kakashi flew through the air with Zabuza following after him. The silver haired Jonin threw some Makibishi spikes as he fell into the water, forcing Zabuza to stop.
"Makibishi spikes?" Zabuza sneered beneath his mask. "Come on Kakashi, are you even trying!"
Kakashi broke the surface of the water and gasped for some air, "There's something wrong with this water…"
"Hah! Now I've got you!" Zabuza appeared right next to Kakashi, going through a set of hand seals, "Suiton: Suirou No Jutsu (Water Release: Water Prison Jutsu)!"
Kakashi cursed as he found himself trapped within a water prison. He looked over at Kurenai and began to make orders. "Run! Take the bridge builder and go!"
"Oh they'ree not going anywhere Kakashi!" Zabuza chuckled as he made a Mizu Bunshin to deal with the genin.
"Get out of here!" Kakashi yelled at them. "This battle was over the moment I got caught!"
"Kakashi's right you go, Team 8 assist Team 7 ill hold Zabuza until I can" Kurenai said smiling to the genin
"Are you crazy Kurenai sensei" Kiba shouted loudly
"I agree with kiba were not gonna leave you here Nia-chan" Naruto said backing Kiba
"I got a plan listen up" Shino said in montone voice.
"Kage bunshin" Naruto shouted "Let's get this party started"as he and his clones started attacking Zabuza's clone
"I won't let Naruto have all the fun,let's go Akamaru" shouted kiba while giving Kamaru a pill to Make him bigger "Let's go GATZUGA"
Zabuza' clone knock Akamaru while he kicked Kiba, Making him gasped in pain giving hinata an opportunitie to strike him, popping the clone up
"Good job Hinata" Kurenai said "now let's get into the second face of plan"
"Okay it's my turn" Sasuke said smirking a little
"Fire style Great fire ball technique" Sasuke shouted
"Was that supposed to be a jutsu kid"Zabuza said giving Sasuke a mocking smile
" No but that was a distraction"shino said as looked at Zabuza who's being coated with his bug. Sasuke then immediately throw a huge shureken on Zabuza's direction, that caught him off guard but dodge it off easily
"Hmm you need to have a better aim kid "
"I have a better aim" Sasuke said with a smirk
That's when Zabuza look at the shureken direction turning it into Naruto 'It was a henge' Zabuza said while looking at naruto throwing a bunch of kunai's, Making him release kakashi, then feeling once again trapped in a tree where Kurenai attacked him injuring his arm, He started doing handseal to release himself into the ninjutsu, While Kakashi was getting up looking at Zabuza intently.
"Your fight is with me!" Kakashi said, his sharing an eye glaring at the Kiri nuke-nin.
Zabuza glared at Kakashi before jumping back and placing his zanbatou on his back, "Fine by me! I'll just kill the brats after I kill you!" He began going through several hand seals, moving faster than any of the genin could follow.
However, Kakashi could see them, and was managing to copy hand seals that Zabuzawas doing with relative ease.
"Suiton: Suiryuudan No Jutsu (Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu)!" Both Kakashi and Zabuza shouted at the same time. Two large water dragons with glowing yellow eyes formed in front of the two shinobi, clashed against each other with a loud roar, canceling each other out.
Zabuza growled as he started doing more hand seals. As he did however he saw Kakashi begin doing his own hand seals. "What's this? It's like he can-"
"Read my mind?" Kakashi finished, copying Zabuza's hand seals at the same time Zabuza himself was dong them.
Zabuza snarled as he attempted to speed up his hand sealing. "I won't let some-"
"Copycat monkey like you beat me!" The two shouted at the same time.
As they continued hand sealing Zabuza stopped and stared as he found something behind Kakashi that shocked him.
"Is that me?" as his figure appeared behind Kakashi in a wavy apparition.
"Suiton: Daibakufu No Jutsu (Water Release: Great Water Vortex Jutsu)!" Kakashi shouted, sending a huge vortex of water at a shocked Zabuza.
Zabuza was blasted through the air and only stopped when he hit a tree with enough force to the bark. Before anything else could happen several Kunai were launched at the Kiri nuke-nin, hitting him in his arms, left leg and torso. Zabuzacoughed up blood, staining his bandages as it leaked out of his mouth. A presence above him made him look up to see Kakashi crouched down on the tree branch with a kunai in his hand.
"Can you…see the future?" Zabuza asked, not quite sure why he had asked that, only that it seemed to fit with what he had seen.
"Yes." Kakashi said his mixed eyes staring at Zabuza, "and I see your death."
Before Kakashi could finish Zabuza off, several senbon pierced the man's neck. Zabuza's eyes rolled up in the back of his head as he fell to the ground.
"You were right," said a voice that came from Kakashi's left, turning he saw a young person whose gender was hard to tell due to the blue robes that covered his/her form. On the person's face was a mask that Kakashi recognized as a Hunter Ninja mask from Kiri. "This was going to be his final battle."
Kakashi grunted as he leapt off the branch and made his way over to Zabuza, checking the man's pulse.
"He's dead…" He mumbled, turning to look at the hunter ninja. "You're a hunter Ninja from Kiri?"
The Hunter Ninja bowed. "I am, I would like to thank you for stalling him for me. I have been after Momoichi Zabuza for a long time."
Kakashi sighed as he brought his head band back down over his Sharingan.Naruto and Sakura came behind him, looking at the hunter ninja curiously.
The hunter ninja disappeared in a swirl of water reappearing next to Zabuza's fallen body. Bending down the hunter ninja picked up Zabuza, pulling the man's arm over his/her shoulder. "Now if you'll excuse me, this body has many secrets, so I need to go and destroy it."
Kurenai frowned as he watched the hunter ninja disappear in another swirl of water. I get the feeling I'm missing something here…
"Kakashi-sensei!"
Turning around Naruto saw Kakashi fall face first onto the ground, his one visible eye closed. Rushing over to him Naruto supported Kakashi
"Hinata what is Kakashi's status" Kurenai asked,
"H-h-e's j-j-u-st un-n-nco-onscious. S-s-sig-ns indicate chakra exhaustion."
Sighing Kurenai then gesture Naruto to make kage bunshin, Understanding he then brought his hands in the ram seal, "Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!"Two clones puffed into existence and lifted Kakashi by the arms and legs.
"Tazuna-san, we need to get to your home now. Think you can lead us there?" asked Shino. while assisting the grunting Kiba
"Uh…yeah," Tazuna said as he tried to get his bearings. "It's just this way, follow me."
"Sasuke and Sakura you take point," Kurenai said.making Sasuke looked at her for a moment before deciding to comply. The two genin team followed Tazuna as he led them to his house with the two clones carrying the unconscious Jonin following close behind.
"This is my house," Tazuna said then knocking on the door, the one who open the door was his daughter Tsunami
"Dad you're finally back," said Tsunami in a surprised tone while gesturing to the ninja behind him, like asking who are they
"they are ninja from Konoha," said tuna, he was about to add more when Kurenai cut him off
"Maybe you can lend us a room first for our patients, then we talk," Kurenai said looking at Tsunami
"Oh we have a spare room here, please follow me," Tsunami said while still looking at them weirdly especially Kakashi who look half dead
"So that's what happened," Tsunami said, then looked at Sakura who was giving her the rundown of what happened.
"Yes that is what happened tsunami-san," Sakura said while looking at her drink
"Well then All of you go get some rest Kakashi will be fine tomorrow, "Kurenai said getting up to he seat, she then looked at Naruto " Let's go I'm sleepy" added Kurenai getting weird looks from the people around
Naruto just follow, Kurenai obediently he knew she was tired
"Is there something going on between the two of them?" Sakura asked looking at Naruto and Kurenai
"A-n-no I think so too I-i-'ve heard them talking about it," Hinata said blushing, she admire Naruto yes but she still can't believe that he was in a relationship with her sensei
"Wow seriously we're talking about Kurenai sensei here," said Sakura with slight irritation, She can't believe Naruto's with older woman no that she's not happy but she just can't believe
Kurenai was now laying on Naruto's arm while she was stroking his cheek, making him purr so much
"nia-chan can you stop it already," Naruto said while still purring
"Aww, but you said I can do it, are going back on your word naruto kun," Kurenai said smirking because she knew Naruto would not go back to his words
"I'm not but I hate purring," Naruto said while pouting at Kurenai "Please nia-chan," he said with a cute face that always gets Kurenai
"nia-chan can you stop it already," Naruto said while stillpurring
"You told me that I can do it as I please," Kurenai said with an innocent smile
Naruto just give Kurenai a sigh that makes her giggle more
"Can we just sleep nia chan?" Naruto said with pleading eyes
Kurenai laughed at Naruto's discomfort, then she snuggle closer to him
"Fine let's get to sleep"
Naruto woke up later than her teammates when he got downstairs, all of them were already at the table eating
"Hi" Naruto wave at them and sat down beside Sasuke
"Everyone is awake let's discuss what happened to Zabuza " Kakashi said plainly making the genin around him look confused, and kurenai face palmed
"A-n-no Kakashi sensei w-w-what do you m-m-m-ean" Hinata said while poking her fingers together
"Well I mean Zabuza is still alive" Kakashi said as a matter of factly, making Naruto choke on his food
"How could Zabuza still alive Kakashi sensei" Sakura said looking a littlepale
"The hunter nin was his accomplice the senbon was not meant to kill him" Kurenai then explained and sigh " Kakashi and I think that we should train you before Zabuza recover, "Kurenai said making the Naruto and Kiba cheered
Team seven and team eight can be seen standing in the middle of the forest
"You will be doing tree walking, "Kakashi said while still reading his books,
"What do you mean by tree walking Sensei" Naruto asked kakashi who's still reading his books
Kurenai just face palmed looking at the current team seven who doesn't even know tree walking 'Sigh' " Naruto tree walking using your chakra" Kurenai said while Kakashi demonstrate it, making the team seven looked in awe
"Since we'vealready started tree walking before this mission Kiba and Shino just need to perfect it while me and Hinata were going on the lake to do water walking" Kurenai explained and immediately took Hinata to the lake
Kakashi tossed five kunai and instructed them to use it to mark their steps, without saying anything the five of them grab the kunai and started tree walking
Within their base the hunter ninja watched over the bedridden Zabuza, mixing some of the herbs they had.
"So even you have come back defeated."
The hunter ninja turned his head to see Gato standing in between two thugs. One of them was shirtless with a black hakama, and an eye patch on hisrighteye. His left shoulder was adorned with a vine tattoo pattern while he had barbed wire tattoos running down his arms.
The other was wearing a baggy gray jacket festooned with many pockets, a pair of black shorts and a black beanie on his head.
Both of them had a hand holding the sheathes of their swords, trying to make themselves look menacing.
Zabuza's partner thought the pair looked pathetic with their posturing.
"It looks like the Kiri Ninja are pretty pathetic." Gato continued as he moved into the room, feeling confident now that Zabuza was bed ridden. "You can't even avenge your men, how pathetic. And you call yourself a devil?"
"…" Zabuza said nothing, causing both of Gato's ronin to start unsheathing their blades.
"Hold on for a moment," Gato held up a hand as he continued walking up to Zabuza. He stopped at the bed and looked down at the Kiri missing ninja, "Hey. There's no need to stay silent."
Gato began to reach out his hand towards Zabuza's throat, but before it could get there the hunter ninja grabbed onto the business man's wrist.
"Don't touch Zabuza-sama with your filthy hands!" The hunter ninja snarled, giving him a glare that looked like it would burn straight through the fat business man.
"Hey let go! Let go you fucking- ARGH!" Gato shouted, only to scream as the hunter ninja snapped his arm, then tossed him back.
The two ronin moved their hands towards their swords. However, their eyes widened when they found the hunter ninja between them, holding their own swords against their throats.
"You shouldn't do that," The hunter ninja said. "I'm really pissed offrightnow."
Gato and both his cronies began to sweat.
"One more chance!" Gato shouted as he stood up and shook his unbroken hand in a fist. "I'm giving you one more chance to complete this! If you fail, I'll make sure that every ninja in Kiri knows where you are!" Gato and his two thugs left, slamming the door on their way out.
"Haku," Zabuza said, getting his partner's attention. "You didn't have to do that."
"I know," Haku said with a smile, spotting the protrusion in the sheets that showed Zabuza was holding a kunai. "But it's still too early to kill Gato. If we cause a commotionrightnow, the hunters will be after us again. We must be patient."
Zabuzasighed. "Damn…I hate it when you'reright."
Later that night team seven and team eight were sitting at the dinner table inTazuna'shouse,Kiba,Naruto were shoving food in their mouths like there is no tomorrow while Shino and Sasuke was calmly eating and Sakura eating a little because she was too tired to even lift her arms
"Hinata and i were almost finish, in water walking" said Kurenai with an amuse smile "You should all rest early"
"Hinata, how did you do it!!!!" screamed Naruto while shaking Hinata frantically
"A-n-no Na-na-n-a-naruto K-u-n yu-o ju-s-t n-e-e-d tocal-m yo-ur sel-f down"
"Eh what do you mean Hinata"
"Yeah Hinata what do you mean!" kiba added making hinatasigh
"What i mean is you need to calm yourself down, and don't think too much just let your body relaxed while doing tree walking" Hinata said without stopping making her gasp in her breath at the end of her sentence
While in the middle of their conversation a kid suddenly slammed his kid on the dining table
"Why do you even try Gato was just gonna kill you" Inari said and immediately run off to his room
"What's up with him"Sakura aked making Tsunami, Tazunas daughter sigh
"My son has been like that since the incident"
"A-no what incident Tsunami san"
'Sigh'"Gato killed his father my husband, for opposing him"Tsunami explained "Inari has been liked that ever since and hardly go out anymore "
"We're just gonna show him that we can beat Gato,"Naruto exclaimed. making kiba and the other cheered
The next morning the genin just continue practising while Kakashi guard the bridge builder
"Ha!! take that " Naruto exclaimed excitedly, he almost reached the top because he followed Hinata'sadvice
KIba and Sasuke just snarled at him while the other two was just watching them, as they already reached the top since yesterday,
Kiba decided to also follow HInata's advice so he immediately calmed himself down and started tree walking as he almost reached the stop he got exited and fell of the tree, Naruto laughed at kiba making him fall from his tree to
It was night time again and the Konoha ninja can be seen in the dining table again chatting happily, Naruto noticing Inari's gaze at them decided to ask
"You got something to ask?"
Inari stood up and slammed his hands down on the table, "Why do you guys bother to try so hard! No matter how hard you train, you're no match for Gato's men! No matter what glorious claims you make or how hard you work when facing the strong, the weak will only end up getting killed!"
Naruto smirked at the kid, "You know you're exactly right."
Everyone who had been expecting some kind of outburst looked over at Naruto in surprise as he spoke.
"The weak will always be defeated by the strong," The blond looked up at Inari, his smirk widening a tad. "Gato and his men are weak, there nothing but cowards who pick on people who can't even put up a fight against them. They can only fight against people who don't have the strength, or the will to fight back. Against a fully trained shinobi, a bunch of thugs means nothing." Naruto put his head down on the table as he looked away from Inari, "We are not weak. Don't lump us in the same category as you, we're nothing alike."
Inari's tears began to run down his face even harder than before as he glared at Naruto, "I'm glad we're nothing alike! I'd hate to be like you! You don't know anything about this country, yet you keep being so nosy! What the hell do you know about me! I'm different from you; you're always acting so happy, like you don't even have a care in the world! You don't know how hard life can be!"
Naruto lifted his head up and glared at the kid, his gaze, enough so that Inari's eyes widened and he began to shake.
"Listen to yourself, moaning about your life. Thinking you've got it so hard," Naruto's voice was soft, an almost unnoticeable whisper. Yet it somehow managed to carry across the entire room.
Naruto stood up and walked over to the kid who was too frightened from Naruto's glare.
"You sit here in this home with your loving family, with a mom who cooks for you, and worries about you, and loves you unconditionally. You have a grandfather who is building a bridge so that you and your country can be free of Gato's reign," Naruto snorted at the boy in disgust. "What a hard life! Oh, my-san died, boo hoo, look at me whine and bitch like some little brat!"
Having enough of her teammate berating the kid Sakura stood up and glared at Naruto, "Naruto stop "
"Shut! Up!" Naruto punctuated both words with a harsh glare, his word shocked everyone in the room since he never said that to sakura
Naruto turned his gaze back on Inari, "I bet you've never even experienced begging for food or having no home to sleep for the night, have you been hated for all your life!! have you experienced a life with no mother and father or even a guardian to take care of you, has anyone blame you for something you had no idea you even did!!!!"
Naruto remembered his past, being kicked out of the orphanage at a young age, living on the street for nearly a year. Not being able to buy food from the stores unless it was rotten, being forced to find a lot of the stuff he owned in the garbage cans from the people who had thrown their stuff away.
But most of all he remembered the loneliness he had to deal with.
The glares and harsh whispers people had given him.
'Look it's 'him'!'
'Who does he think he is, walking around this street like he owns the place!'
'Listen you are not to go near that 'boy' again!'
'I'm so glad he didn't become a ninja.'
'Yeah could you imagine what would happen if he did. I mean he's the-'
Naruto gritted his teeth as voices flashed through his mind, "I'm glad I'm nothing like you! You're nothing but a coward, sitting here whining about how hard your life has been when there are people in this world who have it far worse than you! A snivelling little kid who'se disgraced Kaiza's name!"
Inari's eyes widened as the blond mentioned the name of his father figure.
Naruto snorted in disgust before turning around and heading towards the door.
"Naruto, where are you going?" Kurenai asked as the blond opened the door.
"Destructive therapy!" Naruto yelled as he slammed the door shut.
Everyonestaredat the door Naruto had left through; wondering what had caused the blond to have such a strong reaction to Inari's words. Inari sniffled several times before he too ran out of the door.
This is a disaster, though I can't say I'm surprised that Naruto reacted like that,Kakashi thought as he stood up, putting his book down for the moment. He stood up and walked out the door. Walking around to the back, he saw Inari sitting with his feet dangling over the water.
"Can I join you?" asked Kakashi, causing Inari to turn his head.
"Tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu"
The forest was covered with a large smoke as Naruto summoned over five hundred clones, without a word he suddenly punch his clone making the forest a huge arena for Naruto and his clones as they rumble
After all of his clones puff off Naruto just laid there with bruise and cuts from kunai, he then looked at the sky thinking how life would be if his mother and father never left him, while drifting into sleep
"Mei sama was this a good idea, i think you should just stay here and wait for Zabuza to come out "Said a man wearing a green haori and a patch on hisrighteye
"Oh shut up Ao, just wait here and i'm gonna see the town it's been a while since i had a normal walk" the woman who was called Mei, she has a long auburn hair with a knot on top
"But what if something happen to you"
"Im not that weak Ao and im not the leader of the resistance for nothing" Mei looked at Ao and started walking, making Ao sigh
Mei was now walking on the woods feeling the wave country's fresh air, she hasn't felt it for so long, after she became the leader of kiri's resistance, she has never had a free time, while walking into the woods she spot something Orange, she felt curious so she walked near it, What she saw just makes her laugh in amusement 'a konoha ninja' she thought looking at the kid sleeping in front of her
She squats near the sleeping ninja to see him more clearly, while her smile never leaving her face she was amuse a ninja wearing an orange jumpsuit she thought while giggling, she examine him more getting a little surprise when she saw a whisker mark on his face without knowing it she extended her arm to touch his whisker
She froze in shock when she heard a purr from his mouth, she quickly recover and began stroking his whiskers more 'he looks like a kitten' she thought while giggling madly
Naruto woke up when he felt someone stroking his whiskers when he open his eyes he saw an extremely stunning woman with a long auburn hair and an eyes as green as this forest
"tenshi" naruto lift his head lightly surprising Mei who was stroking his whiskers
"Im not an angel" Mei said softly while still scratching his whiskers
