A Caged Bird
My freedom long gone
Now I'm unsure
Whether it even existed.
All I remember
Is a life of captivity,
If it be within
This world, life,
Or my own worthless
Existence.
I sought revenge
On those I believed held fault,
Though my own eyes were blinded.
Blinded by own rage and tears,
I continued to follow
What I believed as truth,
Though the truth was
Kept from me;
Buried beneath the years past.
Caged I still remain,
No matter for truth or lies,
Love or hate,
Pain or sorrow.
And it will remain
Until I am claimed by
Death.
