Author's Note
I have been debating for quite some time doing a rewrite of this story. Some have questioned about having a space station and looking back I have been why is it there. I know my thinking was mainly for ship building and repair, but I got to thinking that there are other ways of doing that.
My original story idea for the Sunnydale group was for them to take over the Initiative Base from Season 4 of BTVS. Which led me to thinking why not have my Mortal Kombat crossover build them an automated repair facility, it would look basically like the spacedock from TMP. Then later in the story, after the destruction of Sunnydale, if I ever get that far, they can have a proper space station.
Another thing people were questioning on was the Prometheus, saying it was really a little too advanced. I thought on that if I stick with a Star Trek ship use the NX-01 Enterprise from Star Trek: Enterprise. Utilizing the NX-01 Enterprise would definitely give them story possibilities as it would have energy weapons and torpedoes but they would not be the level of Next Generation era that the Prometheus was from. I remember one gripe with Into the Void was that as far as ship technology goes there was no obvious progression. By using the NX-01 I could do that.
