Chapter 2: Christa
The three of them saw what appeared to be a sleeping girl inside the pod.
Luz: It's a...it's a girl.
Eda: Oh I get it. Those mooks weren't just thieves but kidnappers too? That's unforgivable.
Lilith: We have to get her out, she could be suffocating in there.
King: I'm on it.
King tried open the lid of the pod. But he couldn't get it to open.
King: It's stuck.
Eda: There has to be a latch or something look.
They tried looking around the pod for some kind of latch or opening mechanism. Luz found on the left side some kind of control system.
Luz: I think I found it, but the controls on it are broken. I can't get her out.
Eda saw a gap on the lid of the pod that was dented when crashed. She put the end of her staff in there and tried to pull it open. Lilith did the same and helped her. Luz and King grabbed part of the lid and helped them pull. Finally the lid broke off and the pod was now open. They looked down at the girl inside the pod. She appeared to be about 14-15 years old. She had beige skin color with long fire red hair and on her forehead had what appeared to be a small emerald on it. She was wearing white robe and was still uncouniouss.
Eda: Is she alright?
Luz put her fingers on her neck to try and feel a pulse.
Luz: I do feel a pulse, she's alive.
But then the girl made a sound. She moaned as she began to open her green eyes. She sat up everyone stood back to give her some space.
?: ( rubbing her head) Ow...my head...
She fully opened her eyes which were green. She looked around the area and saw Luz, Eda and King.
?: Where am I?
Luz: Are you alright? Are you hurt?
?: Uh, my head hurts a bit but nothing seems broken.
Eda: Did those guys kidnap you?
?: What guys.
Eda: Uh the Terrible Trio?
The girl just looked at Eda confused.
Eda: The three criminals?
She still looked at her confused.
Eda: The ones who put you in that pod.
Lilith: You three, what did you do to this poor girl?
Scourge: Nothing. She was already in there when I stole that pod.
Eda: I don't buy it.
Scourge: No really. Just because we steal things from people doesn't mean we're not honest. I found that pod when hijacking a pirate ship.
Babalou: He's telling the truth, he found her like that.
Karasniper: Yes. He said that he found that pod from a sinking pirate ship. We had no idea she was in there.
Luz: They might be telling the truth.
Eda: ( sighs) Guess so, but I don't like it.
?: Even though I didn't realize it, I should thank the four of you for saving me. I didn't get your names.
Luz: Oh well I'm Luz. Luz Noceda, this is Eda.
Eda: The one and only Owl Lady.
Luz: This is her sister Lilith.
Lilith: It's nice to meet you.
Luz: And this little bundle of joy is King.
King: I am not a bundle of joy. I am the King of Demons!Kneel before me!
Luz: And you are?
The girl was about to speak but then she frowned.
?: I...I don't know...
Luz: What?
?: I don't know my name. I don't know why I was here, if I was kidnapped or who I am or...ow my head.
King: Oh no, do you think that fall might have given her amnesia?
Luz: I think.
?: What do I do, I don't know who I am or where I live?
Eda: Hey, hey easy, don't push yourself or you'll hurt your head more.
Luz: Don't worry. We're gonna help you. We'll help you find your home.
Eda: Tell you what. Why not stay with us for a little while? It's not safe out here for you.
?: Is it really okay?
Luz: Sure it is. I mean, we're partly to blame for you memory loss.
Eda: That and I don't trust what the Emperor's Coven will do wit her.
Scourge: Uh hey sorry to interrupt but since we technically had nothing to do with her being in a pod and memory loss, does this mean we still gotta go to jail?
The four of them glared at him.
Scourge: ( frowns) I thought so.
Lilith: I'll go collect our bounty and return the items. You take everyone back, oh and take the pod with you.
Eda: The pod too?
Lilith: I've never seen anything like it before. If we're going to help this girl find her home, we should also study the pod to know it's origins. It could give us clues.
Eda: Alright miss know it all, I'll tie it up to my staff. You better not smuggle some of the cash for yourself.
Lilith: Of course not. If anyone was to do that it's you.
Eda: Oh yeah, it would be.
Later.
Luz, Eda, King and the girl made back to the Owl House. Eda landed back down gently to not damage the pod further.
?: Is this where you live?
Eda: Yup, this is the place where we hide away from modern life. And the cops...and my ex boyfriends.
?: It looks nice.
Luz: Well it looks nicer when inside.
They made their way to the front as Hooty noticed them and stretched over to them.
Hooty: Hey guys!
?: Who's that?
Eda: ( groans) I forgot to mention their might be some discomfort with Hooty around.
King: Just pretend he doesnt exist and the voice you hear are just in your head.
Hooty: Hey guys! Did you catch the bounty? Are we still up for game night. I'm thinking of charades. I'm good at charades.
But then he notices the girl with them.
Hooty: ( gasps) Oh wow, company!
?: ( small smile and waves) Hello.
Hooty: Hello. What's your name? You wanna be my friend? I have a lot to talk about. Hoot! Hoot!
Luz: Hooty please, this girl is going through a lot right now.
Hooty: Oh I get it okay, I'll give her some space.
Hooty retracts back to the house and stops talking.
King: ( whispers) Wait did that really work?
Hooty: But once you're ready we can talk for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours...
King: ( groans) Of course what did I expect.
As Hooty kept talking they rushed inside the house to get away from him.
Luz: Sorry about that.
?: Oh it's alright. He seemed kinda funny.
The girl looked at the inside of the house.
?: Wow, you were right it is nicer inside.
Eda: Okay let's see for your room well...oh wait I already gave the spare room to Lilith.
Luz: Eda, I don't mind sharing my room with her.
Eda: If you say so. I was almost gonna suggest the attic, but I don't think you wanna go in there.
?: Why what's in the attic?
King: Trust me you don't want to know.
Luz: I'll go get some blankets and a sleeping bag ready for you...uh okay we really have to give you a name. At least one we can call you until you remember your real name.
?: I guess that's fine. What should I be called?
Eda: Oh I got one. How about...Eda 2.
Luz: Eda 2?
Eda: Yeah I'm Eda 1 and she'll be Eda 2.
The three of them looked at Eda akwardly
Eda: Alright fine, I'm not good with names sue me.
King: Oh I will. Cause I got a better name for you. You shall be known as Demona. Join me and Francois and we shall have the world tremble before us!
Luz: King that's nice and all, but I think it might sound too evil for her.
King: It's not evil it's edgy.
Eda: Alright you gotta better one Luz?
Luz: Okay um...how about Lisa, no wait too generic. Okay Lenore! No that's a name for someon'e ex wife that he would miss deeply. Uh Luz 2. Wait no.
Eda: Ha! You're just as bad as I am.
Luz: Okay I got it for real this time. How about... Christa?
Eda and King: Christa?
Luz: Why not, it's a nice name and even if it's not your name it suits you.
?: You know I like that. Okay from now on, you all can call me Christa.
King: I guess that works too. Was hoping for Demona but better than Eda 2.
Eda: It's official, welcome to the Owl House Christa.
Christa: Thank you all, this means a lot.
Later.
Luz was helping Christa settle in. After dinner she lead her to her room.
Luz: Well this is my room. You'll be sharing it with me. I know it's not much but...um it's not much.
Christa: It's okay, this will do.
Luz got a sleeping bag and pillow ready for Christa. She then got dressed in her pajamas and got inside her sleeping bag. Luz turned and saw Christa looking through the window.
Luz: Hey are you okay?
Christa looked at Luz and had a frown.
Christa: I just... I'm just scared and upset that I don't remember anything about myself. What about my parents? They must be worried about me. I don't know if I can sleep.
Luz got up to her.
Luz: I know things are bad right now. I can only imagine what that's like. But Christa we're here to help. Especially me. I feel like you lost your memory because of me.
Christa: Well, I can tell you didn't mean it. You seem like a nice person Luz.
Luz: Thanks, don't worry. We'll do everything we can to find your home and hopefully restore your memories. And if you ever need anything, just come to me. I'm here to help. Okay?
Christa: ( nods and smiles) Okay.
Christa got in her sleeping bag as Luz did hers.
Christa: Oh and Luz?
Luz: Yeah?
Christa: Thanks again for letting me sleep here. At least right now I feel safe.
Luz: You're welcome. Goodnight.
Christa: Goodnight.
Luz put out her light glyph as the two went to sleep.
Meanwhile
At Emperor Belo's castle, deep within inside, the portal was still being restored as guards and scientists were trying to rebuild it. Kikimora, the emperor's assistant was monitoring them. Then she heard the doors behind her open and it was Emperor Belos himself. She saw him enter and kneeled to him.
Kikimora: My lord.
Emperor Belos: Kikimora, status report.
Kikimora: Reconstruction of the portal is going...slowly. Because it was blown to bits and pieces we're trying to recover every last bit. If every piece is not found it won't work.
Emperor Belos: You will find every piece. If we are to create a perfect new world, the Day of Unity must commence. Is that clear Kikimora?
Kikimora: Yes my Emperor.
They heard the door behind him open again. This time it was the Golden Guard.
Kikimora: The Golden Guard.
Golden Guard: Uncle, I did as you asked. I sent word to the other members to return back to the castle.
Emperor Belos: Excellent my nephew.
Golden Guard: But if you don't mind me asking, is it truly necassary to bring them back here?
Emperor Belos: I do. After what happened with the Lilith, Eda and the human I can't let anything else interfere with the Day of Unity. I'm sure we'll need help from the others and I want them to witness the perfection that soon to come. Everything will go according to plan. It's what the Titan wants.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. So this was actually meant to be one big chapter, but ended up making it into two separate ones. Not much here, other than the introduction of Christa. While this story will mainly revolve around her and her relationship with Luz, I will give other characters their own spotlight as well as bringing in new characters.
