Chapter 7: Escaping Expulsion
At Bonesborough Library, in Amity's secret hideout, Amity, Luz and their new member Christa were there for this weeks Azura Book Club.
Luz: Alright, welcome back to this weeks Azura Book Club. Today we have a new member, say hello to Christa.
Christa and Amity were sitting on bean bags looking around confused, but Christa just went with Luz's introduction and played along.
Christa: Uh, hello everyone. Haha.
Amity: Um, Luz there's only three of us here.
Luz: I know, but every club needs and introduction.
Christa: Amity this so cool. You have a hideout for yourself?
Amity: I mainly come here to study, or just to get away from home you know.
Christa: Get away from home?
Amity: Let's just say it's rough. Especially with my parents.
Christa saw how Amity looked away when she answered her. Knowing she looked uncomfortable she decided to drop it and not upset her. She just became friends with her and didn't want to mess things up.
Amity: Anyway, you wanted to see my collection right?
Christa nodded as Amity showed her around. The books on her shelves were her favorite novels or historical books to study on. Then they got to her Azura books, the first four volumes she owned.
Christa: Wow, you have the whole set.
Amity: I haven't gotten the fifth volume yet, but Luz was nice enough to let me borrow her's.
Luz: Well, I mean it was the least I could do to make up uh...you know.
Luz looked away frowning and scratching the back of her head.
Luz: Invading your hideout and looking into you diary.
Amity frowned also remembering that night.
Amity: Well...to be fair I kinda deserved it.
Luz: No you didn't. What I did was so uncool.
Amity: I was so mean to you though.
Luz: Well you said it yourself on the diary, you don't mean to be cruel, but couldn't show weakness.
Luz's face turned red.
Luz: I'm sorry, is it wrong that I remembered that and quoted it?
Amity: No it's okay. I guess, neither of us were innocent that day. Let's just...forget it about it and move on okay.
Luz: Yeah let's do that.
The two looked at each other for a moment and both looked away blushing.
Amity: Anyway, you two want to see somthing cool?
Christa: Yes.
Luz: How cool is it?
Amity: Oh, you'll see.
Amity went to her desk and went through one of the drawers. She took out an Azura doll. She had a shiny silver coating on her clothes and sparkling green hair. It was still in the box. Christa looked amazed, but Luz was breathing heavily and then squealed like a fan girl.
Christa: Luz are you okay?
Luz: OH MY GOSH! Is that what I think it is? A limited editio Shiny Azura doll with talking features.
Amity pressed the button on the back of the box as the Azura doll spoke.
Azura: Do not underestimate me. I am the Good Witch Azura.
She presses it again for another voice command.
Azura: Now eat this sucker!
Luz: It is. How did you get a hold of this? Only 1,500 are known to exist and they command outrageous prices on the internet!
Amity: Yeah it's a mailway exclusive. Get 50 points on the back of any Azura related toys and mail that with 10 snails to get this.
Luz: You know I think I had that too in my world, but I couldn't afford enough toys to get 50 points. Amity you're more of a hardcore fan than I am.
Amity: Well, I mean I don't like to brag. But I don't normally have anyone to share this with. Not until now.
Luz: Well that's why we have this club. To share our interests.
Amity: Right, anyway should we begin reading?
Luz: Since we have a new member, should we start at the beginning?
Amity: Sure, I don't mind. I mean are you okay with it Christa?
Christa: Yeah I want to know where it all began.
Amity gets the first volume.
Amity: Luz do you want to do the honor to read first?
Luz: Aw thanks I would. Alright let's get comfortable.
Everyone sat at their own bean bag chair as Luz began to read.
1 hour later
The three of them emerged out of Amity's secret hideout and quickly closed it so no one could see.
Amity: Did anybody see?
Luz: No it's clear.
Amity: Good.
Luz: You had fun Christa?
Christa: I sure did. It's nice to get out and it helps me clear my mind about my dream.
Amity: Are you okay?
Christa: I'm fine don't worry.
Edric and Emira: Hey Mittens.
Amity's face turned into an annoyed look when her twin siblings Edric and Emira called her nickname right behind her.
Amity: Ugh, Ed, Em what do you want now?
Emira: Can't we visit our baby sister once in a while? Hey Luz.
Luz: Hi guys.
Edric: Hey who's your new friend Mittens?
Amity: This is Christa. Christa these are my older siblings Edric and Emira.
Emira: Hello Christa, I haven't seen you around. Are you new here?
Christa: Well sort of. Or I don't know really.
Luz: She has amnessia. She doesn't remember much about herself or where she lives.
Emira: Oh, I'm so sorry.
Christa: It's alright, but Luz and her friends have been helping me to remember and find my home and have been nice to me.
Edric: Is Mittens giving you trouble? I mean don't hold it against her. She's always had trouble warming up to people.
Amity: ( annoyed tone) Ed...
Edric: Just messing with you Mittens. But if she does give you trouble, just see us okay.
Edric winks at Christa, making her blush.
Edric: Anyway Mittens, the real reason we're here is to pick you up.
Emira: Mom and Dad has their presentation tonight.
Amity: ( groans) Yes I know. Luz I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow at school. Christa thank you for joining us today, I'll see you around one of these days after school or next week for the next meeting.
Christa: Okay see you Amity
Luz: Alright then, see you at school Amity. Oh and bye Ed, Em.
Edric and Emira: Later Luz. Take care Christa.
Once they were gone, Luz and Christa made their way out of the library.
Christa: I don't know about you , but her brother was kinda hot.
Later that night.
At Blight Industries the private sale for the next wave of abomination security defenses were about to be shown. Investors were making thier way inside all cloaked up to remain anonamys. Once they were all in, the stage lit up with two other cloaked figures appeared on the stage. One of them spoke.
Woman: Welcome valued investors, to our annual Blight Industries private sale!
She uncovered herself to reveal to me Amity's mother Odalia. The other figure tried to uncover himeself, but ends up tripping, revealed to be Amity's father Alador.
Odalia: If you're interested in reliable home security, we're here to help. And if you got an enemy or two. Well, who are we to judge? This is my husband Alador Blight, the greatest abomination creator of the era. My name is Odalia and as an oracle I predict you will love what we got in store tonight. We are proud to present the first glimpse of our crowning achievment, the Abomiton soldier.
A platform rose from the stage revealing a tall abomintion robot figure with bronze armor and a purple orb on it's chest, with Amity standing next to it. The audience applaud for it's presence.
Odalia: It will pour your tea. Help you keep up with the latest trends. And best of all it will defend you from any unwanted visitors.
Amity and the Abomiton kept their distance about to fight, or stage a fight according to Odalia's plan. She began to comunicate with Amity with telapathy using the necklace they both have.
Odalia: Mama to Mittens, remember our deal. Make this look good and we will forgive your recent lackluster performance in school.
Amity: ( sighs) Yes mom.
The fight began as the Abomiton enlarged it's fist and stretched it's arm to smash Amity, she simply backed away to avoid it.
Amity: ( in a dull/fake tone) Wow, it's so fast and strong. Order now.
The audience applaud. Odalia was looking impressed while Alador just yawned. The Abomiton then grabbed Amity and lifted her up in the air.
Amity: ( in a dull/fake tone) Oh no its undefeatable. How will I ever escape?
But then something fell out of her sleeve. It was a picture of her, Luz, Willow and Gus taking a group photo at Grom. She saw it fall and the Abomiton about to step on it. She couldn't allow it, she broke free with her powers and tore the Abomiton down. The audience disappointed all left. Amity bent down to get her picture while Odalia ran onto the stage.
Odalia: Uh...of course that was just a beta test. We can't wait to show you next week the finished product in all it's glory.
Everyone was gone except for one hooded figure. She gave a small chuckle and slowly applauded approaching Odalia. She couldn't tell who it was but did see a snake resting on her shoulders and neck
Woman: Bravo Odalia, bravo. Probably your best show.
Odalia: Who are you?
Woman: What? You don't recognize and old friend.
The woman took off her hood, revealing to be the Legion of Five member, Selene Crimson.
Odalia: Selene Crimson? I haven't seen you in years.
Selene: Me and the other members were just called back to castle. The Emperor needed us for some special tasks.
Odalia: And he sent you here?
Selene: No, I just thought I dropped by to see how you're doing and it's just as I expectd, terrible as always.
Odalia: This was nothing more than a test. I'm pretty succesful.
Selene: Yes, you may utalize magic with technology and own a buisness. But face it, it's insignificant compared to being in the Emperor's Coven. Serving the greatest and most powerful witch in Boiling Isles. Something you failed at years ago.
Odalia growled at her balling her fists.
Selene: Oh I see you still haven't gotten over it. Typical Odalia always reminded how much of a failure she is.
Odalia: You want to see something successful? Be back here for the next show. I will show you something never before seen in the Boiling Isles.
Selene: HA! I'd love to see you try.
Selene laughed as Kaa hissed with her as she petted him.
Selene: But with all seriousness, I'll be there. Show me your best work.
Selene walked away as Odalia tried to take a deep breathe and then focused her attention on Amity.
Odalia: Amity! You just lost us a lot of money and made me look like a liar and fool to everyone! What has gotten into you lately!?
Amity paid no attention to her, but she saw the picture Amity was holding.
Odalia: I see. Looks like our precious Mittens has been getting distracted.
The next day.
At Hexside, Luz was with her friends walking through the hallways talking.
Luz: Wait so say that again Gus. This was the worst thing that ever happened to you?
Gus: Oh it was terrible. When I was young I signed up for Human Appreciation fanclub. The ad said I'd get a welcoming kit and two news letters. I got the kit but they only sent one newsletter. One!
Willow: And...
Gus: And what?
Willow: That's it? That the worst thing to ever happen?
Gus: Well yeah pretty much.
Amity: Don't you think you were over exaggerating?
Gus: Over exaggerating. I don't think you guys get the point, it's false advertising. Imagine going to a movie that starred a famous actor only for him to be killed off in the first act of the film.
Suddenly they heard the announcement come on, but something didn't seem right.
Principle Bump: You can't just barge in here!
Odalia: Yes we can, we are the Parent Creature Accosiation. Luz Noceda, Willow Park and Augustas Porter. Report to Principle Bump's office now. And you too Amity.
Amity: Mom?!
Later at Principle Bump's office.
The four students sat as Odalia spoke glaring at them while Alador was distracted at the tail on Principle Bump's head.
Odalia: The abomination situation, the destruction of detention, the rampage of Grom. These are but a few incidents that have endangered Hexside students, including our daughter.
Odalia motioned at Amity as she glared at her.
Odalia: So, the PCA have decided...
Odalia waited for Alador to say his part, but was too distracted.
Odalia: I said, the PCA has decided that...
Alador was still distracted.
Odalia: Alador. ( snapping her fingers) Alador!
Alador: AH! I'm awake what?
Odalia: Your line.
Alador: Oh right, right. Uh the PCA has decided that...uh...um...I'm sorry line?
Odalia: ( pinching her face) Oh for the love of...just use the card.
Alador: Oh okay, hold on.
Alador took out card that contained his lines.
Alador: These three are bad influences and must be executed.
Luz and her friends gasped.
Alador: Wait that's not right. Hold on.
Alador got his reading glasses out and puts them on.
Alador: Oh that's better, I meant expelled. You three must be expelled.
Luz, Willow and Gus: What?
Amity glared back at her mom and was about to speak up, but then she communicates her with the necklace again.
Odalia: Take this as a lesson Mittens. A Blight always upholds there end of the deal.
Amity looked down frowning.
Luz: Principle Bump, they can't do that. Can they?
Principle Bump: Sadly, I have no choice of the matter. Luz, Willow and Augustus, effective immediatly you are no longer students of Hexside.
Luz: No! But... Amity tell them!
Odalia glared at Amity to keep quiet. Amity reluctantly did so.
Odalia: Good, now you will be taking double the classes to make up for lost time. Actually I'm appauld that you're not in class right now. What are you thinking?
Alador: Wait, but didn't you just tell her to come here?
Odalia: Shut it Alador!
Alador: Sorry.
Odalia: Now then.
Odalia snaps her fingers as two school guards enter and drag the three out as they struggled.
Luz: Wait no! Amity! Amity!
Amity couldn't do nothing to help her friends. She just gazed over with a sad look.
Minutes later.
The three of them were outside the school, unable to take in what had just happened.
Gus: I can't believe this. Our memorable adventures caught up to us. This worse than the newsletter incident.
Willow: Gus, would you forget about the newsletters for two seconds? We just got expelled.
Gus: I know. Oh no my dad can't find out about this. I can't come home, I guess I'll just have to live off the land. I have to live the rest of my life eating dirt, twigs and leaves.
Willow was hugging a tree.
Willow: I guess this is goodbye tree. I'll water you one last time with my tears.
Luz was so upset of what just happened. She remembered she really wanted to be enrolled at Hexside and now it's all gone. Then she saw Amity's parents exiting.
Luz: Hey!
The two stopped. Odalia turned to Luz while Alador was too busy chasing a fairy.
Luz: How dare you mess with my friends lives. What have we ever done to you?
Odalia: Luz was it? Please it's nothing personal. I actually appreciate your tenassity. We're just teaching our daughter a valuable lesson in buisness.
Luz: How does this teach anything. We're still gonna be friends wit her you know. I'm calling apple sauce on your buisness boloney.
Odalia: Your human language is a bit hard to understand, but I think I see your point. Perhaps we work things through.
Odalia takes out a buisness card and gives it to Luz.
Odalia: If you're interested, give us a call or stop by. I'm sure we can work things out.
Odalia leaves.
Odalia: Alador lets go. Alador?
She saw Alador still chasing the fairy. She grabbed his ear and pulled him away.
Odalia: Alador it's time to go.
Aladaor: But...the fairy.
Odalia: You can play with fairies later! You still have work to do with our new creation.
Luz watched as they left. She looked at the card and then put it in her pocket. Then she heard something fall behind her. She turned and saw Amity who dropped some of her books. The three friends approached her.
Amity: Guys, I'm so sorry. I was such a coward in there, but my mom...
Luz: Hey I get it. You're afraid of her.
Willow: Yeah, I've seen how she is.
Luz: But I'm not afraid of her. Maybe we can still get back in. She seemed open to talk things through.
Amity: No, no don't do that. Luz she may seem like she wants to talk things throught but she always twists it. She'll make you do something that you'll either regret or put you in danger.
Luz: But most of what happened before was because of me. Willow and Gus don't deserve this. So will you help me please.
Luz gave her a small smile. But Amity gave her a frown.
Amity: I...I can't. I have to go.
Amity walked away. Luz frowned seeing she won't be getting any help from her.
Gus: So what now?
Luz: Don't worry guys, I'm gonna get ourselves back in. Somehow.
Later at the Owl House.
Eda: WHAT!? You got expelled?
Luz: Yeah.
Eda: After everything I went through to get you enrolled, you lost it? I mean normally I'd be proud of you, being a bad girl and all, but this is different. What happened?
Luz: Amity's parents convinced Principle Bump that we were a bad influence.
Eda: You mean those Blights? Ugh of course they'd do this. I swear if I wasn't so powerless, I'd march over there and give them a piece of my mind.
King: Yeah lets get over there cut their heads off and put them on a spear! Nobody just expelles my best buddy.
Lilith: I don't think violence would be the answer.
Eda: Well you got any better ideas Lily? Can't you pretend you're still part of the Emperor's Coven and use your authority to threaten them or something.
Lilith: I'm not part of the coven anymore. Do you know how much trouble you can get into for just talking about impersonating an Emperor's Coven member. You can get in trouble for visiting someone talking about impersonating an Emperor's Coven member.
Eda: Well I'm not gonna sit back and just let this happen.
Christa: Luz is there no way for you to get back?
Luz: Well, I mean Amity's mom looked like she wanted to talk.
Eda: Nah uh. Luz I've heard about her, she's crazy. Just give me time, I'll think of something. Hmmm, I could go to Bump and tell him off. Or I could sabatoge the Blight's buisness as a vigilante and blackmail them? No,no wait. I'll find some nude photos of Alador and blackmail him. Wait no this is Odalia we're talking about.
Luz went upstairs as Christa followed.
Christa: I'm really sorry you got expelled Luz.
Luz: I'm more concerened about Willow and Gus. This is there life.
Christa: What happened with Amity?
Luz: She couldn't help. She seemed so scared. I've heard how her mom is kinda controlling and she's afraid to stand up to her.
Christa: Right, we'll do everything we can to get you guys back enrolled. I'm gonna go down and brainstorm. You want to help?
Luz: No, I just need time alone.
Christa: Okay then. Be back.
Christa left the room, leaving Luz alone. She leaned on the wall trying to think. She could over hear more ideas Eda was trying to think of but none of them seemed very good. After an hour of thinking Luz took the buisness card back out and turned it over to see the Blight's address. Despite Amity and Eda's warning, Luz decides to see Odalia herself.
Later at Blight Manor.
Luz has arrived at Blight Manor.
Luz: Wow, so this is Amity's place. Fancy.
She knocked at the door and opening it was an abomination butler groaning at her.
Luz: Uh hi, um is Mrs Blight here?
The abomination butler nodded and lead her inside.
Luz: Wow this place smells a lot better than the Owl House.
The abomination butler lead Luz to the door Odalia as in. Before she went in she tried remolding the abomination butler's face into a cat, only for it to melt down a little.
Luz: Well I tried.
Luz opened the door and went down the stairs in the workshop room.
Luz: Hello. Mr and Mrs. Blight?
But then a abomination hand it the wall, almost hitting Luz. She turned and saw Alador looking like he's operation on an abomination while Odalia sat back drinking tea.
Odalia: Oh don't mind him dear. He's just getting ready for our big demonstration tonight. It's looking good hon!
Luz: Well I'm here to appeal to your hearts Blights.
Odalia: That's sweet, but lets just cut to the deal. We have an important presentation tonight showing off some new products.
Luz: Like abomintations?
Odalia: Something like that. Normally Amity helps us with these things, but she's currently busy with school work.
Luz: So let me guess. You want me to do help you with this demonstration.
Odalia: Exactly.
Luz: If I do this, you have to promise to let me and my friends back to school.
Odalia: Of course human. A Blight always upholds their end of the deal. Now you might want to get ready, because we got a long night ahead of us.
Meanwhile at Emperor Belos Castle.
Inside the castle was a large lounging room for the Legion of Five. Mikela had his own section with art and was working on painting for Emperor Belos. Voffa was practicing on a large pipe organ trying to make new song for Emperor Belos as well, he was in a sound proof container to not annoy the other members. Satarakura was at his work station making gadgets and joke toys. Shadam was sitting in front of a fire meditating and chanting while Selene had a work spot for potions with Kaa assisting her. He grabbed a green vile with his mouth and handed it to her.
Selene: Thank you Kaa. It's so hard to find good help these days.
Selene scratched under his chin, much to his liking. She poured the vile into the pot and stirred. The potion looked ready for her and got out a set of bottles and a funnel. She poured the potion into each bottle.
Selene: Excellent. With this, it should give me powers of the snake.
The the door opened and entering the room was the Golden Guard. Everyone except Shadam stopped what they were doing and turned to the Golden Guard.
Golden Guard: Well then, I see you're all looking comfortable.
Satarakura: Hey we had a long day Goldy. It's time to chill. Relax.
Golden Guard: Oh I know. But have you got anything to report?
Mikela: Well, no.
Golden Guard: Nothing regarding the resistance.
Voffa: None at all unfortunatly.
Golden Guard: You all realize the Emperor is relying on us to get things done before the Day of Unity?
Selene: We're well aware of that. The problem is that these rebels you speak of are hard to find and often escape.
Golden Guard: Keep looking, you guys are said to be the best so act like it. By the way, you look like you're prepared to go somewhere Selene.
Selene: I'm about to see the new private sale from Blight Industries.
Golden Guard: Oh okay, visiting an old friend I see.
Selene: She's not my friend.
But then the Golden Guard motioned to Shadam who was still sitting in front of the fire and chanting. He walked past the others and approached him.
Golden Guard: Did you not hear me come in?
Shadam: I'm busy.
Golden Guard: Oh you're busy huh. Well I'm here to get update with you five and you're just lazying around.
Shadam: I am the oracle of this group. I'm looking for the resistance.
Golden Guard: And have you found anything yet.
Shadam: No, it takes time.
Golden Guard: Well then, I guess you're not doing your job right.
Shadam: What?
Shadam sat up and glared down at the Golden Guard.
Shadam: You dare insult me?
Golden Guard: Oh I'm sorry, did I hurt your feelings old man or are you just losing your touch?
Shadam: Why you...
Sparks of electricity were forming around Shadam's head.
Shadam: You stupid brat!
Shadam was about to attack the Golden Guard when his fellow members came to hold him back.
Shadam: I swear, if you weren't the Emperor's nephew, I would kill you right here where you stood and he wouldn't care.
Golden Guard: Please, even if I wasn't you'd never beat me. Selene you said you were about to go out. Why don't you take Shadam with you. He needs to cool off. And be sure to report anything major there. BYYYYYYYYYEEEE!
The Golden Guard leaves the room.
Shadam: Let go of me, I'll kill you!
More electricity was forming from his head, growing stronger and his eyes were turning into blood red.
Satarakura: Uh oh, guys he's going savage.
Mikela: Selene the pacifirier potion. Quickly!
Selene took blue potion from her waist and had Shadam drink it. After drinking it, the electricity died down and he started to calm down. They let him go as he fell to his knees breathing heavily and his eyes turned back to normal.
Selene: Shadam, you can't let your anger out. You know what happens when you do.
Shadam: I know. I just can't stand him.
Voffa: Oh believe me none of us do. That brat is always acting like he's better than us. He did not work his way up like we did.
Mikela: And we obey him? Nonesense. Emperor Belos is the only one I respect and follow.
Satarakura: He may act cool, but the sad thing is nobody likes him. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Selene: Anyway, I'm about to head off now. Care to join Shadam.
Shadam: Very well.
Selene: Come along Kaa.
Kaa slithered his way to Selene and turned into her staff.
Selene: Anyone else.
Mikela: No.
Voffa: Count me out. Those Blight's are more snobbish than you Mikela.
Mikela: Yes they're very...hey!
Satarakura: I'm busy, I have my own gadgets to work on. But have fun love birds. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Selene bonked him on the head with her staff.
Satarakura: Ow, just kidding. Geez loosen up Selene.
Selene and Shadam exited out of the castle. They got onto her staff and flew over to Blight Industries.
Shadam: So tell me, is it true you know Odalia Blight?
Selene: I do.
Shadam: So you're friends with her.
Selene: Oh no, atleast not anymore. Long story short, we used to go Hexside together. We had at first a friendly rivalry growing up but we both wanted to join the Emperor's Coven. It was our dream. They had one spot available at the time and we had to duel for it. Of course I won and publicly humiliated her. I heard her parents disowned her for losing. She's been at me for crushing her dreams and ruining her life and tried everything she could to be better than me. She could try all she wants, but know's she'll never beat me.
Shadam: If you don't really support her, why are we going to this?
Selene: The other day she had another presentation but failed. I wanted to see her fail again.
Shadam: And if she doesn't?
Selene: ( shrugs) Well, I'll let her enjoy her victory. For now.
Later that night
At Blight Industries, investors were returning the new private sale. Shadam was already covered up in his robes and Selene put her cloak on to hide amongst the crowd. The stage lit up as Odalia stood in the front, with Luz, Alador and all the products stood behind her.
Odalia: Welcome back to Blight Industries. I know last time we had some...technical difficulties but I assure you will be impressed with what we got in store tonight.
Selene and Shadam saw Luz on the stage and whispered to each other throughout the show.
Selene: Wait Shadam do you see that? There's a human on the stage.
Shadam: Yes, that's the human that delayed the Emperor's plans and who gave Mikela and Voffa trouble on their selkidomus hunt.
Luz looked nervous being here and being the lab rat of the show.
Luz: So Alador, what would you say is the specialty of Blight Industries?
Alador: We make a variety of abomination based accesories for home security.
Luz: Oh that sounds pretty safe.
Alador: But we specialize on weaponry.
Luz: What?
Alador: Word of advice, you might want to duck.
Alador left and Luz is shot with sticky goo from launcher shot from Odalia.
Odalia: Yes our Sticky Launcher can easily subdue any foe. And if peaceful isn't your thing.
Odalia flipped the switch on it and shot out a green flamethrower, much to Luz's horror.
Meanwhile at Blight Manor.
Amity returned home but saw no one was ther.
Amity: Hello? Mom? I'm ready for the show tonight.
Amity saw a note near the fire place. It said
" We found a replacement. -Mom"
She saw the abomination butler behind her.
Amity: Did anybody come to the house today?
That's when she saw it's cat melted face and instantly knew it was Luz.
At the Owl House. Christa was in Luz's room. She was tiding up the room to make more presentable.
Christa: I hope Luz will like what I did. I feel like I should help with cleaning more.
Hooty comes to the window.
Hooty: CC! You have friends outside.
Christa made her way downstairs and opens the door. It was Amity, Willow and Gus.
Christa: Guys? What are you doing this late at night?
Amity: Luz is in trouble.
Gus: Again.
Later.
The four of them made it to the outside of Blight Industries. But it was guarded.
Christa: I can't believe Luz is doing this.
Willow: It's what she does, she does the craziest things to help others.
Gus: Okay we need a way in. What should we do?
Willow: I can use the roots underground to tunnel our way in.
Amity: That'll take too long, we should just rush the guards at the door.
Christa: We'll get caught instantly. Maybe theres a back door or a vent we can crawl into.
Gus: I know, I'll distract them with illusions of lady guards.
Willow: This isn't a cartoon from the 1940s Gus. We need a better plan.
Gus: Hey this could work you know.
Amity: We should just bust our way in.
Christa: We have to sneek our way in to pull this off.
The four of them argued amongst each other for a moment trying to make a plan.
Edric: Here's an idea. Just use the front door.
They turned and saw Edric and Emira handing them cloaks for disguise.
Amity: Ed, Em. You're helping?
Emira: Of course, Luz is our friend too you know. Just uh, don't tell mom.
The four of them put their cloaks on and made their way in. Not before Ed added " Hex me" notes on their backs only for Amity to notice and throw them back at him.
They entered the building and saw the crowd cheering as Luz was being used for target practice. She had plenty of glyphs with her to defend herself, but she looked tired and often had barely enough time to dodge.
Odalia: Thank you, thank you. Now, we're very excited to show you our last product from this line.
Luz: ( sighs) Thank goodness only one more.
Odalia: My husband has been toiling away to bring you...
The platform on the stage began to open as Luz quickly moved away. A new figure rose up, it was another abomination robot, similar to the first but it looked much bigger.
Odalia: The Abomiton 2.0!
The audience gasped with excitement while Amity looked concerned.
Shadam: Intersting. Looks durable.
Selene: Trust me I've seen the first one. It went down so easily by a child.
Christa: Amity what is that thing?
Amity: It's bad, for Luz at least. Come on!
Amity went up a ladder that went to the pipes in the ceiling, Christa followed her.
Willow: Amity, Christa wait!
Willow and Gus tried to follow, but hey got caught by abomination security guards.
Odalia: It's bigger. It's better. The Abomiton 2.0 is the perfect soldier.
Selene: Hmph, let's see Odalia. Let's see.
Odalia: It won't rest until it's enemy is completely eliminated.
Odalia stepped aside as the Abomiton 2.0 set it's attention to Luz and formed it's hands into weapons, one a wreaking spike ball and the other a claw.
Luz: Eep!
The Abomiton 2.0 attacked Luz as she dodged. She was about to get off the stage until it reached it' arm for her leg.
Luz: Uh okay, it's super strong. I think the crowd gets it you can stop now.
Alador: She has a point Odalia.
Odalia just gave Luz a evil look.
Odalia: Didn't you here me? It won't rest until it's enemy is completely eliminated.
The Abominto 2.0 pulled Luz back and threw her to the ceiling. She landed on the pipes that were up near the ceiling.
Luz: Okay, I think I'm safe up here.
But the Abomiton 2.0 jumped up to her.
Luz: Luz. You fool!
The Abomiton 2.0 continued to attack Luz. She used an ice glyph to shield herself and ran as it shattered the ice shield into pieces. She had part of an ice pick that looked like a sword and tried defending herself, but the Abomiton 2.0 knocked it off her hand. Luz kept running as it tried to attack her again, destroying the pipes around.
Alador: Um Odalia I really think this is unnecessary. She's gonna get killed.
Odalia: Shut it Alador!
Alador: Sorry.
Odalia: We have to give the audience what they want. That's buisness and I know Selene is here.
Luz got a plant glyph and formed a vine to wrap around a pipe further up and swung aorund it, she then got a fire glyph ready and was about to throw it at it's face until it's arm was about to shoot a laser projectile, blowing up the ceiling as the two fell, destroying the stage and the audience stepping back. Luz was hanging on the vine to not fall, only to realize she was just a couple feet off the ground and lets go, the Abomiton 2.0 on the ground.
Luz: Hey I'm alive!
But then the Abomiton 2.0 got up, still functioning and formed it's arm into a pick axe.
Luz: I'm so dead!
The Abomiton 2.0 was about to strike her down, but then it stopped. It looked like it was stopped from some force and then it's arms bursted and fell back.
Amity: Hey!
Luz looked up and saw Amity with Christa behind her.
Amity: Stay away from my Luz!
Luz: Amity?
Shadam: That's the youngest Blight child.
Selene: See her more as Odalia's pawn. ( silent chuckles) This is getting interesting.
Amity grabbed one of the loose cables and slid down and stood in front of Luz against the Abomiton 2.0.
Christa: Hold guys I'm coming.
Christa tried to do the same, but the cable broke and she fell down to the floor onto her face.
Christa: Ow...my face. Again.
Odalia contacted Amity again with her necklace.
Odalia: Amity Blight! You are in so much...
But Amity took her necklace and crushed it, much to Odalia's shock.
Alador: Oh, now that was interesting.
Odalia: Shut it Alador!
Alador: Sorry.
Amity: Luz, are you okay?
Luz: ( blushes) Uh huh. ( gasps) Look out!
The Abomiton 2.0 got back up ready to attack again. Amity using her powers tried to keep it down. But she couldn't hold it forever.
Odalia: Amity, step away from the human.
Amity: No! You going to listen to me for once. Luz, Willow and Gus are my friends. They're nice to each other. They listen to each other. They make me think of the kind of person I want to be.
Odalia: You and I both know you can't handle it own your own. Step away now.
Amity: Not until you let my friends back into school.
Odalia: Never!
Christa got back up and saw what was happening. She first saw Luz and Amity fending off the Abomiton 2.0 and then turned to Odalia glaring at them.
Odalia: You can keep defending her all you want, but I will have you know I will not shut it off.
Christa heard what Odalia said. She formed an angry look and confronted her.
Christa: What are you doing? That's your daugher out there.
Odalia: Who are you? Another friend of hers?
Christa: Yes I am. They're gonna die out there if you don't stop this.
Odalia: I'm not going to let anything stop this show. Nothing, even if it involves endangering them.
Alador: Odalia I really think...
Odalia: Shut it Alador and you step aside now!
Christa unable to change Odalia's mind ran to help Amity and Luz. Amity couldn't hold on any longer and fell to her knees. Luz tried to help her up as the Abomiton 2.0 got back up and formed it's hand into a hammer, about to crush them both.
Christa: Luz! Amity! NO!
Christa's gem began to glow along with her eyes. She stepped infront of the Abomiton 2.0.
Christa: Leave them alone!
Christa let out a white aura from her body as he hair flew up. From one of her hands was vines and the other water, wrapping around the Abomiton 2.0. The Abomiton tried to break free, but then Christa put he foot down, causing the ground to erupt around it closing it in. Constricting it and slowly crushing it. Luz and Amity's eyes widened seeing this.
Amity: Is this Christa's power?
Luz: At her max. I saw her once do this, but look at the ground. I think she can control Earth.
Amity: I've never heard of that.
Selene and Shadam were focused on Christa.
Selene: That's her. That's the girl Mikela and Voffa had trouble with.
Shadam: Look at her power though. Selene, if you recalled from their description she was able to do ice and fire magic. But here she is doing plant, water and earth, an element that the construction coven is known for and that aura. That's so much for a girl of her age, but who knows what else she is capable of. If she was to keep going, she could be more powerful than a coven head or the Emperor himself. This is no ordinary witch. I don't know exactly what she is, but it concerns me and I can now see why it concerns the Emperor too. Her use of wild magic is intense. We must report this to him.
Selene: Not yet, not until this is over.
Christa continued to crush the Abomiton 2.0 as the audience was booing and Odalia was losing sales.
Odalia: Amity, tell her to stop. We can't afford another loss.
Amity: Not until you let my friends into Hexside. Unless you want her to crush this thing into pieces.
Odalia: Fine, it's a deal. Just tell her to stop with theatrics.
Amity went to Christa and placed her hand onto her shoulder.
Amity: Christa, let it go.
Christa: What?
Amity: We got what we wanted. There's no need to finish it.
Christa: No, you can't just...
Luz: Listen to her Christa. It's okay, we won.
Christa looked at her friends did what they said. Her aura disappeard and gem and eyes dimmed down. The vines and water disappeared around the Abomiton 2.0 and the ground rested back. It raised it's hammer hand at them as the three girls huddled together and then were crushed by the hammer. However the hammer was hallow in the inside and the girls were unharmed and played dead. The Abomiton 2.0 finally shuts down, doing what it was programmed to do. The audience cheered and Willow and Gus were finally free to check on their friends. Odalia however didn't look happy.
Odalia: As if I would actually let them go back. I will call every authority I know. I will make sure...
Alador: Odalia! That's enough! You made a deal with your daughter and the human. A Blight always upholds their end of the deal. Besides, she's growing stronger. Strong enough to maybe be a coven head someday.
Odalia watched as Willow and Gus helped Luz, Amity and Christa up.
Odalia: Fine, you win this round Mittens.
Shadam and Selene also watched them get up.
Selene: Should we get her?
Shadam: Not yet, we must report to the Emperor first. About her and the show.
Shadam left as Selene waited a moment. She looked at Odalia and smirked then leaving the building.
Outside of Blight Industries.
The Luz and her friends were leaving the area.
Luz: I'm really sorry I worried you guys. But I was serious when I said I would do what I can to get us back in.
Willow: We know and thankful. Just...please tell us what you're doing before acting.
Luz: Will do. Amity, I'm impressed. You really stood up to her.
Amity: Yeah I know. But Christa you really...
They saw Christa a bit far from them. She was facing away from them and looking down.
Luz: Hey are you okay?
Christa: No.
Luz: What's wrong, we're back into Hexside.
Amity: And you really helped Christa. I couldn't have pulled this off without your help.
Christa: I know but...Amity I'm not going to lie you're mom is just terrible.
Amity: I know she is. That's how she's always been.
Christa: She doesn't respect you though, why didn't you let me destroy that thing?
Amity: As much as I would have let you, I still live with them and we still need money to put food and the table and pay for the house. But don't worry about me. I'm not afraid of her anymore. I'm not going to let her boss me around or make me break ties with anyone anymore.
Christa: Well, I'm glad to see you so confident and I hope you mean it.
They saw tears forming in Christa's eyes.
Luz: Christa is there something else bothering you?
Christa: It's just, what if my mom is like that?
Luz: What no?
Amity: Christa I don't think she's like mine. She has to be way better.
Christa: You don't know that, neither do I. All I know is that she put me in that pod. But why though. What if she put me in the pod because she didn't want me?
Willow: Christa you shouldn't think that way.
Gus: No one that heartless would do that. Okay maybe some, but...
Amity: Christa, I doubt she would do that.
Luz: Christa, I wish I can have a definite answer but I don't. We don't know why your mom put you in the pod, but the only thing we can do now is just hope that we find her soon and hope she had a good reason. Maybe to protect you.
Christa: I hope...
Luz: And we're here for you.
Amity: We got your back.
Willow: You are part of our group now.
Gus: Yeah you are.
Christa: ( giving a small smile) Thanks guys.
Luz: Well I better get back. I have a lot of explaining to do with Eda. I'll see you guys tomorrow and Amity.
Amity: Yeah.
Luz: Thanks again for saving me.
Amity: Of course, anything for you Luz.
The two looked at each other for a moment and then blushed walking their own paths.
Back inside Bligh Industries. The room was being cleaned up as Alador was fixing up the Abomiton 2.0.
Odalia: You know despite the spectacle, this was quite the succesful night. Excellent work on the 2.0 dear.
Golden Guard: Yes, your Abomitons are quite extrordinary. Too bad no one will be receiving them.
Odalia and Alador kneeled to Golden Guard upon entering. Accompaning him were Selene and Shadam.
Golden Guard: The Emperor will be buying everyone of your Abomitons and will be funding research to make them stronger.
Odalia: That's, that's great news. We're honored to help and...
Golden Guard: You should be. Emperor Belos doesn't take kindly to citezens making a private army. We'll stop by again tomorrow to discuss the price.
The Golden Guard and Shadam left while Selene remained behind.
Selene: You might not have noticed, but I witnessed the whole thing.
Odalia: You did, did you? Told you I would have something impressive.
Selene: You did. But you know what's not impressive, you being bested by a child.
Odalia: ( groans) Amity can be difficult.
Selene: I wasn't referring to your daughter, though I still can't believe you lost to her. I was refering to the girl that nearly destroyed your creation.
Odalia: Oh her. I have no idea who she is. I'm not sure if she goes to Hexside.
Selene: But was powerful. And I saw what she did. She could have destroyed that thing. And just imagine. Blight Industries losing another sale. Then it would happen again and again until you go out of buisness. Was hoping to see that, but I guess we can't get everything.
Odalia: No we can't. But the Emperor is interested with our work. I told you I would show you one day.
Selene: He may seem interested for now, but you will not like him when he's upset. So word of advice Odalia, do not fail him, like how you failed before and you're parents when they disowned you.
Odalia glared at her wanted to punch her, but Alador held her back.
Selene: Don't even try to attack me. You could get into so much trouble assaulting a member of the Legion of Five. See you around Odalia.
Selene chuckled leaving as Odalia just watched her leave in anger.
Meanwhile at Emperor Belos Castle.
Emperor Belos himself was at lowest level of the castle, in the room where the giant red eyed entity was.
Emperor Belos: Master, I have recieved an update on the girl. My subjects caught her in action. Her powers are slowly rising. I'm starting to think that she is a survivor.
The entity spoke with a demonic voice
Entity: She must be watched Belos. If she is who we think is true and has it with her, you must stop her from reaching her full potential. Nothing can stop my plans again.
Emperor Belos: We will keep watch of her just to make sure. Everything will go according to plan Master. I promise you.
Entity: You better, you will not fail me again Belos.

Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter. I know it was probably nothing special, but I thought it was still important to recreate the episode. I do have plans for another major chapter for Odalia and Alador. I think every other chapter I make will be a retelling of the season 2 episodes, up to "Yesterday's Lie" though I have a lot to think about regarding Vee, Camille and the promise she had Luz make. So as you all know, the first half of season 2 is done and this series will be on hiatus for a while. So far the season was great. I loved every episode and I'm so happy Luz and Amity officially got together and it wasn't last minute. Actually I'm thinking when I do bring them together I do like the show or do something different. Now I'm sure most of us are bummed out for the hiatus, me a little, but I think I can handle it. I think Steven Universe had it worse with hiatuses and not every episode met it potential. Don't worry I'll still continue this and I at least got the manditory plot and character arc information I needed regarding with King, Eda, Amity, Hunter and the the first human Phillip, but once I get past the retelling episodes, the rest is going to be from me and will be making up the story on my own. When season 2 does return but the lore is different from mine, just see it as it's own version or continuity. Alright? Okay, oh one more thing, I went back to chapter 2 and added a little extra dialoug seeing I made a mistake as I'm writing through. I apologize for it and will try not to do it again.
