Chapter 11: Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances
At Emperor Belos Castle.
The Legion of Five were in their lounging room when Kikimora enters wanting an update on their mission. They lined up to her.
Kikimora: Have you found anything about the resistance yet?
Selene: None as of yet Kikimora.
Kikimora: Really? How is it the five most powerful witches of this coven have no results on the one mission they are supposed to fulfill?
Shadam: I would have found them instantly, but something is blocking my oracle visions. They're doing everything they can to cover their tracks.
Kikimora: That maybe so, but the Emperor is expecting results from you all. And absolutly no side tracks. Especially you Voffa.
Voffa: Uh...what?
Kikimora: I heard the other day you went hunting for the Owl Lady and the human with her.
Voffa: I...I wasn't trying. I was only meeting an old student of mine and the uh...the Owl Lady happened to be there and then the human oh and that girl showed up.
Kikimora: The girl Emperor Belos is concerned about? Any updates with her?
Voffa: She hasn't done anything crazy last time I saw her. I didn't even get a chance to fight her, I was too busy with the traitor Lilith.
Selene: ( raising an eybrow) Lilith was there?
Kikimora: Well that's not much news. But I shouldn't set all attention onto you. I've heard rumors that one of you have been sneaking out doing illegal selling.
Mikela: I assure you none of us have been doing that.
Satarakura: Yup, no definitly!
Everyone looked at Satarakura who looked a bit nervous.
Satarakura: Welp anyway, lets call it a night now yeah Kiki?
Satarkura approaches Kikimora giving her a pat on the back.
Kikimora: Ugh, fine. We'll discuss this further tomorrow.
Kikimora leaves not knowing Satarakura placed a paper on her back that said " Kick me", he snickered a bit hoping someone would see that.
Selene: Voffa, you said you encountered Lilith?
Voffa: I did. She may of lost her natural magic, but she's still skilled using glyphs.
Selene: Is that right. Well I will see that for myself.
Shadam: Selene Crimson. We know how you feel with Lilith, but you heard what Kikimora said and what the Emperor told us. They are not our primary targest as of now and unless they interfere with us do we attack them.
Selene: Oh, but what of the girl he's so worried about?
Shadam: She is mysterious, but he has not yet given us the approval to attack, only to observe. See how much her power improves.
Mikela: Right, our poor Emperor has so much on his plate right now. It is our responsibility, especially I Mikela to help my Emperor succede.
Voffa: You're not exactly that special brother.
Shadam: But I'm a bit confused on one thing, who's been sneaking out doing illegal activities?
Selene: You know it's not me.
Mikela: Not me.
Voffa: Other than my last hassle no.
Satarakura: ( nervous) What are you looking at me for!? I didn't do nothing!
Everyone looks at Satarakura akwardly.
Selene: We weren't Satarakura.
Satarakura: You weren't? Guess I was thinking of something else. BAHAHAAHAHA!
Suddenly he heard a beeping sound. He looked down at his wrist watch.
Satarakura: Well I gotta go.
Selene: Where are you going?
Satarakura: My uh...dentist.
Mikela: Your dentist works at night?
Satarakura: Yeah he says that's where cavities happen. Have a goodnight commrades!
Satarakura jumps up and his body flashes, disappearing. Everyone else stands there confused.
Mikela: I really don't understand him sometimes.
Voffa: Me neither.
The next day.
At the Owl House, Luz was in the living room, but was asleep. Around her were piles of books. Latley she's been trying to find a way back home ever since she destroyed the portal which was going to be used by Emperor Belos. King got onto the couch and got close to her face.
King: Luz. Luz. Wake up Luz.
King shook Luz but wouldn't wake up. But deciding to pull a joke on her, he got a brown paper bag, blew in to inflate it and popped it making a loud noise. Luz woke up, jumping off the couch screaming. King laughed at her reaction.
Luz: AAAH! What...King what was that for?
King: Sorry, but you were supposed to tuck me in last night and read me a bedtime story. So I thought it would be funny to prank you like those videos you show me.
Luz: Okay well you got me good.
King: What is all this?
Luz: I spent all night trying to find out about making a portal or ways to travel to the human realm but...
Luz then smelled something burning.
Luz: Is something burning?
They heard a fire alarm from the kitchen. The two ran over and saw the kitchen a mess and standing by the stove was Christa with a spatula and pan with black smoke coming up
Luz: Christa?
Christa: Morning Luz, I was up early and though I'd make you guys breakfast. I'm making omlettes.
Luz: Do you even know how to make an omlette?
Christa: No but that's what learning is all about right?
King: No not really.
Christa: Okay almost done. Come sit down.
Luz and King took a seat at the table. Christa handed them each their own plate of her omlettes. But it looked all black and it looked like there were still egg shells in it.
Christa: Go ahead, eat up.
Luz and King each took a bite of their omlette. They're eyes widened as it tasted even worse than expected. Not only was it burnt, there were eggshells in it and was really salty. But they didn't want to hurt Christa's feelings knowing she's a bit sensitive.
Christa: So what do you think?
Luz: Hmm, it's uh...it's delicious. You can really taste the egg shells.
Then they noticed King who was tearing up.
Christa: Aww King what's wrong?
King: ( sniffs) Oh nothing, these are uh... tears of joy. It's so good I'm tearing up. ( whispers to Luz) This is so terrible.
Luz: ( whispers) Just do it for her King.
Christa: Oh you guys. Let me get you something to drink...AH!
Christa tripped realzing her shoes are untied.
Christa: Oh better tie my shoes.
Christa tied her shoes and the direction she was facing was away from Luz and King.
Luz: ( whispers) Pssst, Hooty come here quick!
Hooty enters the kitchen as Luz and King quickly had him eat their omlettes. Hooty seemed to not mind the taste and swollowed them down easy. Hooty leaves just in time as Christa gets back up and notices the empty plates.
Christa: Finished already?
Luz: Yup licked the plate clean. Thank you for breakfast Christa.
King: Yup thank you, but don't ever cook for us again.
Luz elbows King.
King: Ow.
Christa: Oh King you're such a jokster, of course I'll keep cooking for you.
Luz: Okay I think we should really clean this place up before Eda comes and...
But then Eda comes down.
Eda: Morning everybody.
Christa: Oh Eda, I'm sorry for the mess. I'll clean it up.
Eda: What mess? I don't see a mess. I can't even see anything messy anymore ever since things have going good. At least with me.
Eda goes to the fridge to get some apple blood.
Eda: Ugh dang, no apple blood. Remind me to go the store later.
Eda leaves the kitchen.
King: Is it me or has Eda been awfully happy lately.
Luz: Well she just started a new relationship with Archimedes.
Christa: It's love in the air.
Then they heard Lilith scream. The four of them went to the living room and saw Lilith on the floor as her arm was starting to transform and form feathers. Eda quickly got an elixer out that was under a pillow and helped Lilith up.
Eda: Just calm down. The curse acts stronger when you're stressed.
Eda has Lilith drink the elixer getting her curse stabalized again and the feathers go away.
Eda: There, is that better?
Lilith: That was...horrible. How did you manage all these years?
Eda: It's been hard, but ever since we split the curse the elixirs work again.
Lilith: That's a relief.
But then Lilith notices her hand is missing as everyone ( except Eda) freaks out.
Eda: Oh yeah, I might have forgot to mention the side effect of the curse. It's actually pretty fun once in a while. But don't worry, I stashed elixirs all over the house. If you're ever feeling feathery, just take one of these bad boys.
Lilith: ( frowns) I had no idea this is what I did to you. I am so, so sorry.
Eda: Eh, what's done is done you know and I got company now. And you got me if you need anything.
Lilith: ( giving a small smile) Thank you Edalyn.
Eda: Of course Lily, you're still my sister after all.
Eda walks outside as Luz, Christa and King follow her.
Luz: Wait Eda, It never occured to me to ask but how did you make your portal?
Eda: I never made it.
Luz: What?
Eda: I just found it a long time ago. It was really old.
Luz: So...you don't know anything about getting back to the human world?
Eda: Wish I could help more.
Christa: Human world?
Luz: Christa you remember I told you I come from another world.
Christa: Yeah, you told me you came from there, but you lost the portal.
Luz: Ever since then, I've been trying to find information about making a portal or ways to travel to the human realm, but I can't find anything on it.
Eda: You could have asked Archimedes.
Luz: I didn't want to overwhelm him with so much. Where did you find your portal again Eda?
Eda: I just found it in the dirt. I never bothered to think who made it or where it came from. I just kept it to myself.
Luz: Why would you tell anyone?
Eda: What you suddenly interested about my past?
Luz: Always. Always curious.
Eda: Well I may have been using it to hide from someone.
Christa: Archimedes?
Eda: No it wasn't him, well partly at the time until he found and helped me out, but someone else.
Luz: Who then?
?: Yoo hoo! Eda!
They looked up and saw some from high up, another witch. She landed in front of the house. This witch was 5 ft tall with a very petite build. She silver hair tied in a french braid. Her eyes were a sapphire color and wore thin glasses. Her skin had a honey milk color to it and wore a simple blue dress and boots. She got off her staff and her palisman was a hummingbird and she was holding a bag with her.
?: Eda!
Eda: Matti?
Lilith hears her and peaks through the window.
Lilith: Matti?
Matti: Lily!
Lilith quickly exited the house and ran over to this Matti as did Eda hugging her. They looked so happy to see each other.
Matti: I don't believe it, my two besties are here!
Eda: Missed you a lot sister. You look so amazing.
Matti: Aw Eda I missed you too. I've been worried about you. I heard about the petrification ceramony and...
Eda: I know. It's been a bit crazy for me lately but I'm okay.
Lilith: Matti it's so good to see you again.
Matti: It's so good to see you Lily. I guess it's true you're not part of the Emperor's Coven anymore. Are you okay?
Lilith: I am, I've been laying low here ever since.
Matti: Glad I found you here. I was afraid they'd come after you went rouge.
Lilith: I've been alright and I'm glad you're here.
Matti: Hey I just wanted to drop by to see my favorite people.
The three kept talking as Luz and Christa looked confused.
Luz: Another friend of Eda and Lilith. King who...
King and Hooty: Matti!
King and Hooty also ran over to this Matti and she looked happy to see them as well.
Hooty: Oh boy Matti! I haven't seen you in like forever and ever.
Matti: Oh I'm sorry I made you wait for me Hooty. Here.
Matti looks into her bag and pulls out a small pouch.
Matti: I got you you're favorite treats.
Hooty: ( gasps) Owl snack cookies!
Matti takes a cookie out and feeds Hooty one and scratching his head.
Hooty: Hmm, you can really taste night crawlers and crickets. Thank's Matti.
Matti: You're very welcome Hooty.
Hooty takes the bag and she sets her attention on King, noticing he was tapping on her leg.
King: Nyeh, don't forget me.
Matti: Oh how could I forget you?
Matti picks up King, holding him with one hand and tickiling him with the other.
Matti: How's my little King of Demons doing?
King: Hehehe, stop! Fine, but actually I'm not really a king.
Eda: He uh...found out recently of where I found him.
Matti: Oh really, I'm sorry but...
She reacehd down her bag and got out a stuffed elephant plush.
Matti: I got you this to add to your army.
King: Oh I still take it. It's a collection now and Francois needs a new friend. Thank you Matti you're so awesome!
Matti: ( giggles) You're welcome.
Luz and Christa still watched in confusion.
Luz: Wow even King and Hooty knows her.
Eda: Oh pffft, how rude of us. Luz, Christa this is Mathilda Lightwing.
Lilith: She's been our friend since childhood.
Mathilda: Call me Matti. Everyone does.
She approached Luz and Christa.
Mathilda: You're a human aren't you?
Luz: I am, I'm Luz it's nice to...oh!
Mathilda pulled her into a hug.
Mathilda: I've heard of you. You saved Eda during the petrification ceramomy. I should thank you.
Luz: Oh it was no biggy really. Okay it kinda was a biggy but you get what I mean.
Mathilda lets go of Luz and goes to Christa.
Mathilda: And who is this dazzling witch here?
Christa: I'm Christa.
Mathilda: Hey there, oh I love that emerald on your forhead and that hair.
Christa: Thanks, I love the color of your hair as well.
Mathilda: ( hugging her) Oh come here. I like this one. Eda you didn't tell me you adopted some kids.
Eda: What, no, no, they're not my kids. I mean well, Luz is trying to find a way back to her world and we're trying to help Chrissy find her home.
Mathilda: Oh, is Eda treating you two good?
Christa: She is.
Luz: And she's been teaching me about magic.
Eda: Well now she's been teaching me ever since I lost my magic.
Mathilda: Oh, the student has become the master huh?
Eda: What, nah.
Luz: ( scratching the back of her head) I wouldn't call myself a master.
Mathilda chuckled and set her attentions back on Eda.
Mathilda: Anyway, I came by to check on you. Are your potions still working?
Eda: They are.
Mathilda: No adjustments or special remedies needed?
Eda: Trust me we're good.
Mathilda: Just wanted to make sure. Also she'll be here soon.
Eda's face turned to annoyed look.
Eda: Ah geez not again. I'm going inside, pretend I'm not home.
Mathilda: Eda come on. You know we're trying to help.
Eda: I know you are. You're doing your best but I know it's hard. It's her who I can't stand.
Mathilda: But she's your mother.
Luz, Christa and Lilith: Mother?!
Then wind started to blow and appearing before them was a mini tornado with a hawk on top.
Luz: Magic bird tornado?
Christa: No, a birdnado!
But then it began to stop as tornado revealed a new figure. She was an elderly witch with pale skin, glasses and wearing a purple dress. The hawk was revealed to be her palisman.
?: Hello little witchlette. Come here.
The old witch approached Eda to hug her, but Eda wouldn't allow her.
Eda: Gwendolyn.
Gwen: Oh are we still on that. I'm your mother. Call me Mom. It is so good to see you again. How are you feeling? Are you eating well? I heard all about the petrification ceramony. Trust me I have a lot of strong words for that Emperor Belos.
Lilith quickly ran up to her mom.
Lilith: Mother! ( ahem) I mean mother, you know I was there too.
Gwen: Oh hello to you too Sweet Flea. Oh I see you're still dyeing your hair, it's very sleak. Now give me a moment with Edalyn dear it's very important.
Lilith frowns as she steps aside. Her mom never paid any attention to her.
Gwen: Anyway I have some special news for you.
Eda: What, that you're finally going to live in a retirement home?
Mathilda: Eda!
Gwen: Ho,ho, very funny Edalyn. But no, Matti and I are about to complete a 30 year mission.
Eda: Oh no.
Mathilda: Um Gwendolyn...
Gwen: We have finally succeded...
Eda: Here it comes.
Gwen: Today is the day that we finally cure you of you're curse!
Eda: No thanks.
Luz, Christa and Lilith: WHAT?!
Eda: I got my elixer system. I'm good.
Gwen: But who know's what they put in those things.
Eda: I do and so does Archimedes. Oh would you look at the time.
Eda puts her mom back on her staff.
Eda: I got a lot to do today and I'd hate to see you go, but it's been fun. BYYYYEEEE!
Eda sends her mom flying away.
Eda: Moms. Am I right?
Luz, Christa and Lilith just stare at her with their mouths open.
Eda: What?
Lilith: Are you kidding me? I haven't seen mother in like...forever! And she was handing you a cure in a silver platter.
Luz: I'd kill to see my mom right now and you just launched yours into the sky?
Christa: I can't even remember what my mom is like!
Eda: Oh listen, she comes around every year saying she has a new cure for my curse, but they never work.
Lilith: Mother visits you regularly?
Mathilda: But Eda you know she's trying.
Eda: Matti your her apprentice, is she serious this time?
Mathilda: Well...I don't want to get your hopes up. She says she does for real this time, but she hasn't told me what it was yet.
Luz: You're her apprentice?
Mathilda: Yes. I am part of the Healers Coven. I've known Eda and Lilith since we were like babies. We grew up together, they're like my sisters. When she got cursed, I wanted to help but no resources I could find were able to cure her curse. Her mom approached me with the same goal and so she took me as her apprentice as we tried to find a cure. Though past years Gwendolyn has been a bit...desperate now and when she thinks she's found something, she won't listen to my thoughts saying she knows best.
Eda: Matti has been checking on me also to make sure I'm okay or need anything extra or special remedies. She's a real healer, if she knows what my mom has won't work, I believe her. Matti you said you're not sure, I'm taking your word for it.
Lilith: Matti since you're here, would you like to catch up a little?
Mathilda: I can stay for a bit. I know Gwendolyn is gonna come back for me.
Eda and Lilith takes Matti inside while Luz and Christa stayed outside. They looked and saw Gwen land and ran up to her.
Luz: Excuse me, Mrs. Clawthorne! Hi I'm Luz, Eda's apprentice.
Christa: And I'm Christa, Eda's little helper.
Luz: We just wanted to say what you're doing is so sweet. Eda can be so...Eda sometimes.
Gwen: Call me Gwen dearies, but please don't blame Edalyn. It was the curse the caused the rift between us.
Luz: I understand. Right now there is an actual drift with me and my mom in the human realm.
Gwen: Human realm you say? Hmmm. My dear I think I know how we can fix both our rifts.
Luz: Really?
Gwen: I've heard of some information that might assist you on your quest. Tell you what, help me cure Eda's curse and I'll tell you.
Luz: Yes, yes, yes! Where do we start?
Gwen: Oh ho, excited are we. Hold on let me just get my apprentice.
Inside the house.
Eda, Lilith and Mathilda sat together on the couch talking.
Mathilda: You sure you're good right now?
Eda: Trust me, I'm stocked up with elixer. We're fine.
Mathilda: That's good. Oh so Eda, have you been checking with Archimedes lately?
Eda: ( blushing) Actually just recently we met each other face to face after so long. Uh let's just say we caught a bit, uh some drama might have happened involving Thomas...
Mathilda: That jerk from school?
Eda: Yeah, put me on a love spell.
Mathilda: ( gasps) How dare he? I mean seriously I will give him a piece of my mind.
Eda: Oh trust me I already did. But Archy helped me out and uh...
Eda's face was turning red.
Mathilda: What?
Eda: Well...some things were shared and...
Lilith: They just started dating.
Eda: Lily!
Lilith: Now you know how it feels.
Mathilda's eye's widened looking happy.
Mathilda: No way, you two are finally together!
Mathilda pulled Eda into a hug.
Mathilda: I'm so happy for you!
Eda: Yeah I mean I am too and...wait finally? You mean to tell me you knew he had a crush on me?
Mathilda: Yeah, I could tell the way he acted whenever he was around you. I kept telling him to go for it, but he was just too shy.
Eda: Well he wasn't the only one. I did have feelings for him too after our Grom night. I was shy too, but ( frowns)...after I was cursed and what I did to him I pushed him away to keep him safe. But he still came back for me and helped me.
Mathilda: It's so sweet of what he did. I remember after he was released from the hospital and couldn't find you , he came to me for help about your curse. But this was something out of our knowledge and I'm still searching everything I can for it. I'm so sorry this happened to you and that I still have no results.
Eda: Hey don't worry. I know you're trying but I've been used to it for years now.
Lilith looked at Matti with a sad look. Eda hasn't metioned about who exactly cursed her, but it might be because she rather have Lilith herself tell her or she didn't want to throw her under the bus like that. Lilith had to tell her herself, but was a bit nervous.
Lilith: Um...Matti, so tell us. Have you found a suitor for you yet?
Mathilda: No not really. I haven't dated ever since our time at Hexside.
Eda: Ah yeah I remember. That jerk only dated you just so you could he could get a passing grade in class. He was almost as bad as Thomas. But we got him back, didn't we Lily?
Lilith: ( chuckles) Yes, we cursed him into a daisy and planted him outside where the insects kept stinging him.
The three laughed at that memory.
Eda: Not everyone can date Matti, only the best kind of person can date her.
Mathilda: Oh you guys.
Then they heard Gwen calling her from outside.
Gwen: Matti, come we must go!
Mathilda: ( sighs) Sorry guys, but I gotta go now. Gotta check to see what she's planning next.
Eda: Eh I gotta head out too. I need to get some more apple blood.
Mathilda: But I'll be back later, we can talk more. Especially with you Lily.
Mathilda hurried outside and met up with Gwen, Luz and Christa.
Mathilda: Luz, Christa. You'll be joining us?
Luz: Hey if this will help Eda, I want to help.
Mathilda: Well, let's not get our hopes up just yet.
Christa: So what are we gonna do now?
Gwen: We'll be consulting with...someone special.
Later
The four of them were making their way through the woods.
Christa: So we're going to meet a curse expert? This is so rad.
Mathilda: And you say this expert can remove the curse?
Gwen: Yes, with the lack of progress we've been making and no other healers know anything about it, I finally found someone who promised me a cure.
Mathilda: And why haven't you told me about his guy?
Gwen: I just wanted to make sure everything was set. I had to fulfill some tasks for him in order to prove I'm worthy.
Mathilda: Right, I guess we'll see.
Gwen: Ah, here we are.
They stumble across a rock wall. Gwen approaches the wall, holding her necklace with a strange symbol on it to the wall. The wall then formed that symbol and opened up. They entered inside the cave which was full of crystals and candles lit all around. In the center platform was an old witch with dark blue skin, gray robes and wizard hat, long pointed ears and four arms. He also wore a necklace of beads and held a staff. His eyes were nearly closed, had a long mustache and beard and a gem on his forehead.
Old witch: Welcome back Gwendolyn.
Gwen: Thank you Master Wortlop.
Luz: That's him?
Gwen: This is Master Wortlop. He's a traveling curse expert who's perfected next level healing magic.
Wortlop: My pupil, your aura is shining bright.
Gwen: It took many months but I was able to gather the sacred items you requested.
Gwen reached into her bag and took out the items for him.
Gwen: The copper egg from the snowy ribcage. The silver dagger from the swampy toes and the golden chalice from the desert of Palm Stings.
Wortlop: You're a devoted mother I see.
Before anything else could happen, Mathilda approached him.
Mathilda: Excuse me, Mr Wortlop. Hi, I'm Mathilda Lightwing from the Healers Coven. Where exactly did you say you were from?
Wortlop: Oh well a...uh farther than anyplace you ever been.
Mathilda: Mmmm-hmmm yeah and why exactly have I not heard of you before?
Gwen: Oh Mathilda come now, not every witch knows everyone.
Mathilda: No, but I know every healer in the coven because I spoke to everyone I know about curses and none of them have answers. So where were you then?
Wortlop: I travel all around the Demon Realm, offering my knowledge and wisdom all around.
Mathilda: Yeah, so tell me if you have this knowledge of advanced healing, why haven't this been shared with the other healers yet?
Gwen: Mathilda hush now, you're being rude.
Mathilda: I'm just asking Gwendolyn because this pretty suspicious don't you think?
Gwen: Master Wortlop only shares his knowledge to those who are worthy.
Wortlop: That's right and Gwendolyn allow me to present to you.
He got out a book and handed it to her.
Wortlop: Inside this book is the healing abilities you seek. But keep it away from the eyes of the none believers, for they will be blinded by the power it holds.
Mathilda: ( squinting her eyes at him) Blind the none believers? Really?
Gwen: I understand. I am in your debt Master Wortlop.
Gwen leaves as Luz and Christa follows her. Mathilda was about to leave as well but not before gving him a suspicious look and leaves with them.
Wortlop: Phew. Thought she'd never leave. That was a close one.
His body began to glow and turns into Satarakura in disguise.
Satarakura: Too close. That annoying, but cute witch really dug into me there. Good thing Gwenny is stupid enough to listen to me.
He went down and collected his treasure.
Satarakura: Hehehehe. This is great. I disguise my self as an all knowing witch, make up some mumbo jumbo and sell that knowlege to some suckers. This is the best get rich quick scheme I made during my times away from the castle. BAHAHAHAAHAHA!
But then he frowns.
Satarakura: But now that I'm back, I don't think Kikimora, the Golden Guard or even Emperor Belos would approve of this. But I'm sure it's not enough to get me petrified. ( gulp) I hope.
Meanwhile.
The group were making their way back to the house. Gwen held onto the book as Luz, Christa and Mathilda looked at it.
Gwen: This is great. Soon Edalyn will finally be free from that dreaded curse.
Luz: I really hopes this works. I too wanted to find a way to cure her for a while.
Mathilda: I don't know, I don't trust that guy.
Gwen: Come now Matti, don't tell me you're jealous that Master Wortlop knows more than you?
Mathilda: No, I'm suspicous of who he is. Let me see that book.
Gwen: No, you heard him. Non believers will be blinded.
Mathilda: That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. There's no book that can do that. The only thing that can do something like that, would have to be Lost Ark. Let me see the book.
Gwen: I can't let you do that. It can't be viewed by non believers.
Mathilda: Are you seriously going to believe what he says and not me, your apprentice?
Gwen: Matti please it's not like that. You've done great helping me, you really have. But we need to find outside help and I think I finally found it. Don't you want to do this for Edalyn?
Mathilda: Of course I do but...
Gwen gives her a pleading look.
Mathilda: ( sighs) Okay fine, we'll try it your way, but if things go south, I'm taking control.
Gwen: Fair enough.
Soon they were getting close to the house. Lilith saw through the window and saw them coming. She exited out to house.
Lilith: Mother! Welcome back. I apologize for Edalyn's behavior of kicking you out.
Gwen: Oh no worries Sweet Flea, now where's your sister? I have a curse to remove.
Lilith: Oh she just left to get some more apple blood. But in the meantime perhaps we could talk and...
Gwen: Maybe later dearie, right now I need to set up the healing ritual.
Lilith frowned hearing her mom didn't want to talk to her now. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder, she turned and saw Mathilda giving her a smile.
Mathilda: You want to go inside and play a game?
Lilith gave her a small smile and nodded.
Mathilda: I'll be inside, whatever you do don't start without me.
Gwen: Alright Matti, run along.
Mathilda and Lilith went inside.
Gwen: Now then Luz, Christa I need you to make a few signs.
Luz and Christa: Signs?
Gwen: It's part of the plan don't worry.
Christa: But didn't Mathilda say not to start without her?
Gwen: Don't worry I know what I'm doing.
Luz: Hmmm, I don't know. My heart is saying to go with it, but my brain is saying no.
Christa: Me too. What do we do?
Gwen: They always say follow your heart.
Luz: That's all I needed to hear!
Christa: Me too!
A little while later.
Luz and Christa just finished making the signs Gwen asked for. The first sign was a pointing away from the house and said " Free Apple Blood that way." Others would say things like " This way" " That way" or " Almost there."
Christa: Okay I think we're done.
Gwen returns.
Gwen: Have you two finished?
Luz: Yeah we did as you said.
Gwen: Good, after reviewing Wortlop's book I've set up the ritual. Let's put these up and follow me. Edalyn should be here soon.
The girls did as they she said as they set up the signs.
Later.
Eda finally came back from town, but with no apple blood.
Eda: Ugh, can't believe they're out of stock till next week. How am I supposed to get through week without apple blood? Huh?
Eda notices the sign that was pointing to where the free apple blood was.
Eda: Oh free apple blood huh? Wait, something tells me that it could be a scam. But another part of me tells me that there really is free apple blood. No it could be a prank. Could be King trying to get me. But on the other hand I really need my apple blood. I must go. No don't go. Do go. Don't go! Argh, what do I do?
Eda was sweating and rubbing her hands not knowing what to do. She looked at the sign again and decided.
Eda: No, I am not following the sign and that is final.
Eda leaves ignoring the sign, but literally moments later she returns following it.
Eda: ( shrugs) Eh, I'm a gambler.
Eda follows the signs as Luz, Christa and Gwen watched up from the trees.
Gwen: Okay, according to this we start by lowering the beasts defenses with special crystals. They're supposed to be quite calming.
As Eda walked suddenly crystal shards fell on her, she dodged and blocked some of them with her staff.
Eda: Whoa, I guess ice season came early this year.
But then she saw a giant crystal about to fall on her. She barely had enough time to dodge and fell back. But then some feathers grew on her.
Christa: Uh oh. She looks stressed.
Luz: Don't worry I got it.
Luz took out one of her elixirs and was about to give it to her.
Gwen: No don't. The text says the feathers mean it's driving the beast out.
Luz and Christa looked concerned.
Gwen: Don't worry, after today Eda will never have to drink those nasty little things again.
Luz: Alright.
Christa: ( whispers) You sure this alright?
Luz: ( whispers) It has to work. I hope.
Meanwhile
At the hosue, Lilith and Mathilda were sitting drinking tea and playing chess. King was on the couch introducing Francois to his new friend.
Mathilda: Very good Lily. You've been improving a lot in this game.
Lilith: Thank you. But I' m not letting you beat me this time.
Mathilda: Oh I want to see you at your fullest.
Lilith: Hmph you will. So um... have you and mother really found a cure for Edalyn's curse?
Mathilda: Well she says, but I have my suspicion about it.
Lilith: I just wished mother would notice me.
Mathilda: She notices you.
Lilith: Hardly. She doesn't visit, call or write to me. Did you know she never came to my coven initiation?
Mathilda: Lily I know she focused a lot on your sister but she's not trying to neglect you. She's proud of what you do.
Lilith: Yeah sure.
Mathilda: No really, she talks a lot about the both of you, especially you. How smart you are. You work so hard and how strong you are.
Lilith: Did...did she really say those things.
Mathilda: Yes, she maybe focusing on Eda a lot right now, but she does love you. I'll make sure before we leave she spends some time with you.
Lilith: Thank you Matti. You know, during my time at the Emperor's Coven, it's been lonely. None of the members there were fun to hang with, especially Selene Crimson she was the worst. I'm glad you still visited me regularly.
Mathilda: Of course Lily. I love spending time with you. But I really hope your mom knows what she's doing this time. I do hope Eda's cursed is removed. I feel so bad for her, she doesn't deserve this.
Lilith frowned, but closed her eyes knowing she had to tell the truth.
Lilith: No she didn't. I did.
Mathilda: What?
Lilith: Matti, I have something to confess. Something I'm not proud of.
Mathilda: What do you mean?
Lilith: I was the one who cursed Edalyn.
Mathilda's eye's widened in disbelief.
Mathilda: Wh-What?
Lilith: I cursed her to ensure I would win the witche's duel. She was just so much more powerful than me, I was desperate. I know it was selfish but...
Mathilda: Please tell me this is a joke. If it is it's not funny.
Lilith: It's no joke. It's all true.
Mathilda stood up, hands on her head in utter disbelief and really upset.
Mathilda: Why? Just why?!
Lilith: I was desperate and foolish back then. I'm not exactly proud of what I did.
Mathilda: And you never told me about this?
Lilith: I...I couldn't tell you or anyone.
Mathilda: I can't believe you Lilith. Why didn't you tell me?! If you had come to me, we could have cured Eda sooner!
Lilith: I 'm sorry I couldn't. I was too scarred.
Mathilda: Tell me this, was it worth it? Was being in the Emperor's Coven worth losing your sister?
Lilith: No, no it wasn't. I didn't know the outcome of the curse. I didn't think it would have a permanent effect on her.
Mathilda: No you didn't. Because of you, Eda is forced to live with this burdan, strained her relationship with her family and put Archimedes's life in danger.
Lilith: Matti listen, I immediatly regretted what I did. I wanted to heal her and I thought if I brought her to the Emperor's Coven, Belos would heal her.
Mathilda: And did he?
Lilith: No, he didn't. He lied to me, but I did...
Then they heard a faint yell from Eda. Mathilda looked out the window and saw the signs, now looing annoyed.
Mathilda: ( groans) I told her not to start.
Lilith: Matti where are you going?
Mathilda: To keep your mom from making things worse for your sister.
Lilith: I can come help.
Mathilda: No you've done enough.
Lilith: Matti, please don't do this to me. I already have to live with one person I loved hating me, I don't want another one.
Mathilda: You betrayed me Lilith. I looked up to you and I find out your a cheater and a coward. I'm leaving and I never want to speak to you again!
Lilith: Matti I'm sorry.
Mathilda: I don't want to hear it! Goodbye!
Mathilda leaves the house slamming the door. Lilith stood there with one hand reaching out to Mathilda and the other covering her mouth. Her eyes began to water and fell to her knees. She really screwed up. Mathilda now knows what happened and hates her now. She was a friend since they were very young and it just ended. She felt horrible and sure she thought what she did was wrong and was sorry, but she doesn't want to be left abanonded and alone.
Lilith: Matti please...don't hate me...don't...
But then feathers started to grow on Lilith.
King: Uh Lilith...
Lilith notices the feathers on her and saw she was transforming. She tried to get one of the elixirs but couldn't find one. There was none around the house. But Eda just showed them to her this morning.
Lilith: No, no. Where are the elixirs?
But then she fell to the ground and yelled as she was transforming in front of King.
Meanwhile
Eda kept walking through the woods, looking all tired, warn out and covered in feathers after going through so many booby traps.
Eda: Ugh, this better be the oldest, strongest, stinkiest apple blood ever.
As she walked she stepped on a plant that bursted into goo and made her slip and ruining her shoes.
Eda: Ugh I just stole these.
But the she stepped on another booby trap that sent her flying into the sky. Luz and Christa kept watching now looking concerned.
Christa: ( whispers) Luz I don't know about you, but I'm seriously thinking this isn't working and I'm worried about Eda.
Luz: ( whispers) You're right, I'm not liking this either? ( to Gwen) Gwen we tried freezing the curse out, we tried sweating the curse out and even tried using flying snakes for some reason. I don't think this is working.
Gwen: Don't worry this part of the plan.
But then behind them, came Mathilda on her staff.
Mathilda: Gwen I said not to do this without me.
Gwen: I just wanted to surprise you Matti.
Mathilda: Alright, what did I miss?
Christa: Gwen's been following the book and set up a whole bunch of booby traps around and lured Eda into them in hopes of getting to the curse out.
Luz: But it looks more like it's doing more harm then good. Gwen did Wortlop ever say where he learned this stuff?
Mathilda turned to Gwen.
Mathilda: Okay that's it Gwen. Let me see the book.
Gwen: No, only people who have studied Wortlop's pyramid of study can touch the book.
But then Christa using plant magic, forms a vine and snatches the book of Gwen's hands as the three of them open it and look what it has.
Luz: What is all this? Jar of bees for existential dread?
Christa: Aroma therapy for broken legs?
Mathilda: Bird songs for sufferers of stuffy noses? I knew it, Gwen you're being scammed. That Wortlop is a fake.
Gwen: You really think I'd spend my life savings on a fake?
Mathilda: Gwendolyn I know healing remedies and medicines. These are clearly not it.
Gwen: Maybe for first level healers but for advanced healers yes.
Mathilda: Na ah. This isn't helping Eda. I'm calling this off.
Luz: ( taking out an elixir) I'm gonna give her this.
But before Luz could give Eda her elixer, Gwen snatches it off her hand.
Gwen: I thought we were all on the same page. According to Wortlop, poison like this is made by potion makers who simply want money.
Christa: Poison?
Luz: Are you kidding me?
Matti: People who just want money? Do you hear yourself Gwendolyn? Do you have any idea how much trouble Archimedes went through to consult the Potions Coven to make this? He wasn't doing this for money, he was doing it to help Eda.
Gwen: I'm sure his intentions were good, but that won't be needed anymore.
Gwen throws the potion off the tree.
Mathilda: Gwendolyn!
Christa: Oh no Eda!
Luz: Don't worry, I'll head back to the house and get more.
Gwen: I'm afraid that will be a waist of your time.
Gwen's palisman arrives with a bag full of elixir.
Gwen: Hawksley cleared up every bottle hours ago.
Luz: Wha...Why would you do that?
Gwen: Because I am a mother. And I would do anything for my daughter.
Mathilda: Gwendolyn...
Gwen: Are you really going to doubt me Mathilda. After everything we went through, don't you want to help Edalyn?
Mathilda: Not like this. This is wrong. I'm giving her the elixir.
Mathildatakes the bag, but Gwen holds it as well.
Gwen: I can't let you do that.
Mathilda: Gwen let go!
Gwen: Everything will be fine!
The two struggle pulling the bag back and forth. Luz and Christa tried to pull it back as well. But during their tug of war the bag ripped open and all the elixir fell out smashind down to the ground.
Luz: ( gasps) No!
Luz tried reaching to one of them, but she accidently brought everyone else down with her, falling off the tree. Once they hit the ground, they saw all the bottles broken.
Luz: ( gasps) No, no,no,no!
Christa: Is there none left?
Luz: Not one!
Mathilda: Now look at what you did!
Gwen: Relax. This is all part of the book.
Mathilda: Would you stop about the book? Now we have no elixir. I know you've been desperate before, but now you've officially crossed the lilne. You are so reckless and near sited and for what, because you wanted to prove a point and now Eda is about to... wait where's Eda?
They noticed Eda was gone, until they saw her foot tracks. They followed as they saw Eda, finally finding a mug and a bottle of apple blood on the ground. Eda's eye's widened looking happy.
Eda: Yes. ( laughs maniacally) Finally! I've been trying to drink you all day!
Eda opened the bottle quickle and got the mug.
Eda: Come to mama!
But the only thing that came out was a sheet of paper.
Eda: Huh? What the...
She looked confused and read it.
Eda: You...smell...like...dog buns.
Eda's face began to twitch and dropped the bottle and the paper. After everything she just went through it was all for nothing. More feathers were growing on her and was about to snap.
Eda: ( over dramatically) No...no...no...no,no,no,no. NOOOOOOOOOO!
Eda yelled and transformed into the Owl Beast.
Luz: Oh no.
Christa: This is what she looks like cursed?
Matti: Great now what Gwendolyn? You plan didn't work.
Gwen: Calm down. Nobody make a sound.
But then Christa sneezed ( in a cute way). Owl Beast Eda hears it and turns to them.
Christa: Sorry...
Owl Beast Eda roars at them and closes in on them. Mathilda pulled Luz and Christa behind her.
Gwen: ( reads the book) Don't worry according to this we just have to...um...
Luz: What?
Gwen: Uh... buy the next volume?
Gwen shows them the end of the book that said to get the next volume. Luz, Christa and Matti pointed at the book giving her a " You see?" look.
Owl Beast Eda was about to attack, but then they heard someone coming from behind them. It was King running out of a bush.
Luz: King?
King: So Lilith was feeling stressed after what happened with Matti and the light glyph didn't work so uh...uh...
Christa: What?
Then they heard another roar. It was another bird like beast flying in the sky. It landed and revealed to be Lilith in her Raven beast form and she was twice Owl Beast Eda's size.
Matti: Is that...Lilith?!
King: Yeah, she turned into that!
Gwen: Sweet Flea?
Then the two bird beasts looked at each other and fought one another. After a brief fight, Raven Beast Lilith picked up Owl Beast Eda and flew off.
Mathilda: Wait, Lilith was cursed as well?
Luz: She shared it with Eda to control it after we escaped from Belos.
Mathilda: Oh...I was so hard on her. Look what I did?
Christa: You can talk to her about it later. We have to get more elixir.
Luz got Eda's staff and got on with Christa and King.
Luz: Let's not waste time then. Gwen will you help us?
Gwen: This...this must be part of the process.
Mathildalooked down in disappointment.
Mathilda: I get it. You still think it's part of your plan. Fine.
Mathilda walks towars Luz and Christa and got onto her staff.
Mathilda: Come on. We have friends to save.
They flew off, leaving Gwen alone as she got onto her staff and flew back to Wortlop's cave.
Gwen: Wortlop, he's not fake is he? After everything I did for him.
Gwen made it to the cave and peaked inside. To her shock, Wortlop wasn't there and instead was Satarakura with three Dorodoros. They sat around a camp fire with fire bees. The Dorodoros counted the money while Satarakura was sitting down writing another book.
Satarakura: Don't lose count boys. Anyway lets see, hmmm. Maybe...
He gets a jar fills it with dirt.
Satarakura: I'll call that cleansing mud from the uh..um...healing bugs from the hips. Oh whatever, I can make the most simplist thing and sell it that old hag for hefty price. BAHAHAAHAHAHA!
Gwen looked in disbelief. Wortlop,everything she thought she was working for was a lie. Matti was right, he was fake and was being scammed. Her daughters are in danger because of him, no because of her. She was a fool for ever listening to him. But now she was going to set things right. Suddenly the fire bees erupted, making him step back and quickly taking the form of Wortlop and the Dorodoros stoody by him. Then appearing before them was Gwen, looking mad.
Wortlop: (in Satarakura's voice) Mrs Clawthorne. ( clears throat and uses other voice) What a fortuitous suprise.
Gwen: You know, right after Eda was cursed I joined Beast Keeper Coven. I thought they surely knew what to do. But the beast keepers told me the beast couldn't be tamed and the healers told me it couldn't be healed. Eda told me she found something that made it managable at least but, I didn't listen.
Wortlop: I could give you the next volume. Five percent off? 10 percent off?
Gwen: Leave...
Gwen made the fire bees let out stronger flames, making Wortlop jump and lose form, turning back into Satarakura. The Dorodoros also fell back and hid behind Satarakura, trembling in fear as Gwen was giving them a deadly glare.
Satarakura: Whoa, whoa just...just take it easy lady.
Gwen: And if I ever see you again, I'll have every beast in the forest be after your head!
Satarakura: AAAAAAH!
Satarakura jumped up and warped away. The Dorodoros seeing him gone ran around the room frightened of Gwen for a moment until finally they ran past her and out of the cave into the deep woods. Once the cave was empty the fire bees settled down.
Gwen: ( silent chuckles) Still got it.
In Bonesborough. Satarakura appeared in an alley, breathing heavily after escaping Gwen.
Satarakura: ( panting) That lady was fricken crazy! Oh no I left all my hard earned cash in the cave. Oh great. I'm flat broke and if I go back, I know I'm gonna be questioned where I was all day. What do I do?
Satarakura banged his head lightly against the wall as he tried to think.
Satarakura: Think. Think. Think.
But then he heard a screeching noise. He looked out he alley, but then suddenly Owl Beast Eda and Raven Beast Lilith landed in front of him. Satarakura stepped back away and watched the two fight. Owl Beast Eda flew away as Raven Beast Lilith chased after her.
Satarakura: Was that...the Owl Lady. I know she was cursed but the other one looked like Lily. When was she cursed and why are they fighting each other?
But then an idea hit Satarakura.
Satarakura: Wait a minute, this is perfect. I'll make sure they fight each other. One of them will die and I'll turn in the winner to Emperor Belos. This is the best plan I've made yet! BAHAHAHAAHAHA!
Satarakura jumped up and warped to get a closer look.
Meanwhile Luz and the others were getting close to Bonesborough. They had to find the Mr. Elixir shop. Morton has been standing there with little buisness today.
Morton: No one's bought anything in a while. I should close up early.
Then he saw Luz flying right at him.
Luz: Morton! I need every last elixir you have!
Morton looked excited.
Luz: Also, do you accept payment in hyper realistic pencil portraits?
Morton didn't look pleased and closed the shop.
Luz: Aw, I thought I was improving. You got any money Christa?
Christa: No. Mathilda?
Mathilda checked her pockets.
Mathilda: Aw shoot. I forgot my wallet.
Gwen: Don't worry.
Gwen arrives with a bag of money she took back from the cave.
Gwen: Mama's here.
Mathilda: Gwendolyn.
Gwen: Oh Matti, you were right I was a fool. I'm sorry, for everything, but I'm here to fix it.
Matti and Luz gave her a small smile, happy she's here to do the right thing.
Meanwhile.
Owl Beast Eda and Raven Beast Lilith kept fighting and were on the rooftops. Satarakura was on another rooftop watching.
Satarakura: Yeah fight, fight, fight! Come Owl Lady, no Lily! Oh whatever one of you just die. BAHAHAHAHA...huh?
He saw Luz, Christa and King heading closer to them.
Luz: We gotta get them to drink this. Christa, get ready to use your plant magic and tie them down.
Christa: Right.
Luz: King get ready.
King: Alright I'm on...hey what's that?
But then something came flying at them. It was a small toy that looked like a bouncy ball.
Christa: A ball?
But then the ball burst, letting out a flashing light, which blinded the three, causing them to fall to the ground. After they fell, they began to regain their vision.
Luz: Ow, that really hurt. Is everyone alright?
King: Well my horn didn't break off again so that's good. Christa?
They saw Christa landed on her face again.
Christa: Ow my face.
Luz helped her up.
Luz: You okay?
Christa: Hurt's a bit, but I think it'll go away.
King: What was that?
Satarakura: I was that.
They looked up at the roof of a building and saw Satarakura on top. He jumped off and landed down, getting a closer look at the three.
King: Uh, this guy creeps me out just by looking at him.
Satarakura: So then, we finally meet face to face human.
Luz: Yeah we finally meet uh...um. Who are you again?
Satarakura: What? You mean Mikey, Voffy or Lily haven't told you about me. I am one of the top five most powerful witches in Boiling Isles.
Then the three turned and saw another Satarakura on their right.
Satarakura: I am the trickster of the Emperor's Coven.
Then there was another Satarakura on their left.
Satarakura: The Master of Illusions.
And one more Satarakura appeared behind them.
Satarakura: And Emperor Belos top member.
Then they spoke together in unison.
Satarakura: We are one the members of the Legion of Five.
Then the three Satarakuras disappeared.
Satarakura: I am Satarakura!
Christa: You're one of the Legion of Five?
Satarakura: That's right red, want my autograph?
Luz: So...you caused this for both Eda and Lilith.
Satarakura: Honestly I was only trying to make quick buck, but since that backfired this is sort of a back up plan. They fight, one of them dies, I turn in the winner to Emperor Belos. He'll think I'm great and show Goldy who's boss! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Luz: That's awful. We are not going to let you do that.
Satarakura: Actually that will be the other way around human. Let's play a game, ever heard of paint ball.
Luz: Uh yeah?
Satarakura: Remove the T.
Luz: Wha...
Suddenly Satarakura threw a throwing knife at Luz from his sleeve, she barely got away, but it cut her cheek, making her bleed a little.
Luz: Okay, I see what you did there.
Luz place an ice glyph on the ground as a spike of ice came at Satarakura, but when he got hit he vansished.
King: Luz your face.
Luz: Just a scratch King. I'm okay.
Christa: Did you get him?
Satarakura: Yoo hoo!
They turned and saw Satarakura behind them.
Satarakura: Over here.
Christa formed fire magic and threw a fire ball at him, but he vansihed again.
Satarakura: Oh so close!
He appeared next to them and threw a few more throwing knives from his sleeves. They acted quickly an dodged it.
Satarakura: I got a present for ya!
He then took out wind up toy wound it up. He tossed it at Luz and King. Luz grabbed King and got away as it detonated.
Satarakura: Oh you missed it. Not to worry, I got plenty more.
But then a vine wrapped around Satarakura, tieing him up, it was caused by Christa.
Christa: You mess with them. You mess with me.
Luz and King met up with her.
Luz: Nice one.
King: You got him.
Satarakura: Yeah you really got him good.
The three of screamed when they saw Satarakura behind them.
Satarakura: I mean really that's a good knot with the vine.
Then looked back and saw the tied up Satarakura was gone.
Satarakura: But you know you really shouldn't keep your eye off me. BAHAHAHAAHAHA!
Satarakura threw a few more wind up toy bombs at them. Luz, Christa and King flew back a bit from the explosion.
Luz: He's too fast.
King: No tricky.
Then they were surrounded by a ring of Satarakuras, laughing at them.
King: That laugh! I swear it's worse than Hooty's voice!
Christa: They all look the same, which is the real one?
The Satarakuras spoke in unison.
Satarakura: You got ten seconds to figure out which is the real me or you die! 10, 9, 8...
Luz didn't know which to choose but had to think fast.
Luz: Christa, you remeber the last thing we trained on with water magic?
Christa: Yeah. Oh! Yeah I remember now.
Luz: At my command do it.
Luz got a water glyph ready as Christa prepared herself.
Satarakura: 4,3,2..
Luz: Now!
Luz and Christa created a wave of water and the circle of Satarakuras, making most of them disappear but hitting the real one. He ends up hitting a wall and fell, coughing out water. Then he looked up as Luz held a fire ball as Christa held an ice spike at him.
Luz: Stop now or else we will use full force.
Satarakura: Am I supposed to be scared of you? HA! You kids got skills I tell you that, but I'm part of the Legion of Five. Nothing can make me fall ba...aaah...AAACK!
Satarakura's face turns into terror when he saw Mathilda and Gwen flying towards them. He gulped not wanting to tangle her again.
Satarakura: Fine, you win this round. But this isn't over. I will be back again human and you too girl. I know the Emperor is interested in you.
Christa: What?
Satarakura: Til then, BYYYYYEEEE!
Satarakura vanishes leaving them alone. Mathilda and Gwen meets up with them.
Mathilda: Are you three alright? We were wondering what was taking you so long. You look like you were just attacked.
Luz: Had a bit of a set back but we're okay.
They looked back up at the fight between Eda and Lilith.
Christa: We have to stop this before they get themselves killed.
Gwen: Let's hurry. I won't let anything else happen to my daughters.
They made it to the rooftops and were one building across from them.
Luz: You sure this is going to work?
King: Yeah you're not gonna like, twist things up and use us as bait or something right?
Gwen: No, I'm making things right.
Luz, Christa and King flew up as Gwen summoned the living roof tiles on the buildings to make a path for her and Mathilda to walk across.
Gwen: Let me do this.
Mathilda: Be careful.
Gwen: My beautiful daughters. I failed you.
She got both their attentions. Eda approached her first.
Gwen: Edalyn...you're in there aren't you?
Gwen placed her hand on Eda's face.
Gwen: I should have listened to you. I know now why you pushed me away. I made you think your curse was something to be ashamed of. Whether we want it or not it's a part of you. And I love every part of you. I'm so sorry.
Owl Beast Eda groaned and shook her head, trying to regain her humanity.
Eda: M-Mom? Matti?
Mathilda: Eda.
Gwen: Witchlette.
But before they could keep talking, Raven Beast Lilith tried to attack her from the back. Eda caught her arm, turning her over and holding her down. Gwen spoke to her next.
Gwen: And Lilith. You were always so self sufficient. But I didn't give you the attention you deserved.
Mathilda: Lily, it's me. It's Matti.
Lilith started to calm down hearing both their voices.
Mathilda: I didn't mean to act so cold back there. I'm disappointed, but I should have heard what else you had to say. I don't want to cut you out of my life. You're my sister and I love you both.
Lilith began to wimper and tear up as Gwen held her in her arms and rubbing her head.
Gwen: NOW!
Luz, Christa and King were above them. King jumped off and when landing he held onto both Eda and Lilith's ears back, making them open their mouths wide. Luz and Christa with their own elixer poured it down to their mouths. Eda and Lilith swallowed it and with that their bodies flew up and glowed letting out a bright light as they reverted back to normal.
Christa: Wow, that is some powerful stuff.
Luz: Yeah you should have seen my reaction the first time I did this.
Eda and Lilith levitated back down as Gwen held the both of them.
Eda: About time mom.
Lilith began to cry.
Lilith: Mom, I heard you but I couldn't stop myself. I couldn't do anything.
Gwen: It's okay, everything is okay now. I'm here for you both.
Later that night.
Everyone was outside the house as Gwen and Mathilda were about to leave.
Gwen: I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused. I just wanted to help, but I should have trusted you more.
Eda gave her a light punch in the arm.
Eda: Yeah you should have, but I honestly I blame that Legion of Five member for even scamming you in the first place.
Lilith: I used to always tell Satarakura to stop his get quick rich schemes, but he always thought because he's part of the Emperor's Coven, he could do whatever he wants.
Eda: Can't believe you three took on him.
Luz: He wasn't easy to take on.
King: More annoying than hard.
Gwen: Oh you should have seen his reaction when I scared him. I don't think he'll be doing his scams anymore.
Mathilda approached Lilith. Had a small frown and looked away.
Mathilda: Lilith, are you okay?
Lilith: I guess.
Gwen: Edalyn, Lilith told me how she gave you the curse. I'm so sorry to you both to have this secret weigh you down. I wished I had known sooner.
Lilith: I'm the one who should be sorry. I never told anyone about this, not even Matti here. I'm so sorry Matti. I should have told you sooner. You must really hate me.
Mathilda: I don't hate you Lilith.
Lilith: Aren't you ashamed of me?
Mathilda: I was more disappointed that you'd do such a thing, but I shouldn't have lashed out on you like that and heard what else you had to say.
Lilith: You had every right reason to.
Eda: Matti, please don't hold it against Lily. Did she mess up big? Yeah she did. Like really did. Like the worst thing she possibly has ever done...
Lilith: Not helping Edalyn.
Eda: Right sorry, look the point is you really mean a lot to us and to her and I know she's sorry. A monkey once said, it's all in the past.
Lilith and Mathilda: What?
Eda: Eh I saw it a movie in the human realm once, but the point is I'm not upset with Lily anymore. She did help Luz get me out from Belos, shared the curse so the elixir would work again and has been helping me out lately. Give her another chance.
Mathilda nodded at Eda and turned to Lilith, giving her a hug. Lilith hugged her back holding her tightly.
Lilith: Matti..
Mathilda: It's alright Lily, I forgive you. Just promise to be honest with me and never do something like that again.
Lilith: I will.
Gwen approached Luz and Christa.
Gwen: Luz, Christa if it weren't for you two I would have still been wrapped up in Satarakura's lies. Luz here is something I should have told you from the start...You're not the only human to have lived in Bonesborough.
Luz and Christa gasped. They looked at each other for a moment and then back at Gwen.
Gwen: There's a rare substance called titans blood. It is extremely powerful. And sometimes causes leaks between our realms. Plants, animals and you guys have a lot of garbage by the way. But humans are rare. My great grandmother told me about a human who once lived here, but then one day he just vanished.
Luz: Really, another human lived here? Who is he? How exactly did he get here?
Gwen: Unfortunatly that's all I know, but the History coven might have more information about this.
Luz: But this is big, if we can find out more aobut him,maybe this can help me find a way back home.
Gwen: Exactly. I wish you luck on your quest. Mathilda, we should really get going.
Mathilda: Right, it was so nice to see you guys again and meet you two. Eda tell Archy I said hi.
Eda: Will do Matti.
But Hooty and King ran to Mathilda looking sad.
Hooty: No Matti you can't leave now!
King: Yeah you just got here.
Mathilda: Sorry guys, but I have to. I promise to be back again soon. ( petting Hooty) Hooty you look after everyone, you are the Owl House.
Hooty: I'll do my best.
Mathilda picks up King hugging him.
Mathilda: Oh and King, you be good and listen to Eda.
King: I will Matti. You're the best ever!
Mathilda placed King down and met up with Gwen as they were about to leave.
Eda: Oh wait mom.
Gwen: Yes witchlette.
Eda: Um...when you get home. Tell dad I said hi.
Gwen: ( smiles) I will dear. You should really meet him yourself one of these days.
Eda: I know, just not noow.
Gwen: I understand.
With that Gwen and Mathilda fly off.
Lilith: Well this has been quite a day.
Eda: I'll be sleeping on the couch for the next 24 hours. ( yawns) Goodnight.
King: Wait, I call the couch!
King followed Eda and Lilith inside as Luz and Christa remained outside.
Luz: Can you believe it Christa? There was another human who once lived here.
Christa: I know. I thought you were the first and only one. So...now what?
Luz: We'll go see Archimedes tomorrow. He might know more about this. We should rest up now.
Luz was about to go inside but Christa stood there a moment.
Christa: Wait Luz.
Luz: Yeah?
Luz went back to her.
Christa: If you don't mind me asking, what is your mom like?
Luz: Mama? Well, she's a very kind and loving person. She's always been by my side when things got rough and we really enjoy each others company. Though she can be a bit overprotective and can get really worried about me. I mean she's been like that since my dad is no longer around. I mean before I came here I was supposed to go to camp to control my imagination. It wasn't really the best move, but like Eda's mom she's just doing her best.
Christa: She must be a really good person.
Luz: She is. I do miss her and I want to find a new portal home to see her. Camp must have ended by now she must be worried sick about me.
Christa: Well, it must be nice that you and Eda know your moms.
Christa looked away and teared up. Luz notices.
Luz: Christa?
Christa: Sorry. I'm sorry I'm doing it again.
Luz: Don't be. I know it's hard for you right now.
Christa: It's just. It's been over a month now and there is no news of where my home is and no one's called. What if my family doesn't live here? Or...
Christa looked down and was almost about to cry.
Christa: What if they don't want me and that's why they put me in the pod?
Luz: Christa calm down. Don't think like that.
Luz pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back to calm her down.
Luz: Christa no one would be that heartless to abandon you. No parent would do that.
Christa: Amity's mom probably would.
Luz: Okay maybe, but look your mom is nothing like Odalia. I'm sure of it at least. I l want to find my way home, but I still want to help find yours. It'd be unfair leaving you like that. I won't stop until I find it.
Christa: ( rubbing her eyes) Thanks Luz.
Luz nodded patting her hands.
Christa: Also Luz.
Luz: Yeah?
Christa: If we find my home and you find yours, will you and I still be able to atleast hang out.
Luz: Of course we will. When your family see's how much I helped you and Mama meets you, we'll definitly still be friends.
Christa: ( smiled) That's all I needed to hear. I don't want to stop being friends with you and also I will do what I can to help you find your way home.
Luz: Thank you. I don't want to stop being friends with you either. ( hugging her) Estoy aquí para ti, hermana.
Christa smiled and hugged her back. The two stayed hugging for a bit as they have decided no matter where they go, they'd be there for each other.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Sorry if this was a long one, but I had a lot tell here. I will be focusing on retellings on episodes for a bit so I can get certain parts of the shows lore to work with. I'm also aware I haven't really utalized Christa that well lately, but it's because these past few weren't really about her but other characters, but the next one should use her better. As you all noticed I didn't have Lilith leave since I have some plans for her and for those thinking I was shipping her with Mathilda, I was not or if I did it was unintentional.
