….

In hell

Trish was returning to Mundus after one of her secret visits with Dante, when she arrived she looked up at the statue of Mundus when all the sudden the three red eyes appeared "Master" she said bowing her head slightly.

Mundus stared down at her, "Do you think me a fool Trish?" his dark voice asked.

Trish felt the fear dwell in her as she slowly looked up to him "I don't understand wha-..." Trish's voice was cut off and she started to gasp for breath as she felt like she couldn't breathe, she fell to her knees desperately trying to breathe in.

Mundus kept his gaze on her as he spoke "I know all about your "visits" with the half breed the son of Sparda I told you to stay away from" he allowed her to breathe.

Trish breathed in deeply, panting as she laid there helpless "Master I.."

Mundus's voice boomed across the room "SILENCE! If you value your life or the life growing inside you you will do exactly as I say"

Trish's eyes widened as she looked down to her stomach she had no idea she was pregnant "I...yes master"

Mundus told her "you will go to the human world and bring the other son of Sparda to me the brother...Vergil"

Trish had no choice; she didn't want to hurt Dante's brother even if Dante seemed to dislike him but to save Dante and the child she had just found out about she had to do it.

Mundus opened a portal for Trish to the human world after she left Mundus went to find Dante and it didn't take him long as he was almost omnipresent in the underworld.

….

Dante was just fighting random demons that he had come across "oh come on I'm barely breaking a sweat" he said sending a demon flying through the air and slamming into three other demons.

He looked around and raised his voice "this all you got Mundus?!"

Three glowing red eyes appeared above Dante as the dark voice spoke "Not even close"

Dante looked up "oh there you are….three eyed bastard" he muttered the last part.

Mundus looked down at him "last chance….surrender"

Dante smirked "don't you know me at all, I'll never surrender" he said before jumping up in his devil trigger and charged at Mundus.

Mundus swatted Dante like an insect "what Trish saw in you I'll never know" he chuckled darkly.

Dante froze and looked up at Mundus shocked "you know?... what have you done to her you fuck?! I swear if you hurt her I'l-.."

Mundus cut him off "you'll do nothing just as you always have…..I have done nothing to Trish she has left for the human world...perhaps she thought Vergil was the stronger son of Sparda...I'm inclined to agree the blood of Sparda has clearly been spoiled with you"

Dante roared in rage charging once more at Mundus, a red beam shot at Dante sending him back down to the ground "I won't kill you Dante… I will give you the power to defeat Vergil and make you stronger then he or you could imagine"

Dante pants for breath looking up at Mundus "why would you do that?"

Mundus held out his hand "take it ..or leave it and die"

Dante thought for a few moments consumed with his hate for Vergil and to think he had now taken Trish from him too was the deciding factor "do it" he muttered.

Mundus raised his voice "I can't hear you mortal"

Dante looked up at him slowly standing to his feet throwing rebellion aside "I said DO IT!" he yelled.

Mundus grabbed Dante's body in his hand and as he said gave Dante new power but it wasn't the type of power Dante wanted as he started to scream in pain Dante's veins glowed red through his face as his eyes turned black and red.

Mundus in his endless evil laughed as he had now taken Dante's will and corrupted him to obey Mundus "you fool...now you are mine"

….

After arriving in the human world Trish found the place as she saw a large blue neon sign saying "Devils Never Cry" it reminded her of what Dante said to her...coincidence? No chance.

….

Inside Devils Never Cry

The phone rang as Vergil quickly answered it "Devils Never Cry….apologies we're closed" he said before hanging up and picking up the book he was reading, sighing "No password ..again" he muttered.

The sound of a motorbike was heard outside as it got louder and louder until the front doors of the shop were smashed open.

Vergil didn't look up at his book at all "I think you missed a turning somewhere" he said before putting his book down and looking to see a blonde woman sat upon a bike.

As the woman got off the bike she looked around not speaking at first.

Vergil watched her asking "I assume you're wondering how much that door cost?"

Trish asked "So, you must be the handyman who'll take any dirty job, am I correct?"

Vergil stood grabbing the force edge off the wall replying "not quite..I take the jobs nobody else can..if you understand"

The woman replied "You're the man who lost a mother to evil twenty years ago, the son of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, Mr. Vergil."

Vergil knew at that moment this was a demon he was talking to. "I kill so many of your kind in my profession eventually I'll come across the one responsible" he said pointing his blade at her.

The woman replied "in that case you should be used to this sort of thing" she said as her hand filled with yellow electricity, She grabs the blade of the sword and shocks Vergil, making him scream in pain. He drops the sword just as the woman follows up with a powered up high-kick that fazes him. The woman attacks again, kneeing Vergil in the chin, sending him flying to crash through the dining table. The woman catches the sword by the blade and throws it like a spear, straight into Vergil's chest. He yells in pain as the woman continues to feed energy into the sword.

The woman laughs "Hahaha, are you really the son of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda? Didn't your daddy teach you how to use a sword?"

The woman abruptly stops feeding energy and grabs the bike that was originally used to crash through the doors earlier. She easily picks it up and hurls it towards Vergil who is still lying on the ground who now seems to be free of pain regardless of the sword he moves so fast standing to his feet and summoning Yamato in his hand and cutting the bike in half as it came at him "he did actually...shame for you" he said before grabbing one half of the bike and throwing it back at her.

The woman, not expecting the counter-attack, runs and jumps out of the way as the bike crushes against the wall behind her. She turns onto her back looking up at Vergil who still had force edge in his chest.

Vergil begins casually pulling out the sword in his chest with one hand, and throws it to the ground.

The woman watches muttering "what strength…"

Vergil looks at her "you know of my mother...it seems I'm getting closer to finding the scum responsible" he says pointing Yamato at her.

The woman slowly stands to her feet saying "It seems that way, but I'm not your enemy. My name is Trish. I came here to seek your help. To put an end to the Underworld." she said.

Vergil stared at her, keeping his eye on her as she turned her back on him, then grabbed her glasses and turned back to face him.

Vergil's heart stopped as he saw his mother's face…..

Trish spoke "Twenty years ago, Mundus the emperor of the underworld resurrected His powers that were sealed by Sparda, he's attempting to take control of the human world again. He has been preparing to open the gate on... Mallet Island."

….

Vergil arrived with Trish at the front gate of Mallet Island and cut through the lock kicking the gates open.

Trish turns to Vergil "The castle is above this cliff, come on, let's go!" she says before jumping so high up to the top of the cliff.

Vergil chuckles "hmm..I'll make my own way thank you very much"

…

Trish watched Vergil walk towards the other entrance of the castle shaking her head, he sure was a stubborn man "so this is Dante's brother...he looks just like him, so handsome" she thought but it just made her miss Dante more.

….

Once Vergil was inside the castle he saw in front of him a large statue of Mundus holding a blue flame.

…

Vergil made his way through the castle finding mannequin demons nearly everywhere he went.

…..

Vergil soon entered a hall where the pillars looked alive almost like trees but not quite he had collected the pride of the lion tablet when suddenly Vergil sensed another presence nearby.

An enemy which comes through the glass on the roof of the cathedral landing ten feet away from him. It is a greatly oversized spider with its skin made of hard rock with lava on the inside. Then it slowly walks forward on its eight legs.

"Bah... another small one. I sensed something a little bigger... What a disappointing catch!" the spider spoke.

Vergil looked over it smiling "a catch hmm? That implies you've got me… but I think it's you in trouble now" he said, knocking Yamato's hilt against Phantom's head.

Phantom replied "You PUNY pathetic thing! I'll step on you like an ant! Gwahahahaha..."

Vergil saw Phantom move to attack so he jumped up over the spider slamming Yamato down straight through it's back before jumping off it's body.

…

As Vergil lands the final blow, the Phantom rears back a little screaming in pain then it makes a hole in the ground and disappears… not dead just in retreat.

…

Vergil walks into a bedroom and to release the melancholy soul head found driving it deep into the hole in the statue.

Vergil glances into the mirror seeing his reflection when all the sudden the reflection smiles at him and walks out of the mirror A red cloud envelops the mirror image to reveal a devil about 8 ft tall clad head to toe in dark armour. The knight takes out his huge sword and Vergil steps casually backwards.

"Not another coward striking from the shadows? Not the place I expected that" Vergil said

The knight clicks his fingers and the nearby windows onto the balcony swing open. He gestures for Vergil to follow him and jumps out.

…..

As Vergil goes out and lands on the ground outside he sees his opponent towering high above him. A variety of different colours are flowing up and down his armour mainly red though and after outstretching his arms he jumps down to attack.

….

After a brief fight Vergil knocks his sword from his hands.

Velvo Angelo grunts as Vergil chuckles, lifting his sword to strike.

but Velvo kicks his sword out of his hand. Velvo kicks again and is blocked and then swings a left hook and then a right and is also blocked. He then spins around with an aerial roundhouse kick sending Vergil to the ground.

Velvo grabs him and holds him against the wall by the neck laughing evil like but then sees Vergil's amulet .He throws Vergil to the ground and suddenly lightning starts blazing around him and he clutches his head in agonising pain screaming.

The red light closes around him and he sort of jumps/teleports up into the sky.

Vergil slowly stands to his feet wondering what just happened but quickly shrugged it off ready to move on.

…

Dusk sky on the castle rooftop, a small, circular arena with a glass floor.

As Vergil walks through the area, a gate comes crashing down. For the moment, his path is barred. As Vergil takes a tentative step backward, he whirls around in surprise at a small avalanche of pebbles from a nearby terrace. Phantom appears, and the creature wastes no time in hopping off the balcony and confronting Vergil face-to-face.

Phantom speaks out "Blargh! Recess time is over, boy! Here, there's plenty of room to get real nasty! This time, there's no holding baaaack!"

Vergil chuckles "Finally! I was getting tired of playing your childish games"

As Vergil lands the last blow, Phantom reels back in pain. The behemoth's sudden movements send the beast crashing through the glass floor - only to be impaled on the lance of the knight statue in the castle foyer. As Phantom writhes in pain, Vergil leans over the gaping hole in the roof to observe his opponent's demise.

Phantom speaks with his last breaths "Ack... argh... You... you're not just any ordinary human... What are you?" as he looks up and sees Vergil is silhouetted by the demonic outline of his father, Sparda. "No... Sparda...!? It can't be!"

Vergil replies "you're right it can't be and it's not...I'm his son Vergil..now stop talking and die..I'll not have you coming back again"

Unbeknownst to Vergil, Trish watched everything from above "He defeated the Phantom... incredible power."

….

After Vergil made his way through the gardens of the castle he found something on a floating platform above they looked like gauntlets he then heard a voice "My name is Ifrit. The fool who awakens me shall pay dearly with fires of hell."

The Ifrit 'wakes up', and starts to spin around Vergil. After a few seconds, the gauntlets get on Vergil's hands. He does a pose with his arms bent, elbows touching his ribs, fists closed a little below the shoulder, floats for a few seconds and overwhelms Ifrit with an explosion.

Vergil chuckled "pay dearly?...no but whoever is on the wrong end of these will"

…..

Vergil comes out of the room where he previously acquired the Ifrit gauntlets. Red lightning strikes the looks to the side. There is more lighting, immediately afterwards. Giant bird demon comes out of a storm in the sky.

"You! Are you the human, the son of Sparda, who challenges the Darkness Mundus?" the bird spoke.

Vergil smirked looking up at it "why don't you come down here and find out….chicken?" he called it.

And the fight ensued.

After Vergil had beaten Gryffon it wasn't long before he saw Gryffon come back to try and fight him again in the colosseum.

Vergil saw the red lightning circle around him and looked up seeing Gryffon appear "don't you tire of failing?" he asked as Gryffon came to attack Vergil.

This time Vergil fought far more aggressively, tired of the demonic bird he practically tore it apart damaging the left wing so badly Gryffon fell. But it got back up roaring ready to fight again.

…

After a slightly longer battering Griffon falls down in the centre of the colosseum. A bright light shines down and it starts to rise towards the light. Suddenly a stone column comes crashing down on top of it pinning it to the ground.

Gryffon was terribly wounded as it laid there in pain speaking "...Your's are definitely the powers of Sparda... uh. No even more so..." it said, seeing the silhouette of Sparda and Vergil.

"But I cannot let you live for I serve my Master, Mundus!"

Vergil looked over it "not with that wound...good luck"

Gryffon looked to the sky "Mighty is the power of Mundus! Master! Grant me one last surge of power, the power to finish him!"

Vergil looks up to check whether there is a possible danger. Three red circles appear in the sky surrounded by lightning and dark clouds.

"Master... Mundus." Gryffon says.

A deep voice from the sky said "Griffon, you have failed me. You are no longer worthy!"

Blue lightning starts to shoot out from the red circles striking Griffon repeatedly. Even Vergil looks vaguely disgusted.

"Master... No... AAAAAAAA!" Gryffon pleaded and begged howling in pain with a final shower of blood Griffon disintegrates.

Mundus disappears laughing and Vergil stands there not moved by the destruction but disgusted by the cruel death of Gryffon.

With a flash of yellow lightning Trish appears at Vergil's side "You beat him. Maybe it was too easy for you."

Vergil replied "Mundus... His heinous ways make me sick; killing his own like they were nothing. I'm certain it is him that murdered my mother...and for that unforgivable act...I'll destroy that monster"

Trish heard him speak and agreed with him about Mundus but she could do nothing against him; she had to follow his will.

….

As Vergil enters a large room he stands there and watches the thunder boom out the window...then something draws a sword... and Vergil turns around slowly, hardly surprised at what he saw Velvo Angelo was there.

Vergil asked "back again..and still no cowardly strikes..you may just be the first that has my respect...a shame you serve Mundus"

Velvo grunts and takes a step backwards plunging his sword through the ground then not long afterwards he yells in agony as a reddish, purplish aura blazes around him and his Helmet now nowhere in sight reveals the face. Velvo Angelo picks up his sword, ready to fight.

Vergil swore he recognised the face but he couldn't tell as it was covered mostly by red glowing veins.

…

As Vergil lands the final blow Velvo staggers backwards floating up into the air and crossing his arms across his chest in an X shape...then releases them as the darkness escapes his body until there is nothing...nothing at all... but a familiar object coming down from the sky which hits the ground. Vergil slowly walks over, kneels down and picks up the object that Velvo Angelo dropped an amulet not made of gold like Vergil's but silver and two guns Then while staring at it one of Vergil's memories as a child comes back into view... of his mother... and his brother.

He heard his mother's voice in his head "Vergil...Dante...Happy Birthday"

Then a child's "Wow! Cool!"

And then another child said "I want chocolate!"

"No, I want chocolate!"

Vergil gasped and fell to his knees as his hand moved over his heart on his chest "No...Dante" he said, taking the amulet in his hand and putting it against his head.

….

Vergil slowly moved to his feet taking the guns with him and holding the amulet in his hand he felt his own amulet move towards it like a magnet so he took it off his neck and let them connect when suddenly the force edge on his back moved to and all three of them connected and the force edge turned into the Sparda.

Vergil slowly took it in his hands as he felt Sparda's power rushing through him.

"Mundus…. Ready or not..here I come" he said as he moved to leave the room once out of there he saw a wall shifting to the left to reveal another path, Vergil curiously walked in only to see a small hourglass on what looked like an altar inside the hourglass was glowing white essence.

Vergil slowly reached out to touch it and as he did mental images flooded his mind and he couldn't understand what he was seeing. It was all too fast he quickly pulled away as he came back to his senses and decided to take the hourglass with him.

…

In a large white cathedral hall Mundus looked down upon Trish "Trish, Velvo Angelo has been defeated. You know what you must do. Now go."

Trish had no idea who Velvo Angelo was; she assumed it was just another of Mundus's creations "yes master" she said.

…..

Vergil enters a huge red cavern with glowing runes on the ceiling. He looks around and sees Trish on the ground on the other side of the cavern.

Trish cries out for Vergil "Vergil help me please!"

Vergil's eyes widen as he runs to her aid but a blue barrier surrounds him, blocking his path before he turns to see Nightmare drop from above "stay there Trish...I'll be right back"

…

As Nightmare seems to be weakening, suddenly a yellow bolt of lightning darts through the barrier hitting Vergil in the back sending him to the ground.

Vergil looks up seeing Trish "...now things make a little sense"

Trish responded "You should know better than to trust a stranger. Your presence has become a hindrance to my master's bloody scheme. Now Die!"

….

Nightmare after a malicious pounding by Vergil rears up into the air and shrieks loudly. Its body begins to disintegrate and a series of white lasers burst forth around the room. The first swings across the ceiling bringing down rubble. The second moves horizontally towards Vergil. He ducks under it and sees Trish also dodging one.

Trish sees Vergil and gets ready to fight. As her eyes are focused on him she sees the huge piece of rubble falling from the ceiling too late. Stunned, she shields her face as it falls down.

Trish screams as it's about to crush her. Vergil runs across the room and dives into Trish just as the rock lands. They come back to their senses with Vergil on top of Trish who is safe. Vergil immediately gets up and begins to walk away as Trish slowly realises what has happened.

Trish's eyes widen and calls for him "Uh... Vergil! Vergil why did you save my life?"

Vergil pauses and stands still, his back still to her "...because you meant something to me but I was a fool to believe I could ever mean anything to you, don't mistake my actions for weakness, The next time we meet you'll die just like the rest" he says as he continues to walk away.

Trish calls to him "Vergil!" She tries to stop him.

Vergil pulled out the Sparda and brought it to her neck "stay away from me you devil! You feel nothing and you will never know what it means to love another" he yells at her before taking away the sword and walking away.

When he is gone Mundus' three red circles appear next to Trish who is looking extremely upset as she feels tears streaming from her eyes "You too have failed me Trish. You know the rules..." Mundus told her.

…..

When Vergil makes his way forward tearing apart every demon that came before him until he made it through to what seemed like a temple filled with streams of white light pouring in between the pillars. Vergil walks up to the statue at the end of the hall.

A voice echoed "Again, I must face a Sparda... Strange fate. Isn't it?"

Vergil replied "Strange and ironic that it will end the same way."

Mundus chuckles "Irony has favored you this time. Look. There." A wide beam of white light pans upwards from Mundus' chest. As Vergil swivels round to follow its trajectory, he spots Trish manacled up high above.

Vergil's eyes widen as he moves to try and save her when he hears the words "Don't even think about it. Blink, she dies"

Vergil turns in anger and is pierced with three large pink lasers making Vergil grunt in pain.

Trish screams to him "Vergil!"

Vergil groans some more and staggers slightly with the pain.

"Fool!" Mundus chuckles. "So sad that humans will always be humans, no more. Has the Sparda blood been spoiled over the ages? Now die!" Mundus shoots a charged white beam of light from his forehead at Vergil.

Trish screams Vergil's name and breaks free from her loosened manacles, and jumps down to push Vergil out of the way just in time. In doing so, she takes a direct hit from the beam.

As Trish falls Vergil catches her in his arms "No!...Trish" he says holding her.

"Useless scum... Failure is one thing but taking an odd behavior like that..." Mundus says before going on to say "What is the matter? It is time to end your pitiful life now." Mundus shoots a second white beam of light from his forehead. But this time, it bounces harmlessly off Vergil's forehead onto the opposite wall as Vergil glows a blue purple aura.

Vergil lowers Trish down and stands to face Mundus, his eyes glowing red "come out you coward and face me…."

The statue starts to break up, with heavenly-like glows of light pouring through the cracks. Mundus roars as he breaks free from his confinement. He stands up and folds his arms. Then, with one dramatic gesture, he flings out his arms and flaps his wings with a very loud whooshing sound. As he does so, the temple background disappears, to be replaced by outer space.

"Those eyes... deep in them I see the same light as in Sparda's eyes." Mundus spoke

Vergil asked "My Mother..why her?"

"That useless being? If you need a mother, I can create one, as many as you want. Just like, I created Trish."

Vergil raised his voice, it sounded demonic "Enough!

Mundus folds his arms, flaps his wings, then wraps them around him and spins away. Vergil bends down and leaps up high after Mundus. As Vergil flies after Mundus, he metamorphoses into his winged Sparda form. blue and black bands of electricity crackle about him. Mundus spins into view. In his usual posturing manner, Mundus flings his arms out, throws his head back, roars and chuckles.

….

Mundus roars angrily and shoots out pink lasers, two of which pierce Vergil's body. Mundus then roars as he slams down extremely hard with his fist, sending a shower of meteors to accompany the falling Vergil.

Vergil finally lands with a thud onto solid ground. There is much commotion and noise going on, as meteors continue to rain down. Mundus arrives on the scene, flapping his wings with a great deal of flourish, and landing waist-deep in the lava.

…..

After Vergil wins again Mundus roars and covers his face with his hands. He flaps his wings, rises, and holds both arms up above his head as he makes his escape. Vergil is transported back to the temple. He walks over to the lifeless Trish, kneels down, and holds her head.

Vergil whispered "first my mother...then my brother..and now you I was wrong Trish..I shouldn't have left you there,you saved me... I should have saved you" he said, holding her against him as he looked up and screamed as a tear escaped his eye and fell down his cheek to land on Trish's face.

Vergil slowly lowers Trish down and caresses her face before taking the Sparda off his back and stabbing it into the ground near Trish "this belonged to my father...now it is yours, I'm sorry..." he said as he placed a gentle kiss upon her lips and left her as the place started to crumble.

….

With Mundus defeated, Vergil finds himself in a collapsing Mallet Island. His only choice is to get out as fast as possible. After a while, the floor underneath Vergil collapses, which he falls into.

Vergil sees that he is in the sewers. Unluckily, a large rock covers the only exit. The room starts to flash, and on the other side of the room, the Underworld Portal appears, and Mundus makes his way out from it. "The Gate has been opened. Vergil!, you are not getting away. THIS is where you will DIE."

Vergil flicks Yamato out of it's sheath "I'll kill you for what you did to her.."

….

Vergil and Mundus fight, but Vergil sees that it's no use with only his powers in the human world.

Mundus speaks "What is the matter? Here your powers are weak, HUMAN!"

Vergil heard his mother Eva's voice "Vergil... You'll be okay... You can do it..."

Vergil stood back to his feet "Mother?.."

Through another portal, bright flashes of yellow lightning come out, and Trish leaps out "Vergil ..use my power!"

Vergil is shocked he can do nothing but stare "Trish…" Trish charges up with an incredible amount of yellow lightning, and throws it to Vergil. Catching it, Vergil absorbs it, and finds himself feeling all the more confident now.

Vergil feels the power run through him and connects it with his own as he pulls out Yamato and charges forward disappearing as slashes are heard all around the place as black and yellow streaks are seen in different places till then it goes deadly silent and Vergil appears back where he was holding Yamato and slowly sliding it back into it's sheath as a blast of yellow came shooting out of the cuts all over Mundus as he screamed and howled in pain.

Trish smiled "Looks like we have a winner..." she said.

Mundus screams "Vergil, I will return... And I will rule this wwwoooorrlllddd..."

Vergil turned and waved sarcastically "I'll be waiting…"

Once Mundus is gone Vergil turns back to Trish who runs to him straight into his chest hugging him "Vergil!..Vergil I.." she sputters as tears fill her eyes.

Vergil smiled, wiping them away "Trish...I thought you were dead" he said, holding her tight against him.

Trish holds onto Vergil as the place collapses around them "I might be in a few minutes"

Suddenly an airplane falls through the ceiling making Vergil chuckle and look at Trish "no I've already lost you once not this time" he said as they both climbed into the plane.

Vergil hit a button that shot out the rubble blocking their path and flew them out of there.

Once outside Trish cheered in joy "we made it!"

Vergil replied "we'll see for how long our luck lasts...I have no idea what I'm doing" he said trying to fly the plane as best he could.

….

It didn't take long for the plane to reach the city but that's when the plane started making noise as Vergil looked at the beeping dial which said they were running out of fuel.

Trish asked "Vergil? What is that noise?"

Vergil replied "That Trish is the sound the plane makes when it runs out of fuel"

Trish was confused "so what does that mean?"

Just as the plane's engines stopped Vergil replied "we're going to die"

The plane started going straight down as Trish started to panic "Vergil do something!"

Vergil said "there is nothing I can do ….we'll have to jump"

Trish looked over the side and sarcastically laughed "that's good...what's your real plan? I'm not jumping out of this plane Vergil no way"

Vergil stood up and grabbed Trish's arm "way" he said as he jumped over the side pulling her with him.

As they fell through the air Vergil pulled Trish so she was on top of him safe from the fall.

When suddenly Vergil landed straight onto a car groaning in pain.

Trish climbed straight off him "Vergil are you okay?"

Vergil shook his head "no I think I broke something ...ahh a few things actually"

Trish gently helped him up "it's okay you'll be okay right?"

Vergil felt the bones snapping back into place "mmm..I'll be fine" he said walking off down the street leading Trish to his shop.

Trish had fallen asleep against Vergil watching a movie, Vergil turned it off and gently lifted Trish and carried her upstairs to bed where he laid her down and covered her then placed a kiss on the side of her lips "goodnight my love" he whispered before leaving to go back downstairs.

Vergil walked over to a bookshelf in the corner of the office and pulled a certain book forward making the shelf slide over to the left revealing a small room where he had put the hourglass he had taken from when he was in hell on mallet island.

He watched the white glowing sands move about inside it before slowly reaching out to touch the hourglass once more as images flooded his mind he tried to focus this time and he started to see things he saw a large flower growing in the centre of redgrave city and then he saw a young girl no more than nineteen running through a street she had long white hair and icy blue eyes and in her hand she held rebellion.

Vergil suddenly pulled away from the hourglass "impossible… " he muttered before leaving the room and closing the shelf over it again.
