Trish saw the fear and sadness in Vergil's eyes and caressed the side of his face "no baby.. It's okay you don't need to say anything else… but if you ever want to I'm here" she told him leaning forward kissing him gently and lovingly on the lips.

Vergil kissed her back moving his arms around her as he held her on top of him "thank you…. Trish I mean what I tell you… I love you"

Trish nuzzled into his chest "I love you too baby forever and ever"

A knock came from the top of the stairs "Mommy it's been over an hour, can I have something to eat now?"

Trish quickly put her corset back on "yeah come down sweetie it's okay"

Jacqueline came running from upstairs but tripped from one of the stairs about to fall but Vergil's eyes widened and he clicked his fingers using quicksilver to slow down time and moved so fast across the room catching her in his arms "be careful… this is why I told you not to run you'll hurt yourself"

Jacqueline looked like she was about to cry "I'm sorry daddy… but I thought.. I knew if you were here I'd be okay" she told him, making Vergil soften and look down at her with nothing but love in his eyes.

Vergil muttered "Jacqueline…" tears were still welling in her eyes as she started to whine but Vergil pulled her against his chest just holding her "don't cry.. Please it's alright I'm not mad at you"

Trish was nearly crying just at the sight of the two of them as Jacqueline cried gently "I won't do it again I promise"

Vergil kissed the top of her head "it is alright...as you said as long as I'm here you'll be okay" he told her caressing her cheek.

Jacqueline soon stopped crying and asked "Daddy… How did you move so fast like that?... I saw you on the couch and then you were over here"

Vergil replied "one day you'll be able to do that too"

Jacqueline looked excited "really daddy?! Show me again"

Vergil stood back up and held his hands in front of her and clicked his fingers and then all of a sudden Trish was laid on the couch instead of standing where she was and Jacqueline was sitting on Trish's stomach and Vergil was in the chair opposite them.

Jacqueline gasped in excitement "WOW!"

Trish looked confused and looked at Vergil who looked ever so smug "how did you do that?"

Vergil replied "a long time ago I fought a demon horse Geryon who could control localised time after I won rubble fell from above and nearly crushed me but I looked up to see they were frozen in mid air… the power passed to me"

Jacqueline stared at Vergil in awe "Daddy… you are so cool!" she said, leaping over to him sitting on his lap and cuddling him.

Vergil smiled down at her "thank you my dear… but one day you'll be "cooler"" he told her.

Jacqueline giggled "nooo… nobody is as cool as you Daddy… except mommy"

Trish all the sudden looked really smug and winked at Vergil mouthing the words "I'm cooler"

Vergil replied to Trish "so proud of yourself aren't you?"

Trish nodded "mmmmmhmm"

Vergil said "you do realise she said "nobody is AS cool""

Trish sat up "fine let's clear it up Jackie sweetie"

Jackie turned to Trish "yeah mommy?"

Trish asked "who is cooler, me or daddy?"

Jacqueline looked at her mother then at her father then back and then back again "I dunno …. Maybe we should have a contest?"

Vergil sighed "no that's alright"

Trish giggled "yeah your daddy is just scared I'm better than him"

Vergil stared at Trish before replying "your mother is a pain in my neck"

Trish folded her arms smiling "I don't have a mother"

Vergil said "I was talking to Jacqueline" he looked smug at that point making Jacqueline giggle.

Trish just pulled her face at him making them both chuckle.

Jacqueline looked over at Trish asking "mommy? You don't have a mommy?"

Trish shook her head "no baby I wasn't made like you were… I was never even a baby or a child I was just… this"

Vergil spoke out quietly but loud enough to hear "beautiful"

Trish stood smiling at Vergil as she walked over kissing his lips and he kissed her back moving his free hand up into her hair but then they were disturbed by what sounded like someone puking they stopped to see Jacqueline pretending to be sick.

Trish laughed and picked up Jacqueline kissing her face all over making her giggle"mommy stop it!"

Trish smiled saying "I know you just want some kisses too don't you?"

Jacqueline giggled "no kissing is gross"

Trish said "one day you're going to meet a boy and all you're going to want to do is kiss him"

Jacqueline shook her head "nuh uh"

Trish nodded "yuh huh"

Jacqueline giggled more "nope never"

Vergil spoke up "that's right never…good girl" he told his daughter kissing the top of her head.

Trish slowly put Jacqueline down caressing her cheek "you can't stop every guy who she kisses Vergil"

Vergil summoned a mirage blade saying "yes I can" before making it disappear again.

Jacqueline gasped "Daddy that was cool do it again"

Vergil used his power making something else not a mirage blade but a mirage blue rose flower and handed it to Jacqueline who looked amazed "Wow!... you're so much cooler than mom Daddy"

Trish gasped and placed her hands on her hips "wha- HEY!" Then she looked and saw the smug smile on Vergil's face followed by him saying "as if there was ever any doubt" . Trish then looked heartbroken and walked over to the couch and her shoulders started to shake as she started making crying sounds.

Jacqueline ran over to her "no mommy I didn't mean it"

Trish looked away "no it's fine I'm useless"

Jacqueline stuttered "N..no mommy you're not useless you're so cool mommy you're like a lightning goddess"

Vergil just watched the two of them, shaking his head.

Trish asked "really? So I'm cooler?"

Jackie nodded fast smiling "yeah"

Trish kissed her cheek "thanks baby now go get your movie"

Jackie nodded and ran upstairs and as soon as the door closed Trish jumped up from the couch and pointed at Vergil laughing "ha HA! Hear that? I'm cooler you suck"

Vergil smirked "but you do suck… quite often in fact...that's why no matter what Jacqueline says… you'll always be "cooler""

Trish went and kissed him "you say the nicest things"

Vergil replied "sometimes…" he said standing to his feet and walking into the kitchen.

Trish called from the living room "baby..have you heard from Lady much?"

Vergil thought back and replied "No..not since she introduced us to her partner."

Trish walked into the kitchen shaking her head "yeah I don't like that guy..I think Lady could do much better than that..human stain"

Vergil poured himself a glass of wine and said "perhaps...but it is her choice"

Trish sighed "yeah...I just miss her and Jackie does too maybe we should go see her"

Vergil asked "now?"

Trish shrugged "well I don't wanna be around that jerk either but I wanna see Lady"

Vergil groaned "fine but maybe you should call her first and ask if it's alright"

Trish straight away said "no cause if we do that she might say no or worse the prick boyfriend might answer… but if we go and surprise her she couldn't turn us away, come on it's been like weeks"

Vergil sighed "as you wish" he muttered.

Jacqueline came back down holding the movie in her hands "got it!"

Trish turned to her "oh sorry baby we… we're gonna go see Auntie Lady first and then we'll watch the movie when we get back okay?"

Jacqueline looked mildly disappointed at first but at the mention of seeing her aunt she looked happy again "Auntie Lady? Yes!"

Vergil came out of the kitchen and picked up Jacqueline "come on then let's go" he said carrying her outside to the car.

Once they were in Vergil looked to Trish "it seems a rather rude to just show up with no warning"

Trish replied "yeah well it's rude to not speak to your friends for this long too so we're allowed to be rude"

Vergil couldn't and wouldn't argue any further "fair enough" he said, starting the car and driving off.

Jacqueline was singing in the back of the car to a Bon Jovi song "Shot through the heart And you're to blame Darlin', you give love a bad name"

Trish smiled and started humming the tune along with Jackie singing the words "Shot through the heart And you're to blame You give love a bad name I play my part and you play your game You give love a bad name Hey, you give love a bad name." when Trish eventually started to sing along with her she looked to Vergil who was just shaking his head smiling "come on baby sing along"

Vergil replied "not on your life" and after hearing that Jackie and Trish started singing louder "YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME! OHHHHH YOU GIVE LOOOOVE...A BAD NAME!"

Vergil sighed in relief as they were finally there "thank goodness" he said getting straight out of the car.

Trish giggled with Jackie and looked back to her "what should we sing on the way back baby?"

Jacqueline said "ooh ohh what about living on a prayer?"

Trish nodded "I know that one maybe we'll even get daddy to sing with us"

Vergil was looking over at Lady's home and saw the front door was open slightly which confused him "Trish..stay here a moment don't come in till I tell you to"

Trish looked worried at that and said "why? What's wrong?"

Vergil said "just do as I say" he said walking forward summoning Yamato in his hand as he slowly entered Lady's home looking around he saw furniture all over the living room then blood on the floor and he moved to see Lady on the floor with the left side of her face bruised and swollen he quickly moved over to her "Lady!"

He knelt down next to her slowly lifting her into his arms seeing multiple bruises across her body "what happened?...where is…." realisation dawned on him now "did he do this to you?"

Lady winced in pain looking up at Vergil with tears filling her eyes Vergil knew then it was the bastard she was with that had done it to her he had so many questions but he only needed the answer to one right now "where is he?"

Lady whined at first before saying "I think...he might have gone to Donnie's bar on sixteenth street, he goes there to hang out..with his friends sometimes" she said barely more than a whisper.

Vergil took off his coat and pulled it over her and then lifted her into his arms standing up and carrying her over to the couch and laid her down gently "rest Lady...Trish will look after you till help arrives"

Trish called "Vergil? Is everything okay?"

Vergil called back "come in here"

Trish slowly walked in with Jackie and they both gasped when they saw Lady's face "what the hell happened? Lady, are you okay? I'll call an ambulance" she said, grabbing her phone.

Vergil looked to Trish telling her "stay with her, I will find you later"

Trish asked "what? Where are you goi-..VERGIL?!" she shouted as he walked out of the house.

Jacqueline walked over to Lady and gently held her hand "Auntie Lady…"

Lady winced "I'll be okay sweetheart" she tried to say

Lady's boyfriend Mark was in the bar with his friends, all who were mostly drunk.

Mark got up to get another drink and was pushed back into the table, hard knocking drinks all over his friends.

Mark looked up furious seeing Vergil "you fucking asshole!"

Vergil pointed at him "why did you hurt her?"

Mark grinned an evil grin as his friends stood up behind him ready to back him up "oh you found her did you? Had to put the bitch in her place. And I'll put you in yours too if you don't get the hell out of here" he said staring into Vergil's eyes.

Vergil felt the anger spreading within him, he turned around walking back towards the entrance.

Mark and his friends were sneering and jeering as Vergil walked away "that's right asshole keep walking" but Vergil stopped at the entrance and closed both doors and then slid the bolt across it locking the door shut so nobody could leave before turning back to Mark and his pals The bartender said from behind the counter "hey son please don't start any trouble now" but it fell upon deaf ears as Vergil said to mark "you've made your last mistake" as his eyes turned red.

Mark looked scared and took a few steps back with his friends as Vergil started walking towards them.

One of the men grabbed a bottle chair and threw it at Vergil who only kicked it back sending it flying into Mark knocking him back as the friends charged at Vergil trying to fight him.

Vergil fought them with ease as he actually knew how to fight and was much stronger than any of them.

Vergil grabbed the first one and threw him across the room before punching the second three times in the face before slamming his head off the bar counter.

Vergil felt a bottle being smashed over his head and slowly turned around glaring at the man who did it. The man stepped back, eyes wide with fear as Vergil grabbed his shoulder and punched him in the throat before bringing his knee up into the guy's face, knocking him out.

When Vergil turned back he saw Mark cowering behind the table "hey man look I'm sorry okay? I'll never touch her again, I'll never go near her again" he begged as Vergil slowly walked over to him.

Vergil stared down at this pathetic human man with nothing but hate in his eyes "I know you won't….hold out your hands"

Mark gasped "what?"

Vergil punched him in the face hard "I said...hold. Out. your hands"

Mark hesitantly moved both his hands out; they were shaking as his heart pounded wildly in his chest.

Vergil grabbed both hands and broke Mark's wrists making him scream as Vergil started breaking each of Mark's fingers on both hands till there were no working bones left in either of them.

Vergil watched as Mark writhed about on the floor in pain screaming in agony crying his eyes out. Yamato appeared in Vergil's hands and Vergil was thinking in his head about killing this human but then changed his mind, killing him would be too easy.

Vergil grabbed Mark by his hair dragging him up onto his knees forcing him to look at him as Vergil turned into his devil form and started to repeatedly punch him in the face till he looked as broken and battered as he had left Lady.

Mark was screaming in agony and fear till the screams died down and Mark was left whining and wheezing Vergil left him there bleeding and useless as he walked out of the bar muttering "scum" before he got back in his car driving to the hospital.

When Vergil arrived at the hospital he found the room they had Lady in to see Trish and Jacquiline were still with her "Vergil where did you g-.." Trish looked at Vergil's hands and arms seeing the blood on them "I hope you made it hurt" she then looked to Lady who was unconscious "Doctor said she will be fine she just needs to rest heal up"

Vergil nodded slowly saying nothing of it "take Jacqueline home...I'm going to stay with Lady"

Trish nodded "yeah make sure she gets home safe baby" she said kissing his cheek "come on Jackie sweetie"

Jacqueline looked really sad she moved and kissed her sleeping aunt on her cheek "night night Auntie Lady...sweet dreams"

Trish took her hand and led her out as Vergil passed her the car keys "I'll see you tomorrow baby"

Vergil nodded, kissing her gently on the lips.

When they had left Vergil turned slowly back to Lady and moved to sit at the chair on the side of the bed watching her.

Soon night came and a nurse stopped in "sir I'm sorry but visiting hours are over"

Vergil said while still looking at Lady "I'm not leaving her"

The nurse said "sir it's the hospital's-.." she stopped when she saw Vergil turn and glare at her "..just don't go wandering around hmm?"

Vergil nodded gently looking back to Lady as the nurse left them alone.

As hours passed Lady slowly awoke and looked over seeing Vergil watching her "Vergil?... Is this a dream?"

Vergil shook his head "No.. how do you feel?"

Lady smiled gently "I've been through worse…"

Vergil smiled back at her "that you have"

Lady reached out to Vergil who gently held her hand in his "thank you Vergil for looking after me"

Vergil shook his head "You need not thank me...but if you do not mind.. I would like to ask you some things"

Lady nodded "okay.."

Vergil asked "why did he hurt you? What happened?"

Lady sighed "he found out a secret of mine and it made him furious with me"

Vergil asked "what secret?"

Lady shook her head "I can't say Vergil"

Vergil wanted to know so he pressed "Lady you can trust me with anything"

Lady smiled at him, the tears filling her eyes once more "I know I can Vergil…"

Vergil stared back at her wondering why she would not tell him then but he listened as she told him "Vergil..I want to tell you, I really do more than anything in this world..I just can't"

Vergil didn't pry any further "I understand...you can tell me when you are ready… or you won't"

Lady smiled at him "thank you.."

Vergil nodded then sighed telling her "you won't be seeing that scum anymore"

Lady asked "what did you do?"

Vergil went silent a moment before saying "I ...it doesn't matter"

Lady understood it was probably something awful so didn't ask anymore "my hero.." she smiled at him.

Vergil frowned a little "I only wish I got there sooner...I'd have never let him hurt you"

Lady smiled at him "it's okay Vergil" she said as her eyes began to feel really heavy "I think I'm falling asleep again"

Vergil told her "go to sleep I shall be here with you all night"

Lady nodded as she fell back into slumber.

Lady awoke in the morning seeing Vergil watching her, still she just smiled at him "good morning Vergil" she said

Vergil replied "good morning Lady"

Lady slowly sat up a little and just watched him before saying "...can I ask you something?"

Vergil nodded "of course"

Lady bit her lip just staring at him. She wanted him to kiss her, she just wanted to be with him, for him to hold her in his arms and make her forget all the pain.

Vergil tilted his head "Lady?"

She snapped back to her senses "huh?"

Vergil said "you wanted to ask me something"

Lady replied "oh I ..I can't remember"

Vergil told her "well when you, do ask away"

Lady nodded "sure…"

The room then went silent. Lady so wanted to tell him the truth, it was overwhelming her.

Vergil said "you really look like you have something to tell me"

Lady nodded "I do"

Vergil moved closer to her so they were inches apart. Lady's heart pounded in her chest thinking he was going to kiss her "what do you want to tell me?" he whispered

Lady slowly moved her hand to Vergil's face and gently pulled him closer to her till their lips met in a gentle kiss. Lady's heart was soaring in her chest as she felt him begin to kiss her back and move his arms around her pulling her closer.

When their lips parted Lady looked into Vergil's eyes "I love you Vergil"

Vergil smiled back at her "I love you too"

Lady awoke seeing Vergil asleep on the chair beside the bed and sighed as she realised it was just a dream just as it would always be.

Vergil's eyes cracked open as he slowly started to awaken "mmm...Lady.."

Lady smiled at him "good morning sleepyhead"

Vergil sat up with a slight groan "good morning...hmm how do you feel?"

Lady sighed as she still felt some pain in her face "mmm about as good as I look"

Vergil replied "you must feel beautiful then"

Lady's eyes widened as she looked back to him "what?"

Vergil looked away "I apologise I shouldn't ha-"

Lady cut him off "No… thank you Vergil...it means alot.. Can I go home now?"

Vergil nodded "yes I'll take you back now" he said

Lady asked, "Did Trish take a cab home?"

Vergil replied "No"

Lady looked confused "then how are you gonna get me home?"

Vergil summoned Yamato in his hand and cut a portal open "like so" he told her as he moved to lift her gently out of the bed into his arms.

Lady winced as she wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her through the portal which led to her home "wow...wish I had something like that to get around, mind if I borrow that sword?"

Vergil chuckled a little, "I don't think so Lady."

Lady sighed dramatically but smiling "jerk" she muttered.

Vergil walked in and asked her "you want me to take you to the bed?"

Lady nodded smiling up at him "yes take me in bed"

Vergil asked "what?"

Lady looked so embarrassed "I mean to my bed..I ..these stupid drugs are making me talk crazy"

Vergil chuckled at that carrying her upstairs to her bed and laid her down gently pulling the covers over her "mmm will you be alright?"

Lady answered "yeah, thanks again Vergil"

Vergil nodded "of course, if you need anything just call"

Lady thanked him "I will thank you…"

Vergil turned to walk out but Lady quickly said "Vergil?" he stopped and came back "yes?"

Lady just looked at him before asking "come here a sec"

Vergil walked over and leaned down "hmm?"

Lady reached out and pulled him down into a hug holding him against her.

Vergil was surprised but he still moved his arms around her hugging her back he heard her make a sound and then say "I'll see you later"

Vergil told her "you will" he slowly released her and moved back "bye Lady"

Lady waved "bye Vergil" she said watching him leave, once he was gone Lady's eyes began to fill with tears again as she cried to herself.

Vergil came home feeling strange he was thinking about Lady and what secret she had that was so terrible that her boyfriend would beat her for keeping from him.

His thoughts were interrupted as he entered his bedroom seeing Trish sprawled across the bed completely nude still asleep.

Vergil bit his lip as he walked over and pulled the covers over her and caressed his hand along her back making Trish moan gently. He walked around the bed undressing himself and climbing into bed next to her but as soon as he closed his eyes he heard Trish ask "is Lady okay?"

Vergil replied with his eyes still closed "she will be fine"

Trish asked "and the asshole that hurt her?"

Vergil answered "I think I'll be in his nightmares for awhile"

Trish grinned devilishly "good maybe I should go visit him too and kick the shit out of him a little"

Vergil chuckled "I'm sure were he to see you he'd be having more dreams than nightmares"

Trish leaned over to kiss Vergil's lips "sweet talker"

"I try" he muttered, "is Jacqueline alright?"

Trish said "yeah she just wants her aunt to be okay...maybe we should go back to see Lady with Jacqueline later"

"I promised her I'd see her later anyway to check on her anyway" he said

The pair of them just laid there in bed till the door was opened and small footsteps were heard as Jacqueline came into the room and climbed onto the bed between them.

Vergil sighed "Jacqueline...could you please stand outside for a moment?"

Jacqueline looked up, upset that she had to go "why?"

Vergil opened his eyes and turned to her "because your mother forgot to wear her pajamas again"

Jacqueline groaned and sat up glaring at Trish who just giggled "Mommy! How can you keep forgetting?!"

Trish patted her as Jacqueline left "I'm sorry baby… I think your father keeps taking them off me when I'm asleep"

Once Jacqueline was outside Trish sighed and pulled on some silky black pajama bottoms with a black vest top. While Vergil just grabbed a pair of cotton pajama bottoms from the wardrobe "Jackie sweetie you can come back now"

Jacqueline came back in and climbed back onto the bed between them "daddy?"

Vergil put his arm around her and pulled her small body against him "yes my dear?"

"Could you stop taking Mommy's clothes off all the time?"

Vergil smirked looking at Trish "I'm afraid not my dear I think she looks better without them sometimes"

A cute groan was heard then as Jacqueline said "naked? But I think she looks cool with that little top she wears with the thunderbolt on it and the thing she wears on her neck"

Trish couldn't help but smile to herself as she watched the two of them argue over her appearance.

"You're right but if I don't take off her clothes I wouldn't be able to…. Play that game"

Jacqueline looked up at Vergil "the game where you lock the door and then make animal noises?"

Trish burst out laughing at that holding her ribs.

Vergil chuckled and said "that's the one"

Jacqueline sighed "well can I play next time?"

Vergil and Trish both said in unison "No"

Jacqueline just groaned "fine it's a weird game anyway Mommy says some really weird things when you play that"

Vergil slowly looked at Trish who was blushing "uhhh well I'll try not to do that anymore sweetie.. Or I'll do it quieter" Trish said.

"Please be quiet now, the pair of you I'm going to sleep" Vergil muttered, closing his eyes as Jacqueline cuddled up to him resting her head next to her father's.

Trish kept her eyes open watching the two of them and started to think of Dante and how it would have been if he had lived. Would he have been the same type of father as Vergil? Her thoughts started to make her feel sad so she quickly broke free of them and got out of bed heading downstairs trying to find a way to occupy herself, she summoned her usual clothes on herself.

She looked around the room till her eyes rested on the shelf where Vergil kept all his books and smiled walking over taking a look through them till she saw a book with a bright blue cover and went to grab it but when she pulled it out the shelf started to move making Trish quickly moved back "the hell?" she said as the secret room behind it was revealed.

Trish wondered why Vergil had never shown her this "that sneaky devil… I wonder what he's got in here" she said walking in and seeing a lot of demon artifacts and such but one stood out more than any of them the hourglass with the glowing white sands inside. She walked over to it gazing over it before she went to touch it but once she did there was a white flash surrounding her making her close her eyes.

When she opened them she was in a different place it looked like the inside of a mansion she heard arguing coming from upstairs and slowly followed the sound till she saw two young white haired boys fighting on the floor one was wearing red and the other wore blue "Give me back my book or I'll kill you!" the blue one said as he was on top of other child strangling him.

The one in red saw Trish and said "MOM! Get him off me!"

Trish looked so confused but quickly separated the two children "that's enough stop it"

The child in blue looked up to her "Dante took my book and wouldn't tell me where he hid it!"

The other said "I didn't touch it mom honest Vergil just blames me every time it goes missing"

Trish gasped now realising who these two children were and why they called her "Mom" she was deathly silent as Vergil glared at Dante saying "that's cause it only goes missing once you touch it you moron!"

A deep voice was heard from behind Trish saying "boys that's enough!..."

Trish turned to see a tall man who looked so much like Dante and Vergil with long white hair slicked back in a black suit with a long black coat "Dante ...if you took Vergil's book you will return it to him this instant"

Dante suddenly looked really guilty and sighed "fine dad"

Trish gasped realising this man was Sparda the legendary dark knight "now apologise to your brother"

Dante looked so annoyed and looked over to Vergil "I'm sorry Vergil" he said, leading Vergil away to where he hid the book.

Trish watched the boys leave and slowly turned back to the man but she barely had time to speak as he grabbed her gently pulling her into a kiss, Trish was so caught off guard she didn't pull away at all her eyes were wide with shock "you need to be harder on them sometimes" he said to her as he pulled away.

Sparda looked over her body "hmm what are these clothes you are wearing Eva?"

Trish stuttered "I ..uhh umm ..I'm not.."

Sparda watched her with a slight smile but it was interrupted as the door to his bedroom opened revealing Eva when Sparda saw her his eyes widened and he quickly turned back to Trish and grabbed her by her neck "who are you?!" he growled at her.

Trish gasped and choked moving her legs trying to break free "wait.. Please.." she said between gasps for breath.

Sparda dropped her to the ground making sure Eva stayed behind him watching Trish with a deadly look in his glowing red eyes.

Trish slowly breathed in panting as she looked up at Sparda and the scared Eva behind him "I'm not….from here"

Eva asked "what do you mean? Where are you from? She looks just like me Sparda"

Trish said "I'm from the future my name is Trish, I'm.. I'm the mother of your grandchild"

Eva and Sparda looked at each other as if now understanding.

Trish looked back at them "you don't seem shocked by this"

Sparda gently helped Trish to her feet "that's because you're not the first person from the future we have encountered…. Speaking of which...how is Vergil?" he asked with a smile.

Trish was so confused "wait.. Vergil..future Vergil was here too?"

Sparda nodded "years ago before the boys were born.. "

Trish looked at Eva who still looked terrified and asked "what is your name?... Why do you look so much like me?"

Trish was hesitant to answer as she looked cautiously at Sparda as she spoke "...because that's how Mundus created me"

The pair of them now looked more shocked than ever as they stood there in silence for a few moments before Sparda spoke up "well… Vergil didn't tell us that now did he Eva?"

Eva shook her head slowly "...and you're the mother of Jacqueline?"

Trish gathered Vergil must have told them about their daughter "yes"

Sparda asked "and it doesn't bother Vergil that you look exactly like.."

Trish interrupted to say "I thought the same thing when we were together but Vergil says he doesn't see his mother when he looks at me he just sees me for me"

Eva held her hand over her heart "well thank goodness" she said as they laughed a little.

Sparda led them both downstairs "tell us Trish… how is it you and Vergil ended up here?"

Trish replied "I don't know..uhh I was just looking around the house and I found this room that Vergil had hidden behind a shelf and found this hourglass when I touched it I saw a flash and then I was here..I'm going to have a word with him when I get back about keeping it a secret from me"

Sparda chuckled, "I'd like to see that argument" he said as they entered the living room.

Dante and Vergil were there and when they saw Trish stood next to Eva they looked confused.

Dante said "uhh dad why are there two moms?"

Vergil asked "is she an auntie? Do you have a twin sister mom?"

Eva smiled, shaking her head "no boys this is...umm.. Uhh Trish?"

Trish smiled nodding as she looked at the two boys "hello you two." she said walking over to them.

Dante started touching Trish's face making her smile at him "huh… you look just like mom.. That's so weird"

Trish leaned forward and kissed Dante's cheek "you look just like Vergil...isn't that weird too?"

Vergil said "he looks nothing like me"

Dante said "thank god because you're ugly!"

Vergil was about to hit him but Trish stopped him "no no don't fight you two"

Sparda asked "I'm sure it's similar in the future hmm? Having to stop them from fighting all the time?"

Trish stood slowly turning back to Eva and Sparda "Vergil didn't tell you?"

Eva asked "tell us what?"

Trish looked back down at Dante and tears started to fill her eyes "I.."

Sparda looked to Eva who looked so worried "what happens to him?"

Trish shook her head as the tears flowed down her face "please..I can't.. I .." Trish was interrupted as she disappeared in a flash of light.

When Trish opened her eyes she saw Vergil holding her away from the hourglass "Vergil?" she asked.

Vergil pulled her gently out of the room "you shouldn't have touched the hourglass"

Trish just stared at him "what is that thing? How come you didn't tell me about it? You know what? maybe I wouldn't have touched it if you had told me what it was!" she yelled at him.

Vergil moved the shelf back into place "I didn't show you it because I don't understand it's power yet…. The first time I touched it I saw … I saw the city in flames and ruins. There was a young woman standing on a rooftop and in the distance there was a large plant in the middle of the city that looked demonic… and the next time I touched it I was taken back through time and I...I saw my parents that is why I was afraid that time you came home I thought the present would be changed if I did anything in the past.. I wasn't sure if you and Jacqueline were even still here…. That's why I looked so frightened.. That's why I never told you about the hourglass" he told her everything, the truth and emotion clear in his voice.

Trish slowly walked over to him "I'm sorry for yelling at you baby…" she hugged him and kissed his cheek "... but if you had just told me about it and asked me not to touch it then I'd have listened"

Vergil nodded "I apologise for not telling you of it…" he told her kissing her lips again and again.

Trish kissed back moving her hands against his face "mmm you want to know what I saw?"

Vergil moved back and stared into her eyes "do tell"

Trish said "well it wasn't a vision it was like what you said I was actually there… and I met your parents too… and your father the legendary Sparda gave me a very lovely kiss"

Vergil's eyes widened "he did what?!"

Trish giggled "he thought I was your Mother"

Vergil sighed "you didn't do anything else did you?"

Trish looked like she was thinking "you mean sex? No… but mmm I might have let him if he wanted it"

Vergil glared at her "Trish.." he growled

Trish smiled at him "just teasing… no we didn't go any further than a kiss but I talked to him and your mom.. And little Vergil" she smiled.

Vergil looked away a moment "if you saw me… then you must have seen Dante too"

Trish nodded as the tears started to come back "I did… I miss him so much I'd have loved to see him again like I knew him…" suddenly Trish looked like she realised something but Vergil knew what she was thinking.

Vergil told her "Trish no"

Trish said "why not?! I want to see him! If the hourglass can do it then I want to try!"

Vergil shook his head "you can't!"

Trish tried to push past him but he grabbed her and held her down "GET OFF ME! I can save him!"

Vergil was holding her against the floor not letting her move "you can't save him! If you meddle with the past you might change something Trish! Jacqueline might disappear and we might not be together!"

Trish knew that Jacqueline would still be there but she could not tell Vergil that. She slowly calmed down and started to cry "I thought I could just bring him back with me and he'd still be alive or something"

Vergil gently pulled her up into his arms "I know...I've thought of it too Trish but I can't risk losing what I have now.. It's not worth it not even for Dante I love you and Jacqueline too much"

Trish cried against Vergil's chest for so many reasons she wanted Dante back, she wanted to tell Vergil the truth about Jacqueline but she just couldn't.

Jacqueline came from upstairs "Mommy?" she asked as she came down and hugged her Mother and Father.

Trish cried more at that "Jackie sweetie..I love you so much" she said moving her head against Jacqueline's chest.

Jacqueline just smiled her cute smile and told her "I love you too Mom.. and you Daddy" she said quickly to Vergil who chuckled and kissed her head.
