Chapter 20: Eclipse Lake
Featuring Choju twins, Black King and Red King
At Emperor Belos castle.
Emperor Belos and Dr Cushing were in the lab room where the portal door was fully reconstructed and connected to a large machine like computer, but now the problem was trying to activate it. Hunter was hiding in the corner watching as he tried to hide his palisman from him.
Emperor Belos: Let's try this again. Turn on the magic amplifier.
Dr Cushing: Yes my lord.
Dr cushing approaches the machine and activates it. Magic began to flow to the portal, Emperor Belos adds his own key into the door in hopes of activating it. But it didn't work and the key reduced to ash.
Dr Cushing: Blasted! Another failed attempt. If we only had the key.
Emperor Belos: We just need the Titan's blood to activate it. It's the only thing that can.
Dr Cushing: Shouldn't we go and obtain this blood my lord?
Emperor Belos: I already sent Kikimora and the Legion of Five to retrieve it. Once they do we can continue with our experiment. Go and refuel the amplifier with more magic and make another key.
Dr Cushing: Yes my lord.
Dr Cushing leaves the room.
Emperor Belos: Do you wanna see how this works, Hunter?
Hunter's eye's widened realizing he knew he was here.
Hunter: I didn't mean to hide Emperor Belos. Is it not working?
Emperor Belos: We found every piece of the door but without the real key, it refuses to open.
Hunter: Is it true that rain doesn't boil in the human realm.
Emperor Belos: It is. You know I've been there before. Have I ever told you that?
Hunter: No, what's it like over there?
Emperor Belos: The trees are greeen, the nights are quiet. I look forward seeing it again. Were you spying on me just to listen to my boring stories?
Hunter: I just came to ask about the operation at the knee. Why did you switch me out with Kikimora?
Emperor Belos placed his hand on Hunter's shoulder as he escorted him out of the room.
Emperor Belos: Everyone has a use, Hunter. Kikimora has her inticate plans, the Legion of Five deal with the more complex missions, the scouts and dorodoros carry out orders and you...well the Titan has big plans for you and it would be such a hassal to find a replacement. So right now you can be useful by staying here safe in the castle.
Hunter: If this is punishment for failing my last two missions, I swear I can do better.
Emperor Belos places his hand on his head.
Emperor Belos: Oh don't think that. I'm willing to put the past behind us. I know you better than anyone and I know you're my best member. And I think I know what the problem was for your past failed attempts.
Hunter's eyes widened. Does he know? Does he know about him and Christa?
Hunter: You do?
Emperor Belos: I've been putting so much on your shoulders that it's stressing you out. I don't blame you. With the craziness we are dealing with, that's why I called the Legion of Five back here. Let them deal with it and you, just do what I say.
But then Emperor Belos grunted as he held his head. The Entity was calling him.
Entity: Belos. Come to me Belos.
Emperor Belos: I must go. Goodnight Hunter.
Emperor Belos closes the door. Despite what he said, Hunter was unsatisfied. He still felt that he failed his uncle and because of this, he's sending Kikimora and the Legion of Five to get the Titan's blood. But if he got it, this would show he can trust him and be useful again. Make him proud. With that Hunter rushes off to Eclipse Lake and this time he wasn't going to let anything stop him from reaching his goal, even if he stumbles upon Christa.
Meanwile
( queue Naraku's theme)
Emperor Belos was making his way to the chamber room where the Entity resides. He stood on the platform as the room lit up and the Entity appeared before him.
Emperor Belos: What is it my Master?
Entity: I have called you here for the status on the Day of Unity.
Emperor Belos: I know you've been impatient Master, but assure you we are making progress. The portal is fixed and we are testing it to open and to enhance the power.
Entity: And how goes it?
Emperor Belos: Well, we're having a bit of a set back. I don't have the original key for it, copies I've made aren't working and...
Entity: IMPUDENT FOOL! You mean to tell me when you got the portal, you didnt get the key for it?
Emperor Belos: I may not have gotten it when I got the door. But I am trying to replicate it.
A black tentacle appeared from the back of the Entity as it grabbed Emperor Belos and lifted him up.
Entity: You disappoint me as usual Belos. You've been delaying my plans for too long now, all because of your mistake.
Emperor Belos: Forgive me Master. It's wasn't my fault.
The Entity's tentacle began to form electricity and began to shock Emperor Belos, making him grunt in pain.
Entity: Not your fault? Not only did you let the portal get destroyed, you also forgot to get the key for it. And this was all because you were outsmarted by that human girl. You lost to a mere child!
Emperor Belos: I will admit that was my fault. I toyed with her. I didn't take her seriously.
The Entity stopped electricuting him and brought Emperor Belos close to his eye as he stared into his soul.
Entity: Let me remind you of our deal Belos. When I found you all those years ago, you were nothing but worthless, weak and pathetic lowlife. I gave you your powers, granted you eternal life, posed as the Titan of this wretched corpse and made you the Emperor. In exchange you would do as I command and find me a new vessel for me to take possesion. But with the several failed attempts you've made in the past, I'm having my doubts.
The Entity's eye began to glow as Emperor Belos saw his own reflection in the pupil.
Entity: I gave you your powers and I can take it away anytime I want and expose you as the fraud you are and all the lives you took. Those witches and demons who fear you will know the truth and will rip you to pieces. Is that what you want Belos? Is it?
Emperor Belos: N-No Master...please forgive me. I promise you everything will come into plan and you will get your body soon. He'll be perfect for you. I just need more time.
The Entity's eye dimmed down as he calmed down.
Entity: Very well.
The Entity dropped Emperor Belos as he got back up.
Entity: Get out of here and continue my plans. And don't fail me again.
Emperor Belos: Yes Master.
The next day at the Owl House.
Luz was sick with the common mold. All her friends along with Amity were there to check on her and to help her. Amity in particular was worried about her new girlfriend. She along with Christa and Eda with each of their palisman accompanying them went to go check in her room and watched as Luz was waving her arms around, looking like she was hallucinating.
Luz: Whoa, it's like I have snakes for arms.
Christa: Guys, I think she's hallucinating.
Eda: Eh its a common sympton of the common mold. It's harmless.
Amity: But she's a human. What if it's fatal for her kind?
Eda: Don't worry Boots, I called Matti over to make sure she'll be okay.
Luz: Hey if I ate the key would I transport back into the human realm?
Luz was about to swallow the key to the portal until Amity snatched it off her hands and wears it around her neck.
Amity: Nope, I am not giving this back until you're better.
Luz wimpered at her as she got out a little tamagotchi toy and texted Amity. Amity got the text on her's that Luz gave her and looked ( which said U R Pretty), but she couldn't make out the message.
Amity: Oh, uh you got it.
Amity closed the door but Luz frowned seeing how Amity didn't recongize what it said. They met back in the others in the hallway.
Willow: Gotta admit Amity. Seeing you around more often is different.
Amity: I know, but I was taught to see every situation as opportunity. Today I'm going to show Luz that I am an awesome girlfriend.
King: It feels like almost a few months ago you almost got her dissected by your crazy principle.
Gus: That was a few months ago.
Alex: Whoa what? Aw man I wish I got see that. I love dissection day.
Then Hooty bursted through the window.
Hooty: Matti's here! Hoot! Hoot!
Amity: Great, and please clean that up.
Hooty: You got it.
Alex: Okay seriously, how do you guys feel comfortable being around that... bird tube thing?
Willow: Trust us, we were just as uncomfortable as you are.
Gus: But you get used to Hooty.
They went downstairs to greet Matti.
Matti: Hey guys.
Kind and Christa: Matti!
The two of them went to go hug her as did Eda.
Eda: Thanks so much for coming sis.
Matti: Of course, I'm never too busy to help you guys.
Then she saw Amity.
Amity: Uh hi, you must be Christa's Aunt. Mathilda right?
Matti: Yeah I am, but call me Matti. So you're Amity right, Luz's new girlfriend?
Amity: New and awesome girlfriend. It's nice to meet you.
Matti hugs her, which caught Amity surprised a little but did hug her back.
Matti: Same here. Now then, where's the patient?
Then they heard Luz scream and ran to her room.
Amity and Eda: Luz!
Luz: Mouse! Phillip diary entry!
They looked up and saw the echomouse was projecting another entry in Phillip's journal.
Phillip: After so long I finally found the major power source that can pierce through realms. Titan's blood. There were old tales of lakes reflecting green trees and blue skys, the Titan's veins run through the land and many believe that these portals are made when a drop of it's blood leaks into the water. That is how me and my brother came here. Though I have still not found him, I not going to give up on him either. But before I can continue my search for him, I must go back to the Titan's blood source, Eclipse Lake.
The entry ends but Luz was able to note it all down and draw a map.
Luz: I have to get to Eclipse Lake.
Luz tries to run out of the room and tries to jump through everyone, but Alex catches her to keep her here as she struggled.
Willow: Luz no. You're not well.
Alex: How the heck is she this strong?
Eda and Matti got her back into bed.
Luz: Oh Matti, when did you get here?
Matti: Just now. Now rest.
Luz: But...Eclipse Lake.
Matti: Nah ha. You're in no condition to go out to the knee.
Eda: Look just stay here. King, Chrissy and I will get the Titan blood if you just calm down.
King: Ah yes! The perfect chance to take our new powers on a test drive.
Christa: Just leave it to us Luz.
Luz: You guys are the best.
Luz hands them the map as they leave.
Amity: I volunteer as well. As Luz's girlfriend I...
Eda: I get it Boots, just grab a coat. Willow, Goops and Al watch over Luz.
Alex: Wha...Al?
Eda: She thinks she has snakes for arms. Matti...
Matti: Don't worry, she's in good hands.
Eda: Ha, I know.
The four of them leave, but Alex looking outranged got out of the room and shouted in the hall.
Alex: Whoa, whoa hey get back here. Yo, Owl Lady! Get back here! No one calls me Al!
Willow: Alex calm down. You're bothering Luz.
Alex: But I made it clear to you guys, not to call me Al.
Gus: Alex she calls me Goops, how do you think I feel?
Alex: But that's your name.
Gus: No it's Gus.
Alex: Wait really?
Gus: Yes.
Alex: Huh, for a while I thought Gus was a nickname we called you because everyone at school calls you Goops.
Gus facepalms himself.
Meanwhile at the Knee.
Kikimora, the Legion of Five and the King Brothers were at the knee and an army of scouts and dorodoros were mining. Kikimora, Selene and Shadam stood their monitoring them.
Kikimora: Dig faster. Faster!
Selene: You might want to slow down on that Kikimora. These tunnels are a bit unstable.
Kikmora: Don't tell me what to do Selene. This will finally be my chance where I prove to Emperor Belos how useful I am. Uh , I mean us of course.
Shadam: Did you not succeed on that? What about the Kenegon slugs.
Kikimora: This is more important. Why are we still out here. Where are the others?
She turns around and see's Mikela, Voffa and Satarakura each sitting on a lounge chair with hot drinks and the King Brothers standing by them.
Kikimora: What are you three doing?
Mikela: Oh just taking a break.
Kikimora: Did I say you can take a break?
Voffa: You don't need to tell us.
Kikimora: How can you just sit there and drink hot chocolate blood? There's work to be done.
Mikela: You need more? Fine.
Mikela holds out his staff as it glows and fires at the ground, forming five more dorodoros.
Mikela: Get down there and mine.
They nodded and did so.
Mikela: There. Happy?
Kikimora: That's not what I meant.
Satarakura: Oh relax Kiki. Come sit with us, join cool side.
Kikimora: I don't need to relax!
Satarakura: Whoa, you look stressed. I think you should.
Kikimora: We have an important mission and we all need to cooperate.
Mikela: And we are. The dorodoros and scouts do the dirty work and we just sit back and watch, get the Titan blood and give it to our Emperor.
Kikimora: But the Golden Guard.
Selene: Ugh, is this what's it's about?
Kikimora: I know he's here. He'll come by and ruin everything again. That's why I need you all to cooperate. I need more eyes. I need ten thousand tough guys. I need ten thousand soft guys to make the tough guys look tougher. And here's how I want them to be arranged: tough, tough, soft, tough, soft, soft, tough, tough, soft, soft, tough soft.
The five looked at her with a bit of concern.
Voffa: Kikimora I think you've just gone mad with power.
Kikimora: Of course I have. You ever tried going mad without power? It's boring, nobody listens to you. Hey Steve! Jump over that chasm before I throw you in it!
Selene: ( groans) She's becoming paranoid.
Satarakura: Yeah. Nutsy cuckoo.
Shadam: But she's not wrong though. I do sense company arriving.
Selene: The Golden Guard?
Shadam: Yes and...
Shadam's eyes widened detecting another power coming. A rather strong one.
Shadam: The girl...
He got the other fours attention when he said that.
Mikela: The red head that sunk our ship?
Shadam: She maybe getting close. We must find her and bring her in.
Selene: Yes, I'm sure the Emperor would like that as well.
As they continued talking, we see Hunter hiding behind a tree wearing a disguise of a scout, but is then startled by his cardinal palisman.
Hunter: Ah! Why do you keep following me?
The cardinal palisman chirps in response.
Hunter: I don't speak palisman. Okay so here's the plan, I slip in with this disguise, I find the Titan blood before Kiki and the five, I give it to Belos and boom! I'm useful again! Ow! AAAH!
Hunter's chest was hurting again. But then he started to cough. Something in his lungs was causing this.
Kikimora: Did you hear that?
Voffa: Hear what?
Kikimora: It sounded like an annoying voice.
Hunter covered his mouth realizing he maybe caught.
Hunter: ( whispers) Ugh, stupid chest pain.
But then he heard the roars from the King Brothers.
Mikela: It seems they smell something.
Kikimora: Or someone.
The King Brothers were approaching the trees and Red King was approaching the one Hunter was hiding, but when he looked, Hunter was gone. We cut to him running away.
Hunter: Okay, so we'll find another way. There is always another way.
But then he stops and see's from the top of the slope Eda, King, Amity and Christa. The three witches each had their staffs and were suited up for the weather. Christa was wearing a dark blue snow jacket with a hoody and had fur in the inside, black gloves, brown winter boots as well as a grey scarf and black beanie. The three of them followed Amity as she had the map that Luz drew.
Hunter: The Owl Lady, her dog and Red? And is that the youngest Blight?
King: This place is crawling with tools. What gives?
Christa: Yeah is this Titan blood really that important?
Eda: It is. Titan blood is the most powerful source of magic on the isles. I'm not surprised Belos wants it too.
Amity: Well we can't afford to mess this up. Luz is counting on me! Uh I mean us.
Hunter: This is perfect. Alright, new plan. They can lead us to...
His cardinal palisman grabs his hood and starts pulling him forward.
Hunter: What? Hey, hey, AHHH!
Hunter falls down the slope, right in front of the small party. The witches raise their staffs.
Amity: (gasps) A coven scout!
Amity and Christa form a fire spell about to attack. Hunter who is hooded so they can't see his face raises his hands.
Hunter: Uh, yes, I am but a humble scout and I surrender.
King: Well, that was easy!
Eda: Not so fast, King. Don't you recognize that annoying voice?
Christa: Hold on I do. Hunter?
Hunter: What uh no, I'm uh...
Hunter looks at the name tag attached to the uniform he stole.
Hunter: ...uh Rusty Shackleford. Yeah I'm Rusty Shackleford.
Christa: Hunter I know it's you, I can recognize that annoying voice anywhere.
Hunter: ( hurtful) Why does everyone keep saying that? I have feelings too you know.
But then he tries to run away.
Eda: Don't let him get away!
Amity summons a jar on her waist and uses the Abomination goo within to tie up Hunter and falls to the ground unhooded.
Christa: It is you.
Eda: Yup it's none other than Belos' right-hand man.
Amity: (gasps) The Golden Guard? He is a lot... scrawnier than I imagined.
King laughs while Hunter growls.
Meanwhile at the Owl House.
Matti was in the kitchen making some medicine with help from Willow. She stood in front of the stove mixing ingredients in a pot.
Matti: Okay, Willow have you cut up the ginger root yet?
Willow: Got it right here.
Matti: Thank you so much.
Willow hands her the diced ginger and puts in the pot.
Matti: Okay so now we need some feverfew leaves.
Then Matti's hummingbird palisman flies to her and lands on her finger with a few leaves on her beak.
Matti: That's it Flit.
Matti adds the fever few leaves in the pot and pets Flit.
Matti: Aw, who's my best Palisman? You are.
Willow: Will this really help Luz?
Matti: It should. This the best medicine to treat the common mold.
As they continued making the medicine they couldn't help but overhear Gus, Hooty and Alex arguing about music.
Gus: Hooty, we're not gonna make Luz listen to 24 hours of whale noises. What even is a whale? It looks terrifying!
Hooty: Well, I've never heard of underground Korean hip-hop before!
Gus: It's human music and it's soothing!
Alex: No, no you guys are gonna bore her to death with that. You need rock and roll. The kind that makes your ears bleed.
Gus: We're supposed to make her feel relaxed Alex.
Hooty: Yeah how is that relaxing?
Alex: It's relaxing to me. That's the kind of music that relaxs a real man.
The three of them kept fighting amongst themselves which started to annoy Willow.
Willow: Would you three please be quiet!?
The three of them silently stare at Willow.
Willow: What if, we play them at the same time?
Alex, Gus and Hooty: ( turn to each other gleefully) OOOOOOOOOOHHH!
Meanwhile back at the mines.
We cut back to the inside of the mines where Eda bursts through a wall with a flip and lands. The others along with Hunter still tied up enters inside.
Eda: Ha ha! Did I do it? Did I turn into Harpy mode?
King: No, you just screamed a hoot and ran headfirst into a wall of ice. Pretty funny actually.
Hunter: You know you can let me go, I won't run.
Amity: Too bad, because I don't trust you.
Hunter: Red, tell her.
Amity: Red?
Christa: Sorry Hunter I can't do that.
Hunter: Come on. Remember what you and I went through together? With the palisman and the cave?
Amity looked confused as she looked at Christa. Did she have somekind of relationship with him or something.
Christa: As much as I want to, this mission is too important to take risks on and I'm doing this for the groups sake.
As they entered they saw all the abandoned mining equipment all around.
Eda: Huh, this stuff is old.
Hunter: Ancient witches used to mine the veins for Titan blood-
Amity: (bluntly) They're not paying attention.
They look at King sitting on a drill-like device as Eda stands in front of it.
Eda: Ooh, I got an idea. Fire it at me. Maybe the adrenaline will kick in and bam! Harpy Eda!
Christa: Eda that sounds like a very dangerous idea that could backfire horribly.
Eda: Eh don't worry Chrissy, it'll be fine.
Hunter: Actually she's right, I don't reccomend you do that.
Eda: Watch me nerd! Do it King!
King: Sounds perfectly safe!
King activates the drill.
Hunter: Wait don't!
But it's too late as King fires the drill which misses Eda, but the beam started bouncing all over the walls and it was heading towards Amity, which she was able to stop using an abomination sphere.
Hunter: This isn't a normal cave! These walls are made from the veins of the Titan. Any magic you shoot will bounce right back at you!
Eda: Huh, you must be fun at parties. Hey King, how about you use your new powers to echolocate the lake?
King: Haha, okay!
King stops at a tunnel, takes a deep breath and lets a sonic wave out. A few moments pass until King looks at his companions and shrugs "I don't know."
Hunter: (deadpan) Those two are definitely gonna get us caught.
Amity: Us? There is no us. Just me and her. Now keep walking.
They kept walking into the tunnel to find the blood as Hunter's cardinal followed them from behind.
Eda: You know, Luz and Chrissy told me about a trip to Latissa where they met someone very interesting."A beat-up blonde with no magical powers," as Luz called him and these are her words: A bad but sad boy.
King laughs at him.
Hunter: The next time I see that human, I am gonna...
Amity: Watch it.
Eda: Well I'm not done there's more. Then they met you again in the Cave of Terrania where you were trapped with Chrissy and fought what was supposed to be an extinct demon. You didn't do anything funny with Chrissy did you?
Christa's face turned red as did Hunter while Amity looked at her in more confusion.
Christa: Eda!
Eda: Just making sure weren't hurt kiddo.
Hunter: Well at least I'm not delusional enough to think I can turn into a harpy.
Eda stops to turn around and hiss at him.
King: Hey come on, give it a rest you two.
Hunter: Yeah, listen to your rat.
King makes an angry indignant noise and grabs Hunter's hair, pulling it as Christa tried to pull him off.
King: Calling me a rat? I'll kill you!
Amity: Shhh!
They stopped and peaked over a stone wall and find Kikimora, the Legion of five, four dorodoros and King Brothers emerging from another tunnel and then stopping.
Kikimora: Why are we stopping? Is it the Golden Guard?
Selene: No, not everything is about the Golden Guard. We're approaching a very dangerous, we need to move carefully.
Kikimora: Careful takes too long. My butt is on the line and so help me if we fail...
Shadama: No she's right. I can others here.
The group turns to him as Kikimora grows anxious.
Kikimora: I knew it.
She turns to the dorodoros.
Kikimora: Search the area and give a signal if you find him or anyone.
The dorodoros nod to her as they looked around the area.
Eda: Great, they're onto us
Amity: They're also blocking the path to Eclipse Lake.
Christa: How are we going to get through them?
Hunter: (quietly)We should create a distraction.
Eda: (loudly)We should create a distraction! King and I will go, you kids wait for my signal.
Eda runs off with King to think of a plan of distraction leaving the three alone.
Hunter: Okay now that's we're alone, I think we...
Amity: You shut it. And Christa, a word.
Amity gave her a serious look and had her come a little far from Hunter for a private talk.
Christa: Is something wrong Amity?
Amity: I just want to know. Okay, I get you and the others encountered him like a month ago, but how is it you know him like in a personal way or what's with the nickname?
Christa: Well, he's been calling me that since the whole Selkidomus thing. And listen, I know you guys are a bit skeptical with this guy and okay yes, he does work for the Emperor and is actually his uncle, but is not bad.
Amity: Not bad? Christa this is the Golden Guard we're talking about. He's like the highest rank in the Emperor's Coven. Even higher than the Legion of Five.
Christa: I know that. I thought the same way and granted I don't agree with some of his actions or how the Emperor does things. Okay yeah, he's kind of a jerk at times and rude also...
Hunter: You know I can hear you right?
Amity: You're not in this discussion!
Christa: But deep down, he's really kind, brave and supportive. He's helped me and Luz save those palisman and let us go with them and he helped me unlock more of my power.
Amity: Christa, people like those are trying to get you to lower your guard and wait for the moment to strike.
Christa: I don't believe that.
Amity: Let me just ask, did anything else happen when you were trapped with him in the cave?
Christa: Well...um.
Amity: Christa?
Christa: ( sighs) I never told anyone this, but I may have, kind of kissed him.
Amity's jaw dropped.
Amity: You did what?
Christa: It was just on the cheek.
Amity: I don't believe this, you're falling in love with him.
Christa: No...uh...maybe. I mean I was finally meeting someone after I got over my crush on Edric knowing it probably wouldn't work.
Christa covered her mouth when she said that as Amity looked confused.
Amity: Uh what?
Christa: ( blushes) Forget I said that! Amity please listen to me as your friend, I know there is good in him. He can help us. Give him a chance.
Amity: And as your friend, I'm just looking out for you and not to fall for it.
Hunter: Uh hey, I don't mean to interrupt your gossip girl talk, but can we talk about our plan. I'm thinking if they get caught we go and get the blood ourselves.
Amity: Stop talking like we're a team.
Hunter: We might as well be. The three of us are like the most competent members of this group.
Amity: You have no idea what you're talking - (her tamagochi device beeps and she briefly places her hand over her pocket) I was gonna say, you have no...
But it beeps again.
Hunter: You gonna get that or what?
Amity glares at him as she takes out the tamagochi out of her pocket and reads the message Luz sent her, but she couldn't make out the message still. She and Christa looked at it as did Hunter who peeked from behind.
Amity: Uh, Christa can you make this out?
Christa: Uh...um, no. Luz hasn't showed me this yet.
Hunter: Ooh, that doesn't look good.
Amity: What? What doesn't look good?
Hunter: Seems clear to me. Come back with results or else... well you can figure out the rest.
Amity: No, Luz wouldn't make that kind of threat. I'm an awesome girlfriend.
Hunter: Has she told you that?
Amity didn't anser and just grunts.
Hunter: We have a lot in common, Blight. We're both trying to show what we can bring to the table. And we can't fail, 'cause there's nothing worse than disappointing someone who thinks you're special.
Amity looked down sadly. Was this really what Luz was saying? That it'll be over between them if she failed. Christa saw the look on Amity's face and then glared at Hunter and then approached him grabbing his ear.
Hunter: Ow! Red?
Christa: Excuse us Amity.
Christa pulled Hunter by his ear as they had a private talk.
Hunter: Ow! Geez! What is with you?
Christa: What's with you?
Hunter: What did I do?
Christa: Making Amity think Luz would break up with her if she failed to bring the Titan blood.
Hunter: What? You want me to lie? You gotta admit that the way that message spells out it looks kinda bad.
Christa: You don't know that.
Hunter: Well you couldn't make out the message either.
Christa: No, but I know for a fact that Luz wouldn't say that.
Hunter: You might call it discouragement, but I call it motivation. She and I we have similar goals and we don't to disappoint the person we care about.
Christa: Amity can never disappoint Luz and let me ask you this. As your uncle ever said he loves you or is proud of what you do?
Hunter was taken back of what she asked him. He didn't answer but rather looked away and grunted.
Christa: Yeah, that's what I thought.
But then they heard something fire. They looked and saw a fireball bouncing around the area.
Voffa: What? Get down now!
Kikimora, the five and dorodoros ducked down as Amity approached the Christa and Hunter.
Amity: Let's go come on!
They ran and followed Amity and were soon met up by King and Eda.
Eda: Why didn't you wait for my signal?
Amity: We don't have time. We have to get the blood before they do.
As they made into the tunnel, Amity didn't notice she dropped her tamagotchi on the floor. The fire ball kept bouncing around the walls as the dorodoros ducked as did Kikimora and the Legion of Five.
Kikimora: Don't just lay there, do something.
Mikela: And get blasted to bits. I don't thinks so.
Shadam got up and formed his arm blade and slashed the attack, canceling it.
Shadam: All clear.
Satarakura: Whoa, now that was a close one.
Selene: What caused that?
Kikimora: Who else the Golden Guard!
Shadam: I didn't sense him do that, but someone else did.
Voffa: You mean the mysterious girl.
Shadam: Maybe, let's move!
They hurried into the tunnel that would lead them to Eclipse Lake. Satarakura was behind and stopped when he stepped on something. He looked down and found Amity's tamagotchi. When he stepped on it, it showed the message and he was reading it from the right angle.
Satarakura: Oh, what's this?
He picked it up and read it.
Satarakura: U R Rad. Why yes. Yes I am. Thank you!
Kikimora: Satarakura!
Satarakura: AH! Wait for me comrades!
Meanwhile at the Owl House.
Matti enters Luz's room with a cup of medicine in one hand and a glass of water in the other.
Matti: Hey Luz, you feeling okay?
Luz: Oh Aunt Matti. I think I can fly...
Matti: I'm sure you can.
Matti sat down on the floor next to Luz.
Matti: Alright, I got your medicine ready. So drink this.
Luz sniffs it and then looks away coughing.
Matti: Don't worry it smells a lot worse than it tastes. Wait or was it the other way around? But it'll make you feel better.
Matti hands her the medicine, but Luz moves her head away not wanting to take it.
Matti: Luz come on.
Matti brought it close to her face again but Luz keeps looking away and whimpering.
Matti: Luz.
Luz: But it smells so bad.
Matti: But don't you want to feel better for Amity when she gets back.
Luz nods.
Matti: Okay so here.
Luz takes it. She looks down at it at first and then tries to drink it down. But it actually tasted bad as well. Even worse than regular medicine from the human realm. She was about to spit it out.
Matti: No, no don't spit it out. Drink.
Matti hands her the water to help it wash it down. Luz did so and once she swallowed it all, she gasped breathing heavily as Matti rubbed her back.
Matti: Good girl.
Luz: Oh that was so awful.
Matti: But you'll feel better. Do you need anything else?
Luz: No I'm good.
Matti gently placed her back on the ground to lay down and covered her up in blankets.
Matti: Just rest up okay. I'll be back to check on you later. Try taking a nap.
Matti leaves the room. Once she was gone the echomouse appeared on Luz.
Luz: Oh hey little mouse. Want to hear a song.
Luz holds the echomouse's ears and plays with them.
Luz: Little mouse, owl house, frilly blouse, boop!
Luz taps the echomouse's nose, and it starts showing the rest of Philip's diary entry on Eclipse Lake.
Philip: My journey to Eclipse Lake has been a success, and yet a tragic failure. The tunnels were filled with a substance known as Fool's blood, signifies a decaying vein. I was lucky to get out alive, my companions... were not.
The projection ends.
Luz: (gasps) Oh no, I gotta warn them, gotta call!
She reaches for the crystal ball, but accidentally knocks it over, breaking it.
Luz: Dang it! Matti! Matti! Oh no.
Back in the kitchen, Gus, Alex, Willow and Hooty gathered together listening the new music they came up with.
Gus: Everyone, prepare to hear the most artistic sound you have ever heard.
Gus plays it as they all had headphones listening. Though they were liking it, the music was pretty awful as it just combined the songs they had and it was really off sync.
Alex: ( sniffs) It's so beautiful.
But they couldn't hear Luz calling for them.
Luz: Gus, Willow, Alex, Hooty! Guys! I gotta reach Amity.
Luz got her tamagotchi and texted her.
Meanwhile at the mines.
Satarakura was following his team when he heard the device beep. He looked down saw the next message.
Satarakura: Fool's blood bad.
Mikela: What?
Satarakura: Oh I was just looking what this thing is telling me. Fools blood bad.
The others looked down at it.
Selene: Where did you find that?
Satarakura: Found it as we were entering the tunnel. It's telling me some good things about me. But what's a fools blood?
Kikimora: Never mind that, we have to keep going before he gets the blood first.
Satarakura: Wait, maybe it's telling us to not proceed. We should listen.
Kikimora: Have you lost your mind?
Satarakura: Lost that several years ago actually, but no maybe it might be onto something.
Meanwhile we cut back to the group who were still going through the tunnel and found a room full of blue orbs.
Eda: Is this... Titan's blood?
Christa: Is this it?
Amity: (looks at the map) I don't know. It says here Eclipse Lake is farther ahead.
King: Who cares? We did it!
Hunter: STOP! That's Fool's blood, don't touch it.
Eda: Oh, so you can keep it all for yourself? Pfft, hard pass!
Christa: Guys I really think you should listen to him.
Eda: He's just playing us Chrissy. Trust me I know.
Eda cracks the Fools blood with her staff, but when she did that it started to crack the floor.
Eda: Huh, should have seen that coming.
The ground cracks open wide as Eda and King falls into the pit.
Amity: No!
Christa: Guys!
The ground shaking was a making Christa lose balance. She was about to fall as Amity grabbed her by her coat and pulled her back, but she lost grip of her staff which also fell into the pit.
Christa: Howl!
Amity: I'll save them.
Amity was about to take off on her staff.
Hunter: Wait, take me with you?
Amity: What? No!
Hunter: At least untie me so I can escape. Please I don't want to be replaced.
Christa: Amity please, just let him go.
Amity was hesitant, but looked at Christa.
Amity: Alright fine.
Amity releases Hunter from her abomination goo.
Amity: So what now?
Hunter: Now...
Hunter knocks down Amity and as he ran pushed Christa aside and got onto one of the minecarts and rode off.
Christa: Hunter?!
Hunter: Sorry Red, but you snooze you lose! BYYYYYYYE!
Amity: That jerk!
Before they could do anything else, behind them was Kikimora and the five and King Brothers.
Kikimora: Well, well, well. What have we here?
Christa: Amity!
Christa got in front of her and was about to use her magic. Mikela's staff lit up as a red energy rope tied Christa up, keeping her from using her powers.
Mikela: Ah would you look at that Kikimora, it's the youngest daughter of the Blight family and the girl who made us look bad in front of the Emperor.
Amity: Christa!
Amity was about to go help her until her arms were being held back by two dorodoros and another one came and took her staff.
Kikimora: So you were our little fire starter back there. And I can see the mess you made here.
Satarakura: You see? You see I told you to let them go first. My friend here told me.
Amity gasped when she saw Satarakura holding her tamagotchi.
Amity: That's mine.
Satarakura: Oh, this? Oh I'm sorry you can have this back.
He was about to hand it over to Amity, but then pulled back when she tried to take it.
Satarakura: Sikes! Bahahahahaha! Finders keepers.
Selene: Enough fooling around. Shadam is the Golden Guard here?
Shadam: Was just here.
Kikimora: I knew it. I told you and you didn't listen. That little snake is always making me look bad. Well now I can get my REVENGE!
Selene: You do know we still need to get the Titan blood.
Kikimora: Oh um of courese.
Voffa: But let's not forget her. You know she's been causing some issues for Emperor. Shouldn't we turn her in as well?
Kikimora: Hmmm, yes this is perfect. This will truly please Emperor Belos. Take her with us!
Red King approached Christa and grabbed her by the back of her neck, forcing her to get up and pushed her to move.
Amity: Stop! Leave her alone!
Amity broke free from the dorodoros only to be cut off by Black King who roared and pushed her down.
Shadam: There is not enough carts to fit us all. Two of us must stay behind.
Kikimora: Very well, Voffa and Satarakura you shall remain here.
Kikimora shared a cart with Selene and Shadam, the King bros had theres to share and one more with Mikela, a few dorodors and tied up Christa.
Voffa: Wait, what should we do about her?
Kikimora: Oh, I don't care.
With that the group rode into the carts to get to the lake leaving Voffa and Satarakura alone with Amity.
Voffa: So...um...you know we work with your parents. That's quite an honor right?
Amity didn't answer as she looked away.
Voffa: Right, um...so uh...you like music? I was once one the top members of the bard coven before I left that to join the Emperor and...
Satarakura: Ugh, this is boring!
Satarakura pushes Amity into the pit as she screamed.
Voffa: Satarakura!
Satarakura: What? She said she didn't care what we'd do with her.
Voffa: Have you forgotten that we work with her parents?What are they going to do if they find out that their daughter is dead?
Satarakura: Oh...uh didn't think that part.
Voffa: You think?!
We cut to Amity who was still falling, but then she caught onto something . She looked and saw what she caught onto. It was Christa's staff which was jammed in between the walls.
Amity: Howl?
Eda: Boots! Is that you?
Amity looked down and not much further below her was Eda and King, her staff was also jammed in between the walls.
Amity: Guys you're alive.
Eda: Barely. Owlberts knocked out so we can't fly. Where's Chrissy?
Amity: We got caught. That Golden Jerk did us dirty and left to get the blood and we got caught by the Kikimora and the Legion of Five. They took her with her and are going to turn her in.
King: Oh no. I'm not gonna let them do that to her. Hey you know this would be a good time to bring out Harpy Eda.
Eda: I don't know how. I tried yelling it, scaring it, nothing.
King: Have you tried talking to it?
Eda: I...uh no. Well I mean I didn't try. It's a wild animal.
King: You thought I was a wild animal once.
But then they heard Owlbert screech. He couldn't support the weight much longer and was going to crack.
Eda: Okay, okay I'll try.
Eda closes her eyes and tries to talk to the Owl Beast to let her become Harpy Eda.
Eda: What? You want to make a deal? Wait I- I don't know if I can!
Owlbert hoots again as the cracks began to spread
Eda: Okay okay, I'll do it, just change NOW!
Back up top.
Voffa: ( groans) We are so dead for this. All because of your stupidity.
Satarakura: Hey maybe if Kikimora didn't say she didn't care, I wouldn't have done that. So technically it's more her fault than it is ours.
Voffa: Hmmm, you do have a point. If they ask we'll shift the blame on her and if that doesn't work we'll say she slipped an fell as we tried desperatly to save her but to no avail.
Satarakura: Hooray for lying!
Then they saw a flash in the pit
Voffa: What was that?
Satarakura: I don't know but something is coming up. What is that?
The two fell back as they looked up and saw Eda transformed into a Harpy and flies out carrying the kids in her arms and her staff and Christa's staff in her feet.
Harpy Eda: Aha, YES!
King: What did you promise it?
Harpy Eda: I don't want to talk about it.
Voffa and Satarkura sat there unable to believe what they were seeing. Satarakura saw he dropped the tamagotchi and was about to take it back until Amity snatched off the ground.
Satarakura: What, hey!
Amity: I'll be taking that back.
With that Eda flew further into the tunnel to catch up with the others.
Voffa: Oh, this is not good.
Satarakura: Well look on the bright side. Atleast she's still alive.
Voffa punches Satarakura in the arm.
Satarakura: Ow.
We cut back to the group flying in the tunnel.
Amity: I hope it's not too late.
Harpy Eda: With my speed they won't get far.
King: Don't worry Christa. You favorite lovable King is coming to save...you?
They soon made into another area in the mines where the carts have crashed and were turned over. Kikimora and the rest of the group looked hurt.
King: Guess minecart chases are a lot more dangerous than video games make them seem.
Harpy Eda: Where's Chrissy?
Amity: There!
They saw Christa on the ground, face in the dirt and next to her was Amity's staff. The landed down and went to help her up.
Amity: Christa!
Christa: Guys' you're okay.
Harpy Eda: Yeah we're fine, but are you okay? What happened here?
Christa: I-I don't know it was so brief but...I may or may not have caused that crash.
Five minutes ago.
Christa was in the third minecart with Mikela and dorodoros who were behind the other two. She was struggling to get out.
Christa: Let me out! Let me out!
Mikela: Stop that! There is no point in struggling. Once we get the blood, you will face trial with Emperor Belos. But spoiler alert, you lose.
As Mikela chuckled, some of the dirt in the air as they were riding down was getting onto her face. It started tickling Christa's nose and was about to sneeze.
Christa: A...a...a... ( gem on her forhead glows) ACHOO!
Christ let out a loud sneeze, but when she did that, it caused her to blow a strong current of wind, making the cart go even faster.
Mikela: AAAAH! What's happening? AAAAH!
The King Brothers looked back and eye widened when Mikela's cart was coming at them at high speed. The cart collided into theirs as the wind kept pushing them faster.
Kikimora: Do you hear something?
Selene: The sound of childish minions riding gleefully?
Kikimora: ( turns around) No what's that...AH!
Selene and Shadam turned and saw the two carts coming at them.
Selene and Shadam: AAAH!
The other two collided into theirs and once they made it to the next area, the three carts flew out as they fell to the ground. The villains all fell hard and Mikela and Kikimora got crushed by the minecarts, with him knocked out the restraints on Christa vanished. Christa was screaming as she fell to the ground and landed on her face again.
Christa: Ow...my face.
Flashback ends.
Harpy Eda: Ooh. That's gotta hurt.
King: Can't believe you just destroyed those guys with a sneeze.
Harpy Eda: Looks like you got air magic too. Didn't thing such a type exists. Speaking of air and flying, I believe this belongs to you.
Eda gives Christa her staff back.
Christa: Howl. Oh I'm so relieved your okay. Thank you Eda.
Amity: Let's not stop now. Eclipse Lake is over there.
Christa: Let's go, I got a few words to say to that jerk!
But the ground bursted open and out came Black King and Red King, roaring at them.
Harpy Eda: You three get to the lake. I'll deal with these two.
Christa: Eda are you sure?
Harpy Eda: Just trust me. Now go!
The three did as she said as they went to the lake. The King Brothers prepared to fight Harpy Eda.
Harpy Eda: Alright Owl Beast. Let's see what we can do.
Black King roared as he charged at Eda. He tried swipe her with his claw,but she caught his and tossed him aside. Red King roared and tried to hit her with his tail. She grabbed his tail and spun him around and threw him at his brother who was getting back up.
Harpy Eda: Dang I've been working out.
Red King and Black King got back up and breathed fire at Eda, she flew up to where they can't reach her. The King Brothers looked up and roared at her.
Harpy Eda: Ha, you dopes can't reach me.
Black King's horn began to glow and fired a beam at Eda. She dodged and the beam bounced off the ceiling and back at Black King, making him fall back. Eda dive bombed at Red King, knocking him down. Eda began punching the choju and then lifted him up and threw him aside. As this happened, Mikela, Selene and Shadam were regaining conciousness.
Mikela: King Brothers...what are you doing? Just kill her.
Shadam: Look at the Owl Lady, she looks different.
Selene: What is this? She shouldn't have powers. I thought the curse was supposed to make her into a raging monster. What is this form? It's rivaling the King Brother strength. How is that possible and...and does Lilith have something like this?
The King Brothers got back up and held onto each other. They began to spin as a blue aura formed around them. Eda tried to claw at them, but she was knocked back by the spin. More beams were being shot by them at her, but managed to dodge.
Harpy Eda: Great, not this part. You want to play that way fine.
Eda flew up to the top.
Harpy Eda: Alright, eat this!
Harpy Eda was coming down at them yelling with a flying drill spin. Though they kept firing at her, they kept missing. And finally, Eda hits them at the top center of the spin attack where there heads were. She landed back down with a dramatic pose as the King Brothers stood behind her, then their heads fell off thier bodies and onto the ground, then their bodies fell. She decapitated them with her attack. She turned and watched as their bodies melted into paint.
Mikela: King Brothers! Damn you Owl Lady. I will remember this.
Harpy Eda: Ha, looks like your pets weren't as tough as they make themselves to be. Now who's next?
Shadam got up. They had to retreat since they were all to injured to fight.
Shadam: This isn't over Owl Lady. We will be back for you and your friends soon.
Shadam picked up Kikimora
Kikimora: Ugh no...Titan Blood...Golden Guard...
Shadam: We're in no condition to continue.
Selene: Oh and Eda. Tell your sister, I said hi.
After that, the four of them vanished, teleporting away.
Meanwhile.
Amity, Christa and King finally made it to Eclipse Lake. At least what they think it is. There was a large crater on the bottom that looked like a lake, but there was nothing there. All they saw was Hunter digging.
King: Is this it?
Amity: According to the map yeah.
Christa: YOU! You know that was a real dirty trick you pulled off back there. My friends fell into a pit and we freed you and this is how you repaid us? I can't believe you used us like that and...what, what are you doing?
Hunter: Don't worry, I'm not here to pick a fight. There is no Titan blood. It's all dried up.
Amity: Then what are you digging for?
Hunter began to talk as if he was going a bit crazy but seemed to be having a meltdown.
Hunter: Oh it's simple really. Belos needs Titan blood to make a new portal key. Can't get to the human realm without it.
Amity: There's blood in the key?
Christa looked over at Amity who saw the latter clutching it tried to keep it into her jacket.
Hunter: Since I failed my last mission I thought: "Hey, a chance to make up for it!" But I can't go back empty-handed! (laughs hysterically) Not again. Long story short, this is my grave. Now if you excuse me.
Hunter slumps into the dirt.
Hunter: I'm just gonna lay here until I die. Goodnight everybody!
King: This is really bumming me out.
Hunter: That's just life, rat. Everyone has a use, and if you don't (blows raspberry)bye bye! Your friend gets it.
King: (looks at Amity) What's he talking about?
Amity: (takes out her device)Luz has been sending me these strange human codes. I don't understand all of them but, this one seems pretty clear. Come back with results or we're done.
Christa: Amity, that's not it.
Amity: It sure looks like it.
King rotates it 90 degrees and this time Amity was able to read it.
Amity: U R Rad.
Amity reads the next one.
Amity: Fools Blood Bad. U OK? Come Home? She-She's just been checking on me if I was okay.
Christa: Of course. Amity this is Luz we're talking about, you really think she would leave you like that?
Amity: You're right, I was so foolish thinking that way. And, you maybe right about something else.
Amity approaches Hunter who was still on the ground. Christa followed her as they kneeled down to him.
Amity: You know, you were right. We do have a lot in common. I grew up thinking everything was an opportunity to justify existing, but there are people out there who won't make you feel worthless, you just... have to let yourself meet them.
Hunter looks up to her, but then he saw the key hanging on her neck.
Amity: What are you...
Christa: Amity.
Christa pointed out the key was exposed. Amity realizes his intention and gasps. Hunter lunges at her attempting to grab the key, but misses when she dodges.
Amity: Oh come on, being nice usually works for Luz!
Christa: Hunter stop! What are you doing?
Hunter: I'm not leaving without that key. Hand it over now!
Hunter was about to lunge at her again , when King arrives and lets out a sonic wave. But when he did Hunter's palisman arrived and turned into his staff, blocking the attack. Hunter grabs it and tries to teleport but barely moves much.
Hunter: Real staffs are weird! Ah!
Amity ties Hunter up but he makes a few escape attempts before succeeding. He fires several energy blasts from the air. Christa uses her ice magic and tries shielding everyone from the blasts. But then Hunter appeared behind Amity and tried to take the key, King jumped at him again, but he threw him off. Christa tried stopping him with a wave of fire balls. He deflected most of her attacks and the teleported, appearing behind Christa, pushing her down. He then set his attention to Amity as he tried to hit her with his staff. She kept blocking his attacks with her abomination goo, but Christa came and formed her fist into stone using construction magic and punched Hunter. Amity forms a large abomination and traps him inside. The two of them got onto their staffs as Christa got hold of King and tried to escape. However, Hunter manages to escape by going underground and punching them with a stone fist sending them in the air. King lands with his horns lodged in a vein , Christa falls onto the ground near King while Amity lands using her goo to land safely. Hunter appears behind her again.
Hunter: You really want to help? Then give me that key!
He uses his staff to yank the key away, but Amity grabs it as Hunter pins her arm to the wall, with her keeping a goo spike at his neck. The two glare at each other, Hunter panting.
Christa: Don't move.
He saw Christa right behind him, giving him a serious glare and fire magic in her hand close to his head.
Hunter: (worn out) Listen, you two are strong, and I'm tired. If this continues, you'll probably escape. But here's the thing. We know where to find you, and your human.
Amity gasps.
Hunter: You can kill me if you want. But if you do this, we will let the Legion of Five come after her and you haven't even seen them at their full potential.
Christa: Amity don't listen to him!
Hunter: So just hand over the key.
Amity held the key tight, so tight that a crack was heard.
Amity: Fine, just stay away from Luz.
Amity drops the key and he takes it.
Hunter: Appreciate it. I mean that too.
Christa: You're not leaving with that. Drop the key.
Hunter: ( turns to her) Red, don't make this harder for us.
Christa: I said drop it!
Amity: Christa...
Hunter: Just give it up Red. You don't want anything to happen to...
Christa: DROP IT!
Suddenly from the palm of Christa's hand shot out a beam of lightning. Hunter was caught off guard as it shot him in the face, sending him flying back. Amity and King were startled to see her like this as Hunter covered his head and grunted in pain. The lightning that hit him was just as painful as the torment Belos gave him before. He looked and saw Christa approaching him, angry, her hair flowing, eyes and gem glowing and a white aura forming around her.
Christa: You're not leaving with that key!
Amity: Christa stop!
Christa: I can't do that.
Amity: Christa please, for Luz's sake.
Christa looked at Amity who had a pleading look to her. Christa's anger softened up as she closed her eyes and her powers dimmed down, but set her attention to Hunter and still looked upset.
Christa: I was wrong about you. Everything I thought about you was I lie. I can't believe I trusted you. I can't believe I actually liked you. I thought you cared about me but you really only care about yourself and the Emperor's ways.
Hunter: Red...
Christa: Don't ever call me that again! Just get out of here! And if I ever see you again or you come near or hurt my friends I will killl you!
Hunter slowly got up and onto his staff. He looked at Christa with a sad look but looked away and flew off. Christa fell to her knees and coverd her face. As this happened, Eda finally returned.
Harpy Eda: Haha, yes! I heard fighting, I'm ready to go. Where's that nerd?
She sees King trying to get out of his position while Amity sits on her knees wearing a grim expression and Christa with a dissapointed one.
Harpy Eda: Ah. Dang it.
Back at the house.
We cut back to Luz who is asleep, but then she wakes up as sits up, feeling better.
Luz: I feel great!
Then she notices the pile of mushrooms that grew on her head.
Luz: I wonder if this is permanent. (gasps) I gotta find everyone!
Luz runs out of the room, shaking off the mushrooms on her head, but bumps into Matti with the others accompanying her who was bringing her soup.
Matti: Whoa, easy Luz. You should be in bed.
Luz: I'm okay Matti, but have the others returned?
They go downstairs and see's King, Christa and Amity struggling to get Eda inside since she's still in Harpy form.
Harpy Eda: Ow,ow, ow! Just get an elixir. Ugh I got into harpy mode and now I can't get out.
King: She also ate like nine voles on the way home.
Harpy Eda: Hey I had to keep my end of the bargain.
They got her in as Luz rushed over to Amity giving her a big hug.
Luz: Amity! I'm so happy my awesome girlfriend is okay.
Amity smiles happy to see Luz and she called her an awesome girlfriend and hugs her back.
Amity: Me too.
King: No King hug? What is this? I knew it, you're a traitor and a thief.
Luz: Come here buddy!
Luz picks up King and hugs him, rather too tight.
King: Wait, I immediately regret this!
Harpy Eda: So you want to break the news to her or should I?
Amity: News?
Harpy Eda: The empty lake, the Golden Guard and losing the portal key. Ugh, today was a disaster.
Amity: Actually, we might be alright.
Amity showed when she cracked the key, she got some of the Titan blood on her glove.
Outside.
Christa was outside looking down upset with Howl sitting next to her as Amity holding Ghost went to check on her.
Amity: Christa you okay?
Christa: You were right Amity, he was using me to get what he wants. But after what he and I went through I thought, deep down he was a good guy. I just can't believe him I...who am I kidding this is my fault.
Amity: No it's not.
Christa: I trusted someone who works for the Emperor, I urged you to listen and let him go and because of me, we lost the key. You must really think I'm an idiot, do you?
Amity places Ghost down ( who then went to sit next to Howl) as she places her hands on her shoulders.
Amity: Christa of course not. You're not an idiot and don't ever think that. This isn't your fault.
Christa: But we lost the key.
Amity: We still got the blood, all's not lost. Christa I was thinking of what you told me back there while you were privately speaking to him, and your words hit me when you said you wanted to see the good in him and give him a chance but I said not too. But then I thought that's like saying someone told Luz not to give me a chance. Without her I wouldn't be happy and you tried. It's his loss that he couldn't see that.
Christa: Yeah well I hope he got he wants. I'm never seeing him again after what he did. Sorry you had to see that part of me. When I snapped.
Amity: It's fine. It was scary sure, but you had every right reason to be mad.
Christa: But you want to know something else. He said that you two were alike. Maybe in some ways but there's one big difference between the two of you.
Amity: What's that?
Christa: You have friends who love and support you whenever your in tough situations or feeling down.
Amity smiled and hugged her.
Amity: Thanks Christa. That really means a lot.
Christa: Of course Amity.
The two break the hug and continue to talk a different subject.
Amity: ( smirks) By the way, what was that you said about you once crushing on my brother?
Christa: ( blushes) Uh, did I say that?
Amity: You did. He may look cool but here's a secret, he's afraid of the dark and needs a night light and can't go to bed without his foofie.
Christa: What's a foofie?
Amity: It's what he calls his blanket. And he always cuddles it to start his day.
The two began to laugh as the continued to talk.
Meanwhile back at the knee.
Hunter kneeled down in the snow. He had the key with him, but was cracked and leaking Titan's blood. But right now he was putting more snow on his head. The lightning Christa hit him with hurt really bad. He looked at his reflection from the ice of an ice pond and saw he now had a red scar on the upper right of his head. He looked at himself with a frown because of what just happened between him and Christa. He never saw her this angry. So angry at him. As he kept looking at his reflection, his cardinal palisman approached him and chirped.
Hunter: Oh hey bird. It's fine, It's just a burn. But you know, I got the key but it's strange, I finally accomplished something yet still punished the same way. I should be proud of this, but why don't I feel like I've truly accomplished something.
The cardinal chirped to him.
Hunter: Hey I had to. You know I couldn't let this...whoa, whoa wait. Did I just understand you?
The cardinal chirped again.
Hunter: I think I understood that. Is that your name? Can you say other things?
The cardinal kept chirping, talking to him.
Hunter: Ha, wow that's pretty ama...ARGH!
Hunter held his chest as he began to feel the chest pain again. But it was feeling worse this time. Then he was having trouble breathing. He fell to his knees and began to cough. After a moment the pain went away and he breathed heavily after what happened. But then his eyes widened with a horrified look of what he saw. He looked down at the snow and saw blood...his blood.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. I'm so glad I finally got to this and had a lot of fun here since this was my favorite episode in the show. Oh and in case you were wondering if you couldn't tell in the beginning, no Emperor Belos was not unmasked here like in the show, I'm saving that for later. Now is the next chapter a retelling of Yesterday's Lie? Not yet and the reason for that is because I still don't know how to retell or do anything different with that episode considering the setting is limited, how it's played out and I can only work with a handful of characters not even sure if I can use Christa. If anyone has any ideas of how to retell the episode, feel free to comment or pm me. In the mean time I got a couple arcs to tell before I get there and I have many more and my own ideas for the second half, but we'll get to that later.
