Chapter 27: Taking Extreme Measures
At Blight Manor
Amity: You guys are telling the truth then.
Emira: Yes, Amity we didn't write a letter to Luz.
Edric: Yeah we were pulling another prank at library.
Emira: Well we were supposed to but Ed freaked out when he lost his foofie.
Edric: Hey the foofie is everything. I can't start my day without it.
Amity: Yeah that sounds just like you guys.
Emira: Do you really think we'd do something like that? Sure we like to joke around with you and your friends but we'd never do anything that would get someone hurt.
Amity: I know it wasn't you who hired that Beast Keeper. What I don't get is who wrote to Luz to come to him?
Emira: It was those Legion of Five guys wasn't it?
Amity: Most likely, it's just the letter part threw me off because do any of them have such neat hand writing that closly matches mine?
Amity just kept looking at the letter. As this was happening, Odalia was eves dropping on them and went downstairs. She went down to the basement lab where Alador was and got out the vile of poison.
Alador: Odalia your not serious on this are you?
Odalia: Our dear Mittens has been acting rudely to us and it's all because of that human Luz. I didn't think I had to use this, but it seems it's time we'd take matters into our own hands.
The next day.
At Hexside the bell rang for lunch. Luz, Amity and Christa were on their way to the cafeteria.
Christa: Ugh, today's test was so hard. I'm hoping I got a good grade.
Amity: Has Aunt Alice been any help to you?
Christa: Oh she has. She's really nice Amity.
Luz: Yeah, I mean I remembered when we found out she was out tutor and got scared.
Amity: She's pretty nice and understanding, but you do not want to get on her bad side. She can be pretty terrifying at times.
Luz: Really is she?
Amity: She is.
Christa: I'm so glad it's lunch now. I skipped breakfast.
Luz: Oh I know. I'm excited because it's nacho day. I mean I don't normally eat the food here, but these demon nachos are really good, almost as great as the ones back home. Also it's probably the only thing on the menu that doesn't try to eat you first.
After waiting in line they got their food and sat down.
Amity: Oh Luz, can we try again? Our lesson.
Luz: Okay I'll start. ( clears throat) Hola. ¿Cómo estás?
Amity: ( deep breathe) Estoy bien gracias.
Luz: Mi nombre es Luz. ¿Cómo te llamas?
Amity: Mi nombre es Amity.
Luz: ¿Tienes planes esta noche Amity?
Amity however didn't know what to say...
Amity: Uh...er...line?
Luz: I asked if you had any plans tonight.
Amity: Oh, sorry I'm still learning.
Luz: Hey you did great. You're improving a lot on your spanish.
Christa: I mean it's definitly better than mine.
Willow: Hey guys.
Willow, Gus and Alex got their lunch and sat with the group.
Christa: Hi guys.
Amity: Hola Amigos.
Alex: Uh...
Alex looked behind him confused.
Alex: Were you talking to us?
Amity: Yes Alex. I was saying hello to my friends.
Luz: I've been teaching Amity spanish. It's one of the many languages in the human realm.
Gus: Oh I've heard of that. Can you believe some families in the human realm depending where they're from speak in different languages. Oh here is one of my favorite greetings. Ahem, what's wrong with you stupido?
Everyone just looked Gus akwardly
Luz: Uh, not exacty a greeting Gus but nice try.
Luz then eats some of her nachos as the group kept talking.
Willow: So how goes portal building?
Luz: You know I think we got all the notes. According to Phillip this was his first attempt on building a portal. I haven't gotten to the rest of the journal yet, but there might be more to it, but I do have the notes for his first attempt and it's what I got for now.
Alex: Do you have those plans on you?
Luz: Well no, they're back at the house. Plus I'm not sure where to start since it looks hard and complicated.
Alex: Why don't you come over to my place sometime this week. I can go over them with you.
Luz: You mean you'll help Alex?
Alex: Sure thing, I mean if I learned anything from here friends help each other right? Plus this will be great practice to put my skills to the test.
Luz: I'll bring them over to you. I really appreciate it Alex thank you.
Gus: Oh hey, when you do get the portal working can I check out your world? I always wanted to see a giraffe in real life.
Luz: Hey when this is done, I'll take all of you on a trip there. Willow there are green houses full of plants and Alex you might be intersted on vehicles and machines humans use to construct things.
Amity: Luz told me what is was like. She said she'll show us an anime. Whatever that is.
But then Amity heard Luz grunt. She looked over and saw her holding in stomach, in pain.
Amity: Hey you okay?
Luz: Ow, my stomach hurts.
Alex: You gotta use the bathroom?
Luz: No not that, something else.
Alex: Oh! Oh uh okay. ( whispers) That time of the month.
Willow elbows him.
Alex: Ow.
Luz began rubbing her head as she really began to feel woozy.
Christa: Luz are you okay? You don't look so good.
Luz: I probably need some water. Hang on.
Luz got up and was about to leave.
Luz: I just need to...just need to...
But the Luz fell to the ground unconscious and everyone now worried got up to check on her.
Amity: Luz? Luz?!
Christa: Luz are you okay?
Willow: Luz are you alright?
Gus: Is she alright?
Alex: Hey, Luz you okay? Can you hear us? Wake up!
Later that day.
After Luz fell, Eda was called on what happened and once she heard she rushed over to Hexside and took Luz with her to Matti for intensive care. After school Amity and her siblings stopped by the Owl House to check on her. They knocked and Eda opened the door.
Eda: Boots.
Amity: How's Luz?
Eda frowned and just lets her in. The three of them entered and saw Christa and King standing aside looking over scared for Luz, Matti stood over Luz and formed a large spell circle above her as blue particles dropped down on her and Lilith was looking through the books about her condition. Luz herself was lying on the couch sick. Her eyes were closed and her skin looked pale and had blue lips. She also appeared to have trouble breathing. Seeing Luz like this scared everyone, especially Amity.
Amity: How is she?
Eda: She's not doing to good. She's very sick.
Matti: I'm keeping her stable right now to prevent her sickness from worsening until we can find out what's really wrong with her. Amity did Luz consume anything suspicious or something she shouldn't?
Amity: We were just having lunch. It was demon nachos.
Christa: But she's gotten it before and we all had the same thing.
Matti: Something is really not right, because I assume it would be food poisoning, but this looks too intense to be it.
Lilith: And I'm looking through what she could be suffering judging by the symptoms.
King: You can heal her can you Matti? You're an expert at these things.
Matti saw the sad and worried look on King's face. She just placed her hand on his head.
Matti: I'll do everything I can King.
King looked down sad as Christa hugged him close to her.
Amity: Well, I just came to check on her.
Emira: I really hope she gets well.
Edric: Do let us know if she does.
Eda: Hey we will. You three can head on home.
Amity held onto Luz's hand and held it tight.
Amity: Please be alright Luz.
Amity lets go of her as she and the twins leave back to their house.
The three soon made it to Blight Manor. Edric and Emira entered first and Amity came in afterward since she was walking slow. She couldn't get her mind off Luz and just prayed she'd be okay. Once she entered she was about to head upstairs until she heard her mom.
Odalia: Oh Mittens, welcome back.
Odalia and Alador were sitting in the living room, looking like they were waiting for her as Amity looked annoyed.
Amity: What is it now mom?
Odalia: Can't a mother not greet her daughter coming back from school? Come here. We'd like to see you.
Amity groaned but approached them.
Amity: I aced today's test, you don't have to worry about that.
Odalia: Oh well that's good, but tell us how is Luz feeling?
Amity's eyes widened when she asked that.
Amity: How did you know Luz was sick?
Odalia: I'm an oracle. I know a lot of things. Or perhaps I may of...( pulls out vile) set it up.
Amity looked at the empty vile of poison her mom was holding and gasped.
Amity: You didn't.
Odalia: I did. The only problem was trying to give it to her. So I bribed the lunch lady and disguised myself as her. After that I hurried back here before things would get messy.
Amity just looked at with disbelief
Odalia: I tried reasoning with you Amity. But you forced us to take extreme measures. I mean we tried to get Monsieur Bolst to make her death look like an accident.
Amity: So it was you who hired him.
Odalia: Yes but since that failed I went with method two.
Amity: So you poisoned her?!
Odalia: Yes. With venom from the demon Baraba. Very lethal and could kill a witch in four hours and it's already been two and a half so...oh she only has an hour and thirty minutes left.
Amity: NO! You poisoned her! You...
Odalia: Now hold on, I have the antidote right here.
Odalia shows her a vile of the antidote.
Amity: Give it to me.
Odalia: Of course. You can have it. If you break up with her.
Amity: You've got to be kidding me. That's why you're doing this? You poisoned my girlfriend just so you could have me break up with her?!
Odalia: This is what's best for you Amity.
Amity: No! You two have gone too far this time!? Give me that antidote!
Odalia: Na ah, will you do as we say?
Amity looked down and thought deep and fast. Luz's life was on the line this time. If she refused to break up with her, she'll die, but if she agrees she'll have to break up with her but at least she'll live. She couldn't stand the thought of losing her, but also couldn't stand the thought of breaking ties with her putting her out of her life. Luz was everything to her and Amity said to her she would never let anyone hurt her. Then she clenched her fists.
Amity: You've been hurting Luz and that is unacceptable. Give me that antidote.
Odalia: Not until you answer our question.
Alador: What will it be Amity?
Amity: GIVE IT TO ME!
Amity formed her arms into abomination arms and stretched them at her parents. Odalia and Alador were caught as she pinned them against the wall.
Alador: Amity...
Odalia: Unhand us this instant young lady.
Amity: I'm not going to make you control me again! Your giving me that antidote or else!
But then one of their personal abomitons appeared behind her and grabbed her from behind with it's huge hand, engulfing her body only leaving her head up. She lost grip on her parents as they got back up and Odalia approached her.
Odalia: That was very rude of you Mittens. You dare attack your mother?
Amity: I never asked someone like you to be my mother.
Odalia angered of what she said slapped her across the face again.
Odalia: Take her upstairs to her room and don't let her out of your sight.. It seems our precious Mittens needs a time out.
The abominton carried Amity upstairs as she struggled to get out.
Amity: No! Let me out! Mom! Mom!
Amity was taken to her room. The abomiton still kept her in it's arm. Amity couldn't get out nor could she use her magic to stop it. After a couple minutes of trying to get out, she stopped trying and broke down crying. She felt she should have said yes and broke up with Luz. They'd both be heart broken, but atleast she would live. But she had to act like a hero and now Luz was going to die. But about twenty minutes later the door opened and Odalia entered.
Odalia: Let her go. I will take it from here.
The abominton lets Amity go and leaves the room.
Amity: What do you want now?
But then Odalia spoke, but not in her voice.
Odalia: ( Edric's voice) Pssst, Mittens it's me.
Amity's eye's widened when she heard Ed's voice and to her surprise it, Odalia's body disappeared and revealed to be Edric in disguise.
Amity: Ed?
Edric: Shhh, come on. Em's outside.
Amity looked through her window and saw Emira waving to her. Amity got her staff as she and Ed got on and flew out of the window and met up with Em.
Emira: You okay Amity?
Amity: Ed, Em what are you doing?
Edric: Busting you out. What does it look like?
Amity: Yeah but, do you know how much trouble you're going to get into for this?
Emira: We know, but we also can't stand watching you suffer. You're still our sister.
Amity looked at them and hugged them both tight.
Amity: You guys. I love you both so much. But Luz...
Edric: We over heard. Mom did it.
Emira: That's why I called Alice.
Amity: You called Alice?
Emira: Let's get away from the area. I told her to meet us a few block away from here.
The three left and went over to the meeting spot where Alice would meet them at. Not long after they arrived at their meeting spot, they heard a faint roar and looked up and saw Strinax landing and Alice getting off.
Alice: Are you kids alright? Emira you said this was urgent.
Amity: Aunt Alice!
Amity ran up to her and held onto her.
Amity: Aunt Alice, Mom has poisoned Luz, she's dying and she's has the antidote and...
Alice: Whoa, Amity slow down. What's going on?
Alice then noticed Amity's cheek. It had a slap mark on it. Alice placed her hand on her cheek.
Alice: Amity your face. Did they do this to you?
Amity looked away from her.
Alice: Amity please answer me. Did they do this to you?
Amity looked back at her and nodded. Alice clenched her fist but did her best to keep her cool.
Alice: Okay, tell me everything that's been happening.
At the Owl House.
Christa: Her condition is getting worse.
King: Luz, hang on please.
Eda and Lilith were still looking through the books about what her sickness could be while Matti kept using her magic to create more blue particles to fall onto Luz to keep her on life support.
Eda: Come on, come on. I'm not resting until I find out what's the cause of this. Lilith you got anything yet?
Lilith: I'm still looking.
Matti: Guys come on. I don't know how much longer this can keep her stable.
Then Hooty opens the door abruptly.
Hooty: Hey, we got guests!
Amity, the twins and Alice run inside.
Christa: Alice?
Alice saw Luz and she looked really bad.
Alice: She actually did do it.
Eda: Whoa what? Who did what?
Alice: Odalia poisoned her with Baraba venom.
Christa: What?
Matti: You mean one of the top five most deadly venoms in the demon realm?
Eda got up and approached her.
Eda: Why? I don't get why though?
Amity: It was so she could get me to break up with Luz. She said she'd give her the antidote if I did as she said.
Alice: There's no time to stand around and talk.
Alice got her brief case out and opened it up revealing more viles and medicines she has.
Christa: Wait do you have an antidote?
Alice: Unfortunately no, but I do have a vile of the venom itself.
Alice showed them the vile of venom.
Alice: But by the time it would take me to get all the way back to my place, make it and come here it would be too late. But I heard one of you is a healer.
Matti: I am.
Matti approached Alice.
Alice: Can you make an antidote out of this in less than hour?
Matti: I can get it done in thirty minutes with some help. Lilith I'll need some assistance.
Lilith: Of course, just tell me what you need to do.
Matti and Lilith left the room to make an antidote.
King: Will she make it?
Eda: Matti knows what she's doing. She a professional. ( to Alice) Thanks for helping. So you're Boot's aunt huh?
Alice: I am and you're Luz and Christa's mother?
Eda: Uh, well more their guardian. ( mumbled) I mean wouldn't mind to be one.
Alice: I'm so sorry this happened to her.
Eda: Don't apologize, this isn't your doing. I knew Odalia was bad, but going as far as poisoning Luz just get her dumped is crossing the line!
Amity sat on the floor next to Luz and held her hand.
Amity: Just hang on Luz. You're going to be okay. Just hang on.
Amity could feel a weak grip from Luz's hand trying to hold her hand.
Alice: Alright, you kids stay here.
Alice turns around and leaves.
Amity: Where are you going?
Alice: I'm going to have a talk with your parents.
Eda: I'm coming too.
Eda then turned into her harpy form.
Harpy Eda: I'd like to give a talk to her as well. No one poisons my kid and gets away with it.
Alice: If you really want to.
The two exited the house. Alice left first but when Harpy Eda tried she got stuck because she was too big.
Harpy Eda: Ah geez.
Alice: Are you alright?
Harpy Eda: I'm stuck. Aw farts, I should have done this outside.
Alice: Hold on.
Alice tried pulling Eda out.
Harpy Eda: Ow, ow, ow! Stop that.
Alice: I'm sorry, what do you want me to do?
Harpy Eda: Just let me get the other arm out. Just give me a minute.
Later
The two of them made it to Blight Manor as they were outside the gates.
Harpy Eda: Finally here. Let's get them.
Alice: Hold on wait, they might have...
But once Harpy Eda entered it set off the alarm.
Alice: ...set the security on.
Then a large energy ball rose from the ground and showed Odalia and Alador's face.
Odalia: Who's there?
Harpy Eda: Geez what a welcoming greeting.
Alice: Odalia, Alador let us in.
Alador: Alice? What are you doing here?
Alice: I heard what you've been doing to Amity and Luz.
Odalia: What ever do you mean?
Harpy Eda: Don't play dumb with us. You poisoned my kid! She's at the house dying from the poison you used on her! You're going to pay for what you did.
Odalia: Is that a threat?
Alador: Alice as your brother I suggest you and the Owl Lady leave while you can.
Alice: We're not leaving until I face the both of you personally. Alador tell her to let us in!
Alador: I'm sorry sister. I can't do that.
Odalia: We don't have time to deal with the two of you. But they will do it for us.
Then six abomitons appeared from the ground, ready to fight the two.
Alice: ( groans) I swear they are so stubborn.
Harpy Eda: Well then, guess we'll have to do this the hard way.
The two engaged the abomitons in combat. Harpy Eda took on two with her enhanced abilities was able to match their strength. She dodged and blocked each of their attacks. She punched, kicked and threw one of them, but then she was hit in the back by the second one's laser. She fell to her knees as the second one was about to hit her from behind until she got away. The other one got back up and set back it's attention at her. If it was one at a time she could handle them, but two at once it was a problem. One of them turned their hand into a axe and tried to cut her. Harpy Eda jumped out of the way and the other formed it's arm into a mace and stretched it's arm at her. But Harpy Eda tricked it by dodging and end up hitting the other one in the chest and destroying it instantly. Once it let it's guard down she jabbed hand into it's chest and ripped out it's mechanisms, shutting it down.
Alice took on two. They were coming at her. She formed two spell circles with each hand and both turned into abomination hands. She let out a yell as she stretched and enlarged one hand at one of them. She grabbed it whole completely as she turned her other hand into a large hammer and crushed it instantly. The other one shot a laser at her. She formed an abomination shield to block it. She formed an abomination about it's size to fight it, however it was instantly beaten by the abomintions enhanced strength and abilities. She formed two more as they each held onto it's arms holding it back. She formed her arm into an abomination blade and slashed it vertically, cutting the abomiton clean in half.
The fifth was about to come hit her with a hammer hand. She turned and reached her hands at her. The abomiton was caught in a magic grip as a light purple aura formed around it. Alice slowly closed her hands as she was crushing it's body. But she was so focused on it that the last one was slowly coming behind her and formed it's arm into an axe about to strike her down from behind. That was until Harpy Eda came down from the sky and landed on it's head, bringing it to the ground as Alice crushed the abomiton completely.
Harpy Eda: Dang girl I thought you were just a tutor.
Alice: Oh you've only seen a glimpse of what I can do.
Harpy Eda breaks down the door as the two entered.
Alice: Odalia! Alador! Come here this instant!
Harpy Eda: Stop hiding and get out here so I can kick your...
But then one big abomiton, twice the size compared to the others appeared from behind and grabbed the two of them. They were caught in it's grip as Odalia and Alador came to them.
Odalia: Well, the two of you managed to get through our security system. Though it was meant to be for the kids who ran off and was waiting for an explanation of why they ran off like that. How do you like our prototype on the Omega Abomiton?
Alice: Odalia! Alador! Release us at once.
Alador: Not until you tell us where the kids are?
Harpy Eda: They're with Luz. How can you do such a thing? What has Luz ever done to you?
Odalia: She's been distracting our daughter from her top priorities. Her work in school and her assisting us in our work.
Alice: You mean using her as a test subject.
Odalia: Excuse me?
Alice: She told me everything. I always found your parenting skill questionable and never really approved it, but I was told you've been using her as a guinea pig for your experiments and how she often got hurt. Especially when one of your experiments resulted in breaking her leg at a young age.
Odalia: She's just making that up. She's lying to you.
Alice: I can tell when someone lies and she wasn't. Plus Emira and Edric said the same thing and I noticed the slap mark on her face that you left.
Odalia's eyes widened seeing how Alice was onto her.
Alice: And you Alador! You went with this?
Alador: Everything we do is for her own good.
Alice: You're mistreating your own daughter. It's no wonder every time I see her she looks so miserable and only smiles whenever I'm around.
Odalia: We've heard enough from you. Take them away.
The Omega Abomiton was about to take them away until it stopped on it's tracks. Alice's eyes glowed purple as she used what magic she had within to form around her body. She then used that energy to cover it's body, making it let go of the two. Once they were freed, it tried to crush the two. They both got out of the way as Alice formed two abomination hands from the floor and grabbed hold of it's arms. Harpy Eda flew up and drill spined into the chest, though it had no effect. The Omega Abomiton broke free of Alice's grip and knocked her way. It was about to crush her until Harpy Eda swooped in and caught her.
Harpy Eda: That thing's tough. I don't know if we can beat it.
Alice: No look at the chest.
The saw the chest and saw a small crack Eda made, though barely noticeable.
Harpy Eda: Yeah it's just a crack, it's nothing much.
Alice: Just do as I say. Fly me into it and drop me at my queue.
Harpy Eda: Hey you're the genius here.
Harpy Eda flew into the Omega Abomiton. It was about to hit them both with it's axe hand.
Alice: Now!
Harpy Eda dropped her and flew into it's face distracting it. Once Alice landed she formed her hand into a drill and drilled right through the chest, leaving a huge whole through the body. The Omega Abomiton fell to the ground shutting down.
Odalia: No! We're not done yet.
Alador got out his remote control and was about to summon more, but Harpy Eda snatched it off his hand and crushed it. She then grabbed the two of them by the collar and brought them to her face.
Odalia: What are you going to do kill us? I have the only antidote if you want to save your human. Harpy Eda: Jokes on you, she's being cured as we speak. I should throw the two of you into the boiling sea, slowly, right now!
Alice: Don't do that Eda. Just let me handle this. Trust me.
Harpy Eda didn't want to just let them go, but she trusted Alice and dropped them as she approached the two angry.
Odalia: Fine, you win and trashed our house. What are you going to do arrest us? Because you know we'll be let out. We have a partnership with the Emperor's coven.
Alice: You know I should have you arrested for child abuse and attempted murder! But maybe it's not enough and your right, you could be set free. Unless you weren't associated with the family business anymore.
Alador's eyes widened realizing what she was referring to.
Alador: Alice you're not saying.
Alice: I am! For everything the two of you caused, I'm cutting you off the family fortune and the business.
Alador: What?
Odalia: You can't do that!
Alice: Yes I can.
Alice forms a magical contract.
Alice: As the oldest and sole heir to massive Blight trust fund and chairman of Blight Industries, I invested the family fortune for your projects believing you could revolutionize the company because of my brother's skills. But if you read section 37B, it states quite clearly that all offers and services will be null and void and the undersigned will forfeit all rights, privileges and licenses etc. It's all there, black and white clear as crystal. A Blight always upholds their end of the deal.
Odalia: Do you even hear yourself Alice. Our new inventions even got the attention of the Emperor. You're going to bring it down if you kick us out. Alador is the inventor, you need him.
Alice: The contract the company has with the Emperor will not change for business reasons but my research team and crew are very competent and skilled. I can overlook many things the two of you have done, but harming your children this way you crossed the line!
Odalia: So this isn't even about the company. It's the children. You do realize you do this, then they will suffer if we can't provide for them
Alice: You brought them into this, abused and tested your inventions on them! Because of this, you're both fired and I've blacklisted the two of you from all other abomination agencies. And they won't be suffering, I've contacted child services on the way here and will be here soon to interview you and don't even try to lie. I'm taking full custody of them.
Odalia: Alador tell her.
Alador: Alice, please don't do this to us.
Alice: I'm very disappointed in you Alador. You had potential but the way you run things is unacceptable. I gave you many chances because you're my brother, but this. This was it. You made your bed, now lie in it.
Alador didn't know what else to say and just looked down.
Alador: I am so ashamed.
Odalia: Wha...you can't.
Alice: As for you Odalia. I never liked you. You're a disgrace to the family name. I'm letting you two off to live with this. I'm taking the kids with me and if you ever come near them or try to get the fortune back, I will have the both of you arrested! I suggest you sell the house to get what you can out of this. Eda, we're done.
Harpy Eda nodded and walked out of the house with her.
Odalia: You have no idea what you're doing. You're a fool Alice! We are the company! You know how much we sacrificed!? You will regret this decision! You old hag!
Alice stopped on her tracks.
Alice: Old hag? Is that what you called me? I'm not as dumb as you think I am. I will innovate the company. I did it before, I can do it again. I was going to let you off, but now I have something else for you.
Alice formed a spell circle, but this one looked a bit brighter.
Alice: This is for Amity.
Alice shot the wave at Odalia, making her fall back. Alice walked away and Harpy Eda followed her out of the house.
Harpy Eda: Whoa, did you just kill her?
Alice: No, but with the curse I just placed on her, she'll wish that I did.
We cut back to Odalia getting up after the wave of magic.
Odalia: Uh, that wench. Did she really think that would kill me?
She then saw Alador look at her a bit surprised.
Odalia: What? What's wrong...( gasps)
Odalia saw her hands, they looked all old and wrinkled. She looked herself in a mirror and to her horror, Alice stripped her of her youth. She was now old and wrinkly and and grey hair. Odalia let out a scream that echoed out of the house.
Back at the Owl House.
Luz was still lying sick from the poison, but it didn't look like she had much time.
Matti: I have it ready.
Matti and Lilith finished the antidote and hurried towards Luz. Amity, Christa and King made way for her as Matti leaned down and held Luz's head up and had her drink the antidote. She gently placed her head back down as everyone looked to see if it worked. Luz began to moan and her skin color was turning back to normal and her eyes began to flutter until she fully opened them.
Luz: G-Guys...
Everyone: Luz!
Everyone swarmed her and hugged her.
Christa: Oh Luz your okay!
King: Don't ever die on us again!
Hooty: I promised not to cry, but I'm overwhelmed tears of joy!
Matti: We're so happy your okay.
Lilith: We were just having a connection. I didn't' want to lose that!
Emira: So glad your okay.
Edric: Yeah you promised you'd help us prank the school by gluing all the toilets.
Amity: You guys are not doing that. ( to Luz) Luz my Batata, are you sure your okay. You don't feel anything odd.
Luz: I'm okay Amity. I'm okay. Just calm down.
Amity's eyes began to water and hugged Luz tight.
Luz: Amity don't cry.
Amity: I'm so sorry Luz. It was my parents and...
Luz: Hey, don't be sorry. I'm okay. Even though it was all hazy, I still felt you being there for me and tried. Thanks for just being there for me.
Amity smiled and kissed her. Luz held onto her as they kissed. Just after this Harpy Eda and Alice returned.
Harpy Eda: Luz!
Harpy Eda rushed over to Luz and hugged her.
Harpy Eda: You feeling okay kiddo?
Luz: I'm fine Eda. I feel so much better.
Alice: I'm so glad you are.
Luz: Alice, your here to?
Alice: Amity told me what happened. But don't worry, Odalia and Alador won't be bothering you anymore and things are going to change now.
Amity: What do you mean?
Alice: You three are going to live with me now.
Emira: You mean we're going to move in to your mansion.
Edric: Wait what about our stuff? My foofie is still there!
Emira: Ed would you forget about the foofie, your 16.
Edric: I'll never forget it!
King: I don't even want to know what that is.
Alice: I'll take care of getting your belongings to my place. I promise things will be different for you three and for the better.
A few days later.
At Emperor Belos's Castle: In the Legion of Five's lounge.
Word got out that Blight Industries was under new management and Odalia and Alador were forced to sell the house, lost the fortune and left Bonesborough. Selene was reading an article about it as Shadam entered.
Shadam: Selene, we must begin our search for Raine Whispers.
Selene: I know, I just really want to read this.
Shadam: What is that?
Selene: Haven't you hear?, Blight Industries is now under the management of Alice Blight and Odalia is no longer assciated. I knew Odalia was going to fail soon. I bet Darius is thrilled Alador is out.
Shadam: Yes I've heard, but I don't think he'll comfortable knowing his ex is now running the company.
Selene: That's his own personal problem not ours.
Shadam: Yes, perhaps we should inform Alice about our partnership.
Selene: We'll send her a letter of our terms. That's one person I despise down.
Shadam: Yes you told me. We must go now.
Selene: Alright, alright Shadam. ( gets up) Let's go.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Finally got to do this, to give Alice a moment to shine and to give Amity a better life. I originally intended this to be redemption arc for Alador and Odalia after I made the retelling of " Escaping Expulsion," but ultimately changed my mind and honestly I'm glad I didn't go that route. Odalia was just awful and didn't deserve redemption and Alador while he is the least offensive and I know he has his fans, but he's still not a good father. He neglets his kids and always sides with his wife. Also I wasn't sure if I could have them arrested because I don't really know how the laws of Boiling Isles works, because no one seems to care or actually like seeing kids die and the only law that seems to matter is you need to be in coven and if not then your dead.
