Chapter 33: The Clawthorne Family Dinner
At the Owl House.
Luz and Christa were doing their homework from history class as King watched.
Luz: Okay, so did the Stonesleeper live in, A: The Deadwardian era, B: The Hecktaceous era, or C: All of the above?
Christa: Uh...hmm. Uh don't tell me. Um... uh...
Christa looked at King who was behind Luz and trying to signal her to get the right answer.
Christa: Uh, all of the above?
Luz: It's B: The Hecktaceous era.
Christa: Wha...King!?
King: Hey I was trying to tell you B. It's hard making hand signs with these hands.
Luz: King I said not to help her cheat.
King: I'm not helping her cheat. I'm helping her with her homework for when your test comes.
Christa: Aw man.
Christa fell back on the floor, covering her eyes and moaning.
Christa: History homework is so hard.
Luz: Well you were close, in way. I mean all of the above would mean your half right.
Lilith: But if you were to get it wrong in the test it'd still be marked wrong.
Eda and Lilith enter the room.
Lilith: There's no such thing as half right, either your right or wrong. Keep on studying.
Christa: I know. I will.
Eda: Hey don't sweat it Chrissy. Flunking out isn't so bad.
Christa: I'm gonna flunk out?!
Luz: Eda?
Eda: Hey I didn't say you are. All I'm saying if you did. Which I'm sure you won't, isn't so bad. I didn't finish school and look at me.
Lilith: Yeah you don't want to end up like her.
Eda: Yeah I...hey what's that supposed to mean? You finished school and look where you're at now.
Lilith: ( groans) I know.
Hooty: We got company! Hoot, Hoot!
Hooty opens the door and Gwen and Matti enters.
Gwen: Hello girls and King.
Matti: Hey everyone!
Eda and Lilith: Mom?
King: Grandma!
Luz and Christa: Matti!
The girls ran up to hug Matti as did King and afterwards he went to Gwen who Eda and Lilith were with.
Eda: So what brings you here mom?
Gwen: We wanted to stop by and invited you all to dinner tonight at my place. Since you and Sweet Flea are getting along again and now that I have a new grandson I thought we'd have a family dinner night together. Of course Luz, Christa your more than welcome to come.
Christa: Really we can?
Luz: Wait, so you mean I get to see Eda's old home. ( gasps) Is her old bedroom there.
Hooty: Ooh! Ooh! Can I come? I really wanted to try on my new tie.
Matti: Of course you can Hooty.
Hooty: Hooray!
Christa: Are you coming too Matti?
Gwen: Matti doesn't need an invitation, she's like a third daughter to me.
Matti: Oh Gwen.
Eda: Hey Matti is like family to us.
Lilith: She's our little sister that keeps us together.
Matti: I'm no only child, but these two act more like my sisters than my actaul ones.
Gwen: Oh what am I doing only restricting to family members. Why don't you two invite your lovers as well?I'd love to see how Seraphina and Archimedes are doing now. Dell would love to see you all again.
But Eda frowned when she mention her dad.
Eda: Uh...Dad will be there?
Gwen: Oh he's anxious to see the both of you and the kids, especially you Witchlette. Anyway I need to get the final things for dinner. Come by at 6:00, let's go Matti.
Matti: See you guys there.
Gwen and Matti leaves.
Christa: Wow, we're going to visit your old home and meet your dad?
King: I'm going to meet my new grandpa!
Hooty: I'm gonna go get ready. I got to try on some of my new ties!
Luz: I always wanted to see what your childhood home is like. ( gasps) I wonder if there's any baby pictures of you.
Eda: Oh uh, you know I don't think we can go.
Luz: What why?
Eda: Uh because, because...
Christa: Because?
Eda: Because I'm not feeling well. ( holds her stomach) Ugh, I think those demon wings from last night were no good. I got a bad stomach ache.
Lilith: Well I think we have some medicine for that.
Eda: Uh actually uh... uh because tonight is uh...uh the season finale of Bleeding Hearts. We have to know who Eribella chooses.
Luz: We can record it.
Eda: Okay uh...we can't go because uh, I, I have to clean Hooty. It's that time of the month.
Christa: Cleaned him this morning Eda.
Hooty: And she did a great job. I'm squeaky clean.
Eda: Uh well...uh.
Lilith then approached her, figuring out what this was about.
Lilith: Edalyn, I know what this is about. If it's about that night...
Eda: It's nothing okay?! I just can't come! End of story! Bye, bye! ( whispers) See you later.
With that, Eda storms to her room.
Luz: What was that all about?
Lilith: ( sighs) Something that happened when we were kids a long time ago, with dad.
Christa: What happened, did they get into a fight?
Lilith: Not exactly. Sometime after I cursed her and attacking Archimedes, the next person she attacked was our dad. He was leaving for a special job and were going to have a small dinner party for him. But he always liked to leave in style and when he set off a party popper, this triggered her to transform and attacked him. She clawed his eye and hands. After that, we called the Healing coven to check on him and her. That was also the night she ran away and hasn't been able to carve palisman again.
Luz: That's awful.
Christa: That's why. She must feel terrible of what she did.
Lilith: She does, but she shouldn't be blamed. None of this wouldn't have happened it weren't for me. If I hadn't cursed her.
King: Well how does your dad feel?
Lilith: Well he's been wanting to see her again. They never saw each other since, but I know dad wouldn't hate her. This could be the perfect chance for them to talk it out, but knowing Eda she's hard to convince.
Luz: Well we can. I mean she made up with Archimedes and she almost killed him.
Lilith: Perhaps. I gotta go, I need to go see Seraphina. You might want to call Archimedes to come.
Christa: We'll get her to cooperate.
Lilith: Alright, I'll be back soon.
Lilith leaves leaving the group behind.
Luz: Alright, I'm calling Archy.
King: You think he can help?
Christa: If anyone can really talk to Eda it's him.
Later
Hooty: Arcy's here! Hoot!
Archimedes: Do you have to yell every time I come.
Luz and Christa: Archy!
Luz and Christa jumped at him hugging him.
Archimedes: ( chuckles) You all seem happy to see me.
Christa: We're always happy to see you.
Archimedes: Of course. Anway, Eda is being uh...Eda again.
King: Oh yeah she is.
Luz: She won't come to the dinner party to face her dad and maybe because you also had a uh...um...well you know experience with her, you could talkt to her.
Archimedes: Right, let's go see her.
They went up stairs to her room where it was closed shut.
Archimedes: ( knocking the door) Eda. E it's me.
Eda: Oh uh...this is not a good time Archy. I'm free tomorrow though.
Archimedes: Eda I know about the dinner party at your old home, the girls told me. Before we continue on, can you let me in?
Eda opens the door for him.
Eda: Then I guess you know who'll be there.
Archimedes: I do.
Eda: Then you know why I can't come.
Archimedes: Eda you shouldn't be afraid of your dad.
Eda: Why wouldn't I be after what I did?
Archimedes: E, he's literally the coolest and chillest guy I know. He helped us carve our palisman as kids.
Eda: And thanks to me not only did I make him lose and eye but ruined his hands to never carve again.
Archimedes: It wasn't your fault. You had no control over the curse, not like you do now.
Eda: It doesn't matter. I can't see him after what I did. He probably doesn't want anything to do with me or he just wants lash out on me if I see him.
Archimedes: I doubt that. Look at me.
Archimedes places his hand on her cheek to have her look at him.
Archimedes: I was the first one you attacked. I nearly died, yet I recovered and the first thing I did was look for you. Everyday I searched for you not knowing at the time you were hiding in the human realm. You pushed me away all these years saying it was because you were a wild witch and didn't want me to get in trouble being associated with you, but really you were scared to be around me because fearing your curse would hurt me again. I still love you despite what you did and this past time of catching up and being with you has been the best time of my life. I know your dad must miss you. This is your chance to finally make things right with him.
Luz: Eda, you should really do this and spend whatever time you have left with your dad. ( frowns) I'd give anything just to spend one more day with my dad.
Eda saw the sad look on Luz's face knowing how her dad died at young age.
Eda: ( sighs) Your right. Maybe it is time. Okay I'll come.
Archimedes: That's it E.
Luz: Great! Dinner party's back!
Christa: Oh then I gotta start looking for something nice to wear.
King: Yeah I gotta look good if I want to meet grandpa.
Hooty: Oh I can help with that. I'm a fashion designer.
King: Ugh, you wish.
Later that night
The group met up with Lilith and Seraphina and were on their way to Gwen's place and soon found it as a two story house.
Christa: Oh, it's a rich house.
Lilith: Ha, no not really but it is nice looking.
Archimedes: ( whispers) Hey you ready?
Eda: ( whispers) I am, just nervous.
Archimedes: ( whispers) It's going to be alright, don't worry.
Archimedes held her hand. She gave him a smile and knocked the door and in moments, Gwen opened.
Gwen: Ah, you all made it. And I see some familiar faces.
Archimedes: ( shakes her hand) It's been a while Mrs. Clawthorne.
Gwen: Oh I told you Archy, call me Gwen. I see you taking care of Edalyn.
Archimedes: I'm doing my best to keep an eye on her.
Eda: Hey, what are you trying to say?
Gwen: We're just kidding dear, but glad you decided to come. You're father's running late, but he'll be here in half an hour.
Eda: Oh well, I'm eager to see him.
Gwen: And he is as well. Come in.
The two entered as Luz, Christa and King came in next.
Christa: Thanks again for inviting us as well Gwen.
Luz: Yeah this is nice place you got.
Gwen: Of course. Any close friends to Eda and Lilith are family to us. ( picks up King) Of course I also want to spend some time with my new grandson.
King: Yeah, let's do puzzles together.
Luz: Oh wait, do you have any baby photos of Eda? I'd love to see.
Gwen: ( chuckles) We'll have time to do all that soon, come in.
Now she greeted Lilith, Hooty and Seraphina.
Gwen: ( gasps) Seraphina.
Seraphina: ( hugging her) Gwen! It's been so long. Glad to see you again fellow Beast keeper.
Gwen: Oh I missed you as well Seraphina. I'm so glad to see you and Sweet Flea together.
Seraphina: ( holding Lilith's hand) Yeah, same here.
Lilith: She and I still have a lot of catching up to do.
Hooty: Yeah, really love your gf Lulu. She's really cool.
Seraphina: ( pets Hooty) Why thank you Hooty.
As everyone entered and looked around the living room, they saw Matti coming from the kitchen wearing an apron.
Matti: Welcome everyone! Glad you all could come.
Luz: Wow Eda, this is where you grew up. It's way more cleaner than the Owl House.
Eda: What, the place is too dirty for you?
Gwen: Everyone make yourselves comfortable, dinner will be ready soon.
Lilith: Oh I can help finish preparations.
Matti: Oh no Lily, your a guest.
Lilith: I'm a guest at my old home?
Matti: Okay when you put it that way it makes no sense. If you really want to you can.
Seraphina: I'll come help as well.
Lilith and Serphina follows Matti to the kitchen as well as set the table.
Eda: Anyway, you guys said you wanted to see my room right?
Luz: YES!
Christa: That was right in my ear.
Luz: Sorry just so excited.
They followed Eda upstairs as she opened the door to her old childhood bedroom. It seemed to have a late 80s or early 90s style to it.
Eda: Well here it is, my old quarters.
Luz: Whoa. I can't believe I'm in Eda's old room.
They looked around Eda's room and she surprised it was still untouched. Luz and Christa were looking at the walls which had posters of movies and plays around her time and a shelf of figures and a make up station as King went through her closet, in hopes to find more stuffed toys for him.
King: AH! What is that?
Eda looked in and saw what he saw. She pulled out what looked like a stuffed, animatronic bat toy wearing a orange t shirt, white shoes, a cap backwards and a gold chain with the letter B on it. But it looked all worn out and kind creepy with it's eyes looking the opposite ways and the jaw hanging down.
Eda: Oh it's Shadow Blitz. This was my favorite toy when I was a little kid. Here King you can have him.
Shadow Blitz: I...eat...eyes...
Everyone: AAAH!
Archimedes: What the...
Shadow Blitz: ...cream. I eat ice cream.
Everyone: ( sighs) oh.
Archimedes: Okay that makes sense.
King: Yeah I don't think I want that.
Eda: ( tosses it away) Yeah this was way less creepy when I was a kid.
Luz: Whoa Eda, look what I found.
Luz found a shoe box under the bed of Eda in her youth. Most of them showed her with Lilith and the rest of her friends. One them looking sort of like the photo Luz took with her friends at grom.
Eda: Ah, those were good times. Back when we just hanged and did all sorts of crazy things as kids right Archy.
Archimedes: You were the one who did the crazy stuff.
Eda: You still went with it didn't you.
Archimedes: ( sighs) Your right.
Christa: Whoa, I found something cute of you two.
Christa held a picture of Eda and Archimedes as teens at Grom.
Luz: ( gasps) No way, you guys went to Grom!?
Archimedes: Oh yeah, that. We weren't exactly dating at the time, but yeah it just happened.
Eda: But it was a great night.
Luz and Christa: Tell us everything!
Eda: Okay alright, yeah it was Grom night at Hexside for us.
Luz: Yay, flashback!
Flashback, long time ago.
It was Grom Night at Hexside and after this years Grom Queen defeated Grom, the night went on regular as students danced. However there was one who wasn't really partying. A young Archimedes was outside of the dance room, looking down drinking some punch. He didn't have anyone to go out with or to dance. He hoped to ask Eda, but she was taken by Thomas and this really broke his heart since he had feelings for her for a while. He just kept drinking, his mind not there until someone came up to him from behind.
Teen Eda: Hey!
Teen Archimedes: AH! Oh Eda. I didn't see you there.
Teen Eda: Of course you couldn't, came at you from behind.
Archimedes just nods as he gazed at Eda in her red dress.
Teen Archimedes: You uh...you look...you look b-beautiful.
Teen Eda: Thanks, you look great yourself Archy. Very handsome. Hot even.
Teen Archimedes: ( blushes) Um, thanks.
Teen Eda: So what are you doing out here by yourself?
Teen Archimedes: Just not in the mood I guess. I mean I thought I wanted to come, but I don't really have anyone to dance with and...well yeah. That's about it. Shouldn't you be dancing with your boyfriend?
Teen Eda: Ugh, don't even mention Thomas. Literally two days before this night, I saw him with another girl. Mulitple girls actually. He even talks about them even when around me! He wouldn't listen to me thinking I was over reacting, so we broke up.
Teen Archimedes: Oh, uh how you holding up?
Teen Eda: Okay. I mean it sucks now that I don't have anyone to dance with and Lily is lucky and dancing with Sera.
Teen Archimedes: I'm sorry E. But you know, I never really that guy. He was kind of a jerk.
Teen Eda: Now that you mention it he was. I don't know what I saw. His skill in bard magic or he was a bad boy. Well he was but the bad kind. That's why when we broke up, I punched him in the face and gave him a wedgie.
Teen Archimedes: No way.
Teen Eda: Way. You should have seen it.
Teen Archimedes: Bad girl style?
Teen Eda: Bad girl style.
The two laughed and just looked each other in the eyes, but then looked away both faces turning red.
Teen Archimedes: So now you're here alone like me?
Teen Eda: Yeah. Well, it's you and me, out here alone with no one to go out with. Do you want to dance?
Teen Archimedes eyes widend and spat out the punch he was drinking and was coughing.
Teen Eda: Whoa, dude you okay?
Teen Archimedes: ( coughs) Yeah I'm good. Just uh, uh I saw spider and it freaked me out. What did you say?
Teen Eda: I said would you like dance with me?
Teen Archimedes: Uh...E I...
Teen Thomas: Eda!
They looked and saw a younger Thomas Harmony approaching the two?
Teen Eda: ( whispers) Oh Titan, kill me.
Teen Thomas: Eda, I've come for you.
Teen Eda: I thought I told you it's over between us.
Teen Thomas: Look come on, I made a mistake. I mean yeah I might have flirted with a few girls, but none of them were like you. So how about it?
Thomas took out what looked like a rose, but it was black.
Teen Eda: Yeah not interested.
Teen Thomas: Hey I searched high and low for this black rose. You know how hard it is to find these.
Teen Eda: I don't care. You didn't at all care how I felt and that's why I broke up. So the answer is no.
Teen Thomas: Eda...
Teen Archimedes: She said no.
Teen Thomas: Hey, no one asked for you opinion nerd. Now come on Eda. Dance with me.
Teen Archimedes: She's not dancing with you. Leave her alone.
Teen Thomas: Yeah, what are you going to do about it?
Thomas got up to Archimedes's face, making him step back.
Teen Thomas: Yeah that's right, you better step back. You're nothing but a wuss.
Thomas formed a spell circle and sent out an energy wave to push him down.
Teen Eda: Thomas stop! Leave him alone!
Teen Thomas: Gladly, if you just dance with me.
Thomas grabbed Eda's arm and tried to pull her away. Eda formed a spell circle and vanished. He looked confused and then turned and saw her helping Archimedes up.
Teen Eda: Archy are you...
Teen Archimedes: I'm okay.
Teen Thomas: Oh what, don't tell me your concerned for that loser.
Eda was about to go at him, but Archimedes placed a hand on her shoulder and goes to him.
Teen Thomas: Oh ho, this is precious. Come on let's have it. You're gonna fight me?
Teen Archimedes: No, we shouldn't fight at a time like this. Why don't i get us some punch and call it even.
Teen Eda: What?
Teen Thomas: Well I am thirsty. Sure I'd like some punch.
Archimedes punches Thomas across the face. It was quite hard to as it bruised his face and he didn't look good.
Teen Thomas: Uh...dragsville.
Thomas falls to the ground knocked out. But Eda goes to him and gives him a wedgie make him squeal.
Teen Eda: That's for breaking my heart and bullying us. ( to Archimedes) Dang Archy, that was so cool. I get it now. I'm proud of you.
Teen Archimedes: I'm not letting anyone push me around anymore E. Not me or you. So um...may I have this dance Ms. Clawthorne.
Eda replies by punching his arm.
Teen Archimedes: Ow.
Teen Eda: Don't call me Miss, but yes you may.
Archimedes held her arm as they went to the dance floor. The two held each other and danced. Eda looked over and saw Lilith dancing with Seraphina and Matti with Raine. Lilith looked back at her and nods to her. Eda smiles at her and back at Archimedes, but then she felt him stepping on her foot.
Teen Eda: Ow. That's my foot.
Teen Archimedes: Sorry, sorry. I never really danced before.
Teen Eda: It's cool, you're doing pretty good for your first time.
Teen Archimedes: Thanks. You know E, I'm really glad I got to dance with you and a bit surprised you'd actually want to dance with me.
Teen Eda: Hey, I'm always there for my friends and you're bestie Archy. You know I always back you up or keep you out of trouble and I couldn't stand seeing you sad all by yourself.
Teen Archimedes: Yeah, you do so much yet, I do nothing for you.
Teen Eda: Hey of course you do. You're someone I love to hang with and I'm glad to have a friend like you.
Teen Archimedes: Thanks E, same with me.
The two continued dancing and looked at each other. The moment was right for Archimedes, maybe to tell her how he feels, but seemed so hesitant.
Teen Archimedes: Um Eda.
Teen Eda: Yeah Archimedes.
Teen Archimedes: I just wanted to say that...um...well...I've always...um...
Teen Eda: What?
Teen Archimedes: I...
Archimedes sadly was still too scared to tell her how he felt, so instead he just pulled her into a hug and held onto her.
Teen Archimedes: I'm just so happy to be with you.
Eda felt the warmth from his hug. She smiled and hugged him back and laid her head on his upper chest. It was that moment there, she started to have feelings for him too.
Teen Eda: Yeah...me too.
Flashback ends.
Christa: Are you kidding me? You had the perfect moment then and you still didn't kiss?
Luz: You guys are really bad at telling each other these things.
Archimedes: What, there was so much pressure there.
Eda: Yeah, besides wasn't it hard for you and Boots as well? Where was your kiss at Grom?
Luz: Okay you got me there.
Christa: Oh hey Eda, is this your dad?
Christa took out another photo and it showed Teen Eda carving Owlbert with her dad beside her helping her.
Eda: Oh yeah, that's me and my dad. He was helping me carve Owlbert that day.
Luz: He looks nice.
Archimedes: He is. He helped each of us as kids to carve our palismans.
Eda kept looking at the photo. She smiled at first, but then memories kept flooding her mind. Bad memories. One of them being her turning into the Owl Beast and attacking her dad. And then when she turned back, she saw how hurt he was, his arms were cut and lost his eye.
Eda: NO!
Everyone looked at Eda with worried looks.
Archimedes: Whoa what?
Luz: Eda?
Then Gwen enters the room.
Gwen: Is everything alright in here?
Eda: ( exiting the room) Oh uh yeah, yeah it's just uh...uh... I need to use the bathroom!
Eda runs through the halls and goes into the broom closet.
Eda: Uh, I can't. I can't. I tried, but I can't. I can't face my dad. I knew it was a bad idea. Oh but they're not going to let me leave. I don't have magic so I can't cheat my way out. Wait do I have a ( checks inside her hair)...ugh no, no invisibility glyph. If only I had a disguise.
But then she saw a black mop and what looked like Lilith's old outfit. She placed her hand on her chin and had an idea.
Outside the closet.
Gwen: Edalyn. Edalyn come out of there. I saw you go in there. That's not the bathroom, that's the broom closet.
King: Is she having a mid life crisis?
Luz: I don't think so King.
Christa: Or maybe she is.
Then the door opens and shows Eda, pretending to be Lilith wearing her old dress and the mop head to hide her hair.
Eda: Apologies everyone, but dearest sister has flow the dearest coop. I, Lily tried to stop her, but she threw me into the closet. But worry not, I the perfect, prisssy, little Lily shall find her for you.
Eda walks past them as they all watched and could clearly see her hairy hanging off from the mop.
Christa: Um...are we supposed to fall for that?
King: Just let her have this.
Eda made it down stairs and was at the front door.
Eda: I don't believe it. They actually fell for it. Ha ha, I am the master of disguise. So long suckas!
But when Eda opened the door, her father was just outside about to enter.
Eda: DAD?!
Dell: AH! Oh it's just you uh...is that you Eda?
Eda: What no, uh it's, it's Lily dad. Your perfect Lily.
Dell: Hmm, I guess it is just you Lilith. You here to greet your old man.
Eda: Uh actually I uh...I was about to chase after Eda, she flew off. But I'll go get her.
Dell: Oh no, leave her be. But why don't we have a chat, I'd love to catch up with you. After all you are just Lillith and not Eda.
Eda: Um, yeah. Sure we can talk.
The two sat on he couch. Eda looked so nervous. Did he really think she was Lilith or just messing with her?
Eda: So...uh what did you want to talk about?
Dell: Oh well, I just wanted talk to you about your sister.
Eda: Oh, um yeah. She's a real trouble maker isn't she? I mean getting in trouble, like a lot and her curse. She really messed things up, you must be glad she's out of your hair.
Dell: Is she a trouble maker? Yes, yes she is, but me being happy she's gone, no. Absolutely not.
Eda: But why though? After what she did. She ruined your life! Have you been able to carve anymore new palisman since I...I mean she attacked you?
Dell looked down at his hands, which were scarred and looked a bit shaky.
Dell: No, but she didn't ruin my life. She never did. But I wish she'd let me help.
Eda: Well, even if she didn't. She doesn't deserve forgiveness.
Dell: Of course she does. Archimedes spent years looking for her and trying to find a way to lift her curse and that was after she attacked him and I think he had it worse than I did. I know it wasn't her fault. I just wish she was hear now, so I can tell her how much I miss her, let her know I'm not mad and just tell her no matter what, I'll always love her.
Eda's body shook a bit and wiped a tear off her face. She took a deep breathe and looked at him.
Eda: You can tell her now.
Eda took off the mop on her head as he laughed.
Eda: What's so funny?
Dell: I knew it was you, just playing along with your disguise. You're not exactly very good at it.
Eda: Hey, I fooled the others upstairs.
King: ( from distance) No you didn't.
Eda: Anyway, did you really mean what you said?
Dell: Of course. It's been so long pumpkin. Why haven't you called me?
Eda: I'm sorry. I've been dealing with a lot lately.
Dell: ( sighs) Yes, I've heard. You being on a wanted poster and the petrification ceremony. So much has hard times. But I've heard other things. You're now looking after three kids, one of them now my grandson, you and Archimedes are dating and you've gotten better control of your curse.
Eda: Ha, yeah I have. Luz and Christa are great, King's a Clawthorne. He's a handful, but I love him. And I guess Archy and I have been overdue to go out. And yeah I have gotten better control of my curse. Not healed, but it's not really a burden anymore if that makes sense. ( frowns) I'm sorry I pushed you away all these years. I mean, attacking you and Archy was the worst thing I ever done. I just thought, you were better off if I wasn't around.
Dell: I would never be better off without you. I missed you so much when you left. You're my daughter and nothing, no matter what you do changes how I feel. I love you Edalyn, always have and always will.
Dell pulled her into a hug. Eda stood there as he embraced her. Than her eyes began to tear up as she hugged him back and cried into her shoulder.
Eda: ( sobbing) Dad...
Dell: It's alright. I'm here now.
They just stood there and hugged it out for a minute until she calmed down.
Dell: There. You good?
Eda: Yeah, I'm fine now. Sorry I don't normally get all emotional there.
Dell: It's fine. I'm just glad you finally came to see us.
Gwen: As am I.
They turned and saw Gwen and the others.
Eda: Were you guys watching us the whole time?
Gwen: Pretty much.
Dell: So, aren't you going to introduce me to your kids?
Eda: Kids come here. Luz, Chrissy this is my dad and King your grandpa.
Christa: Oh, it's so nice to meet you Eda's dad. Or should we call you Mr. Clawthorne?
Dell: Hahaha! Just call me Dell.
Luz: I can't believe I'm meeting Eda's dad.
Dell: Ah yes, so your the one who saved my daughter from Belos. ( places hand on her head) I don't know how much I can thank you for it.
Luz: Oh, it was nothing really. Just couldn't let her be petrified.
King: Ooh, I helped too grandpa.
Dell: ( picks up King) Let me get a good look at you son. Welcome to the family. I hope Eda's been treating you well.
King: Oh she has, though she is pretty cranky at times.
Eda: Hey!
King: But Cranky or not, she still raised me.
Matti: Dinner's ready everyone. Oh sorry are we interrupting something?
Lilith: Dad.
Lilith went up and hugged Dell.
Dell: Lilith. I'm happy to see both my daughters.
Lilith: Me too. Eda why are you wearing my old clothes?
Eda: Uh, I rather not talk about it.
A few hours later.
After having dinner and spending time together with games and stories, it was time to call it a night as all guests were leaving.
Eda: Well, it was great catching up.
Luz: Thank you again for tonight.
Matti: We should do this again sometime.
Gwen: You all have a safe trip back.
Dell: Oh wait Eda, I have something for you.
Eda: For me?
Dell took out and hands her a small blue seed.
Eda: What is this?
Dell: It's a palistrom seed. My palisman making days are over, but I've been helping the Bat Queen replenish her forests, so someone new can learn the trade.
Eda: Thanks dad. I'll be sure to plant it.
Dell: Oh and give Owlbert my regards. Carving him with you is one of my dearest memories.
Eda went and gave him one more hug.
Eda: I will.
With that they got onto their staffs and flew home.
Archimedes: How do you feel?
Eda: Well, I feel like I just really let something off my chest. That's for sure.
Christa: He was really nice. Glad we got to meet him.
Luz: I'm glad you made things right with you dad.
Eda took out the seed her dad gave and smiled.
Eda: Yeah me too.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Just wanted to make this to add in the B plot of Elsewhere and Elswhen and wanted to makes something simple this time and wholesome. But this was also to bring in one more flashback of Eda and Archimedes's youth, I had the scene made but couldn't think when to bring it. But anyway that's it for this chapter.
