When Maden glanced at the clock, it told him that the time was 3:28 AM, however since the clock was actually seven minutes fast, the time actually was only 3:21. This wasn't any sort of a comfort for the doctor, merely a fact that stuck out as the numbers continued to blink, informing him of the late (or early) hour. Pulling himself into a sitting position, his eyes glanced around the room before falling on the sleeping form next to him. Dan tossed and turned in his sleep, soft mumbles and whimpers spilling from his lips as he curled himself into a tight ball. If Maden listened close enough, he could hear the names repeating themselves, Diana, Natalie, Gabriel, even his own name occasionally slipped out.
This wasn't anything new to the doctor, ever since he and Dan had started sleeping in the same bed he was always woken to the soft mummers of the other man's dreams. It of course worried him, but then again Dan in general worried him. Yet, as Maden reached a hand out to soothingly stroke Dan's hair, he knew that he wouldn't have it any other way. Dan had always said that he was the lucky one, that Maden was a saint for staying with him, putting up with the biggest fits of madness and the smallest quirk, but he knew who the truly lucky one was.
Leaning down, he brushed a kiss against Dan's cheek, sinking back into the bed, and wrapping the other man in his embrace, uttering soft, soothing words, as his hands continued to stroke Dan's hair. It was only when the names subsided and he uncurled himself just a little to snuggle into the doctor, that Maden closed his eyes, knowing that, for at least tonight, they would both sleep well.
