"I told you it would be a book!" George exclaimed, seeing the small book appear on Fred's inner wrist.
Fred just nodded, "But are you sure it stands for Hermione? I'm sure there are other girls who could fit this sign."
George raised his eyebrow, "Why are you arguing on this one? I thought you liked her and were hoping for this?"
"But what if this is just wishful thinking? We're in the middle of a war! Hermione is who-knows-where, with Ron and Harry, and probably not even thinking of me at all!"
George just looked at his twin, how could he convince his brother that the two of them were meant to be?
"The potion!"
Fred looked over at George, "It's five past midnight. What potion needs your attention now?"
George shook his head, "I mean the potion that allows someone to travel to the future for a few hours. We can use that! You'll be able to see for yourself that the two of you belong together."

Hermione looked herself over in the mirror, she had especially lengthened the mirror so she could search her full body, but no matter what she did, she didn't see an additional mark.
With a disappointed sigh, Hermione got dressed before she sat down on her bed with her book.
She had hoped so badly that what the book said would be true. How great would it be to find your soulmate? Hermione's eyes skimmed over the pages as she once again read the paragraph about the soulmate mark.
When a witch or wizard reaches their 20th birthday, a soulmate mark may appear. This mark is a symbol that will resemble the person that they are meant to spend the rest of their life with. The mark will not make it impossible for the witch or wizard to fall in love with someone else, it is just an indicator of who will compliment their life and goals the best.
The soulmate mark is a small black mark that will appear in the same place for both partners, each mark is unique to the person who they are meant to be with.
Once a couple has found each other and has shared their first kiss (after the youngest has received their mark) the marks will come together and form a unique mark which will replace both marks.
If a witch or wizard decides to marry a person who they do not share a soulmark with, the mark will disappear from both the witch or wizard who is getting married as their potential partner, so that the couple can live together without the fear of meeting one's soulmate at a later date.
A witch or wizard may not receive the mark on their 20th birthday if their potential soulmate is already married or has passed away.
If at any point in the future, both partners of a soulbond are single, the marks will reappear.
Hermione wondered which option it would be. Had her soulmate decided that her symbol wasn't entertaining enough and had he married someone else, had he died, or was the information just a fantasy, something she had wanted to believe in?
With a sigh, Hermione closed her eyes, ignoring the little voice inside her mind that was repeating Fred's name.

Hermione's hand unconsciously reached out to her ankle as a small itch appeared. It wasn't until she reached the end of her chapter that Hermione looked down at her ankle, which had for some reason not stopped bothering her.
She couldn't help letting out a gasp, as she looked down and noticed a small mark on her ankle. A small explosion was drawn in dark black ink, as if it had always been there.

"Okay, we don't have much time. The potion will take us back to our time in 20 minutes."
Fred nodded, only half listening to George as he repeated the same information again. He was unfortunately aware enough of the time limits of the potions. You have 20 minutes in the future, after which you will be transported back to where you were before and you wouldn't be able to take the same potion again for another month.
With a quick wave of his wand, Fred had cast a point me spell, and within seconds he was Apparating away.

Hermione was startled out of her thoughts, as a loud bang sounded outside. Honestly, who-ever just apparated should have known better. Everyone knew that apparating within hearing distance of Hermione was more likely than not to get hexed, a result of the war, that people forgave her for.
"George Weasley! How dare you—" Hermione stopped speaking, "You're not George!"
Before Hermione had even realised, her wand was in her hand, pointing at the George look alike.
"Who are you?"
The silence that followed was deafening. Even though it only lasted a few seconds, as Hermione's brain worked overtime, it felt like ages, especially to Fred who wasn't sure what to say. He wasn't supposed to be seen!
"Fred?" came the hesitant words out of Hermione's mouth, as she slightly paled.
Fred slowly nodded, why did she seem to be so confused?
"How? It was that potion wasn't it? That's why George wouldn't allow me to look at it more! I can't believe you've been reckless enough to travel to the future!"
Fred's mind was blank, how did Hermione manage to figure everything out so quickly?

Fred looked at George, the potion in his hand, "Look, if I'm right, and I'm going to die soon, this might be the last chance for me to go and see Hermione, I'll be back in 20 min." Without waiting for a reply from his twin, Fred downed the potion and let the feeling of simmering out of existence take over again.

Hermione paced the floor of what used to be Fred's room, hoping that she was right, and that Fred would use the potion again, it was probably her last chance to see him, and if it was she didn't want to waste a second of it.
So when the tinteling on her ankle started again, she looked up with anticipation. Her smile grew as Fred appeared in front of her. Hermione didn't know if she was going to have another chance with the redhead, so she was going to grab this chance with all that she had.
