If you hung out with me for too long, I'll brainwash you into believing in yourself and knowing you can achieve anything.-Unknown

The night that followed both Rachel and Spencer, was riddled with different nightmares from their traumas.

When Spencer woke up, he laid in bed for about 10 minutes wondering if the events from last night really happened. Had he allowed a stranger to sleep in his house, only knowing her name? Though Spencer didn't think Rachel would murder him in his sleep, Spencer couldn't help but wonder what his teammates would have thought. Knowing Hotch, Spencer would have told him off and would have given him a lecture about safety and how he was an FBI agent.

The smell of food brought Spencer out of his thoughts. Making his way to the kitchen, he saw Rachel, hair tied up in a ponytail and practically drowning in the shirt that he lent her, was making some pancakes and bacon. Spencer also noticed that the coffee pot was filled with freshly made coffee.

"Morning," Spencer said as he went to get a cup to pour the coffee.

Rachel turned around and gave Spencer a soft smile, "Morning. I made breakfast. I hope you like pancakes and bacon."

"Lucky for you, I like both," Spencer said. "Do you need any help?"

"Could you watch the bacon, they're almost done, just need a few more seconds. I'm going to start plating the pancakes." Rachel said, moving out the way to allow room for Spencer to stand by the fire.

Once everything was plated and served, both Rachel and Spencer sat down at the table and began to eat.

Spencer looked at Rachel and noticed that she wasn't wearing her sling anymore but she looked healthier than she did last night.

"Hey, Rachel?"

"Mhm."

"Where's your sling and why aren't you wearing it," Spencer asked.

"It was annoying me…" Rachel mumbled into her food.

Spencer sighed. "Ray, if you want your hand to get better, you need to wear your sling."

"You sound like a mother."

Spencer opened his mouth and then shut it realising he really did sound like someone's mother.

"I can get the sling and put it on if you want." Rachel trying to sass Spencer.

"Yeah, that would be great," Spencer said while smiling into his food.

Rachel's eyes widen in shock not thinking Spencer would actually tell her to get the sling. She quickly got up and went and got the sling. When returning she sighed.

"Happy now?"

"Yep, thanks," Spencer said as he took another bite of his pancakes.

Rachel rolled her eyes and went back to eating.

After eating in silence for about, Rachel broke it. "I wanted to thank you for what you did last night. You really didn't have to let me stay over."

"It's fine Rachel. You can stay as long as you need."

"But Spencer, I'm basically a stranger!" Rachel said.

"Rachel, listen to me, I trust you. But if you're so worried, then why don't we play another round of chess, as I promised, and we can get to know each other better."

Rachel nodded and got up to wash her dishes.

"Leave the dishes, they can be done later," Spencer called out.

Once in the living room, Spencer had already set the chessboard up for another game. When Rachel sat down she moved her piece.

"What's your job," Spencer asked.

"I'm a doctor at St Mary's hospital. Sometimes I work in ER or paediatrics depending on my rota. You?" Rachel said as she looked at the chessboard trying to figure out her next move.

"FBI agent that works in the BAU," Spencer said. "Checkmate in 6"

"How did we just start? Anyways, what sort of things do you like doing?"

"Mainly read books or reports. Or when I'm not doing that I might be studying for my next degree."

"You speak as if you have more than one degree."

"I do. I have 2 undergraduate degrees in sociology and psychology. I also have 3 PhDs in Mathematics, Chemistry and Engineering. I'm currently working on an undergraduate degree in Philosophy."

"Oh wow! You're really young as well. Were you some sort of child prodigy or a child genius?"

"Eh, both. I can read 20,000 words per minute and have an IQ of 187. Got my first doctorate at age 17. What about you? You're a doctor so I'm presuming you went to university."

I've got a doctorate in psychology and biology. At the same time, I was learning medicine at college then went to medical school. While in medical school, I was licenced as a doctor and then I started my Residency. I just finishing my Residency in a few months."

Spencer looked up from the game and looked at Rachel who had a small blush on her face.

"It takes about four years to complete college and another 4 years to complete medical school, then another 3 years for your residency. In total that's about 11 years and you're 24 so you started college at 13?"

"Hello, fellow genius." Rachel said with a small smile.

"Wow. I never really met anyone with someone with a higher IQ than me. I'm assuming you started college before me."

"No, not really. I missed a few grades in middle and high school. Imagine this 11-year-old walking around in high school. Gosh, I was so small back then." Rachel said laughing slightly at the memory

"Oh, I've been there. Slightly grateful that I wasn't too small." Spencer said with a small smile. "What's your IQ level if you don't mind me asking?"

"Er… I haven't done a test in years. The last time I did it, I think it was around 190? But even then I'm only really smart in certain subjects. Like physics, don't understand it. Don't see the point of it. Why did they force us to study it?" Rachel said looking back at the game. "Checkmate in 5."

"Checkmate in 3," Spencer said and slightly laughed when Rachel huffed in frustration. "Hey! Don't go dissing my subject, just because you don't get it doesn't mean there's no use for it. Like for instant cars and other electrical things, we wouldn't have if it wasn't for physics. Physics is just as important as Biology or Math."

"Feeling strongly about this topic I see. How the hell did you win again?" Rachel asked as Spencer won the game of chess.

Spencer laughed. "Sorry. I'm just good at the game. Haven't found someone yet that can beat me."

Rachel huffed. "You know what? I'm gonna practice so I can beat you."

"Oh of course," Spencer said, smiling at how frustrated Rachel was becoming over a game. "Another round?"

By the end of three games, Spencer and Rachel had gotten to know each other quite well. They found out that they both liked reading books and began exchanging different books that they had read. Rachel was furious and absolutely hated Jane Eyre and Spencer just laughed as Rachel retold the plot of the book. The two of them found out that they both like watching Doctor Who and Star Trek, which Spencer found ironic seeing that those two shows were slightly based on physics. Spencer found out that Rachel enjoyed cooking and baking and was looking forward to eating some of her creations. Rachel found out that Spencer knew how to play the piano and he promised that he would play for her at some point.

After about 3 hours, it was safe to say that Spencer and Rachel were no longer strangers and both felt extremely comfortable in each other's presence.
