Solarpaw stalked her lunch, a plump mouse. She waited hungrily as the mouse sniffed to and fore. Solarpaw suddenly pounced and took her prize in her mouth to her barn across a worn path that smelled slightly of old Twolegs that once traveled on it. She curled up against the wood of the old rotting barn and began to eat her catch.
Shadowpaw lapped at the puddle of rain water and sighed with contentment as she felt the water go down her throat. She looked into the water and thought sadly that she had to look after her own pack of ten wolves, she was on a quest to find them a new home, their old one had be ruined by Twolegs. Wandering on strange land always made her worried, but it worried her more when she could smell a cat that had lived there for a while and that she wasn't going to move any time soon. She hated invading other critters homes; it made her feel as though she was worse than the careless Twolegs that took her home. She sniffed the air again and caught the cat's scent close by. Shadowpaw sunk to the ground and watched a strange looking cat trot past her. It was all black expect for the almost glowing blue eye patch over her left eye, the tip of her tail and a sock on her right fore paw.
Solarpaw saw the wolf, all black with her chest gray, and her tail tip gray. She didn't do any thing, she just walked on. The wolf was on her territory, yes, but why bother it if it's not doing any thing? Her land was small, about two acres. There was a small stream and the old barn filled with mice that hibernate, so there was almost never a food shortage for the lone cat. She glanced at the wolf and hissed but walked on with out any more thought to it.
The cat past her and hissed, but then walked on with out a care. Shadowpaw got to her paws and howled a hello to the stranger. She caught up to the cat and panted,
"Hello! I'm Shadowpaw, wanna play?" The cat sniffed and replied flatly,
"No, I would rather not. Can I ask you to get off my territory with out bloodshed?" Shadowpaw's excitement dulled.
