Alauinel peered at the queen of Elves through her darkened shroud. Despite herself, a small cynical grin curled across her lips as she commanded the magic within her body to tend bleeding wounds.

Had Alauinel been at full strength, she may have been able to defeat Islanzadi. But her magic was drained from the cost of placing Galbatorix's entire army under her heel..and in preparation for him.

Alauinel allowed slow tufts of confidence to roll over her. She need only to stall Islanzadi for a while longer..

"I'm surprised you had the strength to follow me here" Alauinel said as she rose from the ground of her dead world. Black dirt rolled free from her golden locks as haunting eyes peered upwards to her mother.

Islanzadi alighted to the ground, her pointed feet touching down softly as a gentle egg of residual energy pulsated from her in boastful intervals, sending small waves of dust billowing forth.

"What's wrong?" Islanzadi raised her sword towards Alauinel.

"You're weak. You were trying to hide it earlier but it's clear enough even for me to see now."

Alauinel laughed softly.

"It's interesting," Alauinel began.

"Throughout my entire life, I've never felt like this. Backed into a corner. I was always greeted with the assurance of victory, no matter the situation. My existence was perfection."

Alauinel braced her legs to attack, tired muscles protesting as the magic fueling them waned.

"This brief taste of morality.. has only strengthened my reality. I will not fail, queen of Elves."

Alauinel pushed her legs forward as she pointed her blade at Islanzadi's neck. Islanzadi leaned backwards as Alauinel's sword missed her face by mere inches.

A bolt of electricity thundered from Alauinel's steel. It connected with Islanzadi with a brutal flash of blinding light as the former queen was pushed backwards. Alauinel leapt into the air and pulled the last of her strength into propelling her body ahead of her mother.

Alauinel touched onto the ground with a cracking thump. Ahead, her mother was still being forced towards her as the brilliant sun she held back nearly obscured Alauinel's vision.

Sword primed, Alauinel pounced ahead. She saw the shadowy silhouette of Islanzadi, saw her blade as if it began to puncture Islanzadi's back-

The queen vanished.

Alauinel let out a small cry of confusion as the full brunt of her own magic connected with her body. Her skin burned and boiled as hair engulfed in flames as she screamed in horrifying agony. Her vision faded as shocks of electricity bounded around her, creating small craters in the ground in violent tantrums of mayhem.

Alauinel's body lay still, black and charred in a pit of smoldering fire.
