"SUZANNA!"
Oh drat. She's caught me.
"I LET YOU OUT OF MY SIGHT FOR FIVE MINUTES AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS! THE LOWER HOUSE WOULD PROBABLY BE MUCH BETTER MAINTAINED IF ITS TIERCE WOULD STICK TO HER DUTIES INSTEAD OF MESSING ABOUT AND…"
Ah well. When this happens, best to just turn up the music in your head and wait for it to be over. I guess I'll do just that.
Maybe Monday's Noon will come in and distract her. Give her some important paperwork or something. Or Arthur will come back cos of one of them morrow days fouling things up for him, and the old frog'll go to see to him.
Good old Arthur. No one can make me want to laugh quite like he does. Usually he just needs a laugh so bad himself that I just have to give him one, and that sets me off too. He's a drop downhearted, sure, but he's got it where it counts. That's one heck of a heart he's got a-beating in his breast.
His pessimism doesn't hurt. It just makes me want to cheer him up. I love making him smile. Gives me a great feeling. And sometimes, he says funny things. Sarcastic, like. I like laughing with him.
He's a brave guy, that Arthur. I dunno if I'd do nearly as well and he does at this becoming the rightful heir business. Sound awfully difficult to me, but Arthur goes in and does what he has to do, even if he complains a bit along the way. And I get to help him. I do love helping him, much more than I like helping old Primey. He's a heap less self-satisfied than that dratted Will, and he's smarter too, more efficient like. And he's polite, and generally a darn nice guy.
Good old Arthur. Sometimes I feel like hugging him. Life with Arthur around is an adventure, and I get to make him smile. He's got a nice smile, 's just to bad you don't see it too often. I hugged him once; I wish I could do it again. It'd be nice if he knew how much I like being his mate, how great it feels to make him laugh.
Looks like Primesy has finished her lecture. Yup; there's Monday's Noon with an armload of papers. I guess I should skeedaddle before the all-important frog gets back to tellin' me off.
Can't say it's boring, being Monday's tierce and all. I've got some darn good stories to tell Arthur sometime if I see him. I bet some of them would make him smile. Do I ever love making him smile.
