First, I would like the thank all of my lovely reveiwers:
Fae Black, redrayne fallen, Chi, SweeT sWeeT SnoW, Little Sakura 87, and the-mischievious-innocent-soul. All your reveiwes were lovely and keeps me writing this story. I hope to have more reveiws in the future but this is a good start for one who is just really starting out as an author on FF.N.
Also I would like to apolygise for the lateness of updates. I've been very busy and didn't have the time I would have liked to work on my stories.
Disclaimer:I of course, do not own YYH. I do however own Ericka, her thoughts, her cell and her heavy ass bookbag...
The next thing she knew, Ericka was lying on something slightly soft and plush. She opened her eyes weakly and winced at the pain it brought. She could feel her swollan cheeks at where the guys had hit and kicked her. She knew that she looked just about a fright and placed a tentative hand on her abused face. It didn't feel as swollan as she thought it would be, but only a look in the mirror would show her the truth. It was then that she relized that her vision was blurry and relized that her glasses were off her face. She sat up quickly, but regretted it as she let out a pained moan. Her stomach and sides hurt and her back wasn't in any better condition. She looked around, getting more worried by the minute.
'I need those things! I can't see crap without them...'
She heard a door open and quickly turned her head towards the door. She squinted and tried to make the blur of a person that was standing at the door. The person spoke, japanese words spilling from their lips and Ericka was able to tell that it was girl.
'But the voice does sound familar...' she mused.
She gave the girl what she hoped was a confused look seeing as how she couldn't understand. The girl seemed to shuffle on her feet as if she was thinking or was uncomfortable being around her. The next moment words in very broken English came from the girl. Ericks was surprised. This was the first time all day she heard another voice speaking in English, even if it wasn't that good and she had to really listen to her to understand. She thought that she asked her if she was alright and she smiled as best she could hoping it didn't look too weird. She said as simple as she could that she was alright and asked for her glasses. The girl did nothing for a moment before looking around the room they were in. She moved over a table, or what Ericka thought was a table and picked up what she could make out were her glasses. The girl handed them to her hesitantly and Ericka took them greatfully and put them on.
She could see the room crystal clearly and noticed that it looked more like a storage room. She up at the standing girl and held in a gasp.
It was Keiko! How she ended up from being beat up in ally to being rescured by Kuwabara and finally ending up with the Yukimura girl she did not know. She wanted to say something, anything to the other girl but her words got caught in her throat. She looked down and away from the pretty brunntte.
Keiko could successful say that she would have never thought her day would have ended like this. She had been working in her family's Noodle House, cleaning a few eating utensils when the back door had opened and the yell of Kuwabara was heard. She had stopped what she was doing and went to go see what the young man was yelling about. She expected something like Yusuke having to go on off the the Makai once again for some reason. Or that the end of the world was near yet again at the hands some demon, but what Kuwabara had brought was diffrent. Not as serious or weird as what she had been used to over the last few years but different. In his arms there was what appared to a woman. Keiko had noticed that her skin was a deep brown color, signaling that she was a foreigner, or someone with a really good tan. However the fact that she had several injuries and was so still in Kuwabara's arms alarmed her and the thoughts of her being a foreigner were pushed to the back of her mind. She ushered Kuwabara to the storage room which held a couch and a few blankets there. She would have lead him to take the girl to her room but the boy had forgotten to take his shoes off. That and fact that he had the rest of his friends with him and her parents were at the shop told her that that wouldn't have been a wise idea.
No matter what the situation, she was pretty sure her parents wouldn't be too happy that four boys with an unconsious girl were in her room.
As she checked the other girl's injuries, First-Aid kit beside her and the boys respectfully turned around she wondered how the girl got into such a state. Kuwabara had told her of what he knew what had happaned and she looked down at her sadly. It was a shame. What type of image of Tokyo were those men showing the foreign girl? Tokyo was a pretty safe place as long as you didn't start trouble and Keiko couldn't picture the girl starting any trouble, atleast on purpose. She was even more suprised when Kuwabara told her that the girl knew him. He said he never saw her in his life and was a bit weirded out by how she knew his name. It gave him uneasy feelings, feelings he had when he was still messing with the workings of the Spirit World.
Keiko now looked at the girl as she looked down at the ground as if she was embrasssed. She spoke again in English, trying to use the right words and pronouce it the right way. The girl looked up and laughed slightly saying that she was only fifthteen and that Keiko could stop calling her 'Ms'.
Keiko was a bit surprised. She had thought the girl was alot older than that, even older than her. It wasn't that her body was well-developed or curvous, but it was more so her face. Her face had roundness to it but it wasn't really from youth. Her eyes were what made Keiko think she was an adult. They weren't bright and hopeful as the eyes of a young teen would be. They were cool and told her that the girl was down to earth. That and the fact that she had dark circles under her eyes. She wondered if she ever had gotten enough sleep...
She couldn't ponder this as the loud booming voice of Kuwabara came in the room.
Ericka looked up sharply as the orange haired boy walked in. She unconsiously tensed up as he looked over at her. He said something to her which of course she couldn't understand. He seemed a little annoyed and confused at this and turned to Keiko. Keiko began to talk to him in Japanese again and he let out a loud embrassed laugh. Keiko gave him a look and turned back to Ericka. She introduced herself and Kuwabara as best she could in English, though it wasn't really necessary. Ericka gave them a smile and simply said her name, which the both of them seemed to understand.
They stayed in that room in silence for a moment. No one really wanting to be the first one to break the ice. It wasn't as if it was that easy to. Ericka couldn't speak their langauage and Keiko could barely speak hers, so any conversation couldn't be too interesting.
And Keiko was tempted to ask the girl, how she was doing, but thoght it to be redundent. How was she suppose to feel? She was hurt and lost in a strange new land, where she knew no one and had no idea of what to do.
Ericka looked around. She got the same feeling as she did before when she was walking downtown in Tokyo. This feeling of actually being in an anime and yet not being in one. It was surreal and made her pounding head hurt even more. She placed her head in her hands, slipping her hands under her glasses. She felt the prick of hot tears forming at the corner of her eyes. She was just confused and scared and a whole lot of other emotions. But she told herself not to cry infront of these people, not to show her own weakness to strangers.
She blinked and looked up as she felt a heavy hand on her shoulder. She looked up futher and stared into the chisled face of Kuwabara. He patted her shoulder again and said something, that sounded so comfroting. She smiled despite the fact that she couldn't understand a lick of it and patted Kuwabara's hand lightly.
"Arigato."she said, the only japanese word she really knew how to pronouce.
Watching anime everyday payed off in some way.
And that's the end of this chapter. Sorry for the lack of real action. I promise that something will go down in the next chapter to come.
Also, Ericka gets a bit more comfrotable with Keiko and Kuwabara, that is until another guest shows up. And Ericka finds out that not everyone is excatly how they appear to be on the show.
