Chapter 4: Amity

"Ok Mamá, I present to you: Amity Blight!" Luz said as she pulled Amity into the frame by the shoulder, causing the witch to go red in the face.

"L-Luz! Warn me the next time you do that!" Amity shouted.

"Sorry! I was just so excited to introduce you to her!" Luz said with a laugh.

Camilla just laughed at her daughter's antics.

"Nice to meet you Amity!" Camilla said with a smile.

"Nice to meet you too Ms. Noceda."

"Please, call me Camilla!" Camilla said.

"O-Oh! Ok!"

"She can be a bit awkward sometimes, but she is like, SUPER talented, SUPER nice, and just, well, SUPER!" Luz praised Amity, causing the witch to go even redder.

"Oh, I'm not that great…"

"Considering what you went through to get the Titan's Blood?! Heck yeah you are!" Luz said.

"Hehehe…"

"I have to say Amity, I really love your hair! It really suits you!" Camilla said.

"Oh, yeah, I dyed it recently." Amity explained. "Some things happened, and after some thinking, I decided I wanted a bit of a change, so I went from dying it green to purple!"

"Good choice." Camilla said.

"Hmph…" She heard Odalia grunt in the background.

"Uh…"

"Yeah, my mother isn't exactly the biggest fan of it." Amity admitted.

"I'm sure it'll grow on her one day." Camilla reassured.

"Thanks…"

"So, how did the two of you meet?" Camilla asked.

"Oh, uh, we actually met the same day I met Willow and Gus!" Luz explained. "Though, it wasn't really the BEST first impression…"

"Hey, I apologized didn't I?" Amity asked.

"You did! Not saying you didn't!" Luz said. "But still, you almost got me dissected and…"

"WHAT?!"

"It's cool! I got out of there just fine!" Luz tried to explain.

Amity just looked ashamed.

"See, when we met, Amity was actually a bit of a bully." Luz explained. "I managed to get through to her, and she's actually really nice now!"

"It only took the two of us almost getting trapped in a book forever for me to warm up to you…" Amity sighed out. "Listen Camilla, I am not at all proud of what I was like before I met Luz… but I am trying to make up for it every day. And part of that is not giving up until she is home with you, alright?"

Camilla smiled. "I believe that as long as there is a will to change, then it is possible. From the looks of things though, you've already done plenty. Just help make sure Luz is safe!"

"Oh she's already well on that!" Eda said in the background. "Should of seen her when Luz got the Common Mold!"

"Common… what?"

"It's like a cold, but I grew mushrooms on my head." Luz explained.

"Made some good soup with those!" Eda said.

"It uh… didn't have any lasting effects, did it?" Camilla asked.

"No, not really. I just felt crummy for a while." Luz explained.

"Anyways, Boots here worked hard to help your daughter that day, even went and got the stuff we need to make a new portal to get Luz home." Eda explained.

"Oh, it wasn't much…" Amity said, red in the face.

"No, it was a LOT Amity… thanks." Luz said with a smile.

"…Hehehe…" Amity laughed shyly.

"Anyways, we may have had a rocky start, but I can honestly say that getting to know Amity is probably one of the best things that has happened to me here." Luz said with a smile.

Amity just looked at Luz in shock.

"R-really?" Amity said, her face red, and tears in her eyes.

"Of course!" Luz said with a smile.

Amity said nothing, and just pulled Luz in for a hug.

"Awwwwww…" Just about everyone said as the two hugged it out.

When they separated, Camilla just smiled. "When you come home, make sure to bring her. I would love to meet her face to face."

Luz smiled at this. "Of course!"

That Night

The rest of the day, everyone spent time talking to Camilla. Getting to know the woman and telling her stories about Luz's time in the Demon Realm.

Before long though, Gus and Willow had to go home, with Amity deciding to spend the night.

Everyone was now asleep, except for Amity.

They had agreed to call Camilla again in the morning before they went to school. It would probably be Luz's last chance to talk to her mother.

Amity though… she had other ideas.

So, grabbing Luz's phone, she snuck her way outside, and began to call Camilla again.

"Hello? Luz?"

"No, it's me. Amity." Amity said, pointing the camera at herself.

"Oh, hello Amity! Is there something I can do for you?" Camilla asked.

"I just… wanted to talk to you alone for a bit." Amity said. "There's… a few things I want to get off my chest."

"Oh, ok?"

"See… Luz came and paid me a visit the other night." Amity explained.

She then told Camilla all about Luz's late night visit, about how she was in tears about the promise she made and everything.

"I… I had no idea that making her promise to stay would hurt her so much…" Camilla said, clearly upset about what she was just told.

"Well… it did." Amity said bluntly. "Listen, Luz is… really… really important to me… to all of us… do you think that…"

"I will allow her to go back." Camilla interrupted.

Amity just looked at her in shock.

"It would be wrong of me to keep her here against her will. So… as long as you and her other friends are there to keep her safe, I will have no problems with her going back to visit whenever she wanted." Camilla explained.

"Really? Thank you so much!" Amity said with a big smile.

"Of course… besides, I know I can't keep her from her girlfriend for too long."

Amity just looked at her in shock.

"Oh what, did you really think I wouldn't notice?" Camilla asked with a laugh.

"I… uh…"

"Please Amity, take good care of my daughter while she is there… and when you find a way to bring her home, I would love to have you over for dinner." Camilla said with a smile.

"O-of course!"

At that moment, they both yawned.

"Well, I better get to sleep. Talk to you again in the morning?" Camilla asked.

"Yes, talk to you then Ms. Noceda."

"Please… call me Camilla."

And that is the end of this! This… is actually the end of the main part of the story.

Later today, I will be posting the Epilogue… it is not at all what you are probably expecting. It is really just a big setup to the sequel, and is VERY short, hence why I am posting it tonight instead of tomorrow.

In the Epilogue's end-notes, I will finally be revealing what I have planned for the sequel, what I have been planning for the past three months now! So, as a final hint, for all of you who want to guess what is happening, I will say this:

The Sequel takes place after this Universe's version of The Day of Unity, after the story of The Owl House is done.
