Hope you like this honey. I'm so glad we met thanks to this awesome movie.

A Beautiful Evening

Blade Ranger felt excited and nervous at the same time. Dusty was coming back. For a friend visiting, this wouldn't be an issue but, this was Dusty. They were more than just friends. They were a couple.

It had been hard on them both, being apart. Since both of them were firefighters and needed to be on call at their own places. However, they made it work. Since a chance of a fire happening at Propwash Junction was extremely low. It was easier for Dusty to visit Piston peak since his home was only a few hours away. The sweet SEAT visited him at weekends without fail, but if he was busy with a racing season. Sadly he wouldn't see him for a few months.

Winter had arrived at Piston Peak. Blade wished he could say winter was easier at his end because of the cold temperature, enabling him to visit Dusty's home for a change, but it didn't help. A cold winter does not prevent wildfires. Wildfires can still blaze in the wintertime during warm phases that melt the snow. Even a week of hot, dry, and windy weather in between rain or snowstorms can be enough to start a raging inferno. The same issue with campers causes problems too. He lost count of how many times he has to beg the Rangers to explain to campers over and over again about putting out their fires before sleeping or leaving their camp.

He looked out from his hanger again, hoping to see any sign of him flying in, but nothing yet. The snow was falling. It wasn't thick enough or coming down so much to make flying an issue, for the moment. He just hoped Dusty would arrive soon so his engine would calm down.

"Blade, will you chill already! The kid will be here soon!" A voice to his left startled him.

He turned to find Maru, coming towards him with a can of oil on one of his lifts. "Sorry, it's just..."

Maru rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I know, but he isn't going to get here any faster with you sticking your head out every few seconds. He'll radio when he is near. Now come drink, it'll relax you..."

Blade was grateful for that and thanked his friend. He took a few sips and already felt himself relax again. Mura just smiled at him and stared at him.

Blade finally pulled back and thought something was on his face, with the way he was looking at him. "What?"

Maru held up his lifts. "Nothing, it's just, it's nice seeing you like this, so nervous and excited at the same time. To meet the plane of your dreams". He ended up giving him a little wink.

The red helicopter quickly started blushing and looked off, not wanting to look Maru in the face. "I'm just anxious for him to get here safely. Snow is coming down".

"It's not even that bad. Just take a deep breath and drink the rest of your oil..."

" Yes, mom..." Blade muttered. He went back to take a few sips when suddenly a voice came from his private radio. "This is Dusty Crophopper approaching Piston Peak Air Attack. Come in?"

Blade nearly choked on his oil when he heard his voice. He coughed a few times before hurrying over, hitting the switch with his wheel. "Dusty! Ah, good to hear from you!" Hearing his voice just made his engine leap with joy.

He could hear Dusty chuckle "It's so good to hear your voice Blade. I'm coming in for a landing. See you in a few".

Blade turned and looked out his window, and sure enough, he saw the little flyer making his final approach.

He headed outside to see Dusty making his landing. The racer's smile grew when he finally reached his ex-trainer and lover. "Hey..."

Blade blushed more. "Hey..y..you look good". He felt a lump in his throat, suddenly finding himself lost at words. He always felt nervous around Dusty. He wasn't used to being in a relationship. The only other one he had was with Nick, and sadly that ended in tragedy. "I missed you a lot"

Dusty smiled and came closer to the larger plane. He pressed his nose tip against him and gave him a few affectionate rubs.

Blade couldn't even move. His body felt on fire. He was sure he would instantly melt any snow that fell on him.

"Get a hanger! You two!" Maru yelled at the top of his voice.

Blade's eyes widen. He turned fast to face him, his propellers spinning fast in annoyance. "Don't you have work to do!"

The medic just laughed and went off, leaving Blade embarrassed by what he said. "Sorry Dusty..."

The racer just giggled. "It's ok, plus it's not a bad idea". He moved in, suddenly taking Blade's lips. The fire rescue copter made a little cute muffle cry, surprised by Dusty's move. He soon got over it and closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling and kissing him.

Eventually, Dusty pulled back. His cheeks red slightly. "I missed you, us. I want to be with you. So I had a little idea..."

Blade was curious. "Oh? What is it?"

"Well, I booked us a room at the lodge. I thought we could sit in a cosy little room. Snuggle up together by a fire and watch the snowfall. Some hot oil wouldn't be a bad idea either. What do you day?"

Blade still blushing smiled. His idea sounded so nice. "I would enjoy that very much..."

Dusty smiled, loving when he blushed. He looked so cute. "Well, let me say hi to the rest of the group, and we can be on our way. I want to get to the lodge before the snow gets too heavy".

...

Dusty quickly introduced himself to everyone at Piston Peak Air Attack base. He missed them all, and it was great seeing them again. He spoke briefly of what he has been up to since he left. Everyone was happy to see him again and wanted to hang out more, but he explained he had plans.

Dusty and Blade soon left. They flew side by side, eyes occasionally meeting as they headed to the lodge. Blade couldn't help but feel pride that Dusty picked his colours when he became a firefighter. It made him happy beyond words.

They could see the Fusel lodge coming into view. Snow covering the roof and each balcony roof too. It was quite a sight, something you see in a Christmas card.

They landed and began making their way inside. The lodge was filled as always. The main lobby area was filled with guests enjoying hot drinks, while some cars were sitting on the rocking chairs near the fire. A few other guests were checking out the history of the area and information on the wildlife.

They made their way over to the front desk. A grey and purple forklift greeted them with a warm smile. She quickly typed in her computer their reservation. "We are so happy you picked to spend a night here. Your room is on the top floor number 2. We hope you enjoy yourself Mr. Crophopper"

Dusty chuckled. "Please, it's Dusty, and thank you. Could we have some hot oil scent to our room"

She nodded. "I'll have that arranged for you right away. One of our staff will happily show you the way to your room"

He thanked her again. The two made their way to their room. "I still can't over you booked this place," Blade said as he began heading up to the next floor.

"Why wouldn't I? I wanted to treat to something special"

Blade gave him a little nudge. "Your company alone is special to me"

Dusty now blushed as they headed up the ramp to the top floor. It didn't take them long to arrive. The porter opened the door for them. "If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ring down for room service."

Dusty thanked him and gave him a tip. He closed the door and turned.

The room was truly giving off a cosy vibe. A red-bricked fireplace at the back of the room glowed brightly. Red Mats and rugs covered the dark wooden floor. Lampshades against the wall glowed a soft yellow colour. It seemed to brighten the wood walls. Some pictures were hung around the room. Each one depicts a beautiful spot in the National Park.

He had a look around and checked out the other rooms, finding the bathroom and then the bedroom. He grinned as he stared at their sleeping mat. He Pictured Blade laying on it. His lovely blushing face stared at him, waiting for him to join him. He blushed and backed up and noticed where Blade was.

He was by the window, looking out at the view. They were at the highest level. It was dark now, the snow coming down harder. He could see headlights of other cars outside, some enjoying throwing snowballs at each other.

He smiled and turned to find Dusty staring at him. "What?"

"Nothing, It's just I wanted to admire you. Your so beautiful Blade"

The helicopter's whole face must have been glowing red by now. He quickly diverted his gaze away from him. Never use to Dusty complimenting him like that.

Dusty giggled, enjoying his reaction. He moved closer to him and soon began nuzzling him affectionately, pressing his nose tip against his frame gently.

Blade closed his eyes focusing on his touch. His smell, his warmth. He began to nuzzle against him gently for a few moments before his lover moved back.

Dusty beamed a sweet smile as he stared into Blade's ice coloured eyes. They truly reminded him of ice and how it would sparkle when the sun shined on it. Their fire's glow seemed to be causing that effect in Blade's eyes.

" You keep staring at me like that my whole frame is gonna blush"

Dusty chuckled and gave him a gentle kiss. "I wouldn't mind seeing that" He kissed him once more.

Then a knock came at the door. "Come in" Blade called out.

The door opened. A forklift porter came in with a tray of oil for them. He left it at their table. "Enjoy your evening sirs" He smiled before leaving.

The two moved over to the table and began drinking their warm oil. It tasted amazing and it did a good job of warming them up. "Hmm, tasty" Dusty commented.

Blade nodded and took a few more sips. He glanced towards the window again and saw the snow was even heavier now. He was glad to be in the lodge instead of his hanger. He just hoped everyone else was ok and had the sense to stay indoors. He could already picture the Smokejumpers rushing around in the snow, having snowball fights, and driving everyone else crazy.

They can be a bit crazy, but he wouldn't change them. They're good at their jobs.

"Blade, you ok?" Dusty voice brought him out of his thoughts. He looked towards his lover, who had a concerned look in his eyes. "Sorry, just thinking of my team.."

"I'm sure they're ok but if you're worried, give them a call. I know you won't settle until you do".

Blade kiss him before giving Maru a call. He only had to wait a few moments before hearing Maru yell 'WHAT!' Clearly pissed off with someone. "I'm I right in guessing the Smokejumpers have you annoyed?"

"So your an actor, firefighter, and mind reader now!"

Blade chuckled. "You're just annoyed cause they got you with a snowball"

Maru growled. "Stop reading my mind! Aren't you supposed to be busy with a certain SEAT!"

"Maru it's snowing. Someone was gonna do a snowball fight sooner or later. Are you all ok?"

"Were fine Blade. Everyone is staying inside. The group is in the main hanger right now watching a movie"

"What about you?"

"I'm not watching some bloody Romcom! I'll be there when they put Die Hard on. Stop worrying, ok. Go, be with your boyfriend. Over and out!"

Blade laughed a little but did feel better hearing from him. He went near the fire, enjoying the warm heat against his frame. Dusty came alongside him and pressed his body up against his. Blade just closed his eyes, loving this perfect moment. "I love you, Blade.."

He rubbed his cheek gently against him. "I love you too Dusty"

He enjoyed feeling the young plane against his frame. He could happily fall asleep right here. He hadn't felt so comfortable in a long time. His eyes threatened to close when Dusty nudged him awake. "Hey, don't fall asleep yet. We have a bedroom for that, and I for one, want to get you! Into it"

Blade blushed hard. "Well, I wouldn't want to disappoint you then"

Dusty snuggled up to him again "Good to hear. I missed our special time together, and I want this moment perfect"

Blade's ice coloured eyes sparked again, almost hypnotizing. "It already is. I have you with me".

Dusty couldn't hold back any longer. He loved his brave helicopter so much. "Bed now!"

"Aren't I the Chief? Shouldn't you be listening to my commands?" He teased.

"Not this time Blade, I outrank you for this. Bed now!"

Blade chuckled then moved forward towards the bedroom. His small tail propellers spun slowly in anticipation. He moved in and rolled onto the sleeping mat. It felt soft under his wheels, he rested down.

Dusty moved in, his wing closing the door slowly. He blushed hard staring at Blade's beautiful body that he was gonna love all night long.

Blade never had anyone stare at him as he did. Not even Nick did that. Dusty truly made him feel special. His cheeks were red again as the racer plane edged closer. He started kissing Blade again then his tongue ran against his cheek. "Blade, turn off the light"

Blade shivered. He felt his engine jump. "As you wish". There was a button next to him. He put his nose to it and pressed it. The moment the lights instantly went out, his world became a bliss of pleasure and happiness.

Morning

When Blade opened his eyes, he saw it was morning. His body was still drained from what Dusty did to him last night. He looked to his lover, who was happily sleeping under the blankets. His head pressed up against him. He looked so happy.

Blade didn't want to wake him and had no intention of getting up either. He was just so grateful that Dusty came into his life. He still missed Nick and will always remember him but Dusty was the one he loved now. He will do everything he can to keep him safe and be there for him.

He nuzzled against him a little before closing his eyes again and fell into a happy dream.
