The next day came all to quickly for Emily. She'd had a busy night with the kids. They were more excitable with JJ being home now from hospital, so they were up and down from the bedroom all night. Waking JJ up, then jumping on the bed and then finally around 9pm they were all asleep on the bed after having watched a film in bed with their mother. Emily decided to camp out on the floor, watching all the kids and to keep and eye on JJ. So even though it came quickly, it came slowly. She was uncomfortable and her 39-year-old bones ached. She took note, next time to move all the kids out of the bed or sleep somewhere else.

She'd left JJ to sleep in and took the kids to school. Because she knew JJ was going to need her rest if she was going to have her crazy rant at the team. When she arrived back home JJ was already up and ready and she was on her backside shuffling down the stairs. Emily laughed as she saw JJ halfway down the stairs. "What are you doing?"

"I needed to get downstairs and I'd rather not fall today. We have stuff to do. Places to be, now stop laughing, unless you help this is how I have to move downstairs." JJ pouted at Emily who was still laughing at the way she was coming down the stairs. After a load of sleep, she felt much stronger and much more ready to face today. "So, are you gonna help?"

Emily rushed forward, "Yeah, sorry." She grabbed her hands standing in front of her wife, pulling her down the stairs. She noticed how JJ seemed much stronger today, her grip was harder, and her legs didn't shake as much.

"Emily." JJ said as they reached the bottom of the steps.

"Yeah Jayje?" The brunette passed JJ her crutches settling them under her arms before she let go fully.

The blonde paused, "We haven't had a date, done valentines day, or celebrated anything really since you know. So, I was wondering if you'd have a breakfast date with me today?" She hoped that Emily would say yes. The younger woman was trying different things to get back to normal. It was 3 months until their anniversary, and she wanted to be ready for it. After everything, she was ready.

A big smile graced Emily's face. "Yeah of course where do you want to go?"

JJ took a moment to think. "Somewhere that does Pancakes and Smoothies. We haven't had a breakfast date in so long." She had missed dates with her wife. And maybe these were steps she needed to take in the right direction. It seemed like the right way for things to go.

"Of course. Do you need to get anything because we can go now?" Emily took a step back admiring her life partner smiling it just wouldn't leave her face. She was getting back to normal.

"Ermm, medication and I need to possibly get changed. You look really good today." JJ eyed Emily's dark high waisted jeans and red top which showed the perfect amount of cleavage. She coupled them with a pair of boots and her leather jackets. Whereas JJ had gone for comfort in a pair of black leggings and dark blue sweater. Still waiting for shoes and a coat to be paired with it.

A blush crept on to both women's face. It wasn't often they shared complementary thoughts or words at the moment. There hadn't been the time and their focus had been on other things. But now JJ felt more comfortable, and had made progress, even if she didn't believe it, things were going to get better and they would now work on their relationship. Instead of focus solely on their mental or physical health.

"Baby, you look beautiful the way you are. I love seeing you in leggings, means I get to see your ass more." Emily swayed off into the kitchen to grab JJ's meds she would need while they were out. It was exciting that JJ had proposed something like this. She couldn't wait for a normal morning with her wife.

They set off, ready for what would hopefully be a good but efficient day.

They arrived at a place not too far from the office where they could have their breakfast and just have a talk before, they laid into the team. They wouldn't spend too long there. They'd ordered their food and sat down in a booth in the corner of breakfast café.

JJ picked at her nails, something she picked up from Emily, "Thank you for doing this with me. I really appreciate it." She said nervously trying not to let her wife see just how nervous she was.

"You don't have to thank me. I'm your wife JJ." The dark-haired profiler grabbed her partners hands stopping her from picking at them. "I'm glad we have the time to talk." A half smile came on her face when she saw JJ relax.

"Me too. Its nice to be out of hospital, work, no kids, no anything." A sigh of satisfaction slipped from JJ's lips. "It's like when we first met and started dating. I miss those days."

"I miss those days too. We literally would spend the whole weekend in bed, I don't think we went longer than a couple days without sex." Emily stopped her sentence quickly as the waitress placed the plate of pancakes down in the middle of them for them to dish out as well as Emily's coffee and JJ's fruit smoothie.

"Yeah," The blonde agent continued on from Emily's words. "I don't think I'd have the stamina to go that long anymore. These kids have aged me 10 years."

Emily shook her head, she put her elbow on the table and rested part of her head in her hand. "I'm not surprised darling, it's been 10 years since we started having kids. But the stamina thing. We could certainly give it a go. I know I would want too." She thought to her plans for their wedding anniversary and JJ's birthday which fell on the same day. They were good plans, exciting plans.

One thing the two had said when they got married was no matter what year the anniversary was, they would always make it big and about them both. JJ never wanted her birthday to be celebrated on the same day. They did that a couple days before or afterwards. But the anniversaries each year they had gone on a weekend away somewhere different each time, they ticked something off their bucket list and had the most amazing time. Something not many couples had the chance to do. But luckily due to their big hand made family, and amazing nanny who had become family, they had these opportunities.

"God, me too. I'd love a weekend away. I miss sex." The two laughed and took a bite out of their pancakes, they both missed the intimacy, the touches, the intense kisses which led to late nights and a tired morning following. They missed midnight snacks after sex, or the midnight snacks that led to sex. They missed being together in the tub and shower. They had seen each other naked but it wasn't the same. But the revelation that they both missed the same thing was a good thing for each other. It showed they were on the same page.

Their pause went on slightly longer. "So, I'm back in work tomorrow. Do you want to come pester us or spend the day with Alice? I don't mind either way." The older agent secretly hoped JJ would come with her to work. She knew she was safe with Alice but, JJ would benefit from getting out and maybe Hotch would let her come back on desk duty for a while. And maybe Alice could come along too for a while, hopefully keep her busy in the wake of her mothers death.

"I'll see tomorrow. See what kind of day I'm having. I don't wanna be in a crappy mood and bring the rest of you down with me. It wouldn't be fair." JJ shrugged. She bit into the last of her third pancake. She was really hungry this morning and the food was amazing here. She grabbed her fruit smoothie washing it down.

The dark-haired agent loved seeing JJ eat. With the therapy, she had barely seen her eat anything. Lunch at work would be avoided, occasionally JJ would join the team, but she didn't eat half as much. The same went for family meals. If she joined in then halfway through the young agent would excuse herself to throw up, or not join them all retreating to the shower. Then hospital happened. That had been eventful enough and soups and sandwiches were all she ate. So, eating not one, not two but three pancakes as quick as she had, had her secretly jumping for joy. "Alright that's fine with me, I'll wake you up and you can just let me know." She carried on, letting her mind get back on track.

"Thank you." JJ smiled. She was grateful her wife was so understanding.

"JJ, I have a slight confession to make," Emily said nervously after she put down her fork from eating the last of her pancake. "I don't want to ruin this, and I don't want you to be mad. Okay." God, she hoped JJ didn't freak out. If they were in public the profiler knew her wife wouldn't go off as much. Hence why she was wussing out and doing it here.

"Erm, okay." The younger woman said hesitantly. "What did you do?"

"You remember those sleeping pills I used to have? Well I got re prescribed them when I wasn't staying at home and yesterday, I may have given you half." Emily winced almost prepared for the onslaught of why's and how could yous. She was surprised when there wasn't much of a reply.

"Oh." Came the confused reply from JJ.

"I'm really sorry I just I didn't…" The brunette rambled quickly, not really hearing JJ out.

"Emily thank you." The blonde nodded as she grabbed her wifes hands. Emily did what she had to do. She knew how embarrassing it could have been if she would have gone and saw her teammates that day. Her stress could have caused a seizure or with how tired she was, she could have tripped. She was grateful.

A raised eyebrow showed how confused Emily was. "Thank you?" Why wasn't JJ angry?

"Yeah, I was raging yesterday and if you would have done what I asked yesterday I probably would have said things I shouldn't have. You were right I needed to sleep and relax. So, thank you." The blonde stood up to sit on Emily's side of the booth. She leaned in planting a slow and delicate kiss on her wifes puckered lips. They were okay. They finished up their drinks and headed to their next destination. Hopefully, this would be quick, and they could meet Alice on the school run.

The now sombre couple stepped out the elevator and through the glass doors of the bullpen. Most the team were gathered round Spencer's desk. The only person missing was Rossi, who must have been in his office his doors were shut and blind was closed. Garcia was the first to spot the couple on medical leave. "Oh my god Emily, JJ. We weren't expecting to see you both today." She said ecstatically running to envelop them both in her arms. Mindful not to knock JJ's crutches from her arms, or the handbag from Emily's shoulder.

Following Garcia, the male team members handed out hugs to the women they hadn't seen for a while. Emily looked to JJ who was managing to keep a straight face. "We know but we need to talk to you all. It's important."

"You're not leaving, are you?" Garcia sulked, hoping her two best friends weren't going to leave her with a team of men.

"No Pen, but this is pretty important." Emily confirmed JJ's statement which encouraged them all to gather in the round table room collecting the oldest agent Rossi on the way. There were lots of confused faces as they walked. But grateful to have their two missing agents back in the office

Morgan started the conversation, "What's up guys?" He was hoping for good news but being a profiler meant he easily read their faces. Something was up.

"So, the other week Henry said some stuff to Emily and then we spoke to him yesterday." JJ's eyes floated between each of her friends and colleagues, trying to see if any expressions knew what she was talking about. "We kept him off school so we could do it alone. And he knows." There was some slight venom dripping from her voice. She moved her crutches away, maybe focusing on staying standing would stop her from getting as angry as she wanted to.

"What does he know?" Hotch asked. Unsure where this conversation was going.

"He knows that Ian took us. He knows that's why I have fits and he knows what he did to us." The youngest profiler took in a deep breath. Control yourself, she thought begging all her wild emotions to stop.

Emily said the words JJ couldn't bring herself to say. "He knows JJ was raped. He doesn't understand what it means. But I had to explain it means JJ was hurt really bad."

"How?" Morgan asked slightly confused. "He was in the office with the other kids. Has anyone told him?" The dark-skinned agent looked round the room to his colleagues. No one would tell a then 9-year-old what his mothers had gone though.

"He heard it from you guys." Emily confirmed with her friends calmly. "Names specifically were Derek, Spencer and Hotch." She told them so they knew who JJ would possibly be going off on one at. The three of them looked shocked but sad they hadn't noticed the blonde being close by when they had spoken.

"I need to know how you guys let him hear that stuff. I'm so angry." The blonde raged as her emotions built up again. Luckily not as bad as the previous day. But she was still pretty angry. "Our child, our baby boy knows what happened at 10. No kid should know that. And you let it happen. No one was watching them." She accused.

"Jayje listen, we took our eyes off them for what like 10 minutes." Morgan told her defending themselves.

"But you took your eyes off them. That's the whole point, we were taken, and you had no idea if someone was going to come after out kids. But you left them alone anyway and now we have to get Henry into counselling, god knows what else he knows or what he's told the others."

Hotch stood holding a hand up signalling JJ to slow down and to calm down. "JJ." He was interrupted pretty quickly.

She couldn't help but explode. She kept trying to reign it in, but it was no use. She hadn't vocalised anything to the team like this. There's a first time for everything. "No, you don't get to JJ me. You should have done more; you should have protected them. You should have found us sooner then maybe this wouldn't have happened. Then maybe I could have looked after my own children. We relied on you and you…"

"JJ lets calm down okay." Emily said noticing how red in the face her wife was going and the slight sway to her knees. Her hand gripped one of JJ's the other on the small of her back. "Can you sit down please? I don't want you getting tired."

"I can't Emily. If I sit down, I'm small and they will look down on me. They need to understand how serious I am. How if they would have done their job, we would have been okay, our son would be okay." As a woman in their job, still to this day men looked down on woman as being weak or smaller than them. Not specifically but Emily and JJ had seen it in the many different police stations they had visited. This had led them to be quite defensive and to try proving themselves to their teammates. One way being that they like to stand if there was a heated debate. JJ wanted to stay standing.

"Okay. At least use your crutches. Lean on them okay." Slowly the crutches were handed to JJ and she put them under her arms leaning on them. Emily breathed a sigh of relief. She just didn't want her wife to fall. Not right now. She was about to get everything out; it was what she needed as another step in her recovery.

The younger of the couple took in a deep breath. A breath that let out some of the anger so she could speak in her normal voice. "Fine, I just I need an answer from you. You need to tell me how you let this happen." She directed her question to the team, looking over each of them.

"JJ, we didn't come in here to…" Morgan started getting slightly worked up himself. His own anger issues starting to show.

Garcia put a hand on her friends shoulder stopping him from standing him and halting his speech. "Morgan, let her. She needs this." The technical analyst did grief groups outside of work and this was similar to some activities she had the group doing. In a way it was grief. The family had lost the innocence of her child. JJ had lost her dignity, the couple had lost days and months in their relationship, having to spend time on other things than themselves.

"Does anyone have an answer?" Here came back her unstable bout of emotions. "I'm so angry at you all!" JJ growled.

"I suggest one of you answers her, she might come over there and hit you with a crutch if you don't." Emily grimaced, she was angry too but with JJ going off on one like she was, she didn't allow herself to show it, instead she watched her wife supporting her when she needed. And right now JJ genuinely looked like she was going to clip someone over the head with a crutch from under her arm.

"You're right JJ." Hotch took one small step towards his agent, "We didn't work hard enough. We didn't watch your kids 24/7 because we had no idea who had you. We had to focus on that. We didn't work quick enough. I'm sorry. We all are." He said one of his hands up in a defensive mode, hoping that his young agent would soon become more relaxed.

Tears began to spill over JJ's eyes. She spoke as though she was begging. "If you would have worked quicker then this wouldn't have happened. Everything would be okay." She just wished everything were okay. It's the one thing she wished for since the day they had been rescued. Now, here she was having some kind of emotional breakdown in front of her colleagues and her wife.

"Bella come here. I'm sorry. We did try but, in your case, we weren't quick enough. Ian Doyle did some horrible things to you those 5 days he had you. We could have stopped it. But we didn't and for that you paid the price. You both did. I'm so sorry. We all are." Rossi, who forever loved JJ as though she was one of his own, wrapped her up in his arms. Sometimes a girl needed some love from someone like a dad. To calm them, to let them know they were loved and cared for. He knew it was what JJ needed.

It was like Rossi touch made the anger and frustration pass out of her as she melted into his hug. Her head was pressed to his chest and her eyes closed as she slowly took so deep breaths. They didn't stop her from crying. JJ felt she was able to control them more. Until she was able to mumble. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lash out like that." She and Rossi moved so he had an arm round her back, and she was able to face the team. "I came in here with a much more put together speech." She laughed nervously, getting embarrassed she had lost control and said what she did.

The technical analyst rounded the table and took one of her friends hands. "Don't worry about it your allowed to be angry. It true what you said. You relied on us and we let you down." Garcia let go of JJ's hand and let Emily step in to hold on her hand instead. Which Emily did, but still letting her wife stay in the arms of Rossi.

"Yeah, I was wondering if you were ever going to snap." Rossi confessed still supporting his surrogate daughter "I mean Emily hit Hotch." There were some small chuckles as they thought back to the station where Emily had a bit of a flip out.

"Hey, I didn't hit him." Emily pouted, trying to look angry. She couldn't because that day she relieved a lot of stress. She wouldn't do it again. But it was good to tell her boss off for once it wasn't something many people got to do.

"No just a powerful shove and a good shout in front of a station full of officers." Morgan shrugged acting as though he was playing off what had happened.

"Still I'm sorry. I never shout like this." JJ said wiping away more tears. She felt she was such an emotion mess. "I'm scared for Henry. He shouldn't know this stuff."

Hotch approached JJ, leaning back against the table. He wanted to make sure that his two previously hurt agents knew they were going to have the team backing them the whole way. "Well we will do whatever we can to help. When Hayley died, I sent Jack to therapy it really helped him. I can find the number of his therapist again."

"Please." JJ thanked her boss with a nod.

Emily made funny revelation to her friends, which had made them all laugh. "You know, you should all be glad she came today. Yesterday she was going to rip you all limb for limb."

"Yeah, thank god she drugged me." JJ laughed to herself, her tears mostly gone now.

"You drugged your wife?" Spencer said after having mostly kept quiet. He was shocked Emily had done such a thing.

The brunette grimaced as she said it knowing how bad it sounded. "Well you remember that time JJ accidentally took my medication. The sleeping meds. Well I may have slipped her half of one of those. She was gone within about 10 minutes. It's all cool though."

"As your Boss I'm going to pretend I never heard that. As your friend, I'm going to say thank you." Hotch laughed along with the rest of the team. At least JJ had been able to hash it out and was now feeling okay now. All of their friends when they understood what was happening were supportive and sorry. Henry was going to get help. JJ was getting help. Emily was still willingly going to therapy when she had time. It was onwards and upwards from here.
